When the OAV came out, all I knew was that vocaloid was a huge deal and that this was a big thing in the anime community. I came away from it feeling like the action stuff looked really great, but not totally enjoying the parallel world theme and also the lack of dialogue BRS and Dead Master have. It wasn’t a total hate for the school side of things as I felt that the dark, barren geometric realm of BRS could’ve done a little more to help out with balancing. Honestly, with only 8 episodes, there shouldn’t be any excuse for making half of the anime into easy school crap when people just want to see Black Rock Shooter fight.

I’ve been keeping up with the Black Rock Shooter news on Anivision, and with each press release, my thrill for an anime series takes a big hit. I’m not bothered that Ordet is coming back to do animation production since I enjoyed the action sequences of Black Rock Shooter, but the problem lies in what I’ve seen of trailers so far, which is rather average CGI use for action scenes. A huge deal breaker for this anime could be battle sequences lacking in comparison to the OAV, and I really hope I’m wrong there. Ryo’s back for music, all well and good considering the great music both in the OAV and also Guilty Crown, and more of huke’s character designs like Strength and I think Black Gold Saw will get a chance to show up. noitaminA picking up this show is certainly a head-scratcher still to many, but it’s only 8 episodes and will be done and out before we can blink.
// C O M M E N T S
Let’s see the OVA that came out for this was a massive disappointment for me. sSeriously the action and animation was amazing but what the hell happened? Anyway I’m really happy they are giving this another shot, but doing it in a series form; however, I’m a bit sad to see there will be only eight episodes. Will that even be enough to get a great story across to us? Well as long as there is no need for WTF Flashbacks of death. Voice cast looks strong! And yep it appears Kana Hanazawa will be the main role as both Mato and The Black Rock Shooter, so expect some moe and badass voice work rolled into one. Next up Miyuki Sawashiro as Yomi aka Dead Master (Celty from Durarara!!, Dalian from Dantalian no Shoka) and finally Kana Asumi as Yuu and STRength (Yuno from Hidamari Sketch, Popura from Working!!). I can only hope that something amazing happens.
RYOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (is still on soundtrack duty XDDDDD)!!!!!! Who knew that a single vocaloid song would turn out so big! It also looks like they used some of huke’s (you know, the guy who designed the characters from Steins;Gate and the original BRS) other original character designs so that’s exciting too. This is an 8 episode series (yeah, weird number), and it seems to have all of the cast from the OVA. I seem to be one of the few people who actually liked the slice of life stuff from the BRS OVA (for once), so I really wouldn’t mind if there is more of that with this, but they’re being pretty secretive about what this anime is actually about. Anyways, Fuji TV is producing the series again (they did the OVA) and they’re joined by Aniplex and Ultra Super Pictures (who haven’t done produced anything before this). So yeah, not quite sure what this will all be about, but the fight sequences are probably going to look amazing.

Our main protagonist Marika is an energizer bunny (read high spirited), high school girl. She keeps herself quite busy with space yacht club and part-time job at a moe high-class retro café. However, it’s not all going to be slice of life for this girl because she’s contacted by two shady looking men, who claim to be her servants. No, this is not another version of Type-Moon’s FSN but a cliched version of getting responsibility thrown on one’s head after a parent is dead (in this case, her dead father is the culprit). Not only they shout ANIJA! but they demand her to take the command of Benten Maru (a modern, space pirate ship). According to the bros, privateer ship’s compact was made during a war of independence a century ago, and according to that compact, the ship must be inherited by the captain’s next direct descendant and of course, that’s Marika. How will she deal with this change in her life from being a moe waitress to a space pirate? Well, watch this to find out. Just be on your guard and not expect much because this is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea.
// C O M M E N T S
Oooooh yes! This series looks amazing! I can not wait to see some space pirate action, that trailer had me drooling just on the animation. I was thinking Outlaw star meets One Piece, but with lots of moe girls. On the director side of things we have Sato Tatsuo. I have only seen a few things by him like Azumanga Daihoh, Paranoia Agent, Stellvia and This Ugly Yet Beautiful World; all of those are great anime. On voice work, we have Kana Hanazawa as Chiaki Kurihara (Kobato in Boku wa Tomodachi ga sukani, Kuroneko in My Sister Can’t Be This Cute), Keiji Fujiwara as Hyokumanako (Shirou Fujimoto in Ao no Exorcist, Baron Kaido in Phi Brain) and Yui Horie as Coria (Tsubasa Hanekawa in Bakemonogatari, Masako in Mawaru Penguindrum), and Mikako Komatsu as Marika Kato (Joey from Heroman, Ian in Gosick). I will give this a shot at least and try to not get too excited because we all know what happens when you drool over animation *cough* Guilty Crown *cough* I hope we do not have a repeat of that.
Alright, so let’s break down the title bit by bit (or at least one interpretation of it). First, we have bodacious. Already, the cast is female-dominant, and names like Hana Kana and Yui Horie already pop out at you, and this is apparently the debut of character designer Noriyuki Matsumoto, and so far things look standard. Girls of different levels of cuteness, megane-chan, mature lady, etc. Second, space. Who doesn’t find space fascinating? From the real-life NASA R&D to many different things such as Star Wars or, bringing it back to anime, Planetes, space is vast and opens up so many doors and many action sequences of mobile suits flying around. Third, pirates. My favorite anime series is One Piece. Pirates on that show are awesome, and there’s also that Pirates of the Caribbean franchise which was good for about 15 minutes. Ninjas may be cool, but it’s damn fun to be a pirate, drinking away, singing songs… oh, also the raping and pillaging. Alright, so that last part isn’t how I’d want to live my ideal pirate life, but to jump off of Fosh’s point about the slight comparing to Guilty Crown, I think this series is what people should look to for a fun time. Director Sato Tetsuo has done some good business in the past with space series (namely Stelvia and Nadesico), so it could have a bit of a throwback feel to it which could be enjoyable.

