Hoshi Woah, woah, woah, a second season? You know what this means: ENTHUSIASM INJECTIONS ARE BACK, BABY~! After one year, Bakuman returns for its 2nd season of enthusiastic manga-making as we continue to follow Ashirogi Muto, the brilliant duo consisting of artist Moritaka Mashiro and writer Akito Takagi on their path to becoming the greatest mangakas in Japan.Last season the boys finally made it to serialization after months of hard work, but when it comes to the meeting for their contract in Shounen ‘Jack’, their editor Hattori brings along someone new, Gorou Miura, who’s supposed to be their new editor now! Along with that major change, new rivals will appear and new problems will arise, but the same, good friends (and love interests) will be there to support them in the background.Since this is its second season, the majority of the cast and staff is remaining the same, with Atushi Abe (Toaru Majutsu no Index) and Satoshi Hino (Shakugan no Shana, Mayo Chiki!) playing the Ashirogi Muto duo once again. As for the new main characters this season, the wacky, new ‘genius’ mangaka, Kazaya Hiramaru, will be played by Masakazu Morita (Bleach, Tiger and Bunny), and Ashirogi’s new editor, Gorou Miura, by Daisuke Kirii (Utawarerumono).

Hey, I stuck around season one and have even gone ahead in manga so how can I not check this out? EVERYONE NEEDS ENTHUSIASM INJECTIONS, DAMN IT! Also, I love Eiji’s eccentricities and the new competiting mangakas that have been introduced. I mean, don’t you love bitching about Aoki? That woman is one ice queen. And there are times that I want to hug Fukuda because over that hard exterior, he’s actually a nice guy. Why I watch this beside the ENTHUSIASM INJECTION as Hoshi put it; well, mostly for the love of manga. There’s something unique about its creation and why not delve into something that you are a diehard fan of? Sure, the pacing gets slow sometimes but the characters are interesting; seeing the art evolve of Ashirogi Muto and them reaching their goals is something quite brilliant.

I’m pretty much looking forward to watching this second season and I’m even caught up! I actually followed the first season pretty well. I find it so interesting that there’s actually an animanga about mangakas and the struggle to go down such a road. Even though I find the whole love mixed into this to be boring and meh, I just like the concept and comedy. Also, I admit that I didn’t watch the anime second by second, more like I skipped through whenever Mashiro whined but Takagi is always way cool. I just want this duo succeed in their goals and make it big. As well, the stories of the mangas that they create are actually pretty interesting and seeing the art is always a plus for me.

Hoshi AIC Build’s first series you may recall was the ever so popular Ore no Imouto, so their next adaptation is about a boy named Hasegawa Kodaka, who has transferred to a new academy and forms a club with Yozora Mikazuki called “Rinjinbu”, The Neighbours’ Club. The club is meant for people not having many friend; sound like something I could’ve used when I switched high schools during my Freshman year. The club does a lot of different activities, one of them playing games, so perhaps there can be some fun situations with the members of the new club.I’ve read the first 3 chapters of the manga (there’s also a light novel of Boku wa Sukunai) and there were a couple funny moments, but it seems like it fights an uphill battle to separate itself from every other high school anime of its kind like Sekai no Ichizon as the girls don’t seem extraordinary so far. I’m thinking a lot hinges on Kodaka’s likability as the lead male protagonist. I’ll say that I did like the art in the manga and must admit that I got a crush on blondie (Sena, voiced by Kanae Itou), and there’s other great seiyuu like Marina Inoue and the super-busy Kana Hanazawa.

I think I briefly skimmed the manga for this. I’m pretty sure there was ecchi, but I might give it a shot anyways… The concept of the anime is basically ‘friend building’ so from that, you can tell that characterization is going to be interesting. How many different types of lonely people will they be able to come up with? Though Kodaka’s dilemma of having no friends because of looking like a delinquent totally sounds like the main guy from Toradora (though this guy is blonde, leading me to ask why he doesn’t just dye his hair to fit in. I’m sure he’ll explain his reasons in the anime though). Yeah, this doesn’t sound like anything new, but the characters seem pretty interesting. Or at least the girl with the imaginary friend does. I can’t even remember the last time I saw an imaginary friend in an anime. As for Hanazawa being in it, that woman is adorable and I am perfectly okay with her being in every single anime ever. Marina Inoue is a nice bonus too.
Ness
Orginal character designer Buriki who worked on Denpa Onna? Sure! I did enjoy his designs, this might be the series to watch for amazing animation and cute characters. And we all know that Hanazawa virus is coming back for round two or four, I have lost count on how many times I have been infected by it. A club that helps people? Wait this has been done over and over again, Sket Dance and Okami-san? I guess Japan is full of helpers.

