Fall Anime Catalogue 2011

Welcome to METANORN’s FALL Anime Catalogue of 2011!

Come on, take a ride with us. It’s going to be an eventful journey~

I always look forward to fall because it means the summer is going, went, gone! Being from the ‘hotter’ part of the world, I welcome fall/winter with open arms. Though currently, I feel like Summer just zoomed past me and it must be due to being busy as hell and not watching enough anime that I want to personally. Hopefully things will wind down with the year ending. Anime wise, Fall usually introduces quality shows and there are more than you can check out. This time too, you can see the heavy hitters and surprises all wrapped under pwetty packaging so read on and find out for yourself, what the Metanorn Team has cooked up for you. Yep, readers and lurkers of Metanorn.
I AM A MAD SCIENTIST! IT’S SO COOL~ Fall season is here! Which means that much closer Halloween and free candy and who doesn’t want candy?! Well, another season of anime is headed our way and we have some great looking shows to entertain us, and with any new season of anime more doses of Hanazawa Kana virus for everyone to fight off…
The summer season treated me quite well, and this season looks even better. It’s full of a lot of more psychological-based anime that are right up my alley. Of course, there’s still the same onslaught of boobsboobsboobsthisanimehasbiggerboobsthanotheranime but that can’t be helped. So let’s hope that as classes begin once again for me (*sobs*) I have time to keep up with it all.
MA UDDER FAVORITE SEASON, YESSSS~ There are a few titles I absolutely cannot wait for, although I will be lamenting the end of some of the great series of the last season. Still, out with the old and in with the new, as they say! Looking forward to some epic, some interesting, some junk and some down right dumb face-plant moments. It’s also great to see Jun in some leading roles this time around, as last season he was mostly just supporting.
And so it is Fall~ I know for sure now that I’ve made it one year in the aniblogging world, and I’m feeling quite happy. Though this year’s fall list isn’t as exciting to me as last year’s was, the only thing that really matters to me is…BAKUMAN SEASON 2, YO. Whether it’s because of my deep love for manga, or my addiction to enthusiasm injections, I’ve been waiting for this the minute season 1 finished. So bring on Fall 2011, I’ll just be sitting here comfortably in my Bakuman corner (though I doubt you could really sit comfortably since its all about ENTHUSIASM).
I remember back in Summer when I said that it is my favorite season and that hot weather trumps cold weather. Well, I didn’t expect NoCa to have a record breaking summer with temperatures in the 100’s on a number of days, but the temperatures are getting cooler now in September. Anime still is on a blazing hot trail this year with a bunch of great Fall shows. Fate/Zero should be outstanding, and I’m damn anxious to see Production I.G.’s new series Guilty Crown! Grab a meal and enjoy our Fall Preview!
Fall? Oh wow ,it’s that time already? OH WOW I CAN’T FEEL IT IT’S STILL SO HOT HERE. Summer, like usual, isn’t that great. It was pretty entertaining though, I enjoyed summer season because it provides me with lots of “luls.” But now, summer looks serious here. Not that I’m complaining, since I’ll get KIRITSUGU and YAOI at the same season. YESSSS. And more anime that looks promising of course. I can’t wait for fall to here here soon!
FALLLLLLL! Oh man guys, I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am for the Fall. Other than the fact that the weather becomes BEARABLE (as opposed to the disgusting, humid summer heat that I have been subjected to) there’s NEW ANIME. I’m really excited about some of these titles, especially UN-GO! I’ve just started college so it may be a little difficult to keep up but I’LL DO IT. IT’S SO ENTIRELY WORTH IT.
Fall. What can I say about fall (other than it’s when stores start selling Christmas decorations)? Well summer didn’t turn out all that bad, so I hope fall is great too. I mean, it LOOKS pretty good with Persona 4, Fate/Zero and all of those other awesome looking shows coming out, but the disaster that was Deadman Wonderland taught me that not all anime adaptions are good… I just hope I’ll be able to keep up with everything I want to watch since I have college now. Bloody homework.
Spriiiiiing! The season after Winter. Because it was winter last. Alright, I get it. I really need to find a new way to open these bits of text. Every time it’s just ‘Ha! Your seasons are wrong and New Zealand is right!’ Well anyway, I have some special news. I’ve decided to sign up for more shows this season, and actually make an effort to bring you quality K-ON fanboying again and again. Because let’s face it. K-ON is awesome, and it needs more love. Too much yaoi around these parts.
Nuuuuuuuuuuuu why does summer have to go?! I haven’t had much of a summer at all besides family time and work… LOTS OF WORK. I need a vacation!! But with that aside, man this fall line up has a good amount of anime that I’m interested in. But unfortunately for me, I can’t cover as much as I want to due to… life… duh. But I’ll be around because behind the scenes of Metanorn, I am slaving away on various things. So yeah, hope this fall goes by well along with winter and then spring will come and kick my butt.
This time we played around with more in-depth information as I heard some complaints on the aniblogosphere about ‘not enough information’ or ‘too little to talk about’. So, we have covered all the possible bases with this improved version for the quality and quantity both. The separators are pretty self-explanatory so…. >> GET YOUR FABULOUS MAX~☆!