OH MY GOD. YES. YES. YES. I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE FOREVER! AS A HISTORY FREAK, THIS IS DEFINITELY IN MY WATCHING LIST. Unlike Sengoku Basara which is waaayyy off from history, this one, at least, tries its best to stay on track with the history book. I guess if you’re into anime and all that, I’m sure you’ve heard of Sanada 10 right? This is what this anime is all about set in 1600, how the sexy Sanada Yukimura recruits his ten male harem members. Of course, it’s not that easy to find them. It takes Yukimura eight volumes to get all ten, so there’s obviously enemies and dangers as Yukimura forms the Sanada 10, not to mention the weird spiritual nonsense in the story. But this isn’t about Yukimura, this is about one of the Sanada 10 named Saizou and how he meets Yukimura and the rest of the member, including that chick named Izanami who basically spreads the protect-me-phenomenon to every character she meets.

The story is, unfortunately, very cliche. There’s nothing serious about it. It’s just a typical adventurous story in the Sengoku era (although the characters’ outfits have nothing to do with the Sengoku Era). I’m not putting much hope in the director too since it’s Kiyoko Sayama, the one who directed the Vampire Knight franchise and Angel Sanctuary *start sobbing* The Sound Director seems to be promising though, since Satoshi Motoyama took care of Haibane Renmei and Hanamaru Kindergarten. Too bad Studio Sakimakura is still a new studio, so I’m not so sure what to expect from them. BUT I’m still watching it anyway. See that list of seiyuu? Ono Daisuke as Saizou? Kamiyan as Unno? Nakai Kazuya as Nezu? FUCK YEAH I’M WATCHING THIS. Annnd my one of the female characters has my name too. It’s not that hard to guess which one. Also, the mangaka for this story is one of my favorite yaoi mangaka. Just sayin’

// C O M M E N T S
Yet another Sengoku era anime! It’s like it never ends! It’s a really overused concept, but it still manages to reel me in every time. Bishounen are always easy on the eyes, so why not sit down and just watch a bunch of dudes beat the crap out of each other? I’m not sure how I feel about an accurate depiction of history though. What made Sengoku Basara so fun was how much liberty it took with the story. Brave10 is going to be quite restrained in what happens if it’s following a predetermined course. Then again, look at the freaking character designs. This can’t be THAT accurate, come on. If they manage to keep history interesting, then it should be good!
DUDE, another Sengoku anime?! Though like Sengoku Basara, I most probably would be watching it for the crazy seiyuu cast. ALL MAAH BISHIES IN ONE PLACE? HNNNGGG. The thing that made me laugh was Date Masamune NOT voiced by Nakai Kazuya but Takehito Koyasu… These two should have a deep voice contest because they do make the fangirls HNNNG. And yeah, another OD sung OP, I hope he does a good job of it. The character design is by Yukiko Ban known for .hack//SIGN and Shinrei Tantei Yakumo but you definitely have a Uta-No-Prince/Hakuouki vibe from it as well. If you have less time, I’d advice to skip this but if you are a fangirl, into pretty boys with good seiyuu cast and some semblance of story or simply want to enjoy some action, this is your ticket.