To be clear, I’m not following this because I have a twin fetish, I SWEAR. *cough* Anyways, originally based on Kiichi Hotta’s manga, this show is as slice-of-life as it can get as it showcases the everyday lives of four childhood friends, who more or less get along well, attending the same high school. A half-Japanese transfer student joins their circle, which adds a new mix to their friendship. No major twists, no catch, just a pure slice of life comedy about high school boys and adolescence. The setup seems a bit bland, I’ll admit, but I bet there’ll be some sort of charm from this series. I’m thinking A-Channel, but with boys and tone-downed (a lot).

Our cast consists of Kouki Uchiyama (Shiki, [C], Infinite Stratos) and Ryohei Kimura (Eden of the East, Cencoroll), who’s currently playing precious Shouma on Mawaru Penguindrum, starring as the good-looking twins Yuta and Yuki Asaba, with Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Durarara!!, Katekayo Hitman Reborn!) as the feminine Shun Matsouka, and Yuuki Ono (Kimi ni Todoke) as class head Kaname Tsukahara. Miyu Irono (Ano Hana, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Spirited Away), one voice-actor who’s got quite a lot of major roles up his sleeves, will be the transfer student, Chizura Tachibana, who comes to join the group of friends later on. While the director Mamoru Kanbe hasn’t done anything too major (except for maybe Elfen Lied), the series composition writer, Reiko Yoshida, has quite the resume with working for series like fellow Fall season show, Bakuman 2, D.Grayman, Blood+, K-ON!, and much more. The series is actually being split into two, 13 episode seasons; the first airing from October to December, and then continuing up in April to conclude in June.

Natsume lookalike twins… YUM. One thing that J.C. Staff is consistent with (more or less) is the quality of animation; though it does go downhill after a few episodes (Kaichou wa Maid-sama!, Yumekui Merry, etc. >>). Every season, I try to give them a benefit of a doubt but usually they fail me in case of execution because their ends are just… Right, let’s no go the rage way. Seeing this is going to be two seasons long, I can only hope the slice of life events are interesting enough to keep everyone hooked because the seiyuu cast is convincing enough and this can go places if the story is handled well. My interest was specifically piqued with Mamoru Kanbei because of not only Elfen Lied but for Denpa Teki na Kanojo and Baccano! I expect good things from him along with Reiko Yoshida handling the script. Also dibs for this being the guys version of K-On minus the tea drinking! I’m not surprised at Ness finding bromance fanart already because; hey, a room full of guys and they having history? So watching this.
Ness
So I did a search for this anime and I found no information UNTIL I added that damn dot! How amusing. But anyways, the story seems typical for a slice of life but at least this isn’t about school girls! Hell yeah! Gimme those school boys…. But I just hope that their daily life isn’t so boring that I’ll be turned off from watching this. Yep, gonna check this out for the sake of the possibility of bishie appearing. Oh man, why am I not surprised to see some BL fanart for this already. Also, somehow the guys in their uniform reminds me of Ouran haha. And, why am I not surprised that Hato is going to be watching this?

Working! was a huge hit with most people when it first came around, sure the story is just about an average dude looking for work and ends up working at a restaurant. Now that does sound very boring to most anime fans, but the thing that makes up for such an average story line are the amazing characters! We have everything here from the quiet character, to the random and insane. Even a violent girl who punches men, and a guy who loves cute and small things. There are some love triangles as well but they tend to take a back seat in this comedy as who doesn’t want a good laugh, eh? I know as the first season was amazing and hilarious for me so I can’t wait to see all of my favorite characters once again! And thank you, Jrow, this would be the perfect anime about me; although I don’t want to be punched by Inami all the time…

Now for the cast we have some amazing actors right at the start as I instantly see Jun Fukuyama! as Sota Takanashi! Jun has been in several popular Metanorn shows over the years, most would recognize him from his recent roles (Ao No Exorcist, Durarara!! and even Itsuka Tenma). Next up is the Metanorn favorite and deadly as Kyo puts it: Hiroshi Kamiya returning as Hiroomi Souma (Durarara!, Ao no Exorcist, Natsume Yuujinchou), and Daisuke Ono returning as Jun Satou (Durarara!, Kami-sama no Memo-chō, Dantalian no Shoka). Also making waves in the anime world, Eri Katamiya as Yahiyo Todoroki the quiet yet yuri-ish character currently starring in Ao no Exorcist, Mayo Chiki, Kana Asumi as the tiny yet cute Popura! (Mayo Chiki, TWGOK) Saki Fujita as the punch punch girl Maharu Inami (Yozakura Quartet, Yuruyuri) and rounding up the last Ryou Hirohashi as the crazy Aoi Yamada (Demon King Daimao, Star Driver); so a huge cast of great voice actors!

