Metanorn’s 6th Year Anniversary

Metanorn Team 2014

Year 6 and counting… (✿◠‿◠)

Another year gone. I still remember those wide-eyed days when I happened across Metanorn and was fascinated with its content. After few years down the line, this aniblog has come a long way with many more years to go. I can say this even more safely because I’ve recently renewed the Metanorn domains for good. In aniblog life, we are crossing the tender age of a teen but as we have a varied cast of authors; hopefully, we won’t get too loud for our audience!

I will give the credit to two big parties for our Sixth Year Anniversary: Metanorn Team (Overcooled, Foshizzel, Karakuri, Jrow, Ness, Will, Anaaga, Hoshi, lvlln, Highway, Sumairii, Skylion and our alumni, who are all STAAARS), and the amazing Commentors. Yes, our lurkers get a shoutout here too but hey, we would like to see most of you delurk and participate in our community because it’s more fun! Before I get sentimental, let’s hear it from the Team:

From Metanrn Team, with Lve

Aniblogs may come and go, but Metanorn is showing no signs of going any time soon. What has kept Metanorn alive for so long? It’s a combination of having a great leader to keep things under control, a pool of active writers to keep the content flowing, and tons of avid commenters and readers to form the basis of our friendly community. We pour our hearts out on here, and so have our readers. It’s been an amazing experience writing here with so many other talented bloggers. Metanorn is truly something I can be proud to be a part of, and hopefully I can sing some more praises when year 7 rolls around!
Woooooooooooooooo! Metanorn has been around for six long years? Damn that is quite impressive for any blog and I still remember when I first joined long ago! Much like Overcooled as has asked what has kept us around for so long? I feel the commenters keep me coming back just to see what they have to like or dislike about a certain series and I am happy to have the freedom to present a post in either written format, mini-talk or random youtube video. That said I don’t think we would be as far along without all of the hard work that everyone shows with every post we publish, so I have to say a huge thank you to the team and especially to all of our awesome readers. Now let’s aim for seven years for Metanorn!
6 years! This blog is growing up so fast… Congrats to the team for getting it this far (you’re all such awesome people to work with~)! Also, a huge thank you to the readers, commenters and lurkers out there who keep the site relevant. Metanorn is such a great community to write/converse in without the usual drama that some internet sites get and it wouldn’t be anything without you guys who come and read and comment on posts. So once again, thank you so much! I’m extremely happy with all of the years that I’ve spent here so far, and let’s make the upcoming year seven even better.
6 years running, that’s some dedication right there! Congratulations to ourselves for providing great content that keeps you, the reader, coming back for more! Congratulations to everybody on the staff for being parts both big and small in keeping this blog active, fun and engaging for the masses. We are great, and you dear reader are lucky to witness it! …All pompousness aside, I’m sure it’s actually quite easy for Kyo and us to keep this blog rolling along nicely when there’s anime to be watched, plenty of us on the staff to keep flinging anime blogs at you daily and plenty of readers and lurkers that add worth to the stuff we post. Thanks to all for keeping this fun!
6 years and we’re actually still running. To be honest, I really don’t know what to say right now. I’m literally speechless because it’s been 6 years, and we’re not showing sign to stop blogging anytime soon. That’s really a long time, even longer than my longest relationship *sob* Metanorn Team has been great for being able to stay strong and keep up with aniblogging despite of their busy real life, especially Kyo who has been an awesome boss until now. Metanorn Team and Kyo are awesome. Of course, the readers are also awesome. Without its readers, Metanorn won’t be the way it is now. Thank you readers for making Metanorn the way it is and always tolerating our late posts more like mine! And again, thank you Metanorn Team and Kyo for being awesome!

You know, when I joined Metanorn at the start of 2012, it was already a pretty well established and long-running blog. Hard to believe that almost 2.5 years has passed, and we’re now entering year lucky number 7 of its existence. I have to hand it to Kyo for keeping the site going through the years, cycling in new writers as needed while also keeping a core group intact for the long haul. It’s that tradition of strong personnel management that has kept us alive and kicking for so long, and I’m proud to have been a part of it for such a significant chunk of its life. Here’s to another 6.