Oh Aquarion! I really loved that first series, even though it was pure WTF IS GOING ON?! Half the time I found it to be really addictive near the end after a few big reveals and the CGI? Wow I really loved the CGI scenes like punching the freaking moon while on earth? I would love to see Luffy from One Piece even try to do that. So this series takes place 12,000 years after the original Aquarion, which seems like a huge time jump! But why not as it saves anyone from thinking old people from the past will show up. So, a new cast will be piloting a new Aquarion robot to fight enemies from another dimension. The voice cast looks massive filled with a few familiar names that jump out at me like Kana Hanazawa as Zessica (Anri from Durarara!!) and Megumi Nakajima as Sazanka (Ranka from Macross frontier).

I noticed those character designs look really good, like that green haired chick? Dem shorts…wow…This is also getting directed by Kawamori Shoji! Who does some of my favorite mecha shows like Eureka Seven, original Aquarion, Gundam 0083 and almost every macross series ever made. So you can expect something great, mecha fans. Music’s by Yoko Kanno? Yep! Sounds like a amazing series so far to me. Now you can expect to hear lots of orgasmic moaning as the cast as they “combine” their machines, trust me you will laugh so freaking hard if you hear it.

// C O M M E N T S
Oh hai thar, another Mari Okada project with Satelight! The story is nothing new if you think in terms of the mecha genre. Will this really be a new monster every week? Seems so. Though, the sounds that Fosh is talking about will only make me laugh. But, I’ll definitely check out at least the first two episodes as the animation reminds me of Ikoku Miero no Croisee (those backgrounds!), and the action does’t look bad at all. As I’m a seiyuu cast freak I’ll watch it for all my Japanese bishies (Namikawa Daisuke, Junichi Suwabe, SuzuKen, Uchiyama Kouki, Yuuichi Nakamura and Kousuke Toriumi). This will be another main role for Yuuki Kaji, who’s literally soaring towards A-rank roles, I mean Sion from No.6, Shu from Guilty Crown and Kou from HanaIro. Same can be said about Ai Kayano, who’s made us go DAWW by voicing Kanade from Chihayafuru, Menma from AnoHana, while WTF with Inori from Guilty Crown and Hibino from Kamisama Dolls. Watch these two closely for sure!
Boy, it’s been such a long long time since I’ve seen pilots gattai’ing and orgasming together. The first thing to note is music. For one, Yoko Kanno is a legend, and also involved in music is Ayako Otsuka, who did the music for another great mecha series, Zegapain. The opening themes by AKINO were fantastic, so much so that as soon as I’m done writing this, I’m going to go look for “Go Tight”. To the series itself, placing it so far ahead (12,000 year) of the original series is fine to not scare off newcomers, but for me, I wanna see Apollo and the others and not just settle for references to the past when Apollo was the savior of the day. CGI work was pretty sweet for the original back in 2004, and it does get very monster-of-the-weeky, but as there usually is, I’m sure there will be some underlying plot about how the terrorists want to save the world but feel they must destory it in order to save it or the usual crap. It’s fun, I’m audibly excited for it, but I will not be orgasming along with the pilots. I’ll just watch and laugh at that.