We should so make a Working!! version of Metanorn Team because somehow or the other we match it quite well. I mean, so what if I’m not as lazy and sweet lover as Kyouko but isn’t bossing around Yachio fun? I wish I could be as random as Yamada but then what would happen to world domination?! AHEM! *clears throat* This has most of my favourite seiyuu so even if story was shit, I would still watch it but IT ISN’T. You would instantly like the characters even if someone would give you a creepy air. I mean, sure Souma jumps around here and there but man, I can always feel a scary aura coming from him and don’t even get me started on Satou’s deadpan looks. Also, I would like to know more about this guy but I’m happy to see via this Yuuichi Nakamura getting into the second season; it’s like slowly all the people I like are coming together including Nakata Jouji, who drops by sporadically as the long lost uncle. It’s a sin to miss this.
Ness
I frigging adore Working! PLEASE SIR, CAN I HAVE SOME MOAR? And we’re getting more character songs? Hnng! The ending theme performed by Jun, Kamiya and Ono was one of THE cutest things I’ve ever heard. I definitely need more Jun songs making my iTunes fabulous~ That aside, Working!!! is a simple sweet story with a good cast to back it up. If you’ve seen season one then you already know if you’re going to like this or not. The unassuming style and delivery makes it slide under the radar but I’m glad I stuck with it till the end and have been waiting patiently for the second season, and now it’s here!

Hoshi Another one of those eroge anime, the game for Maji de Watashi was developed by MinaSoft, who also did They Are My Noble Masters, an anime which I really liked a few years ago. Masters dealt with the life of a butler and rich ladies. While Masters was more of a comedic type, Majikoi should bring some more action into the fray as Momoyo Kawakami leads her group of fighting gals into weird situations in which there usually ends up being big battles. I do think its eroge roots might provide a half-decent romance story and be the most watchable and overall enjoyable of the ecchi offerings this season; certainly more so than Maken-Ki.There’s lots of the typical cute girls swinging weapons around, Hiroshi Kamiya (surprisingly) as the male lead, and a purple robot named Cookie. Huh? What is this robot doing here? Anyways, I get a good vibe from this show and am looking forward to its premiere as AT-X is a listed broadcaster.

Someone Manyuu these chicks into awesome bishies deserving these ear HHHNNGGG seiyuu cast of Kamiyaan, Ono Daisuke, Tomokazu Sugita, SuzuKen, Yuuichi Nakamura and Junichi Suwabe and I’ll be ALL OVER THIS. Sadly, that will never be because this is an eroge and it’s all about TITS AND DAT ASS. Aaargh, whatcha doin’ Kamiyaan? Move here and I will give you some ‘special work’; no, srsly. *meaningful stare* I can also go and make a Lurch joke for the studios but damn it, these people made Carnival Phantasm which was EPIC… Keitaro Motonaga directing this just made me shiver because this dude directed School Days and Katanagatari–completely opposites of some things I hate and love. Not to mention, the Freezing BLOOD & TITTAYS might be seen here again because Mayumi Watanabe did ‘em good. >< I’m thinking of reuniting with the Ness and Fosh for a first impreesion on this one just so I can have some LULZ. The stuff I do for the love of seiyuu.

Sengoku Otome in modern time anyone? Looks like this will be the fanservice show of the season, if you can look pass the BRIGHT SUNBEAMS OF CENSORSHIP or some other creative way of blocking the important plot progression scenes. Another anime based off a game? SO ORIGINAL! Another eroge anime series, huh? I think I really have sat through enough of these shows to know they are boring! Romance? Yeah right! Sure they will have romance in the form of harem power with a main dude (Shingo) trying his luck with different girls. But hey maybe things might be fun with all that drama? Character designs from The World God Only Knows? That might make me sit down and watch the first three episodes just to see those designs again.

