10 Million Views and Counting

10M-main

We are still flaunting organized chaos and take fangirling seriously. A humble THANK YOU to our community is in order.

Hello folks, enjoy some fitting music while I give you a new-old news because this actually happened on Saturday, 26th October, 2013, morning, but that ‘counting’ covers it up. Yep, we have crossed another milestone in terms of counted views (don’t get me started on our raw numbers, I’ll let Will handle that), having passed 10,000,000 views! And this time, I was awake to catch the moment while it passed. It’s been two years since I compiled a commemorative post on 5 Million views and what do you know, Will was right in his prediction for multiplier effect. And mind you, this is after Google re-configured their search algorithm, specifically for images reducing our usual trend of media hits. Though, we have lessened the usage of images per post with time (due to high consumption of bandwidth), we still achieved this goal. Compared to the gallery/screenshots flaunting aniblogs, our actual reviews get more views, which is saying something.

Time sure flies fast but I still remember the fateful day when I inherited Metanorn and started this journey alone but soon acquired talented team members; some of whom are still around, while some parted ways mostly due to RL. Each and every one of them are brilliant in their own right, bringing varied content and diverse taste enriching every Metanorn post. So, a BIG THANK YOU goes out to the Metanornies. Overall, it’s been an amazing journey and all because of our wonderful community (readers/lurkers alike). A GIANT THANK YOU to Metanorn Community, regulars and lurkers alike, who have kept us motivated to share our opinions about seasonal animanga, games and miscellaneous content that caught our fancy. As we have celebrated our fifth year anniversary few months ago, I won’t be boring you with too much detail. But in terms of highlights, let me share some below:

  • 10+ Million Page views
  • 1.15+ Million Unique views
  • 0.5TB bandwidth usage with around 8 million requests per month
  • 4,000+ Posts
  • 74,800+ Comments

It seems we have been around for ages and whatever the case maybe, we are not going anywhere anytime soon. So, stay tuned for our usual seasonal coverage along with the sporadic special posts. Now, let’s hear it from the rest of the Metanories!