Even though I watched this and Shana at the exact same time, I find myself remembering waaay more of this than I ever will with Shana. Though sometimes annoying, these characters are just so much more memorable. So the basic storyline here is that this is the 4th and final season of Zero no Tsukaima, a story about some normal guy from Japan (Saito, who’s seiyuu is Satoshi Hino, therefore automatically making him awesome) being summoned to this alternate world of magic by a loli tsundere named Louise (voiced, of course, by Kugimiya Rie) who initially fails at magic, but it turns out she has some hidden power. Oh and during the previous 3 seasons, Saito builds himself a harem. I have to say that I agree with Hime in saying that season 3 was pretty bad, but since Saito and Louise have been exiled at the end of it, we won’t have to deal with Louise’s best friend/queen of the country they were in trying to get into Saito’s pants for a while (something that annoyed me to no end in the previous seasons). Anyways, for the actual production we have J.C. Staff (the same people who animated the other 3 seasons) and the director is Iwasaki Yoshiaki, who was the director for the very first season of Zero no Tsukaima, but not the second or third seasons.
// C O M M E N T S
This maybe come as a surprise, but despite my long standing hatred for Shana, I love Zero no Tsukaima. Satoshi Hino does a hilarious job bringing Saito to life and making the little pervert likeable and fun. Can’t say much about Rei as Louise, though she is one of the few tsunderes I can stand. I like the two of them, and how they work. The second season was by far my favorite and the most memorable. Season 3 was a bit of a bust – pun intended – with that annoying elf ruining the genuinely sweet ending the second season had by coming and monopolizing Saito’s attention with her massive boobs. To be honest I wished they had ended it with season two, but since these ecchi shows end up more prolific than the finest of serial killers I was never going to get my wish. That being said it has been quite a few years since I’ve seen these characters, and would be nice to revisit the good memories I have of them.
Final season of Zero no Tsukaima! I loved the first three seasons, well maybe not that third season; I hated that freaking ending. Anyway Hime is so damn right! The way they bring Saito to life makes me laugh all the time, while he is so perverted he does it well. Of course if it’s J.C. Staff you can always count on Rie Kugimiya to voice either the main character or a side one, although her character Louise is more of a combination of Shana and Taiga with magical powers thrown in for laughs.

Taking the idol character one step further, Senhime Zesshou Symphogear is about a vocal unit called Twei Wing who wear a “symphogear” in order to fight against Noise (monsters called Designated Abberrant Disaster). I imagine a superfluous amount of singing (and maybe dancing) is also involved. It is up to Kanada and Tsubasa to save the world with their powers and worm their way into our hearts (and our wallets) with their singing voices. At the very least, we’ll get some good music out of this show. As for the story and everything else….well….um…….

The only way this could work is if the premise of music as a weapon is used in a truly interesting way to fight the Noise. Otherwise, it’s going to be super corny. Satelight (Heat Guy J, Fairy Tail) will be animating it, so it should look okay but not anywhere near amazing. The director, however, really hasn’t worked on a lot of anime before this one, so any hope of a really good plot has dwindled to below 1%. Symphogear feels like the anime of the season that will simply be ignored and left to rot by most of the otaku and bloggers out there.

// C O M M E N T S
So basically we have Yuka Iguchi as Mirai Kohinata (Index from Toaru Majutsu no Index), Yuki Aoi as Hibiki Tachibana (Madoka from Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica) and Nana Mizuki as Tsubasa Kazenari (Fate from Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha). So in a nutshell we have Index, Madoka and Fate teaming up in the same series to save the universe from the Noise? Ahahaha this sounds so terrible but you know what? Ben-To had the same issue with a dumb ass story and plot but turned out to be really amazing so addictive. I have fingers crossed for this turning out to be something everyone can enjoy or just something we can laugh about. I am thinking the same thing as OC with possible singing and killing off monsters! I will wait for the girls to shout LISTEN TO MY SONG!!! Just as the monster of the week falls over and explodes.
The last time I saw anyone fighting something called Noise, it took place in Shibuya and most of the characters were dead. Anyways, it’s nice to see more Yuki Aoi characters out there since she’s still pretty young~. As for the story line, I guess it sounds interesting enough. I’m looking forward to the music and possible dancing here. Satelight does a pretty great job with the flashy magic in Fairy Tail, so hopefully that carries over here…Though if they’re killing things by singing, doesn’t that imply that they’re singing terribly…? Ahahaha…