And Ishida Akira playing Akise HNNNNNNGGGGHHHHH <3

    • Foshizzel says:

I love the layout too! Nice work from Ness and Kyokai for that really good, agreed! There are sooooo many great looking shows out there. Yes to Mirai Nikki! I just hope it’s not filled with sunbeams and shadows to block all the gore…

    • Karakuri says:

YES AKIRA ISHIDA. I became a huuuuge fan of his thanks to gaming <3.

I'm excited for both of those shows too! I never got into Hunter x Hunter, but I figure now is a good time to start. I hope Mirai Nikki turns out to be fantastic.

  2. Amutofan123 says:

YES! FALL IS HERE! My favorite season~

Guilty Crown x 10 all the way! I’m so looking forward to this. It’s set up to be a darn good anime.

I’ve been looking forward to Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon. Jun Fukuyama~

Coppelion sounds very interesting. I’ll watch it.

I’m wondering about Fate/Zero. I’ve never watched Fate/stay night, but this is supposed to be a prequel to that, so… AH!!! Dx

I’m going to watch Mirai Nikki. I was going to watch the OVA, but reviews saved me! Hopefully a full anime will be much better.

Un-Go. Bones. noitaminA. Great character designs. Watching.

Bakuman season two! I’ll watch it… after I finish the first season.

I think I’ll enjoy Kimi to Boku, so I’m going to watch that.

I’ll watch the second season of Working… after I finish the first season. (WHY CAN’T I FINISH SEASONS??!!! ;_;)

I’ll check out the first episode of Maji de Watashi ni Shinasai. I’ve heard the the visual novel is really good, so I’ll at least watch the first episode.

As much as I love the art and character designs from the VN for Mashiro-Iro Symphony… no, just no.

I’m sooo watching Tamayura! The OVA were really enjoyable and relaxing.

Hmmm, should I watch Ben-To? … Ah, why the heck not?

I’ll at least check out the first episode of C3.

Chihayafuru sounds like something I would like, I’ll definitely be watching it.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first season of Ika Musume, but I’ll still watch the second season.

    Ao no Exorcist specials.

FUCKYEAHIKOKUMEIRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH, GOD!!!!!! HOW CAN ANYONE SAY NO TO YUNE???!!!!

I will always welcome more Zetsubou-sensei. Always.

    Yay! Kimi ni Todoke!

    Yay! Usagi Drop!

Yay! Hourou Musuko! *still hasn’t finished the anime*

Hotarubi no Mori e looks really good.

Oh, good lord… that looks like a lot. @_@ Anyway, great reviews guys! This season looks very promising.

    • Jrow says:

Looks like you got bunches of shows to watch! And agreed on Guilty Crown. I’m so excited that show is going to be 22 episodes and not just 11.