summer11-willBack when we reached 5M I predicted the 10M to happen 2 years after that milestone, it appears that I was right on! In the past 2 years there was yet again some changes to the backend as Metanorn kept on growing, sometimes faster than I could anticipate. The server now shifts 0.5TB of data around the globe and answers to 8M requests each month coming from 160 different countries! I remember counting the bandwidth in tens of gigabytes and the requests per month in thousands when I started. Overall, Metanorn was growing, is growing and will be growing again in the future! That being said, I can’t wait for the next technological growth challenge! 😀
I feel like I’m on stage giving a speech as someone in a tux hands me a “crazy amount of pageviews” award. Ahhh, thank you, thank you! Man, this is amazing! Aniblogs are already so niche that it’s hard to attract viewers – and even harder to get regulars. The fact that we racked up 10 million views means we have not only new people finding us all the time, but loyal followers who have helped build the welcoming, inquisitive and friendly community we have here. I think I’ve only seen 2 troll comments in my entire time here – and that’s the kind of place we want to have. Yes, 10M is a wonderful reward for our work, but quality matters over quantity. And our fans? Yeah, they’re quality.
Whoa! Ten million hits? I can’t even begin to believe that is real, but damn ever since I have joined this wonderful team of writers I can say everyone here is like my second family and yes that also means the commenters as well! Like Skylion who always cracks me up and is a really fun guy to chat with. Next I would say Black Briar who often battles it out with skylion every season about best girls especially if they are vampires and I will give a shoutout to Irenesharda who recently has been visiting to leave some great comments every week. Besides the great community here at Metanorn I have had a lot of fun doing my meme themed pictures, creating video reviews, doing the mini-talks with Jrow and of course I love being apart of any MetaVerse podcast with all the other writers. I don’t really know what else to say other than thank you for commenting and keeping us motivated through every season! Now let’s see if we can break twenty million hits in the future.
summer12-nessWhat? I thought that we hit 10 million hits a loooonnng time ago. Come on viewers, you’re slacking here. Work harder yo and spread the word of this site yeah? Nah. Can’t believe we are at this point already. So much time has gone by since Metanorn started, so many changes have occurred and there will be more in the future. But anyways, thank you to those visiting this site, you know who you are. To those lurkers and stalkers out there, without you, the weirdness factor would be so low that awkward moments would just be… awkwardererer. Also, big thanks to you dedicated fans who visit often. Without the fans, our writers would lose hope, Fosh wouldn’t have people to share his moe-loli love with, OC wouldn’t have people to experiment on and Kyo wouldn’t have more minions to exert her powuh onto. As well, I can’t forget to mention a congratulations to the Meta Team. Hard work, dedication and effort got us to where we are today. Thank you team, you’re such interesting individuals heheh. Now then, back to the shadows for me where I will slave away on any future projects and hoard all the Meta monehs buwahaha.
Holy moly, 10 million hits! I didn’t quite get the full effect of how incredibly huge 10 million was until I wrote it out. It’s actually a bit breath-taking! Of course, this feat wouldn’t have happened without you readers, commentors, and lurkers, so thank you all for visiting and creating such a friendly community. I’d also like to give another huge ‘thank you’ to those of you who actually read my occasionally ridonkulously-written posts. Though I haven’t been as active as I have been in the past (and been pretty quiet comment-wise), I still enjoy aniblogging immensely and always look forward to what you readers have to say. I joined Metanorn for the chance to not only practice blogging and write about something I enjoy, but to meet people who enjoy anime just as much as I do. Luckily Metanorn was, and of course still is, the perfect place for that, and I will always feel blessed to be able to be a part of this wonderful site and to work alongside a team full of talented, and just all around amazing and hard-working people. I hope we all continue to have fun together on Metanorn, as well as continue to break even more milestones. Thank you all again~!!
Big ups to us and all of our great commenters and lurkers on bringing Metanorn to this huge number of hits. 10 million is nothing to sneeze at, and it’s a collaborative effort between all parties involved to reach this point. For us on the team, it’s a nice little payoff to the dedication to blogging that each of us has put in for the varying periods of time that we’ve been posting blogs, and it also is with the help of readers and commenters like you who keep this blog fun on a regular basis for everybody. I’ve stuck with audible content mostly for the past year plus and with mini-talks and MetaVerses, and I hope those can play a small role in a future milestone of hits!
It’s unbelieveable how Metanorn reached its 10,000,000th mark. It’s even more unbelievable how I’m part of this milestone, even though I only contributed so little in that mark. This community has grown so much. I remember when I made the script for Met’Amour and when Kyokai told me to try applying for Metanorn. And when I looked at my first post, I will never stop thinking of its silliness. Looking back, I’ve grown so much in the past two years, and Metanorn is definitely one of the reasons why I have become like this now, better than before. I love the Metanorn team. They are all so friendly and fun, and I never feel the distance that separates all of us writers. Except when I open Skype and wait for anime. The commentators here are also nice, willing to tolerate my silly fangirling and listen to my ramblings. And most of them are males! There are many things I love about Metanorn and its community, and I can’t pour all of them into words right now. I just hope that I can become more active than before so that I can contribute more to Metanorn when it reaches another milestone, teheh~
10 million hits. To state the obvious, that’s a lot. More than the numbers though, I think Metanorn is amazing for the people who make up the community (and not just the people who blog here). I started aniblogging (as opposed to lurking) as an experiment, but there’s no way I would have stuck with it this long without the commenter interactions. Discussions are fun, and it’s you guys that taught me that. It’s great that this site has people who are more than happy to provide constructive and amusing conversation. Though I’m not forgetting you lurkers either, since I’m sure that a large part of this 10 million belongs to you too~. Even if there aren’t any comments, seeing the number of views on posts is still really encouraging. So, to everyone: thank you for reading!!