Congratulations to Everyone on 6 Years of Metanorn! And I do mean everyone, from Kyokai to all the writers to all the commenters to every single person out there who has ever come to the site (except maybe the comment spam bots :P ). I’ve super-enjoyed my two years with this community, and I’m proud and pleased to be a member of it. Hopefully we’ll all be able to keep scratching your itch for good commentary and information on anime and all its associated fandom. Thanks for everything!
It’s Metanorn’s 6 year anniversary! In celebration of the fact, we have prepared lasers and uggs for every single one of you readers! Just leave a comment below with your address or nearest PO box and you too can be a proud owner of the finest lasers and uggs the world has to offer. Okay I jest, but really it’s thanks to you readers for keeping Metanorn such a lively place. Without you guys, it would just be us writers babbling on to no one in particular. So here’s looking forward to yet another great year of discussion and commentary on all things animanga!
Oh man, if six years of Metanorn isn’t exciting, then I don’t know what is. Every anniversary is just totally amazing, and of course it’s all thanks to the lovely Kyokai and the brilliant team here who put in so much work. Even though it’s been another unfortunate year of sparse posting from me, I’m always happy to be a part of Metanorn and to be able to come back, when I can, to a community like this. It’s thank to you devoted commenters that make this such a great and fun place to come back to. So to you commenters (and lurkers!), thank you as always for stopping by. I hope you all will stick around for however many more years to come.~
I’ve been here nearly three years out of that six, and the fun just hasn’t stopped. I’m happy to be a part of that, in all the ways I can. I do this because I enjoy everything everyone does. From the commenters to the writers, to everyone that visits and will continue to do so. All of us make a site that continues to be inviting without all the usual fandom storms. Everyone is energized and eager to carry on the conversation. Thanks and let’s get cracking on more.
Indeed, let’s keep on cracking because it’s fuuuuuun! \(^▽^@)ノThe team keeps on churning posts on latest animanga, not because we love writing wall of text but rather share our thoughts with the community for a fruitful discussion. That has been our goal and we shall continue with the same for future years to come. Now, let’s zoom towards my favourite hobby: reminiscing good times under our previous year’s highlights. And let me say this, we border on our 7th years quite fashionably. Let’s face it: 11.2Million visits, with 4,508 posts, 84,000+ comments, 6,450+ tags, 507 categories, more than 4332 nicknames used while commenting and 1.4M spam blocked. Yeah, our spam monster knows no limits.

These are quite impressive figures and I have to thank the Metanorn community in making it all possible and keeping us on our toes throughout the year. Thank you for hanging out with us everyone! Before the good things, I have to apologize on two counts: for being unable to continue Readers’ Choice Awards for 2013 because of lack of time; as well, for missing Highway’s birthday (this one just missed our organizers’ radar completely) (|||❛︵❛.)… A big GOMEN and on a positive note for our 7th year: we plan towards simplicity and getting things done! Now on to more good things!

Again, thank you everyone for sharing in our amazing community! We shall keep you entertained like always~

Well hopefully I’ll be around more, Usually i don’t read many blogs but maybe this time I will, Nice to meet you all and lets get to know each other this year and beyond! please take care of me, Senpai’s!

So for those that never knew, or Fosh doesn’t talk much about me, that punk! Fosh is my RL brother, we normal watch everything together so that pretty fun, and I never left comment for his post! ha! And as for Skylion, i dunno who you are but you made me come here to comment, i guess thats something, maybe it your love for LOLi, or because you like shinobu as much as me, so lets get to know each other this year and more! Same for the rest of you I havint got to know much yet!

Anyways enough about that, I wish to Congratulate Metanorn and The team with a fun-kawaii-totally-ultra-cool with awesomesauce on top 6 years! and hopefully there will be a lot more to come! Awesome job guys keep it up! And I’ll see you in the comment!

    /salute
    Stay kawaii my friends!

    • skylion says:

I will have no problems staying kawaii…I am the Middle Age Moe of the Team!

Look. I already have BB breathing down my neck about Shinobu. If you want to join the tussle that’s fine, more cheap laughs for me I guess. But you cannot team up with him. I will scorch the earth. LOL!

So we keep posting and you keep commenting! Yay. Win-Win. Lurkers, say something, YO!!

      • Di Gi Kazune says:

        Umm… commenting…. um…

        LOLIS AND SHOTAS FOR EVERYONE?

      • BlackBriar says:

Breathing down your neck about Shinobu, eh?

I don’t mind the team up as long as I win full custody of the little former Heart-Under-Blade. One must do what is necessary, even if it means complete overkill. ;)

        • skylion says:

I only meant that as a minor, trivial detail. Something to let the newbee poster feel at ease. I am sure of my defenses.

          • BlackBriar says:

Overconfidence will be your downfall. Never underestimate a determined adversary. Hehehehe…

    • Highway says:

It’s been good to have you as one of the new voices around here, thorgriim! While I never want to see the people who are here stop posting comments (and presumably stop coming by), it’s a fact that it happens, and getting more new people is always good. The writers at Metanorn all love getting comments on their posts and having that dialogue with readers.

      • skylion says:

New voices are awesome, and it’s cool to have my Metabro’s bro in the mix.

