Well, I’m up next for these 50 questions and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about revealing stuff about myself for people to read. … But here I am and I’m going to be brutally honest~. Yaaay(?) |
1. Who is your favorite male anime character?
Hands down, Ryner Lute from Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu. I really admire his outlook on life despite all of the crap that’s happened to him. … And his laziness. Mostly his laziness though. He’s followed closely by Keima from KamiNomi. That guy is pretty much my ideal (just flip his galges with otome games and you have my desired lifestyle pretty much… He can keep his harem and hectic lifestyle though.)
2. Who is your favorite female character?
Two years ago, it would have been Suigintou from Rozen Maiden… Though these days its more Naoto from Dogs: Bullets and Carnage and Maka from Soul Eater. …Or maybe Alice from Pandora Hearts. You know, I just can’t decide on one. But yeah, I like strong heroines who can kick ass when they need to. Hardworking is nice too. …Alice is kind of an exception though.
3. What is your favorite anime soundtrack?
I absolutely love what Kajiura Yuki did with the Pandora Hearts soundtrack. I’m quite partial to the track ‘Lacie’ (…or anything by Kajiura really).
4. What is your favorite anime opening + animation?
“Resonance” from Soul Eater. Not only is the song awesome, but I absolutely love the animation here. Dem camera angles. …You know, I had completely forgotten how much I loved this series until now.

“Friends” from Gundam 00 has always stuck with me for some reason. The combination of the vocals and the slice of life scene in an anime about war is just really powerful. …Or maybe it’s just post trauma from having one of my favourite characters die in this series.