A story of a girl named Kyono Madoka, who leaves her home and saves people in trouble with a giant robot? I think this studio wanted to take a few pages right out of Star Driver! Well, a few other anime have similar plot lines. This is going to be directed by Toshimasa Suzuki and it appears he is no stranger when it comes to giant robots and monsters as he did Heroic Age and Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor – Heaven and Earth. Voice work looks solid and I had to make sure I wouldn’t need another Hanazawa shot, thankfully it appears we have some fresh voice actors for this series. Like Asami Seto as Ran (Ayase Chihaya in Chihayafuru), Ai Kayano as Muginami (Inori in Guilty Crown) and finally the last main role going to Kaori Ishihara as Kyono Madoka (Reki in Hidan no Aria). A side note about this series is the fact that it premieres on my birthday, January 9th. Hopefully it doesn’t crash and burn.
// C O M M E N T S
Ok, so I’ve never been one to like shows with mecha. It’s just not my thing. So I’m not one to make a judgement on the originality of this plot. However, this show has caught my attention. Big time. First off, the premise is quite interesting. A girl who leaves her home and saves people with her giant robot. And it’s named “Woks” no less! There are so many things that could happen (and go wrong) with that sort of plot, which makes me very excited! Furthermore, the production of this show is pretty solid, seeing as there are some really good seiyuus involved in this work. I think the presentation of this show is really beautiful too. I simply adore the character designs and that jersey wear is HAWT. And quite honestly, I think I need a bit more diversity in my anime. BRING ON THE MECHA!!!! WOOH!!!
Now, the plot of this anime doesn’t sound too unique considering it is like one of those animes about a girl who gets pulled into the dangerous life of fighting for the sake of humanity. Wait, doesn’t that sound familiar? Well, there is Guilty Crown and Evangelion. But I’m sure there will be differences that will set this anime apart from this typical plot. Like 3 high school girls in their tight suits to fight off aliens but lets twist this more and actually make the girls unique with their own stories. One girl was a Jersey Club (WTF is that?) alone and recruited by another loner who seems robot like (hay thurr Ayanami Rei) and then the third girl has other motives for joining in (you could be Asuka). The actual mechas in this remind me of Candidate for Goddess with those heels on and the aliens are familiar to Evangelion monsters. But that’s just how mecha shows seem now a days. We can’t help but reference these new ones to already existing ones. So, I’m hoping that this series can bring some interesting things to the table. But if not, I’ll just bum off of Fosh and try to stick with it.

I’m on board with all of the romance series. I may be unpopular here, but I am really interested in Listen to Me Girls..
I think it might be a ‘pull the rug out from under you series’ Lotte actually did do that. It was a bit squicky until it got to be charming in it’s own way. Like Fosh, I’m going to be wary of bad tsundere jokes.

Ano Natsu looks and kinda feels like the spiritual successor of both Toradora and Ano Hana…so I’m not only on board, I’m setting my deck chair up and ordering the bubbly.

Kill Me Baby. Yes. Yes. And did I say, Yes?

    • Foshizzel says:

LOLLOL Yeaaaahhhh Lottes toy was good and not as sexual themed as most people feared…sure there were tons of loli-pantsu every 10 minutes ok maybe not every 10 mins….But hey! Whatever people be scared.

Toradora and Ana Hana and believe it or not…HoTD! I know shocking right?

Yep! I can’t wait to watch Kill Me Baby <3 It looks like Nichijou!

and anyway once again thanks for this informative post~

    • Ness says:

You’re welcome~! I still need to watch the series><; Then I'll be just as excited as you for the movie? :3

      • Mitsuki says:

I didn’t watch the Tv series after watching the first episode. No Puck and not that good animation quality=NO.
But I’ve read and reread the manga 3 times already and it’s still just as awesome as reading it the first time.
The reason why I’ve been so exited about the movie is that it appears that they intent to stick closer to the manga than the TV series and generally the first episode really told me everything I needed to know not to keep on watching.
AND THERE WILL BE PUCK *_________________*

    • Foshizzel says:

.Hack for the win! That CGI movie actually looks amazing, can’t wait to check it out.

Welcome! I hope you find lots of shows to watch in Winter.

  8. BlackBriar says:

Where did Fall go? That was incredibly quick to say the least. Well, let’s get started on Winter 2012.

Black Rock Shooter: I can’t believe we have to wait so long for Black Rock Shooter and I’m bummed that it’s only 8 episodes (Saw that on Anime News Network). That’s an irregular number for any series. What threw me off are the differences between the OVA and the series, like the artwork of the characters is not the same. Like Dead Master’s veil and glasses.

Senhime Zesshou Symphgear: This anime looks interesting. I always give a chance to anything that has supernatural in the genre. And since Aoi Yuki and Yuka Iguchi are part of the cast, it’s just another reason to check it out.

Nisemonogatari: Yes, Nisemonogatari is near!!! I’ve been itching to see what happens after Bakemonogatari which was badass. And this time, Koyomi’s sisters are taking the lead. At least it’ll help keep me occupied until the prequel movie Kizumonogatari comes along. And if I feel like it, I might put them in order and marathon the entire thing. LOL.

Another: The trailer alone had me creeped out even though there wasn’t much to show, not to mention the girl with the eye patch. Its genres are Mystery, Drama and Horror so I’m hoping that it will be exceptionally impressive though I’m not expecting it on Shiki’s level but would settle for Blood-C’s level.