    • Foshizzel says:

Sooooo many shows! Looks a lot like my own list muahahahaha

  3. Samantha Zan says:

Another well done catalogue by the Meta team! Whoot! You don’t know how excited I was when I saw this on your home page XD. I’m most definetely going to follow:

(Sorry about the long message, I don’t know how to use the tags and stuff >.>. )

    – Guilty Crown: Gosh, this is almost too much to handle for me XD, so much awesome in one trailer. They had me at supercell (Yay for Koeda! :3), seriously, I’d
watch anything with supercell in it. But not to mention with the gorgeous character design and a great setting and animation. This is definitely a must watch for me.

    – Mirai Nikki: I did read some of the manga, but I never bothered going back to finish it, but maybe I will do so now XD. It looks really awesome. I didn’t get a chance to see the OVA, but hopefully the anime will be good.

    – Bakuman Season 2: Saw the first series. loved it. WTF! Cliffhanger ending. 2ND. SEASON. WANT. Now it is here -w-. Okay so obviously, I’m really looking forward to seeing Bakuman, just love the story alone. I’m one of those people who hasn’t read the manga yet, so I’m really anticipating this anime 😀

    – Shakugan no Shana 3 (Final): Saw first 2 seasons, and it left its impression. I think it’s a littlbe bit late with coming back though. But oh well its here. I did like the beginning seasons, but this isn’t one of the animes that I thought really needed another season, but hopefully it will be good. Going in with moderate expectations, but I just really want to see Shana in that ANTM outfit HAH! XD

I am going to watch one episodes of MOST of the other animes as well, but gonna stick with my main 4. Can’t wait for happy commenting 😀

    • Jrow says:

Thank ya! I was actually a bit anxious myself to see the finished product. Kyo, Ness, Fosh, OC and Hato did a great job putting this post all together.

Guilty Crown looks really poised to be all kinds of awesome. 22 episodes will mean perhaps a rough patch or two, but that plot summary leads to a really interesting and deep story that can use the extra cour of episodes.

    • Foshizzel says:

GGGGG GUILTY CROWN!! Hell yes <3

Shana 3? Sure why not! I just want it to freaking end foreverrrrr, sadly there are clones of that series all over the place *Cough* Hildan no aria *cough*

  4. Seinime says:

As good as Seijitsu’s. A beauty.

    • Overcooled says:

Thanks! Sekijitsu always have super nice graphics, so that’s a huge compliment to our graphics/layout people Kyokai and Ness :3

    • Foshizzel says:

Ohhhhh yes I am always like Whoaaaaaa Seijitsu!? WHOAAAAA

Yep Ness and Kyo super graphical wizards 😛

thanks as always, my one stop shop for all my anime needs, <3 metanorn. This is possibly the most anibloggers i've seen working for metanorn since i started following 1 and a half years ago. I'm so excited to see so much covered

    • Overcooled says:

Thank you, loyal Dan-go! Yep, we’ve amassed quite the aniblogging army in the past year, so even if everyone only covers 3 things, we’ve got almost all of the shows covered XD

    • Foshizzel says:

      D’AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Dango! We <3 you

  7. A-chan says:

    Hii there !!! o/

:’3 excellent work as usual it’s a pleasure to read you all !
Now I know what I will watch ~ thanks to you !

    Working !! (YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY)
Boku wa tomodachi ga suku nai (but disapointed about the graphic quality and the seiyuu for Yozora :/ I expected something better, because I read the manga and the lightnovel. )
Crown Guilty (looks beautiful and very interesting)
Maji De koi~ ( I read the manga and I love it, and I love it more when I saw ”KAMIYA HIROSHI” :’D )
Kyoukai senjou no Horizon (not the kind of anime I watch but it’s very interesting)
    Ika Musume (DEGEEEEEESOOO~~)
Kami no puzzle ‘( the main guy looks so unique o_o )
Kimi to boku ( SLICE OF LIFE WITH BOYS Nuff~said)
    Ben.To
    Un.Go
    SEKAIICHI HATSUKOI /fangirl/

    not sure :

