METANORN TEAM – SPECIALISTS

I’m the DDD’s official webmaster and now Metanorn’s Tech dude. I know 9 programming languages, including PHP, HTML, Python and Flash ActionScript. My obsession for computers started when I was around 7 years old when I had to learn my first programming languge, Python that is, because I wanted to be a hacker. Along the years, I found out the potential of programmation and decided to become a programmer. Then came my first website 3 years later, willisite.doesntexists.com. That was mainly a sandbox to learn PHP, HTML and CSS. During 4 years after that, I learned other languages like VB.net, C/C++. I also created my own Linux distribution which I named Will Server to host willisite.com and later the DDD’s blog. I got a contract for TVA (a television broadcasting company) at 16 which consisted in the programmation of a remote control on an iPod Touch. I also got some website contacts.

I started being an animé fan 2 years ago when a friend of mine, who goes along as The Suspicious Red Lamp, one of the DDD’s hosts, showed me Rosario+Vampire which I loved (now with more animés to compare it too, it’s plain crap). Then we both found out about other series and recommended some to each other. I mainly enjoy ecchi, mecha, slices of life and horror.

You won’t find any posts of me on Metanorn, because I don’t like writing much (well… except coding). But I’ll be around in the backstage taking care of the site’s health, maintenance and coding in general. My english might not be so good, since it’s not my native language, I come from Quebec so I speak French.

Hello! I’m Ness, yoro~! After much lurking around Metanorn I found an interest in ani-blogging and decided to apply to the staff. My hopes in ani-blogging is to share my experiences and views on anime, manga and dorama. While I might have different opinions than readers, I’ll keep an open mind. As well, I’m new to ani-blogging so please bear with me and I’ll do my best to bring out easy flowing reviews.

My road of anime fandom is very long and dates back to when I was 6 years old. I won’t write a novel of my fandom life, so let’s just say that my level of fandom is still going strong hah! The type of anime/manga that I like are from a wide range of genre. I like action, romance, comedy, horror, sci-fi, sports and more. What I watch depends on my mood and if my mood won’t let me watch anime there’s the next best thing – manga or manhwa. As well, I don’t limit myself to just Japanese manga, I’m a fan of Korean manwha and the different drawing styles. I’m also an avid Japanese and Korean dorama/movie viewer. I watch a wide range of dorama from ones based off of manga/manhwa to ones with the usual tragedy love plots.

I’m a pretty open minded person and I’m somewhat shy but after a while I’ll loosen up. I like to meet new people and take recommendations or suggestions given to mind. I have a wide range of hobbies from hanging out with friends, reading, writing, listening to music and playing video games. As well, I’m into art both as an admirer and an artist. My favorite artist would be Yoshitako Amano, the artist behind Final Fantasy which is also my favorite game series. I’m currently a part time working college student majoring in Graphic Design and Advertising Management. Anime and manga graphic arts most likely are what influenced my future planning. Well, that and I decided that if I am to do work most of my life, it would be in something I enjoy.

Hello everybody and indeed, I am Jrow and I’m the audio editor for Metanorn and the Metaverse podcast. I step in from hosting and producing the Anivision Podcast, which I’ve worked on for a couple years now. Podcasting is a format I truly enjoy as a fun format to express opinions and produce a show that people can enjoy, laugh at and get them thru the day. I’m excited to help Metanorn put out the best anime podcast there possibly can be. #1 on iTunes! We will settle for no less!

I live in Raleigh, North Carolina, a surprising hotbed of anime fandom that rolls out to the Animazement convention each May. Anime has been a part of my life for nearly 10 years as series like Ghost in the Shell and Dragonball Z served as the gateway to Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist and a couple hundred more series. I’m an ecchi guy, so putting some hot ladies in your anime will catch my attention, but I also enjoy action, drama, romance, sci-fi and sports series. I do some light manga reading, as I read One Piece and like occasionally picking up a manga volume from the bookstore.

My other hobbies include gaming and sports, both being how my Dad raised me (thanks Dad). I currently game on the PS3 and 360, and a couple of my favorite games of all-time include Metal Gear Solid & Half-Life 2. I love sports of all sorts, my particular faves being American football, baseball, hockey and racing. My fandom is stuck in my birth state of Ohio as I root for the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ya-hoo~! I’m Junko and I’m an artist working here at Metanorn! While I’m not the most active in throwing my weight about the interwebz, it seems like the top boss here has inticed me into drawing for Metanorn. Drawing is pretty much all I do, and where better to do it than at Meta?