8 figures. It’s something that I never would have dreamed of seeing when I started blogging those many, many years ago. This is the result of the work of many, many people, of course, and I truly feel blessed to be a part of of this team here at Metanorn, having seen about 4.1 million of that 10 million pass through during my 20 months here so far. Aniblogging is a labor of love, something I do for myself first and foremost, but I’m not ashamed to admit that having my words read and my opinions heard is also a huge part of it. Thank you to all of you, our readers, who made this milestone possible.

10 million!!! о(ж>▽<)y ☆ A very big thank you to all our lovely commenters, the Metanorn team and of course our awesome lady boss, Kyokai-sama for allowing us to come this far since we first started! ♡´・ᴗ・`♡ I’ve had a blast being part of this amazing aniblog, and I really think that the friendly, community-driven environment here is what we’ve been working towards, and what we have managed to achieve these few years. I’m really blessed to have followed Metanorn from 5 million, till now, when that number has doubled. For you, our lovely readers, Metanorn has always been my favorite aniblog, even before I started blogging here and I hope that it is or will be for you too from now onwards. ^A^

10 million hits is an impressive figure, to make an understatement. It might be a little-known fact that I first got into aniblogging with my personal blog (now defunct and collecting dust in silence), and that got an average of maybe 4 views per week. So yeah, 10 million is something to wrap your head around. Now, I can’t say I’ve had a hand in a very big part of this number as one of the newest writers, but that won’t stop me from feeling good about it. And all of you reading this should feel good about yourselves too. Whether you’ve been frequenting Metanorn for a while now or you’ve only just discovered us, each and every single one of you has been crucial to our achieving this milestone. So keep reading, and most importantly, never stop watching anime!

I don’t know if it’s something to be proud of, but I’m proud anyway to be a part of Metanorn’s reaching 10 million hits. Especially since I figure I’m good for at least 0.1% (maybe even 0.15%!) of those. Even though I still don’t have that much of an anime history, Metanorn’s been my favorite site for anime discussion since I started looking on the internet for anime. I’ve seen some great recommendations, and I hope that I’ve been able to pay back those great things that I’ve seen with making other people’s anime watching better, both with recommendations of shows they’ve liked and with lively discussion of those shows.

I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I am really glad that I’ve been part of the community here first as a commenter and now as a writer. I think this place is just the right size, with good, thoughtful comment threads, nice actual discussions with engaged people, and great ideas coming forth. I always love interacting with other people here, whether it’s on my posts or on other people’s posts, whether you’ve got 3000 or more comments or even just 3, and I hope that this will continue to be a place that all you great people keep coming back to for years.

fall13-verdantlyEven though I haven’t been with Metanorn for very long, I do know what an amazing accomplishment ten million views is, and I could not think of any other anime blog that is more deserving than this one of reaching this high number.  And by anime blog, I mean the community of Metanorn as a whole, both writers and readers.  As you probably already know, the writers here are a fantastic group, putting countless hours of hard work each and every week to turn out wonderful posts, so I’d like to thank them for their dedication in building a blog worthy of ten million hits.  As for the readers of Metanorn, many thanks to all of you who have made this accomplishment possible, and thank you for being the best readers any anime blog could ask for, with some of the most thoughtful and insightful comments I’ve seen on anime blogs.  Here’s to hoping the next ten million are just as wonderful as the first ten!

I am glad you found Metanorn <3

      • Highway says:

I want to echo what Fosh says. I know you are frequently worried about your English skills, but what I always see in your comments is that you’re really enjoying yourself watching anime, and that enthusiasm really comes through. It’s something that makes me glad to participate in a community when people are that engaged.

    • Kyokai says:

Thank you, Celestine for the kinds words. The team can’t take all the credit as our regulars too are a big part of what Metanorn is today. We can only hope that you will continue to have fun here with us. ^^

THIS IS A MASSAGE TO EVERY COMMENTOR ON METANORN: as a tribute to his wonderfull site it would be nice if you guys tell how you first met metanorn, what was your most exiting discussion, what was your favorite post, what is your favorite anybloger, etc… something like: the why we love metanorn tribute!

