MAKE UP – Kana Nishino
It’s been a while since Chocolate Underground has ended, but I still have to take note of the catchy song at every end of the episode. It’s MAKE UP by Kana Nishino. Kana Nishino is one of the artists bubbling up on the JPop industry and we might know her for singing the best Soul Eater ED IMO, “Style”. So here’s her latest single out, “Make Up”.

I think the timing for the OP was good. I can’t say that it is definitely better than Pre-Parade but I guess it can grew upon me. I think the song’s also as catchy as Vanilla Salt. The characters also seems to be more serious this time now though. I think it’s because of the character development happening now in the series.

In my opinion, the ED was a letdown from the first one [Vanilla Salt]. I only liked the first parts with the instrumental. I think the chorus was catchy though, but still not as captivating as Vanilla Salt used to be. I can’t say I didn’t like it but I guess this one would be the typical ED where I’ll just fast-forward it.

CLANNAD ~After Story~ – OP and ED
CLANNAD OP [Toki wo Kizamu Uta] and ED [Torch] by Lia. Toki wo Kizamu Uta (A Song to pass the time) is such a beautiful song. It’s one of my favorites this season. Torch was the lesser Dango Daikazoku but it’s overall fine.
Kanon Wakeshima – Suna no Oshiro
Kanon Wakeshima’s second single Suna no Oshiro (Castle of Sand) contains “Suna no Oshiro”, the current ending theme for Vampire Knight Guilty. The second song, “skip turn step”, is a song where we get to hear Kanon’s less creepier side and it’s more pop than her usual gothic.
Chihara Minori – Paradise Lost
Finally, Paradise Lost and Yuuki no Kodou by Chihara Minori are up!!! I already posted the PV of Paradise Lost here. It’s the kick-a** OP theme for GA-REI -ZERO-. Paradise Lost is a more upbeat song while Yuuki no Kodou is more slower and mellow. [EDIT: Link fixed ^_^]