Mirai Nikki ( I haven’t read the manga :/ and I wonder if I have to watch the ovas ?)
Persona 4 ( do we have to play the game to understand the anime ? :/ )

    THE SPECIALS :

    HOUROU MUSUKO *ishappy*
BAKA TO TEST – nichijou *isultrahappy*
    USAGI DROP – *ISMEGAHAPPYHAPPY*
    Sekai ichi hatsukoi ovas
    Vitamin X

    T___T AND WAITING FOR HOTARUBBBBBBBBIIIIII~~~~~~

thank you again Team Metanorn !

    • Jrow says:

Mirai Nikki – You won’t need to watch the OVA. It’s really just a very brief summary of scenes from the first 5 or so chapters of the manga, so they’ll be redone for the anime.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yay working!! Love those voice actors for that series I think the first season got me to recognize some actors xD

I think everyone is going to try Guilty crown! Looks like it might be great for us all to enjoy <3 And yes to MOAR SQUID GIRL SOON!!!

No thank you for visiting! Wooooooo!

    • Kyokai says:

For Persona, you don’t have to play the game to understand it but if you really want to get into it, playing the game helps.

  8. Overcooled says:

Metanorn’s season reviews give you super powers. It’s true. I can now chew through STEEL (before I could only chew through bricks).

  9. amado says:

*reserved for my comment soon(or tomorrow)*

    • amado says:

      WILL watch:
fate/zero – AHAHAHA! when I read the plot summary, it was so misleading. especially if you’ve seen the anime at least, the info on kirei and kiritsugu will confuse you. oh and I love the nasuverse!
mirai nikki – ALL HAIL YUNO, THE QUEEN OF YANDERES! seriously she’s ranked that. and she’ll kill me if I dont watch it.
btw, I had to make a hard decision between either keima or yuno in the mangafox tourney. I chose yuno.
working: last season was good. the manga is still going strong and hopefully this one too.
shakugan no shana: why is no one going to blog this? its SHANA, who is sometimes said to be the tsundere queen(though tohsaka rin is the perfect tsundere). also the spoilers I heard about yuuji makes him so cool now!

    • amado says:

      might watch:
guilty crown – saw the banner in random curiosity. if Divine put it there, its got to be at least interesting.
Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon – hopefully sunrise does a better job in this than sacred 7.
persona 4 – heard similarities in the angel beats comments.
boku wa tomodachi – read the manga. slightly better than the usual ones of this genre.
maji de watashi – I watched they are my noble masters, which was great, so I might give this a chance.
cube X – the name sounds catching. also read yandere in the post so…

the OVAs and specials will wait for tomorrow.

    • amado says:

oh yes and my list would change depending on the other previews I read.

sadly, the might watch would probably be naught since school is still here…

  10. Very organized and detailed preview of the upcoming season. AMAZING! *salutes*

This has been helpful. Thanks so much! Keep up the good work! xD

    • Ness says:

Yeah, we went for a more personalized summary on shows that also reflects our thoughts on it. But yeah, thanks and glad you liked it xD

  16. *delurks, since she loves the anime catalogue posts a lot*

Well.. Not exactly sure what all to think about this season. So far, I do have 13 titles on my “to watch” list, and will be adding more (once my boyfriend figures out what titles he wants to watch). lol, why does the end of the week usually gets all the good shows? XD I’m looking at you, Thursday & Saturday, again!

Tho.. I’m mildly disappointed with Fate/Zero, only because my second fave seiyuu of all time (Suwabe Junichi) is not Archer, unlike all the other Fate related medias. 😡 Everywhere I go, they have Seki Tomokazu listed for Archer, and Suwabe WAS the main reason why I was gonna watch it each week. lol Don’t get me wrong, it’s still listed as something to watch. But I’m not too serious about watching it each week.