On the voice acting range of things we have Mai Goto as Sakuno Uryu (FMA: Brotherhood, Seikon no Qwaser); next up! Mayumi Yoshida as Sana Inui (Ore-tsuba); Noriko Rikimaru as Miu Amaha (Seto no Hanayome, 11eyes); Oma Ichimaru as Angelina Nanatsu Sewell (Blessing of the Campanella, Himawari!); Ryoko Ono as Airi Sena (Yosuga no Sora); and last we have Takahiro Mizushima as Shingo Uryu (Beelzebub, Angel Beats!). Well you can tell they might be scraping the bottom with the actors here and most of them have done some Hentai work as well. So if there are any of those scenes around… you might see another Yosuga no Sora on our hands, minus the incest.

Manglobe, whatcha doin bro? An eroge, really? Um… I am disappoint. I like an eroge anime, but there are other companies that aren’t as good as you to make those for me. Now, I could continue this riff I’m on, but you know what? Manglobe’s catalogue of anime is pretty strong, and if there’s a company that can take an eroge to the next level, I would and will believe that a studio like Manglobe can make an eroge-based anime watchable and not fall into the Feel format. The story of Shingo’s school combining with the girl’s school is unusual, but the fact that all the girls hate the male students maybe isn’t the freshest thing yet. Director Eiji Suganuma and character designer Toshie Kawamura are big key animator people who’ve done a number a great things like the FMA: Star of Milos movie and The World God Only Knows, so the show will undoubtedly look attractive.
Ness
How hath the mighty fallen…? Manglobe, I have no words. I mean Samurai Champloo, Ergo Proxy, KamiNomi and even the recent House of Five Leaves were brilliant in their own right so it’s weird to see Manglobe adapting an eroge. Though, maybe I’m reading too much into this and it’s one of those projects *cough*Marvel crap of Madhouse*cough* that you have to do to float the cash flow? So, I will forgive them though in case of whatever ‘story’ revealed, I don’t see anything new or interesting in it. So, be warned.

Hoshi Season three of Shakugan no Shana?! Well why not? I did sit through both previous seasons of this, let’s see what a third series can do for us. Then again this is another one of those J.C. Staff series that really needs several damn seasons just to get that plot across to the fans. Shana is cute but most people will hate her guts with all those shut up comments. After all she was the one that started that annoying trend. So bring it on season three! I am ready for you as it’s supposedly the ‘final’ season of this long franchise.Returning to battle monsters and swing around a flaming sword will have Rei Kugimiya as Shana also in (Astarotte’s Toy, Hidan no Aria) and Satoshi Hino (Bakuman, Air Gear) as Shana’s punching bag, Yuji Sakai (Mayo Chiki!, Naruto Shippūden) along with Ayako Kawasumi as Margery Daw (Hidan no Aria, Astarotte’s Toy) for the more popular known characters.
Hime
So three or so years later, Shakugan is FINALLY getting another season. Excuse me while I go rewatch the other 2 seasons to remember what the heck happened in them. It’s been waaaay too bloody long even with the S OVAs in between. Hell, all I can really remember is that Shana (Rie Kugimiya, also known as pretty much every tsundere in every anime ever (Toradora!, Zero no Tsukaima, the list goes on)) is a tsundere who likes melon bread and she turns into a redhead when she fights because she’s a Flame Haze. I don’t even remember what or why she fights. That’s how long it’s been. Anyways, Satoshi Hino (Bakuman, Naruto Shippuden, a bunch of awesome roles in otome games no one has probably ever heard of…) is the shit even if all I can remember about his character Yuji is him being pretty much useless. I think I remember reading about his character becoming more awesome later in the series towards the end, so I might just watch this to see that. So yeah, the seiyuu, animation studio (J.C.)  and director (Takashi Watanabe) are all the same, so it really is just a continuation. I can’t remember much about the plot, but I remember the animation being good (or at least I remember the special effects being pretty), so it’s not a bad thing that it’s the same staff. Also, apparently this titled ‘final’, so unless they’re lying, this is the last that J.C. can get make money off of it. Maybe now they’ll finally go and finish some other unfinished series.