        • thorgriim says:

Woot Senpai’s! noticed me! *celebrates with confetti*
I’ll do my best to provide fun entertaining comments and hopefully continue doing it!

Thanks Highway senpai! It’s awesome to be here in the comments and share my opinions on anime and what I just watched, keep up the work and ill be sure to check out your posts in the near future!

I’ve noticed post come out soo fast its hard for me to sit and read for hours! Gomen! Gomen! but ill try to break that! ..Must…hit…5000 post counts….err wait

And Skylon senpai, -bro fist and okies i wont join him for the earth sake.. but I will be the one of many Shinobu fan boys! shes the best LOLi of all..that is all! Though My girl Sakura from cardcapters could take her in a fight, for sure! *snicker*

          • skylion says:

            …son, Sakura wouldn’t know what hit her…

As far as posting speed…I hit it while it’s hot!

            • Di Gi Kazune says:

              And Nanoha would befriend Shinobu.

            • skylion says:

              …not in a million bloody years…

            • Karakuri says:

…Hmmm “kyuuketsuki punch” vs. Nanoha’s “befriending”

            • Di Gi Kazune says:

And only young nanoha counts. There is currently no 3rd season of Nanoha.

And hurry up with this week’s nanoha gets befriended in shiritori! :P

            • skylion says:

Shinobu would just eat Cards like there was no tomorrow. Mr. Donut would provide more entertainment to her.

            • Di Gi Kazune says:

              What about the nothingness oddity?

            • thorgriim says:

okay, you may be right about that one, but thats a lot of paper to eat, But there are some really overpowered cards that if used right could pose a threat.. but These two probably should never meet..

Sorry Sakura! your still my #2!*headpat*

    • Kyokai says:

Oh, I’ve known you for a while, thorgriim! And of course, via Fosh because you guys mostly watch things together. Good to see you active on Metanorn and keep up with the discussions because we love it!

  4. belatkuro says:

Congratulations Metanorn. I’ve only been in this site for 1/3 of its life but I continue to visit it almost everyday without fail from that point. I haven’t been commenting much though due to several reasons but I’ll try to drop by at times(still aiming to be on the top 15 commentors).
This site wouldn’t have been staying this long if not for the awesome team with a passion for anime and blogging. And of course there’s also the support of the readers and followers. Everyone did a good job to make it this far.

Here’s to another 6 more years, though that depends if anyone on the team still likes anime at that point but that’s probably moot. I’ve already made it a point that I will continue liking anime for as long as I live and as long as I get entertained by it. Everyone probably feels the same too.

PS It will be at least 6 months worth of Fate incoming with Illya next season and F/SN on Fall. Get hyped.

    • skylion says:

I’ve been around for about as long, and it’s always good to have you drop by, any time. Thank you very much for the support and discussions, that is what I love about the place. You’ve commented on my recent posts, and I love that, but I also appreciate seeing you elsewhere.

Oh, yes, get on the Fate train. I’m champing at the bit for Illya especially. See ya there!

    • thorgriim says:

Yays for Illya! can’t get enough, and boy did i call a F/SN redone, hopefully it be good, though I’m sure many others figured they redo it hehe

    • Di Gi Kazune says:

      Chloe von Einzbern.

    • Kyokai says:

Thank you, belatkuro. RL can be tough so no worries; whenever, you have time just come on over and join us.

And I cannot wait for FSN already. This year is a good one for TM fans. On another note, who do you think became the owner of a brand new TM anniversary book? ;)

    • BlackBriar says:

Here’s to another 6 more years, though that depends if anyone on the team still likes anime at that point but that’s probably moot.

Anime is the one thing I’m certain I’ll never dislike because it has genre variety and is one of many temporary escapes from reality after a stressful period of time.

  5. Joojoobees says:

    Congratulations on the anniversary!

Peace and Love to you all.

  6. Jrow says:

I always look forward to the updated team banners. I’ve grown to like the Arise style of Major.

    • skylion says:

I should have stuck with Shinobu….

    • Kyokai says:

Adding to Jrow, I’m always amused by all of us stabbing, kicking, flailing at each other as well. :3

      • thorgriim says:

oooh it’s a wild Kyokai, I heard about you! So kicking and stabbing are allowed.. okies i’ll keep that in mind!

portrayed as a girl hmm… Skylion don’t do it! save yourself! It’s a trap!

        • Namika says:

Aint no one afraid of traps here! *~*

          • Kyokai says:

@thorgriim, Virtual kicks and stabs are fine. It’s all playful in the end~ ;)

Though, like Namika said, no one is afraid of traps here and skylion volunteered till the last moment.