6. What is your favorite anime scene?
Every time Nozomu goes “ZETSUBOU SHITAAAAAAA щ(゜ロ゜щ)” on Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Every. Single. Time.
7. If you could meet an anime character, who would it be?
Death the Kid. Oh the fun I’d have screwing with him… Or maybe he’d help with my design homework. It would be win-win (maybe) as long as he got it done in a week. Plus if he didn’t cooperate, I figure he would be very easy to threaten.
8. What anime character is most similar to you in terms of personality?
…Here’s where things get complicated. If I don’t know people well, I act a LOT like Shiori from KamiNomi where I’m painfully shy, all nervous and can’t speak properly because I overthink everything. Hell, half the time, I can’t even look people in the eyes. This isn’t much of a problem online, but if I had to do what I do blogging in front of you guys I don’t think I could handle it. With people I know better, I’d say that I’m a even mix of Sharon Rainsworth from Pandora Hearts and Alice from Pandora Hearts as well. I’m moderately genki and impulsive, but enjoy being depended on and I uh, get weird motherly impulses sometimes. Just call me Onee-chan, bitches. xD
9. What is your favorite thing about anime?
It’s an even mix between the animation itself and the storylines. You see a lot of creativity behind the stories that go on (…or at least I did before I realised that it got cliche) and every once in a while I’ll see something and go “Holy shit, that’s a great idea for a story.” The animation is one of my favourite things more recently because I’ve learned from experience that there is a TON of blood, sweat tears and hard work put into it. Even for doing something simple as making a character walk. Yes, there are a ton of corners cut for most anime, but that makes the great action scenes even more admirable.
10. What is your least favorite thing about anime?
….The weeaboos. No, I’m not condemning all weeaboos. I’m friends with a lot of people who fall under this category. However, I have problems with people who run around cosplaying in Chinese malls and yell about how much they love Naruto/Bleach/whatever when there is only 1 freaking anime-related store in a 40 store mall and 90% of the people there are old and just shopping for groceries. Seriously, go shout your love for Japan elsewhere. You’re not even proclaiming it before the right ethnic group and you’re just giving us normal anime fans a bad rep. The worst part is that this isn’t even a single occurrence. It happens all the time …with different people. …in different malls. …Er, yeah. Long story short, if you feel the need to disturb the general public within a 5 mile radius about your anime obsession, I have a problem with you.
11. Who are your favorite anime couple?
Sakura and Shaoran <3 OH MY GOD ARE THEY ADORABLE. …From the original Card Captors, though. I just don’t feel the same way about the Tsubasa versions for whatever reason.
12. Who is your favorite anime animal?
Luna and/or Artemis from Sailor Moon. I even have stuffed animal versions that have miraculously remained intact since my very abusive childhood.
13. What anime would make a good game?
FATE/PROTOTYPE. No, I don’t care if it was Fate/Stay’s original, technically already a game and whatnot. SOMEONE MAKE IT HAPPEN.
14. What game would make a good anime?
Here I go on otome games again, but I think Amnesia (…the otome game, not the horror game) would be a great psychological anime. …Or maybe I just want to see Ukyou go off on his insane yandere mode again. Though the outfits and character designs would look absolutely ridiculous.
15. What was the first anime you ever watched?
Sailor Moon. Good times.
16. Do you think you’ll ever stop watching anime?
Not in the foreseeable future.
17. What is your favorite genre of anime?
I instantly love any otome game turned anime, no matter how crappy the adaption is. Though I also really enjoy horror/psychological stuff (anything with blood really) and I’ve recently discovered that I quite enjoy those extremely long running shounen action anime as long as there’s minimal filler.
18. What is your least favorite genre of anime?
It’s ironic because I blog Chihayafuru, but I just do not like sports related anime. I’d also throw in slice of life in here, but I’ve just given up on not liking it since I never find it as boring as I think it will be.
19. Are you open about watching anime with people you know?
…Depends. The last time I tried watching Nausicaa with my mother, the amount of sarcastic comments she made almost had physical form. Forcing yaoi on my guy friends is hilarious though (more for me than for them).
20. Have you ever been to Japan?
Very, very, very briefly on an airplane transfer. 15 minutes at most. I don’t even think it really counts.
21. What anime was the biggest let down for you?
Higurashi Kira. I don’t like to acknowledge that it even exists.
22. What anime was better than expected?
Oh the irony! Higurashi. I came into it just knowing that it was a mystery (I was thinking something like Nancy Drew level mystery here xD) and that it had those Angel Mort outfits. …And then the next thing I knew, Rena was swinging a cleaver around and laughing like a maniac. Needless to say, I was beyond impressed.
23. What is the best anime fight scene?
The first scene from Soul Eater with Maka and Soul vs. Jack the Ripper. I’ve always like that scene for some reason. Or maybe even Maka and Soul vs. Chrona (I think it was the second time, though I’m not sure. Whenever Maka used the black blood. I like watching insane people in action.)
24. Who is your anime husbando?
Ones from my games aside, Kanda Yuu from D. Gray Man. He was my first anime husbando ever <3.
25. What was your favorite video game as a child?
Pokemon Crystal for sure. I still own it too X3.
26. Most Embarrassing moment?
AHAHAHA. I can’t believe I’m actually admitting this. A couple years back, I was playing Shuffle (an H game) and a couple of friends came over. I was at an H scene too, so I paused the game, closed the laptop and I left my friends in the room for some reason I don’t remember. …Or at least I THOUGHT I hit ‘pause’ but I guess I hit the autoplay button instead or something. I came back to two horrified people and the lovely sounds of Fuyou Kaede having an orgasm coming from my computer …They were extremely understanding despite not even knowing that such games existed before this incident, but I will never be able to erase their looks of sheer terror from my mind.
27a. Can you drive?
In theory, yes. In actuality, no. I’m okay with driving on deserted roads, but other people driving on the roads with me is terrifying.
27b. Do you own a car?
Ironically, yes. I’ve never driven it though.
28. Are you mature?
I’d say more than most people my age normally, but it drastically drops depending on who I’m with. …I usually appear more mature than I am thanks to me being quiet and untalkative xD.
29. What year were you born?
1993~
30. Do you prefer cats or dogs?
Cats. I love cats to death. … The only problem is that I’m mildly allergic to them. I love dogs too of course (seeing how I own two), but cats ftw.
31. Describe yourself physically.
Er… Asian? I’m about average height, brown eyes (I wear non prescription coloured contacts though… with my glasses). I have brown, hair that flips out that the ends as well. Uh… yeah. If there’s one thing I’m proud of though, it’s my badass metabolism that allows me to eat cake 5/7 days a week and not gain weight (…I’m active too, but it’s 90% my metabolism). Yeah that’s right. Be jealous.
32. What would you name your first child?
…Seeing how I’m convinced that my child will either grow up to be like Tohru from Fruits Basket or the Joker (the line is very, very thin), I have absolutely no idea. If it’s a girl, ‘Lin’ is going to be in there somewhere though. I want to carry on family tradition and all since my mother kind of …broke it. I was supposed to be ‘Mei’ but my mother was like “Nah, we’re whitewashing this shit.”
33. What is the worst injury you have ever had?
Maybe a bruise on my arms from volleyball…? I don’t injure often.
34. What is your worst habit?
I have this terrible habit of staring off into space and blanking out while deep in thought. I have severely creeped people out by not realizing that I’ve been staring at them for 15+ minutes with a blank look on my face. ….Uh, I also have a sadistic streak where with a few certain people, if they need help with something I uh… I kind of like to watch them struggle for a bit. I’ll always help them eventually or else I’ll feel guilty, but yeah. （゜-゜；） I don’t know if I count as being dependable or not.
35. Do you drink or smoke?
I don’t smoke and never plan to, but I drink with friends a fair bit (I have a pretty high tolerance level ヽ(´ー`)ﾉ ). …I’m in no way, shape or form an alcoholic though.
36. Do you have a tattoo?
Nope, but I go to art school. Tattoos are nearly mandatory. I have plans to get one though. Probably something like a small pair of wings on my back or similar. No elaborate yakuza tattoos though. BRING IT ON.