Have you taken a picture, which seen years after gives you the exact feeling that you felt when you took it? A picture is all about past memories that is entrapped by a simple click of shutter and that moment in time is immortalized forever to be reveled at. Take that feeling, mix some sugar and fuwa fuwa into it and you get Tamayura ready to make you all happy! This is a healing anime set in Seto Inland Sea revolving around a girl named Fū who loves taking pictures with the camera passed onto her by her father. The four part OVAs released around the same time last year with expansion of how Fū made new friends and more into her backstory. I think the same pacing would follow for a 1-3 episode per story-arc as the staff is virtually the same except for some writer additions; even Maaya Sakamoto is performing the OP again (YAY!).

This is totally Junichi Sato’s baby because he not only conceived the story but is directing it as well. He has directed Aria and Umi Monogatari both of which were healing anime so this is in good hands. Though, he’ll be pretty busy this season with two projects in hand (Phi Brain to be the other), but with personal attachment, I hope this will not suffer. The main cast is voiced by pretty young voice actors suiting well the characters. Nakata Jouji’s presence simply warms my heart because I just can’t imagine him as an ero-jiji as in Fubulous MAX (OTL!). I hope the anime fleshes out the characters more because the friends sure need it. I hope we see more sighting of Momoneko because that was cute as anything can be. =w= So, check this out for yourself and I wish you feel-good-inc!

The OVAs were actually really sweet, relaxing and enjoyable. Reviewing them with Hato was my first tag team post, and quite a bit of fun. Junichi Sato has quite a lot of “healing” anime (eg. Aria) that take slow, languid strides each episode. Barely anything happens, but it’s always entertaining – that’s slice of life done right. Carried out in anime form, I’m sure we’ll actually get some character development though, which will be nice. My only hesitation is that Fu’s friends are pretty flat. There is one girl who whistles instead of saying words, and that is her personality. There is no other defining trait except her whistling. But hey, maybe her friends will undergo development? Anyways, it’s not like you watch for the plot, you watch for the feeling.
Ness
OC, didn’t we do this already? Oh well. I’ll watch it again, it was kinda cool. forgive the pun. In any case, while I will watch this, I’m a little concerned that there just wont be enough material to hold everyone’s interest. The OVA, while relaxing (to a point) struggled  a lot with content, so it will be interesting to see if they are actually able to pull this off. They could come up with some really awesome story arcs similar to the ones they did in the OVA, but maybe they will decide to go one better and make something amazing. Though for some reason, I don’t see that happening. Aw man.

Hoshi Karakuri seems to know me well. An adapted ecchi manga from the director that brought me Ikkitousen? I’m a victim of my own ecchi interests, so I’ll be watching this. Now perhaps you’ve heard this plot line before: Takeru Ohyama, a young and normal yet perverted guy (typical guy, check), goes to a new school. He meets three girls (surely these lovely ladies with the nicest of bodies will fill the childhood friend, yandere, etc. personality traits), and he is unable to use the Maken ability that every girl in the school can use (this guy is Kamijou Touma’s brother from another mother). When I see an anime like this, I have a simple three-item checklist of things to research. First, run to a manga site and fast click through chapters (you know why I fast click). Then, if available, I look for when blu-rays will be released. Then finally, I check if AT-X will be airing this so it can be aired on TV, uncensored, in a horrid 960×720 resolution. To answer those questions: the manga is included in Gekkan Dragon Age, a magazine that doesn’t allow nudity (much like Air Gear), so the volume releases of the manga are uncensored; the only thing I see available for sale as of writing is a body pillow; and AT-X is not listed as a broadcaster. This anime is dumb just like 90% of its kind before, but it’s fun and will have hot chicks taking and ripping clothes off, so it will be a terrific mess of a show to watch.
Ness
Whoa! This series might be on every guys’ list as a guilty pleasure. You know the show you can’t tell anyone you like? Ahahah anyway, at first glance I swear I was watching another remake of Mai Hime because those girls might have special powers..one of them did have electricity….and gauntlets that shoot fire or something. I do like the character designs by Nobuteru Yuki and I have a feeling this show will be censored hardcore! Unless they are censors like from To-love-ru, which did them in a comical way.

Might cut down this list after watching first episode though :p

    • Kyokai says:

Thank you for the kind words! Everyone really worked hard in making this a reality. We have been preparing since last month. xD

Hahaa, we’ll see how much you end up seeing but definitely, there’s no shortage of good shows this season. ^^

    • Foshizzel says:

-hands you a paper bag- ;D

Thanks! Indeed it was a long process but worth the wait! Good work everyone course we always do our best for the readers.