High School DxD: Not sure what to expect so I’ll just wing it and see whether it deserves to watched or not.

Inu x Boku: Another supernatural anime, this time with a loli and a guy with two colored eyes? And he’s a fox demon? Maybe I’ll check it out. After all, first impressions are what counts.

Holy Knight OVA: Hmm… a vampire based OVA?! YES!!! Whew, I needed that because I was getting a severe backlash from vampire withdrawal and it wasn’t pretty. I’ll be eagerly awaiting this one. And hopefully, Kara, we’ll get a Bloody Cross adaption in the near future and for me, adaptions of Blood Parade and Mondlicht. And Overcooled, if you were interested in the vampire part and then you got scared by it, I think that’s a good thing. LOL. I see I’m not alone; there are few other vampire lovers here as well.

A pair of Rurouni Kenshin OVAs after so many years? What the hell took so long?! I was a little kid when it was playing on TV. I watched every episode I could.

    • Ness says:

I’m excited for the Kenshin OVAs. But this is just a remake from Misao’s perspective. I could have lived without any additions because of not expecting any. But stuff happens XD I’d totally buy the BluR releases if they were international.><

      • BlackBriar says:

A remake OVA? I hope they keep to the actual story and not screw it up or it defeats the purpose of having the OVA at all.

    • Foshizzel says:

DAMN FALL! Why so short? Seriously….

BRS- Yeah….I am really bummed out about that whole 8 episodes…I swear the first two better not be a damn recap! But I know we will have some sort of “what you forgot” episode. Worst case we can hope for some hr episodes? or 30+

Symphgear- That series sounds interesting, right! I will watch cause <3 Index's VA Yuka Iguchi.

Nisemonogatari- YES YES AND YES! I loved all of the characters from Bakemongatari they are all amazing, I bet people are drooling to hear Hanakazawa again.

Another- PA works doing horror? Thank you! ALL MY MONEY, then again I have yet to see a horror anime do much. I guess if you said Mairai Nikki? Does that count as horror? Anyway looks great.

DxD- I will watch anyway cause I am currently watching Maken Ki, yes censored to all hell but not as bad as some shows out there.

Rurouni Kenshin OVAs yay!! I hope we get action xDD

      • BlackBriar says:

I wonder if this season will go as fast as Fall did.

BRS: I hope those 8 episodes will be worth it. With Hanazawa playing the lead, it might turn out good. I want to see BRS’s other enemies.

Nisemonogatari: Let’s see how Araragi’s sister will pan out as main characters. The cast is pretty much the same except there will be no Araragi or Senjougahara. Why?!!

Another: Since this is supposed to be horror, it better deliver because not all anime seem to do well in the horror category (Unless it’s Shiki or Hellsing). And yeah, Mirai Nikki is supposed to be horror as well and it’s doing a good job so far.

Most of the shows I’ve seen on the list, I’ve seen Yoko Hikasa’s name. She’s even playing the lead for High School DxD. I guess she wants to create her own virus. But most of all, I’m extremely pissed that season 2 of Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka has been pushed to next season. *grinds teeth*. Hurry up, next season!!!

        • Kyokai says:

For Nisemonogatari. There will be Araragi and Senjou in Nisemonogatari, even if they are not the main focus. We’ll be seeing them around.
And you know, BB, time flies~ Spring will be coming before you know it. :3

    • Karakuri says:

An adaption of Bloody Cross would make my life. Seriously.

…I have a feeling that you’ll enjoy Holy Knight though XD.

      • BlackBriar says:

Yeah, having an adaption of Bloody Cross would have me grinning from ear to ear. I love it when Tsukimiya and Hinata are together and constantly trying to backstab each other for the book. For the record, they’d make a good couple if they weren’t trying to get one another killed. I love it when Tsukimiya is sucking blood from her victims, especially the way she did it to Hinata: By a bloody kiss. LOL.

For other good vampire manga out there, I strongly recommend the recent chapters of Dance in the Vampire Bund, Blood Parade, Mondlicht and Yougen no Chi.

I really hope Holy Knight will be great and I hope the mixed blood vampire girl bites a lot of people. The key part I really love is when they get a grip on their prey and bites them. In my opinion, the female vamps I’ve seen who have bitten a large number of people (or demons) would be Tsukimiya, Sunako, Karin and Mina Tepes.

  9. Overcooled says:

Oh man, I’m just getting a first look at the graphics Ness made for this list. AMAZINGGGGG. Is it bad taste to praise our own site’s season preview? Oh well….