I’m from wellywood, NZ, and no, I wasn’t in LOTR, funnily enough, because apparently everyone I know has been. Instead, I’ve been watching anime, reading manga, and doodling all over my workbooks. I’ve been (and still am) studying Japanese for a good part of my school life now, along side anthropology and linguistics in University. Ironicly I’ve never taken a formal art eduction, and I probably should..

I also adore Japanese fashion, especially lolita. No one’s quite been able to understand why I am willing to spend up to $500 on a single dress, but there in lies the madness XD I’m also a huge fan of PVC and trading figures, and currently have a collection of 100 or so and counting. Both of these are painfully exspensive hobbies but I love them, I love anime and manga and I love being here at Meta!

METANORN TEAM – ANIBLOGGERS

——————————————————————————————————————

——————————————————————————————————————

I’m Overcooled, the…cool one! Although, I think my fellow writers would be much quicker to call me “the violent one you need to be extra careful of.” Relax! I will only destroy you if you deserve it~. I applied to Metanorn on a whim just to see what kind of feedback my application would get, but I managed to not be so useless that I was asked to join the team. Since then, I’ve been writing up a storm without looking back. I love writing about anime and discovering what other people think of things so I can get a whole kaleidoscope of different views on the subject at hand. I post mostly episodics, but you’ll also see editorials and the occasional video game review from me.

My favourite types of anime tend to be dramatic, violent, dark and more on the psychological side. Don’t get me wrong, I also love really cheesy shows and slice of life, but anything bloody and full of ANGST always makes my day. I also love yaoi but I try to keep that to myself, since I find fellow fujoshi to be terrifying creatures that screech over their OTPs like harpies. I’m pretty open to anything with a good plot, unless it’s romance. Sorry darling, I just don’t do that sort of thing. Some of my favourite anime would be Shiki, Cowboy Bebop, Mushi-shi, Death Note and Durarara!!.

Outside of anime, I do other things (shocking, I know). I’m a third degree black belt who teaches at her dojo, and I also used to a whole bunch of other deadly sports before I got busy in University. I’m studying Neuroscience, and I hope to be some sort of doctor despite having a bit of a fetish for bandages and blood. This…might not go well. My other passion is video games, which takes up another huge portion of my life. If it’s not anime…it’s games. That is my life. Anyways, I’m sure you’ll get to know all of my little idiosyncrasies the more you read my posts. If you ever need anything, don’t be shy to rely on Cool. I’ll help you no matter how many people have to die~

Hello~! Name’s Hoshi and I’m very happy to become a writer here at Metanorn because I live in a cultural wasteland, and I find very few anime fans here in my town. What’s a hyper fangirl to do?! So I went to this glorious thing called the web and met so many awesome people to fangirl with, and now that includes all of you wonderful people here! I’ve been an anime fan since I was in middle school, almost six years now, and I’ve never stopped loving it. I’m a quiet person, but once you start talking to me about anime, or even worse mention my most FAVORITE anime ever, I’ll suddenly get extremely hyper. It’s like unleashing the ultimate fangirl beast mwuahahaha!

I’d like to call myself a manga connoisseur; I own more than 100 manga in my collection, and I’ve read tons more titles here on the web thanks to scanlation sites. Manga-buying has become a huge hobby of mine; no matter how many times my parents say what a waste of money if I finish them in twenty minutes, heh. Being such a huge manga fan, I favor manga over anime any day. ;D Other than writing, another hobby of mine is drawing, even though I’m not so talented in that department. I do have a Deviantart and add me if you like! Just email me for the username. :3

I also live a Korean and Japanese music lifestyle, other than my anime one. I got into Japanese music because of anime; I really loved anime opening songs, and one day I just went to explore the genres they had, and tada~! became a Jpop/Jrock/Visual Kei fan. I’m also a fan of Korean music, and K-dramas thanks to friends. I become extremely fangirly with those things as well<3 I’m a bit new to blogging about anime, but I’ll be trying my best, and just pouring out my anime fangirling on to the web ;D This has been Hoshi, goodbye~!

Ahoi hoi, your resident perverted princess here~! I’ve just been stolen from among the lurkers to become a part of METANORN. I reside in bonnie Scotland, unfortunately anime isn’t as massive here as it is in my heart, so when launching into rants and fangasms on my favorite shows I’m often greeted only by the silent confused stares of my peers. Sad times! Now, though, I’m looking forward to unleashing my ravings on all of you, fellow fans and lovers of anime! And, of course, I’m more than happy to listen to your ravings in return!