Yep I am looking forward to Guilty Crown,Gundam Age,Horizon,Mirai Nikki, Fate/Zero and Shana three too! Lots of great anime soon! Fall is going to be a great one.

  6. Joojoobees says:

Hourou Mousuko (special): I finally got around to watching the series last week. I had to wait because my old computer had serious problems with video, and the very pale colors of the art style meant I could barely tell what was going on. The pale watercolor style looks great (now that I have a new computer), and is very appropriate. For a show that seems like it would be intense and angst, it actually isn’t. I mean, yeah the kid gets bullied and stuff, but actually it is much more subdued than one would expect. I think this gave it a sense of realism that I wasn’t expecting. I’ll check out the special, since I’m caught up.

Chihayafuru: Yeah! This is my prediction for best show of the season.

    • Kyokai says:

I agree on the intensity. They talk about some serious stuff quite mildly. No violence except for some bullying and bitching. Seen in a marathon, Hourou Musuko is much better than waiting for it every week.

And three cheers for Chihayafuru. This should be a total win!

  7. Kitty says:

AWESOME SAUCE!!! I’ve been waiting soooo long for this!!! Picking next season’s watches is always a process. But I love all your reviews and the trailers really help. No one does it like Metanron. Here is too another rocking anime season.

    CHEERS!

    Most looking forward too:
Fate/Zero, Gundam Age, Bakuman S2 and Sekai-Ichi Hatsukoi 2. Watching a few others but those are the big kickers.

    • Kyokai says:

Thank you, Kitty-chan! We love doing it for our readers. ^^

Also, a mecha fan? Say HI to Fosh and Jrow as these two fanboy it to the limit. xD

    • Jrow says:

Thanks so much! It’s like how Carly Simon sings it.

I have faith in F/Z being great and Hatsukoi should be more of season 1 goodness, and I’m interested to see what Age brings to the table.

      • Kitty says:

I really just can’t wait to hear Takano go Huh?! again.

I think I might add Last Exile to the list, thou I haven’t see the first one.

Also Hi Fosh and Jrow =^_^= yay for mecha backed fun!

        • Foshizzel says:

Oh yes you should try to watch some Last Exile! Really good stuff xD and -wave- YES! Finally a season of mecha! Wooooooooooo hooooooo!

    • Foshizzel says:

      Ahahah thanks! 😀

Fate/Zero looks great! Can’t wait to see some more of Saber and Rin <3 Gundam Age might take a while to actually get into with those character designs, but I love gundam so I can look past that for now.

  8. Vivi says:

Soooo much info, amazing!! I think I might actually start recognizing VAs with your format XD

And OMG Sayanoara Zetsu Sensei, Hourou Mousuko, Usagi Drop, & Kimi ni Todoke specials! *_*

Anaaga’s reaction to Sekai-something something was cute haha

    • Kyokai says:

I’m a VA fangirl through and through so it’ll be all my pleasure if you start recognizing them due to my reviews. XD

Too many titles to check out, yeah!

    • Foshizzel says:

hahah yep I am with you to Vivi one day I will have the names of all the actors memorized! Somehow….

  9. BlackBriar says:

Whoa, this season is packed. It’s almost like summer again.

I saw the Guilty Crown trailer and even though I haven’t seen much of Code Geass, it reminds me of that with Index/Railgun parts.

I’m also in to check out Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle, Fate/Zero, Persona 4: The Animation, Maji de Watashi ni Shinasai, C3: Cube X.

As for Hunter x Hunter, I never saw the original version but it still looks interesting.

A third Shakugan no Shana? Damn!!! I haven’t even seen the first two. Time to catch up.

A Deadman Wonderland OVA. I might give this series a second opinion depending on how it plays out. The madness, blood and gore were on the mark but the main character has yet to prove himself. I mean, Ganta actually looks tougher in this picture and I’m itching to see Shiro and Minatsuki go wild again.

That Infinite Stratos OVA is next on the list along with that Ao no Exorcist special.

This season’s gonna be busy but gonna help us burn a the the way to winter season.

    • Kyokai says:

Oh hell yeah! I want to see everything! Well, almost~

Guilty Crown seems to be the top pick because of the star-studded staff. I mean, would you look at those names. Same goes for Fate/Zero, Un-Go, Persona, Phi Brain and Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon. I say something for everyone but yeah, a warning for Shana, it’s a typical tsundere girl going shut up all the time. Not sure if it has enough ‘plot’.