I hope the next season is good, even if I don’t pick up anything new to blog. :3

    • Ness says:

      Thanks OC~!

I hope so too for the next season and that I have more time XD

    • Foshizzel says:

OC FOR GRAPHICAL PRESIDENT! Make it happen.

Tag teams for everyone! That tag team poster is going to get lots of shows complete…they are so cheating! xDD

  10. Reaper says:

Argh, so much to watch!!! Well, there it goes, my summer holidays just disappeared…:D Good work to the Awesome team of Metanorn!

  11. Joojoobees says:

Well done, guys. I definitely learned a few things.

  12. Samantha Zan says:

Wow can’t believe this post is up already! Great job again Metanorn team ^_^. But anyway, wow lotta shows for Winter, my picks are…

Black Rock Shooter: Ahhh the OVA was kind of mehhish in my opnion. Such beatuiful animation, but I expected more DX. Though I think its still gonna be interesting to watch though. So still on my watch list.

Amagami SS: AMAGAMI SS AGAIN??? I remeber reading the blogs with Hato-Kun. Wow can’t believe it got a 2nd season. Though it was an interesting to watch throughout. It wasn’t really a bad show for its type of genre, just usually think shows like that don’t get 2nd seasons. Though I’m pretty sure I’m wrong lol.

Nisemonogatari: Another Bakemonogatari stroy???? OMG SHAFT IS BACK IN ACTION. Though I don’t mind the focus on the Koyomi sisters, I hope we can see some of the other characters from before too. (I <3 Sejougahara)

Another: Horror, Supernatural…YES, YES, YES!!!!!! 8D

New Prince of Tennis: It was my first anime about sports. My god I miss this show….Bring back Seigaku 8D

Gyo: Junji Ito? The author who wrote Tomie and Uzumaki? I. AM. JUMPING. ONTO. THE. BANDWAGON. NOW.

I swear I thought I saw Kana Hanazawa like 3 times on the first page lol. Nice to know that she's still spreading her virus around xD

    • Foshizzel says:

      We are fast! Hooray!

BRS- Yep yep and yep! 8 episodes is sadness and suffering thou….lame but I will watch anyway.

More Amagami SS! Yep yep can we get more Nishishishi oh god yes I will make it my new ringtone.

DAMN THAT HANAZAWA VIRUS! Hopefully we all got our shots..

  13. Avalon says:

I could swear that the guys who created High School Dxd tried to copy S-Cry-ed powers. The hand that the main character got is a total rip off of Kazuma’s shell bullet lv2 arm.

    • Foshizzel says:

Well there is a girl just like that in Maken-ki! Gloved weapon of awesome, it totally adds 20% to her boob-jiggle.

  14. Avalon says:

hey did anyone take notice that Coppelion still hasn’t aired when it was supposed to air months ago. Whats with the hold up?

    • Kyokai says:

When we reviewed it last season, there was no info on producers, crew or even seiyuu cast so I think it has been shelved. We’ll update you whenever we hear about it. :3

    • Foshizzel says:

That series has flown under the radar, I haven’t seen a lot of DL links or any comments on it…seems like it failed before it got off the ground.

  15. amado says:

*once again, reserving this spot for my comment sooner or later*

    • amado says:

      likely to watch:
black rock shooter – needs more rockshooterXgoldsaw. seriously, those two scream more to me than pairing her with dead master.
amagami SS+ – well I watched some arcs including the extra 2 girls. romance here is actually good, I just didnt have time for the other girls 🙁
nisemonogatari – finally SHAFT is animating again next season. a sequel of bakemonogatari to boot. its one of their greatest hit, along with madoka magica.
another – you guys convinced me. seems like it will be interesting.

      might check out:
symphgear – *shrug* hoping for yuri and have a feeling on this…
rinne no lagrange – as you said, this one seems to be simple yet it can become better. definitely better than GC at least. potential for yuri too.
papa no lukoto wo kikinasai – dont judge me! anyway, the mom is called yuri so…
milky holmes – maybe if I saw 1st season. even Arudoc says this one was good(or was it jinx?). plus yuri I guess…

anyway, list will change depending on Divine’s preview(if he does make one this year).

      • amado says:

oh and I just realized that most all of the ones I put in the tentative list have the reason of “yuri” as the interest…

and I’ll post tomorrow about the OVAs and specials. maybe.