37. Are you a morning person or a night person?
AHAHAHA I’m definitely a night person. Getting up anytime before 9am (…which is every day) puts me in a bad mood.
38. Have you ever slept past midday?
…To tell you the truth, I don’t think I ever have. My internal clock won’t let me sleep past 11:00 no matter what.
39. Do you regret anything?
Tons of things, though mostly I really regret being such a stuck up ojou-sama as a child. I really wish I could apologize to my friends from the time for being such a massive bitch.
40. Can you count the number of friends you have on one hand?
Nope. Despite being painfully shy and antisocial in RL, I somehow have managed to form a pretty good social circle~. My online friends are awesome too, of course. ヽ(*・ω・)ﾉ
41. Do you wear glasses?
No. ………………Only joking. You’re talking to the megane-chan here. Of course I wear them.
42. Are you a picky eater?
Oh yeah. I really dislike tomatoes. ….Other foods too, but mostly tomatoes (I’ll still eat them if I have to but I avoid them when possible). I’m also restricted by food allergies too. Soy lecithin (which is in pretty much every chocolate bar ever not that it stops me from eating them) and a whole bunch of other things make me sick if I eat too much or if I eat them in a certain combination… So I’m pretty conscious of what I eat.
43. Would you die for someone?
Anything for my friends.
44. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Hmmm, maybe just an extended lifetime? Life would be so much less stressful if I knew that I had more than about 100 years to accomplish everything I wanted to. …I’d kind of like to stay young-looking though. Immortality sounds nice, but at the same time admitting that I want it sounds weird to me. Plus then I could blog on Metanorn foreeeeeeeeeeeever.
45. Do you believe in the supernatural?
Somewhat. I do believe that there is something else out there.
46. Would you rather be rich or famous?
Definitely rich. I could never handle being famous. I hate being put on the spot.
47. Have you ever committed a crime?
A severe amount of j-walking. …And I hack my friend’s PSPs among other electronics on request. I’ve gotten pretty good at it too. …I really shouldn’t be admitting to this. I’ve also broken into my close friend’s lockers to troll them by rearranging their stuff or similar stuff before (never with bad intentions, but just to see their reactions~). I’m pretty good at that too, but it’s still probably illegal on some level. I’M SORRY FOR BEING A BAD PERSON!!! (ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ
48. Pirates or ninjas? Time Traveler or ghost?
….A ninja time traveler? I like pirates and all, but I dunno how I feel about living on the ocean. …And I imagine it would be hard to establish my career if I was ghost.