      • Jrow says:

In regards to Shana, I’ve never seen it, but from what I’ve read from steev and also other places is that Shana is kind of the basis for which most of today’s tsunderes are based off of. He’s actually excited about the series which surprised me a good bit.

      • BlackBriar says:

I don’t really mind tsunderes. I survived Bakemonogatari’s Hitagi and Kore Wa Zombie’s Sera and Haruna. And they are as tsun as they come.

What I really want to see first is Guilty Crown but we gotta wait untill October. I should have known. The Hanazawa virus has even gotten this upcoming series. She’s really branching out. Then there’s Persona 4 and Fate/Zero. They look really wild.

And not to forget Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon with Jun Fukuyama in the cast. Hime and other Fukuyama fangirls are gonna be all over that. They should have another anime with big time VA. Ao no Exorcist was a breeding ground for three kinds of viruses: Jun Fukuyama, Nobuhiko Okamoto and the infectious Hanazawa virus.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeah lots of great looking shows! So amazing to the line up with mecha for once.

True about guilty crown it does look a bit like a “Railgun/index” type of series which sounds great to me xD

  10. Blackholeheart says:

First off, girls and guys of Metanorn you deserve a standing ovation for this season preview, every other blog should not bother to write one and just provide a link back to this. Seriously outstanding job. I am however worried about Kyokai, with all she’s got on her plate, one of these days her head is going to straight up explode! Of course that won’t stop her and we’re all going to have to chip in and buy her a yellow motorcycle helmet with built in nekomimi and those aren’t cheap you know!

I do have a bone to pick with you all though, before reading this I was fretting over having 12 shows in my want to watch list, now I have 22. And 8 OVA’s. On top of Fringe, Supernatural and Terra Nova in USA tvland! orz >.<

Again thank you for the fantastic work though, I'm so hyped to enjoy this amazing season with all of you!

    • Kyokai says:

Where should I even begin? I laughed like mad after reading this comment and thank you SO MUCH for your kind words and worrying about my head. LOL, Celty fits so well here. xD

Also, rest assured, I’ll be watching Fringe and Supernatural too along with all the above anime. It’s gonna be tough but reviews are there to check out and then sift the crop for better ones.

Let’s have an awesome season, YEAHHHH! xD

    • Jrow says:

I know what ya mean with having so many shiny new shows to watch. I don’t have the US tv shows, but as a sports fan I have to find extra time to wiggle these shows around football games and whatnot.

Thanks so much! The first half of October will be crazy busy for us getting out first impressions and such.

  11. Raph says:

Just to echo the comments above, thank you for such a complete season preview that’s beautiful-looking to boot! The amount of information here is extraordinary and the links to websites, information about people involved, etc. are extremely useful too. Awesome job!

    • Kyokai says:

Thank you, Raph! Much appreciate it.

Also, I see you share the Yamada love, nyaa~ xD

    • Foshizzel says:

Thanks Raph! It was a lot of work and fun to finally get this done and out to everyone to read! Yeah thanks to Ness and Kyokai for working on the shiney graphics.

  12. TSRL says:

    Just real quick.
    @Kyokai
You did a little mistake on page 9:
Sunrise and Production I.G. are not both doing Guilty Crown. Only I.G. and the one missing for Sunrise is Gundam AGE. You though nobody would notice eh?? XDD
You can count on this redly-suspiciously Gundam fanboy to correct you XDDD

  13. Reaper says:

All I have to say is wow, so many things to expect from the coming Fall, though I’m in agreement that Fate/Zero is at the top of the list. Returning cast as well as new members with the darker story in the background compared to the (relatively) lighthearted Fate/Stay-night. P4 though comes second but there are A LOT of new shows I have not heard of that I’m genuinely excited for…now I shall begin bouncing in my chair in glee…:)

    • Kyokai says:

Fate/Zero, HELL YEAH! *Metafist* I have never been this excited about an anime before… Well, Nisemonogatari comes near enough but you catch my drift. xD

Persona 4 is making me crazy with their new PVs as the days go by. Not to mention so many shows to check out. It’s definitely going to be an eventful season, this one.

  14. Miyu says:

!!! Thank you so much for creating such a comprehensive (and pretty) season preview post 😀 I am in awe of (and eternally grateful to) the Metanorn Team (Y)

I am so excited for Fall with approximately 7 series I’m looking forward to catching 8D 8D
…The only thing is that I only can start watching after my End of Year Exams end on 10 October so I. HAVE. TO. RESIST. T T

    • Jrow says:

That’s so awesome to see you write that! So glad you really enjoyed the preview.