    • BlackBriar says:

      Great idea!!

Well, when I found Metanorn, it was in my first year of studying abroad in 2010 when I was looking for stuff concerning “Dance in the Vampire Bund” after finding out there was an anime version and bumped into the site after seeing the results on my google search. It was months after that I started commenting.

My favorite posts would be Overcooled’s Shiki and “Playing Doctor” posts for obvious reasons. 😀 There are a lot of discussions depending on what anime is being watched but the most exciting ones would be from the Seasonal Anime Catalogues.

My favorite bloggers are: Overcooled (Hers was the first post I ever commented on so I basically signed a binding contract with her), Karakuri (I like giving her vampire anime suggestions and we’re both fans of the Bloody Cross manga), Kyokai (The boss lady who formally introduced me to Type-Moon and I always get that masochistic urge to tease her and she threatens me with her Death Perception. LOL) and Fosh (He keeps it real, is awesome and his captions are badass).

      • Celestine says:

UAU you studed abroad? Thats realy cool im from brazil and here it’s realy dificult (for fanancial reasons) to travel to anywhere, my dream is to go to new york, paris, and absolutely EVERYWHERE in japan
your life seems realy interesting what where you studing?
I just love all of OC posts i mean the girl is a beast!!! She should right a book about her vision of society or something like that because while being fun she captures really amanzing lines of thougts that we can’t see ourselves. let me see my favorite anybloger would be OC (she is just the best isn’t she?) Karakuri (she has awesome taste for anime and she can be funny and serious at the same time wich i really enjoy) hoshi (fell in love whit her just by the sight of her name lol, her polite temper aways makes everything sems classy) anaaga ( her fangirling is just so cute, the way she talks about caracters aways makes me go lol) miyu ( she is a helpless romantic which awakes the fluffy part on me, we are actualy the same age =D, i feel like having a friendly conversation whit a girl from my school) Kyo (I allready said why once. And i won’t say it again because it’s Embarrassing XD) higway ( he is just so comprehensive ! I feel like talking to the nicest and most caring oto-san in the world) fosh (Oh god the guy is so FUNNY i aways lol at his posts and he just makes ne feel like im in home)

I’m sorry to hear that but I’m wishing you a lot of luck for you to pull out okay in life. I’m from the French territory of the Caribbean (Saint Martin) and I went abroad to Guadeloupe to study accounting.

      • skylion says:

I’m a loooong time anime fan. But I’ve always had, like, years long breaks between watching stuff. I got back into the watching and the fandom around the middle of ’11. I discovered RandomC at that point. They have Metanorn listed in their blogroll, so I checked it out. I found a very inviting and friendly atmosphere. Unlike a lot of blogs, the comments were interesting and very very much free of the typical insults, profanity, and f8ck f8ck f8ck moeblob and rage about shows people don’t really watch. I don’t really recall the exact post, but I do remember Fosh welcoming me about on either a Guilty Crown or Haganai comment.

My favorite posts are more of a style of posting than one particular specific. It’s when we can be funny, engaging, a bit critical, and we exchange our ideas and stuff.

My favorite bloggers are The Foshizzel, OC, Kyo and Miyu. But a HWY is fine, too.

        • Celestine says:

I watch anime since my early four or five years old, and i just can’t bere one day whitout seeing somone whit hugevm eyes lol,
im not surprised to find out you are a long time anime fan because on your coment’s you aways say something from a point of viel of somone who isn’t afraid of sayng it’s opinion be either good or not. I actualy don’t have any contact whit other blogs anime-related or not what so ever metanorn is the only one that seemed worthy as a keeper so i don’t realy know how other blogs discussion works but the peps here aways where realy nice and kind whit me and eachother. Oh my the madoka magica covers GOT to be my favorite ones not just for it to be my favorite anime but also for cool jokes OH MA GOD the 911 jock!!! will never forget.