I’ve loved writing ever since I was a little kid but only really started doing it as a serious hobby two years ago. Since then I’ve been an aspiring author, but that’s wayyy in the future. Right now I just want to flex my creative muscles and write about things I love… or hate, strangely I’m as attracted to bad shows as I am to the good ones. I must love getting angry and ranting, I dunno, I guess I’m a masochist. Haha.

I can forgive a lot in a show if the animation is good, and I have a terrible weakness for plucky bishounen, but besides that I’m usually cynical and cruel to a show if it disappoints me. In the beginning I liked every single anime I watched, now I’m old and bitter! What I mean is… it takes a lot to impress me. >:) So beware anime-makers! I’m here to tear you a new one!

Hey, hey! Foshizzel here one of the new writers/guest blogger for Metanorn and I started blogging back in 2009 on Banana Muffin with Ruby and slowly began to review and follow more anime. Found blogging to be fun and a different way to spend my time online.

I live in Lakeland, Florida; it’s a small area in between Tampa and Orlando. I started getting into anime back when I was 15, thanks to seeing shows like Gundam Wing, Dragon ballz and a few random shows here and there online. I tend to watch mostly Mecha themed anime as a primary choice; however, I tend to watch 80% of the new stuff.

As for things outside of anime, I draw my own characters or try my hand at some fan art. Usually if a character catches my eye or is my favorite from that series, I’ll try drawing them. I also love to play video games, mostly action, fps or rarely rpgs.

Why, hello there! I’m anaaga! I’ve been a lurker at Metanorn for a long time, but due to some strange circumstances, I ended up being one of the new members of the Metanorn Team. I don’t remember the first time I read/watched anime/manga, but I remember that I grew up knowing about them. Probably that’s why I love anime and manga so much now.

My country is probably the country that has the worst traffic jam in Asia. At least for me ^^; I don’t know how to describe myself, but lots of people think I’m chatty and random? At least the people I’m close to. xD They also think that a black hole exists in my stomach, but that’s another matter. I don’t think I’m pretty good at writing since I’m not even done with school. So, please forgive me if you find my writing to be extremely unprofessional and poorly written… >.< Also, I’m kind of anti-social, since I’m actually a shy person (surprise surprise). I’m working on this part of myself though, don’t worry.

As for my preference in anime and manga, I’m into anything. I don’t even know what genre I’m into the most, because I just read/watch randomly. Actually, there’s this one genre I’m really into, and we all know what it is. For those who don’t know, it’s Yaoi. But of course, I judge all anime and manga based on their story, not their genre. What’s the use of reading or watching something that looks pretty but has a shallow plot? But sometimes I hate or like things because of the silliest reason, so I shouldn’t be saying that.

Hello, I’m Karakuri and after a long time of lurking here at Metanorn, I’ve finally gathered my courage and decided to try my hand at blogging! I’ve never done this kind of thing before, so be patient with me here, but I’ll try my best to make my reviews interesting (and hopefully) easy to read. I’m somewhat of a closet anime/manga lover because of the lack of otaku where I live in Canada, so it might take me a while to get used to opening up and talking here. I’ll probably be shy at first, but I’m pretty open minded about the opinions of other people and willing to listen to their thoughts on any series.

I began watching anime about 12 years ago with Sailor Moon and it just kind of expanded from there. These days I prefer seinen horror, and psychological anime/manga but I also have a soft spot for genderbenders (and the occasional fluffy shoujo romance series, though I’m somewhat ashamed to admit it). I will watch pretty much anything if it interests me, though I tend to stay away from sports related series because those tend to bore me (though I’m open to recommendations). I read both manga and manhwa, but I’m a bit picky in because I have to like the story AND the art before I decide to read anything. As for gaming, I am a HUGE Persona and Final Fantasy fan and will happily try out any game by Atlus or Square Enix.

Outside of blogging, I translate here and there (not very well unfortunately) and enjoy drawing. I’m an underpaid, overworked, almost graduated high school student when I’m not online, and I hope to major in character design once in college. Once again, it’s nice to meet you and I’ll be doing my best here~!

Hi! It’s zabobinator! I have been quite the super-lurker so it’s really exciting for me to be a part of the Meta Team. I have never really aniblogged before so this is going to be quite the new experience for me.  However, I find that I write best about things I love which, of course, includes anime and manga so this should end up rather nicely.  ;D

I have only recently gotten interested in anime/manga (I started about two years ago) but I absolutely love it. Art is very important to me in anime – if I don’t like the art, it’s pretty hard for me to watch something, let alone start it. I guess I’m an elitist in that sense. However, that doesn’t mean that I’m limited in what I like to watch. In fact, I happen to have a very eclectic taste in that I can watch something from any genre and love it. I generally really like anime/manga that engages me mentally and/or renders me unable to stop laughing. I go for tear-jerkers too. Studio Ghibli films are my favorite.