Fall’s looking pretty good. I’m not sure what my personal count of shows is, but each season this year I’ve underestimated the number, so it might hover between 5-10.

    • Foshizzel says:

You are welcome! This was really a lot of work but amazing job team xD

Nice!! I have lost count on the series I will end up watching….probably a little of everything for me 😀

  15. umi_no_mizu says:

wooot new season! Looks pretty decent too =D

Looking forward to Phi Brain; Kami no Puzzle, HunterxHunter, and kimi to boku… Also going to continue on with bakuman, working, shinryaku ika mumsume and sekai-ichi hatsukoi =P

once again, very nice work on the review-ness =)

    • Jrow says:

Very appropriate that you say review-“ness” since Ness did an amazing job with the design as is usually the case. 🙂

    • Foshizzel says:

Yes! Lots of exciting things to watch soon!

I am interested in HunterxHunter! And Ika Musume <3 <3 I missed that series I need my comedy fix.

      LOL Yepp so much review-ness!

    • Ness says:

And every time a review comes out, I disappear right after it’s publish for a vacation xD

Thanks! (even though I’m unsure if that review-ness was even meant for me) :3

  16. fathomlessblue says:

I went into this summary thinking the only shows worth my time were Working!!, Persona 4, Guilty Crown and Last Exile, yet now I’m more excited with Tamayura and Coppelion. I hope the later does actually air this season!).

Oh, and more Kimi ni Todoke means more Ayane = Win Win Win!!!

  17. Carla says:

I’ve been Waiting for this post!
THANK YOU for creating a comprehensive season preview post for retarded people like me ♥

  18. anaaga says:

Oh god Kyokai I love Tales of Symphonia how could you say that ;___; But it’s releasing in the winter anime season, so it’s good that you didn’t put it in the list.
By the way, I looooveeee Tales of Symphonia. You know what this means *hint hint*

And that Natsume twins thingy? I thought it would be about bunch of girls, but it’s actually about bunch of guys. Has lots of yaoi pairing potentials. Will watch for the gheyness

    • Kyokai says:

      What did I say?! =P
Tales of Symphonia is getting so many OVAs like every season, we can’t cover it every time. =P but you are always welcome to cover it. 😉

And about Kimi to Boku., I always thought it would be awesome if someone made the guys’ version of K-On! and look at this, our time is made. xD

  19. Alynn says:

    Love the new layout!

    The only think I hate about fall is the lack of time I have for watching anime. D;

    Definitely watching:
    Show ▼

Fall is looking great so far!

    • Foshizzel says:

I love the layout too! Very cool xD

Trueeeeee some can watch anime all day!

Nice list I can’t wait for Guilty Crown, Working!!, and Mirai Nikki those seem like really fun shows to watch this season. Fingers crossed for Mirai Nikki not to be censored to much due to all the BLOOD…

  20. Moni Chan says:

OMG YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much. Fall is the season for awesome anime. There’s like 6 animes airing on my birthday. CRAZYNESS I TELL YOU CRAZYNESS!

Im so happy that Bakuman is getting a 2nd season. The manga is so interesting. As well as all the other animes getting another season.

Detective Conan i love that show. All I need to do to catch up is watch more then 500 episode before october. Maybe I should just start watching the movies.

the animes are just so amazing I sooooo cant wait.

    • Foshizzel says:

You are welcome!!! Fall is looking amazing so many great looking shows, ooooh Happy early birthday! I know last year Kore wa Zombie desu ka? Came out on my bday too well a day before ahaha

WOW And I thought a series like One piece was huge xD

      • Moni Chan says:

        ahhh thank you
lol actually the ones that are airing on my birthday are a day early 2. I still say it’s my birthday kuz the subs come out a day later, hopfully. >_<

    • Karakuri says:

      Happy early birthday!

I want to get into Conan. I really do, but 600 episodes seems like a hell of a lot XD. Good luck with that!

    • anaaga says:

      DROP DROP DROP CONAN
Not that I hate it, and I HAD the manga. But since it’s not even done until NOW, I decided to stop. It’s making me broke

      • Moni Chan says:

lmao I always wonder when it will end. it’s been on since around the time I was born. I haven’t hit 100 episodes and I’m on the 13th volume (and counting), but im not going to give up. i might just stick to the manga it’s faster.