          • skylion says:

I started with anime in 1979, when I was in third grade. It was the US localization of Space Battleship Yamato, or Star Blazers. I was much to young to know it as anime, but a few years later I became a fan of Robotech (you’ll have to google that). Around that time I started reading a magazine called Starlog, and it covered books, films, and television in horror, scifi, and fantasy. They did a very good write up explanation of the localization of Star Blazers and Robotech (and others as well).

As far as my opinions go, I don’t know what to say. It could be a sign of my age. Us middle agers don’t really care all that much what people think of us. We have mortgages to think about, after all. LOL. But I have always spoken my mind, regardless of my age. I’ve taken my lumps for that, and well as a small degree of praise.

Madoka is what actually brought me back into watching anime. I went from there to most of SHAFTS output, and then got hooked on KyoAni’s K-ON; my third favorite franchise behind Academy City and Bakemonogatari.

            • Highway says:

I do care a bit what other people think of me, but especially on matters of taste, I realize that I’m not a conformist. Heck, I wouldn’t be an anime fan at age 42 if I were a conformist, or drive around town actually broadcasting anisongs (cause I use an FM transmitter to play them in my car). Of course, I always think I’m right, and sometimes that leads to butting heads with folks who have a different opinion because I’m not afraid to defend it, but I do try to correct myself if I turn out to be wrong.

I can’t really claim to have watched much of Star Blazers (although I thought it was cool as heck with that cannon), so really my first foray into anime was the turn of the century with Cowboy Bebop and a few shows that I found on TV or bought licensed (Blue Seed, Bubblegum Crisis, Ah My Goddess). Then I didn’t really watch any until just 2 years ago when I got Netflix streaming. But I’ve watched a lot since then.

    • Tofu says:

Like Skylion, I’m also a K-On fan (although I’m a bigger K-On fan than skylion can ever be and Azu-nyan and Mio are both mine!) so I decided to get their music and discovered Metanorn back when they still made music posts until they had to move it to Twitter (which is also why I made a twitter account… purely for Metanorn’s music) but yeah that’s how I discovered Metanorn 🙂

In terms of favourite posts… I don’t think I have any stand-alone favourites but if I would say that the ones I followed episode by episode on Metanorn are the ones I enjoyed the most ^^ The most distinctive one I remember is Letter Bee which OC covered and oh boy did we argue so much LMAO Overcooled and I have this thing where we never agree with each other but it despite the heaty discussions, in the end, it’s a memory I do cherish because it allowed Overcooled and I to become closer as friends ^^

Well in terms of favourite bloggers, it would be surprising if I didn’t say Overcooled after writing all that! But also Hoshi for all the fun times and ENTHUSIASM INJECTIONS!! Oh yeah, I really loved the Bakuman posts Hoshi covered 😛

I love Kyo for reasons such as 1) I don’t want to die and 2) I don’t want to die HAHAHA I’m only kidding~ Kyo is almost like the big sister I never had and played a role in my love for type-moon. Kyo was the first person I interacted with on Metanorn and from then on, I’ve been in-debt to Kyo for the person I am today. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me and when you do come back to AUS, be sure to drop by Victoria and buzz me to meet up!

And I can never forget Fosh and the awesome times we’ve had together in the past! You’re a great mate and I hope that even if a few years past from now on, you would still welcome me with open arms as a friend because I love your company bro and thank you for supporting me at times over at Sekijitsu. I really appreciate it ^^

As for other bloggers, I’m gonna give a shoutout to Highway and Jrow. Highway for being plainly awesome to talk to and the only person who actually is on when I’m avaliable on the IRC to chat from Meta LOL and Jrow for also supporting me over at Sekijitsu and that one comment you made during the AniBlogTourney about me was really flattering, thank you so much!

      • Celestine says:

My best friend jabers about k-on all the time, seriously ALL THE TIME, I miself never watched but i love things that are music-related so i might check that up some day.
I am amazed at how many people get here for music, like my mom says music realy conects the world…, they still do music stuff on twiter? i might get one today as well.
let us all just agree that OC is a bro doesn´t matther if we are discussing shes just awesome!!!!
I didn´t realy bieleved on people being able to have an actual conection trough internet, i recently found out i was wrong trough metanorn, people here make you think about anime but they also make you think BEYOND anime which is really cool all the bloggers personalitys realy grows on you

      • skylion says:

Gotta find some way to get back my Azu-cat….