Tho, I am watching Sengoku Paradise Kiwami. But that’s only because I adore Namikawa Daisuke & Kakihara Tetsuya, love all the different envisions of Japan’s history, and a REDHEAD Date Masamune!? OMG, two fetishes loves as one!? Yes, please.

And I’m staying away from sequels. XD I haven’t watched any of the ones that are listed in the fall… I really~ don’t want to add MORE stuff to watch and get swallowed up by all the different shows. I have a long~ backlist as it is, since I missed sooo many years of anime because of no internet access. I don’t want to play catch up right now. XD

    So, the list consists of:
Busou Shinki Moon Angel, Ben-To, C3, Fate/Zero, Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere, Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle, Kimi to Boku, Sengoku Paradise Kiwami, Chihayafuru, Persona 4 the Animation, Mirai Nikki/Future Diary, UN-GO, Guilty Crown

Oh God… where has my life gone~?

    • Kyokai says:

Your list is as populated as mine though it’s my duty to check out almost everything.

The change to Tomokazu Seki was something that I didn’t like either because I love Junichi Suwabe (that HNNNGGGing voice <333), and he does a brilliant Archer! I always imagine his voice so it's going to be an actual work to look over that. However, except for that I've never been this excited about a Fall series and can't wait to see the one hour long first episode!

      • I always watch at least the first two/three episodes of all the series to see if there’s potential in my oooooh so anime loving heart to continue the series. Hence why I have a huge~ backlist. lol And I also end up liking certain shows that other people seem to hate/dislike, like Starry Sky.

        • Kyokai says:

Hey, it’s alright, I completed Starry Sky and actually like Ura no Prince so I understand. Btw, for that Fate/Zero confusion, the Archer we know is not in Fate/Zero at all and thus, you don’t see Junichi Suwabe there. The Archer class servant is actually Gilgamesh and of course, he’ll be voiced by Tomokazu Seki, not Junichi. So, rest assured our beloved Archer is not voiced by any other seiyuu.

          • lol, but UtaPri was amazing~ I’d pay the animators extra money just because of the effort they put into the dance for the concert. lol I would’ve thought they animators were crying their eyes out going “OMG~!? How many more male pop groups do we need to study to make this dance believable!?” Aw, I know it’s a different reincarnation for Archer.. but Suwabe gave him extra points of awesomeness in my book. XD All of the other servants’ actors were changed too, but Saber (since she’s still King Arthur’s reincarnation). XD But either way, both VAs are great, but I <3 Junichi more than Tomokazu, merely from a fangirlism POV.

            • Oh.. and since Fate/Extra is coming over to the PSP with English text and Japanese audio, that automatically singles out which of the 3 servants I’m choosing… >.> Since he’s still voiced by Junichi. lol

            • Kyokai says:

UtaPri dance sequence was epic. Poor animators who still couldn’t get them all to sync! xD

And Type-Moon is pretty consistent with their VAs so if Junichi could do Carnival Phantasm, he’ll definitely show up to reprise his role wherever necessary. xD

    Nice Fall Review Metanorn Team!

I think Guilty Crown has a lot of big names to back it up but for some reason the trailer looked very cliche and reminded me of Code Geass with the “Special Power”, “Mysterious Girl”, and “Japan Under Occupation” mash up 😛

I’m a long time Gundam fan, but I’m not keeping my hopes up too much on this next series. It seems like they’re gonna go fan-shopping from the younger generation with this series (that kid’s hair color is ridiculous =_=;)…

    Persona 4 and UN-GO sounds interesting too~

I hope this season’s lineup will be fun!
    oh, and I almost forgot- *lurk* ^_^;

Gosh, I can’t believe I’m back!!!!!!!! Finally, I got the enthusiasm injection from Ashirogi Mutou-sensei! Ummm…… I missed a lot of Sekai ichi, but since i don’t have the time to catch up, I’ll probably jump to the 2nd season. We’ll see, but I think I will need a dose of fangirling to chill out a bit. =w=