I am what I like to call a lazy-nerd. I believe that any further elaboration on what that means is unnecessary. Hehe. I’ll be starting college this year, hopefully majoring in something related to Biology. My interests range from running to sleeping (like a rock) to food to drawing to reading to dancing to music to anime/manga. Oh, and I speak Arabic. I’m a hilariously awesome person. Kind of a dork though. Nice to meet you! xD

Hello, my name is lvlln. I’ve been doing anime blogging on and off since mid-2009, including a one year stint over at Borderline Hikikomori. You could say that I’ve been an anime fan all my life, having grown up watching the likes of Dragon Ball and Voltron in the early 90s and just never stopping. Being a Korean American, I’ve dipped my toes into doing translations and subs; if you were a fan of Type-Moon in the last 5 years, you might have read some of my translations! I’m also one of the contributors to Mirrored Anime Screenshots.

I’m not too particular about what type of anime I watch, as I like to focus on the execution of a concept rather than the concept itself, and that’s something that transcends genre. That said, I have a very hard time watching works that are too light and fluffy. Slice of life is okay, but there has to be conflict! I’m not one to take anime too seriously, so comedies tend to be right up my alley.

Like a lot of anime fans, I enjoy video games as well, and I’m also pretty into the Vocaloid culture as a fan (my 2 favorite artists now: wowaka and supercell). I also have a passion for running, ultimate Frisbee, and fitness in general. By day, I’m a number cruncher working in Boston, which helps to explain why I’m a big statistics, finance, and general science geek.

Hey there! I’m Hawthorne, a dedicated fanboy to many different outlets of my growing fascination with all things fantasy and an aspiring university student with too much time on my hands. I’m incredibly excited to be a part of the Metanorn Team and hopefully I’ll be able to both inform you and entertain you to the best of my ability. I’m relatively new to this, but my interest in anime far outweighs any feelings of anxiety I might have. I’m overly emotional and analytical at times, but what teenager isn’t?

I’ve been watching anime for a few years now (not including the occasional episodes of Pokemon and One Piece I’d watch as a kid), but my interest in manga goes farther back. I have a pretty diverse affection for genres, my favorites being comedy, fantasy, romance, horror, mecha, and music-related anime, but I can’t really say I dislike any other genre because I can enjoy almost anything. Any series that can appeal to my emotions is one that will quickly make its way to the top of my favorites. If it makes me laugh, or cry, or angry, or depressed, or just makes me think about something in a non-superficial way I’ll appreciate it.

When I’m not glued to my laptop, I’m out enjoying any of the plethora of other interests that fill the long gaps of unspent time here in a desolate suburbia. I love role-playing games and horror games, horror films, Japanese and American music, reading, writing, jogging with my adorable corgi, and I’m also an avid activist for plenty of different issues at my school and in my town. Thanks for having me!

Hello everyone! I’m Miyu, and I come from the tiny island of Singapore, also known as the Land of Eternally Terrible Weather. It’s easy to spot me – I’m probably the one you see singing Japanese songs obnoxiously while skipping down the street. xD I’ve been stalking Metanorn ever since I entered middle school, and 3 years later, I find myself here as part of the team! -tears of joy- ;_;

My interest for anime was sparked by singing mermaids in frilly dresses (Mermaid Melody Pitchi Pitchi Pitch LULZ) when I was in elementary school, and since then my weekly anime as become an irreplaceable part of my life. I enjoy fangirling over bishies with friends and fellow otaku. *w* I have a soft spot for sappy romance stories in animanga, earning me my nickname as a hopeless romantic. Anything historical romance-related will definitely send me drooling. ^A^

My love for anime has actually expanded into an illogical love for everything Japanese! I am currently taking Japanese as my 3rd language (1st and 2ndbeing English and Chinese respectively). My iPod is stuffed with J-pop – I’m a crazy VOCALOID  fan and can spend hours video hopping on Niconico/Youtube. I also write fanfiction and design blogskins to fuel my love for anime! My other passion lies in singing (as you probably guessed), and I aspire to be a writer/singer in the future.

In short, I’m a really awesome person. :D (Have I also mentioned that I can be incredibly narcissistic at times?) Nice to meet you all! ^^