    • Kyokai says:

Oh my! Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts not only on Metanorn and team but about yourselves as well. It’s a fun experience to know more about our readers of different age coming together and talking about animanga so enthusiastically.

So to say the least, I will always be obsessed with Type-Moon and keep you guys updated and involved. 😉

@celestine, oh you, don’t be shy. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. :3

@BB, one day, I might have to you the real death perception on you. 😛

@Tofu, not sure when I would come over Victoria but let’s hope to meet at a con someday. :3

@celestine & Tofu, sadly music posts were stopped due to copyright issues. I’ll see if I can at least keep up the torrent/DL linking on the twitter account going. No promises though.

      • BlackBriar says:

Then maybe I should push my luck by teasing you further and see what happens. 😉

  3. BlackBriar says:

Metanorn has reached ten million views?! That’s irreproachable bragging rights and a mind numbing milestone. A simple congratulations doesn’t suit this kind of feat. I love this site and am glad I found it even if it was by accident. It’s unbelievable that it’s been almost 3 years being with you all. I’ll be expecting twenty million views in the future.

@Overcooled: No need to worry. You can always expect loyalty from commenters, especially from your humble servant, yours truly. 😀

Thanks for the shout out, Fosh. Our battle is sacred and Metanorn is the battlefield. We don’t care how many casualties pile up. Those who meddle in the affairs of the gods get burned. Hehehehe…

@Ness: LOL, we’re not slacking. We’re just keeping a steady pace.

@Anaaga: It’s fun to have you rambling. Your ambitions for world domination still scare me, though. A yaoi dominant world. *shivers*

Those are some nice stats you’ve compiled. Is it alright if put some of my own? I’m feeling a bit narcissistic.

A battlefield indeed BB! A lot of blood has been spilled over the years for vampire loli’s and other characters and thank you for the kind words on my screencaps! I love doing those xD

Whoa you are from the Caribbean? Awesome!

  4. skylion says:

Amazing! That’s a lot of hits. And like the truest of Champs, the ‘norn can take it, and so much more. Let’s see. Two years to double the number. I got here around August or September of 2011. Coincidence!?

I’ve said it before, in comments past, but there is a reason why this is happening. Quality and Character. You guys make it a place worth visiting, and you keep it a place worth sharing. There are no +’s or -‘s, no thumbs up or down, and we don’t need ’em. So, in short, I’m happy and proud to be a part or the site, and the celebration.

Yo @Foshbro. ::brofist:: What can I say, I am a ham. It’s good to know that some of my humor makes the grade (I know some of them fail badly…but such is effort). The Skylion Black Briar War is here. It will burn for all the greater glory of the BLV* Hierarchy of Awesome

@Kyo. You the boss. Keep it up, we are in good hands.

@lvlnn. Keep the Monogatari and keep it strong.

You know, since I have gotten the authority to approve spam comments, Spammy hasn’t stopped a single one of mine. I truly have bested him! But I’ll still get other people’s out (and hopefully not accidentally delete too many of them 😮 ).

    • Tofu says:

Funny enough it seems spammy is being quite bias to you skylion 😛 I wrote up a heap and it didn’t get eaten up like it usually does xD

Spammy doesn’t recognize so for now, you’re in the clear.

Actually, yours and skylion’s comments were saved by me. The only difference was the fact I was online near to your timezones than skylions’. 😉

May 2012 was when you first got here, eh? Hmm, that was around the time I became top commenter. I thought you were here before that. That memory is so vague now.