    • Ness says:

Glad the team banner is appreciated hahaha.

As for the stabbing and stuff, I dunno how that happens. You guys just somehow end up picking action pictures hehehe.

      • anaaga says:

I just realized that my avatar and lvlln is always side by side. The convenience of liking characters from the same series, teheh

        • Kyokai says:

@Ness, and you somehow place them exactly on a stabbing/kicking position ;)

          @anaaga, TM love ftw.

  7. Namika says:

Btw. That new Durarara banner. That shit is bananas *~*

    • Kyokai says:

IKR? Chose it for the exact reason. I am feeling so much nostalgia! Not to mention, the anime titles used in anniversary banners get a lot of traffic for the site.

      • Namika says:

        Those feels ;_;
So, it’s like getting 2 birds with one stone :3 behehee

        • Kyokai says:

I am stalling on reading the novels ahead. I hope the new studio does a good job with it.

  8. Cybersteel says:

    Need Moar Metafap.

    • Kyokai says:

I think the guys are covering most of the relevant series this season individually so moaar fun for you all then.

    • Highway says:

Maybe if the new MC’s for Daimidaler stay not horrible someone will pick that up. That first guy sucked, tho, and the show is so stupid.

    • anaaga says:

      Need moar yaoi love

      • d-LaN says:

So I assume you have plans for the DRAMAtical Murder anime? =)

        • anaaga says:

Send email for Studio IG every day to make a DMMD anime

But I need to finish my DMMD post first

          • d-LaN says:

Isn’t there ady an anime for DMMd coming out in summer 2014? Its animated by NAZ though.

            • anaaga says:

HOLY SHIT THERE IS A DMMD ANIME THIS SUMMER.

              But damm, NAZ

            • Kyokai says:

anaaga, who gives a shit, even if it’s NAZ. They did Hamatora and that was not so bad. Noiz animated should be good. :3

  9. Irenesharda says:

Congrats you guys. I’ve really enjoyed myself here on Metanorn and I love the sense of this being more than an anime blog, but of this being a sort of close-knit club that we’re all a part of. I actually feel a sense of community and homeyness despite us all being from all over the world. I’m glad I found my way here.

Here’s to many years more. :D

    • skylion says:

      …that’s what I love about the place…

      • thorgriim says:

What majestical awesomesness magicalsauce place did I just walk into! *looks around and stays a while*

Thats what I’m starting to see now…

        • Kyokai says:

Good to see you more active around here. Keep up the good work! :3

      • BlackBriar says:

My rival and I are in agreement.

    • Kyokai says:

Thank you, Irenesharda, for hanging with us! :)

    • BlackBriar says:

I couldn’t agree more with absolutely everything you’ve said. In a sense, Metanorn is like a second home, even if the residents are separated by a great distance. Despite that, we’re practically next door neighbors.

  10. BlackBriar says:

Oh, it’s so good to be back. Sorry I’m late for this post and the festivities, Meta Team. I’ve been busy all week passing my school exams, had to travel to the neighboring French territory in the Caribbean to do so and the place I was staying was deprived of any internet connection.

6 years have passed us by now. Wow, that’s pure awesomeness and shows a lot of dedication from both bloggers and commenters. Of those 6, I’ve been a commenter for 3 and a half years this month and it’s hard to believe that it’s been so long. A lot of congrats on your achievements, everyone!! Looking forward to year 7.

    • Kyokai says:

No worries, BB! Hope you had fun and your exams went okay!

Time sure flies and I still don’t believe that I have been managing this site for YEARS. Wow, but still it’s an awesome experience and it becomes awesomer because of the amazing community that we have due to the team and commentors. ^^

  11. Cassandra says:

Just recently discovered METANORN. I wished found the site faster! I really like how you guys all work in a way as in different projects and its everyone contributing to add to the whole. Really like it.

As a commentor and less a lurker glad can read everyone’s writing. Its really eye-opening on more than a few occasions. It has also helped me better judge my real thoughts toward whatever anime series currently watching.

Wow. The 6-year highlights for exclusive interviews: Livetune and Redjuice. So amazing.

    • Kyokai says:

Oh, welcome, Cassandra! I remember your comment on Facebook and thank you for visiting and commenting. From our views, this place would be positively buzzing if every lurker commented but we have many faithful commentors who keep the place lively and actually take part in the community. Definitely with time we have grown and bagged some amazing content and interviews in process. Media passes are hard to come by but try.

Anyways, thank you for your feedback, which is very valuable to us. I hope you keep having a good time here! xD

      • Cassandra says:

        Hi, Kyokai:)
Yes, I am having a good time and yep that was me on Facebook. Thankful to the writing everyone puts out. Glad can be around.