Oh god I hope not. The last time someone had a crush on me, it ended in stalking. I do not enjoy being stalked whatsoever.
50. Are you in a relationship?
Not currently~☆. Every relationship I’ve ever had has ended horribly OTL. See above for an example.

Higurashi was awesome, but I already expected some gore already since the creepy atmosphere and yandere looks in the OP and first chapter kinda gave it away. However, I did not expect that much violence and gore though. Definitely a gem, barring the thrilling but unsatisfying ending…
Man, if I were in your shoes when your friends heard the H-game sounds, I don’t know what I’d do. Nozomu’s trademark shout would be appropriate, don’t you think?
I haven’t met much annoying weeaboos myself, but I think we all go through that phase when we discover something we like. Being annoying and troublesome to other people though, is another matter…
And one more thing, you wrote that they’re not proclaiming it to the right ethnic group. Don’t you think that sounds a bit…harsh? Hobbies and interests go beyond ethnic lines, Metanorn’s writers are proof of that. I don’t think it’s fair to criticize the person’s actions based on the ethnicity of the mall’s customers or shopkeepers. Do I think the guy’s annoying and giving Japanophiles a bad name? Yes, but I don’t think the race of the crowd he’s harping to should matter (their tastes, perhaps, but never race).

I definitely was not expecting Higurashi to be that good, despite the creepy awesome OP. ….That ending was lacking something, but honestly, I didn’t like the second season or the ending to the first season all that much.
LOL I was close enough to that point. We just kind of sat there in silence until I paused it. My first words were stupidly “Oh crap. I thought I paused that.” too so I couldn’t even try to make it look like an accident OTL
Ah, that. I’m just indirectly quoting one old man’s sarcastic comments about “….They know we’re not Japanese, right?” The thing about the community in that mall (or in that area in general) is that a lot of them are convinced that the entirety of Caucasian teenagers are uninformed, loud, and obnoxious thanks to the media and incidents like this and a lot of them can’t speak English, so they don’t really know better. In all honesty, the ethnicity that they’re proclaiming to doesn’t matter. It’s just that the places I go to are already biased enough (my Caucasian friends get glares sometimes when they aren’t even doing anything) without stuff like this happening, so when it does happen, I get pissed.

What name would you give the team between you and OC? And I think there are different kinds of immortality, like magic based or being inhuman. “Supernatural stuff would make life more interesting”, huh? LOL. Then I’d definitely send something (a monster) your way, if you know what I mean.
If I had that ability, I’d start by:
– Repairing that anti-climactic end from Mayo Chiki. It still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth for such a great show and Kanade is my favorite character.
– Make a lot of changes in Guilty Crown and Deadman Wonderland.
– Based on my bias, I’d change the outcome in Shiki for my personal amusement and have the Rosario + Vampire animes follow the mangas exactly.
– I’d create more dramatic scenes like this from Trinity Blood: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-y2REQXPgs. That was such a seductive vampire scene and I’d have the boy bite the girl since she offered her neck.

18. Would you say because Chihaya has such a shoujo vibe to it that you’re able to like the sport part of it? It’s kind of interesting because I went into it more for the shoujo stuff, and while the cards are kind of just there for me, the sport is more enjoyable than I’d a thought.

Yeahh, I think that was the most awkward minute of my life.
I keep hearing good things about Eyesheild 21, but I keep putting it off since sports shows bored me to tears as a child. I don’t know how I feel about them now though since Chihaya is the first sports show I’ve watched in at least 4 years.

YES. Shirou annoyed the hell out of me, but Ayaka is a different story. Everything I’ve read about Prototype just makes me want to play it more.

…To tell you the truth, I learned to hack things just to fit in with the stereotype. People were disappointed when they found out that I’m not very good at dealing with computers, so I found something else to do xD

9. Haha I think I learned that from watching Symphogear! XD The episodes where there’s weird walking scenes usually turn out to have awesome fight scenes.

The ending was kind of… begging for a second season, but up until that point, Densetsu was amazing! I don’t get why people didn’t like it that much.