    • Karakuri says:

Ahaha yes, I remember the awesome Tasogare discussions that went on…

Man, my average time spent on this site would be something like:

Time with one page or another open without me physically by the computer- close to 5/7 days a week straight.
      Actual time reading/writing/whatever- maybe 6 hours a week..? Ahahaha…

    • Kyokai says:

On the site, 24/7 from my laptop and mobile. Yep, this is called dedication. 😉

  13. Tofu says:

10 million views and counting… wow… it really does feel like a very short time since I’ve discovered Metanorn for K-On music and in turn, met such wonderful people – both the writers and the community ^^

I’ve gone through so much with Metanorn and had such a great and fun experience exploring deeper into my love for anime because of Meta 🙂 I see anime differently to when I used to watch it casually a few years back and my knowledge in the anime industry has also expanded (but it will never compete with others I’ve interacted with through Meta and the aniblogsphere).

Everyone has their own opinions and bring new content for discussion to the table which really amazes me and also allows all of us to learn more from each other and continue to branch our love for anime outwards so we can influence others to join our side (mwahahahaha!)

I really miss the Meta chat box, had really fond memories of that chat box, discovering subtle references to Dan-go and I in Meta’mour was flattering to say the least and there’s many other things as well but I can’t remember them on the spot unfortunately…

For any new writers reading this, Metanorn is the best place to be if you’re a fan of anime and you want to join in on a community that welcomes such love and accepts you for who you are. Although big and the comments does seem like a battlefield with all the replies flying here and there, don’t be shy to drop in on the convo if you have something to say 🙂

Kyo, OC, Hoshi, Fosh, Highway, Ness, Jrow, Will, Anaaga, Kara, Lvlln, Miyu, Sumairii and Verdantly. I’ve known some of you for a long time, I’ve known some of you for a very short time, some of you I know well, some of you I don’t know that well but I had wished I’d be able to know you better… whoever you may be, I just want to say thank you for making this site awesome 🙂 I know I’m not as active as I used to be in the comments sections, and with new RL stuff, it’s harder to socialize and also catch you guys during your time zones (damn AUS timezone…) but I just want to say that I do read and appreciate your posts guys! They are awesome! You guys always give great insights and thoughts so whenever you take a look at the comments section, just imagine Tofu dancing around in excitement and appreciation for your hard efforts 😛

Keep up the good work! And to spice things up, I might as well write down some stats myself ^^

Thank you Kyo for an awesome title but I’ve never really clarified it with you… my love for Hikasa Yoko only came about due to my love for Mio Akiyama so I’m more of a Mio fan than a Yoko fan, but I still love both of them very, very much)

Hahaha, I can work with crazy. I test myself and push myself beyond my limits and try my best to mark each new thousand on OC’s posts (I’ve even overtaken Boss Lady Kyokai, of all people. :D). To be honest, I never once thought I’d get this far but I did because there are a lot of great people to have discussions with on Metanorn. It’s too awesome.

    • Kyokai says:

@Tofu, your first comment was technically on the Angel Beats music post on 2010/05/31 at 6:33 pm, but from your current screen-name it was a month after on 2010/06/29 at 9:21 pm.

But anyways, it’s been a great journey knowing all the team members and site regulars. I never thought Metanorn would become my second home but it has and I’m pretty happy with my current online family, who are always open to add new people. 😉

      • Tofu says:

ooo~ I see, I don’t even remember making those comments 😛 The most memoriable and oldest one I could remember is the one I mentioned in my comment up top but wow, when I clicked into that post, I kinda got this big rush of nostalgia… that it felt like the site had turned back into the original layout Metanorn used to have for a second… :3

    • Namika says:

Hehee :3 Yes, I am kinda crazy 😀

      • BlackBriar says:

We’ve crossed into comment territory no one else has done before. High five!

  14. BlackBriar says:

Wow! Everyone is digging in on the stats suggestion. I didn’t think an idea that came to me on a whim would get this popular. Impressive!

  15. belatkuro says:

Congratulations Metanorn for this milestone. I actually make it a point to visit the site at least once a day(sometimes even more). I’ve done my part somehow in those stats from here in the Philippines(who’s to say those stats aren’t all mine XD).
I quite enjoy the comedic captions in most of the posts which makes reading them very enjoyable. And of course the community are fun to interact with. It’s also great that the authors of the posts take their time to reply to the comments which shows how much they enjoy blogging and interacting with others.