        • BlackBriar says:

Thanks for the motivation. If there’s any hint of yuri in any of the anime you mentioned, I’m sticking to it. There definitely needs to more yuri shows around. Girls trading spit and the possibility of them shamelessly getting it on is a plus anytime.

      • Foshizzel says:

BRS! Yes they better get to the other damn boss characters..I was bored with deadmaster…she was Zzzzzzz BORING!!

        More SS mmmm yes <3

The might check out list looks good! I want to see Rinne no Lagrange, that series is going to show 12 episodes and then it will take a break and continue in another season.

  16. Tofu says:

WHAT WAS THAT ANAAGA!??! D;< Do I see you HURLING over my precious K-On MOVIE!?!??!! lols oh yeah, great list Metanorn, keep up the good work ;D *totally just changed the sunbject and walks off like nothing happened*

    • Foshizzel says:

Some people can not handle the pure moe overload of K-ON! I want more Yui and Azunyan and yes a bit of Mio! Thanks man just don’t stay away forever Tofu.

      • Tofu says:

ahahaha of course Fosh ^^ I’m just playing around and as if I could ever leave Metanorn behind. This is where it all started for me :3

      • skylion says:

You know Fosh, several years ago, when Firefly first came on, my group of friends were able to divide people into “That that love Firefly and are therefor cool, and decent, and honest, and caring, and just generally all around awesome” and “Those that hate Firefly, and are not cool, and have unkempt hair, and spinach in their teeth, and are keepers of other odious habits, and not at all awesome.”

Same thing with K-On. You need no more a litmus test for people than the Moe Wonderful that is Yui. And Captain Malcolm Reynolds.

  17. Namika says:

The only show I’m actually excited for is Another I think this will be the only show I’ll be following from the winter season, if I will have time for it. I love the art and music is also pretty interesting. We’ll see, we’ll see. Aside from that, Danshi koukousei no nichijou (can you imagine a bolder name? xD) looks really funny and positive. I don’t think this wil be another Kimi to Boku, but nice enough for the laughs. XD

    • Foshizzel says:

Another for the freaking win! Can not wait to see how scary things will actually get..

Danshi looks absolutely hilarious have you seen the preview specials? Those are to die for…like the dress one and the RPG scene. Yeah that will not be another Kimi to Boku! This is like the perv cousin of boku xD

      • Namika says:

no, I haven’t seen any. xDD well, if it’ll be like a pervy cousin, maybe I’ll give it a try :3
        ^_^

  18. Toori-chan says:

To get things summarised, the anime I’m listing for Winter is everything except Senhime (not my style of music), prince of tennis and area no kishi (no fan of sports), high school dxd (too much boobage for the year).

The series I will be looking forward is definitely Black Rock Shooter. Other than that will be Nisemonogatari and Another. FYI I started immediately to marathon Aquarion to prepare for the next season.

    • Foshizzel says:

Enjoy some DxD! I will check it out…

Yeah BRS, Nisemonogatari and Another all look really good, have a fun time with Aquarion! I love the OP and music throughout that series.

  19. Masu says:

i am so excite about berserk: it is possibly the first manga to make me realize my interest in manga and anime weren’t just a passing phase. its basically everything i look for in a manga.

also, why y’all hatin’ on denpa onna? i thought that show was brilliant. :[ but thats just me.

anyways, the site looks so polished now i want to lick it. good work guys. :3

    • Foshizzel says:

I dunno Denpa as a great idea and theme, but ah well things are just failure after the 4th or 5th episode…I want to see the final episode just to see if they close any loose ends.

Ahahaha clean your monitor afterwards 😛

  20. Yippy says:

I read till the end! (Though not every single word, sorry!) Anyway, my picks for Winter are:

1)The Daily Lives of High School Boys- DAT PREVIEW

    2)Another- DAT ART.

    3)Rinne no Lagrange- DAT CGI.

    4)Amagami SS Plus- DA…THEM GIRLS.

5)Inu to Boku SS- DAT STORY

6)Nisemonogatari- DAT BAKEMONOGATARI (which I still have yet to finish)

I might check on Aquarion if I have some time left. Again, thanks for the summaries, comments and the handy chart guys!

    • Foshizzel says:

Highschool boys! BEST PREVIEWS OF ALL TIME! I always laugh so hard..and they are just 5 mins long.

Another- Yes please! PA WORKS good stuff right there.

Lagrange- Good CGI and character designs.

DO IT! Aquarion is good fun xD