Keep up the good work guys. Aim for 20M and further.

Might as well join in since everyone is doing it:

Btw, I’m feeling generous, what title do you want?

  16. Hoshi says:

~Ah, those of you who said you’re from the States are all on the East Coast(ish). Where my West Coast people at??

  17. d-LaN says:

Congrats Team Metanorn and keep up the good work! This is one of the nicest comunity I have ever seen and I should be here by the time the next milestone has reach. 😀

Did not expect M’sia to be quite uop there in the list. HEY IS THT JAPAN I SEE THERE!? All of my whut and wows.

Oh hey, I hit 808 comment and is now #6. I think its time I get a new title. ^_^ So do I have to come up with something or its done by you guys?

The tags lol. Its not DAT gay……

As I’m feeling generous, what do you want for your title?

  18. Namika says:

    Congratulations, minna~!!!
Keep up the good work, guys! You’re awesome :3

Heyyyy, it’s Japan over there! So cool *~*

But really, 10 million views, that’s amazing! *O*

  19. Kyokai says:

Actually, as I’m feeling pretty generous today, anyone who has over 100 comments and replies to this post gets a special title on Metanorn. Reply to get it, limited time offer only!

    • BlackBriar says:

Kyo, are you trying to cause a flood? 😉

Well, you heard her, ladies and gentlemen. Take advantage of her generosity and show us what you got!! Don’t miss out!! I’m curious to see all the new titles…

      • Kyokai says:

Well, the condition for 100 comments will taper off people but let’s see who comes up.

For a note, don’t feel shy, we don’t bite. :3

      • Kyokai says:

Ahahahaaa, love the gif. Now tell me, what do you want as a title?

        • d-LaN says:

Hmmm…… Since BB is the “Vampire Lover” I want something to do with werewolf since there a few occasion I bought books just because it has werewolf/beasts XD “Werewolf Chaser” perhaps?

          • Kyokai says:

Take a pick from Werewolf Addict/Zealot/Fanatic/Groupie/Herald/Chaser

            • d-LaN says:

Chaser will do. I’m not eaxactly crazy over them but I like them a little more than normal XD

            • BlackBriar says:

@d-LaN: I’ll be expecting some coverage on their habits and hunting patterns. You have a title to live up to now. 😉

            • d-LaN says:

Time to do some research on tvtropes then XD

    • belatkuro says:

Gah, it’s hard to think up a title! Is there a time limit? If not, I’d go with Fabulous Kuro-chan~.
We can still ask to change this right?

      • Kyokai says:

Change would be difficult later on. Just finalize a maximum two-word title and let me know. This offers stands till this weekend.

        • belatkuro says:

I’d go with LN Enthusiast then, since I read a lot of Light Novels, with Fate/Zero being my most favorite.
Highway said LN Master though 😛

          • BlackBriar says:

I can certainly vouch for that title after you helped rectify the differences between the LN and mangas for Strike the Blood.

            • d-LaN says:

Speaking of STB, there are chinese TL of it on9 so I might just take a peek at it and help out. While I won’t boast I’m a LN master, I own and read quite a bit of LNs tht not much ppl will know.

            • BlackBriar says:

So far, I heard the story is pretty solid which is good considering the anime has been confirmed for 24 episodes. I saw episode 5 and it was good to a degree.

            • d-LaN says:

Cool. I guess I might just read the LN at the same pace with the anime then.

              PS Grey Kujou>Blue Kujou.

          • Kyokai says:

Enjoy the new titles boys! :3

            • Namika says:

HNee Kyokai-san, is the offer still active?? :3

            • Kyokai says:

@Namika, it isn’t but if you want something instead of Hime-chan, lemme know. :3

  20. Mimiko ♥ says:

    Very belated congratulation!

Still I hope you’ll grow with lots of viewer and keep doing the good work! =D
