Welcome to the first episode of Anime’s Next Top Model Cycle 3! After days of wracking your brains over which hotties would be in the competition, we’re finally raising the curtain to reveal the truth. These gorgeous 8 bishounen and 8 bishoujos will be competing in both a weekly challenge and themed photoshoot for YOUR votes. But before that let me remind you of our guidelines: |

The first episode is finally HERE!!! I know some of you are rejoicing like anything because just look at that sidebar poll! Of course, I was being random while putting that up but it’s clear that everyone wanted this episode to come out sooner after the auditions. Ness and I were just working towards quality rather than spamming the posts with a wall of images so I would not be keeping you for much long, because it’s finally time to showcase the contestants in their regalia. I present to you this cycle’s group of models! |

So, there you have it! Our 16 Contestants have been officially revealed! Let’s keep things moving and throw them into their first challenge of this contest, shall we? This is a simple one to weed out the noobs. Our very own Tyra– er, Kyokai financed this event and overshadowed it with the rest of judges. |

With Summer still being around, what better way to enjoy the weather? Having the first photo shoot of Anime NTM at a refreshing place of course! Though, knowing the stars of this cycle, not everything is going to turn out peachy but at least I have my weapons at the ready for any unforeseen circumstances. |
EPISODE 01 CHALLENGE

All male and female models are lined up and waiting nervously for their first challenge, while the camera crew gets ready. Before long, Overcooled steps into view and smiles in mild amusement.
“Welcome to the challenge part of Anime’s Next Top Model,” she begins brightly, “While the other judges will be commenting on your photo shoot after the popular voting is done, I will be overshadowing your performance during these challenges. Let’s see what challenge the great Kyokai-sama has for you today.”
Kyokai enters the foray, ceremoniously waving an envelope. She pauses in front of the models and ruthlessly rips it to shreds, the paper inside barely intact. She hands the tattered paper to Overcooled who shows it to the contestants. It simply reads ‘Beach Episode’.
“Why do I have a feeling that Jrow had something to do with this?” Kyokai shakes her head while Overcooled grins.
THE BEACH EPISODE

“All you have to do is walk along this sandy runway, do a pose at the end, and then come back.” Overcooled explains to the models as they file around the runway. She gestures to the crew, which is the cue for all the lights and reflecting mirrors to suddenly turn on and their way with appropriate music to blast through speakers.
As a quick example, Jrow struts down the runway like it’s nobody’s business, posing like such a boss that the girls swoon a bit. He returns backstage to revert back into non-model Jrow mode in the same pace, only to join all the judges lined up beside the runway to note their critique. With that over and done with, Overcooled gives the models a toothy grin and starts rushing them to the stage to prepare to walk.
The Girls are the first to strut their stuff. Some of the girls, such as Yoko, Senjougahara and Anaru already know how to walk with poise and presence. Even Mami and Saeko do a job well done with a slow paced walk. Not to mention, even Nino got through the whole ordeal without falling asleep, or suddenly staring at something shiny; though what happened later can be anybody’s guess. All goes well until a stuttering Sawako is pushed onto the runway. She sees people watching, panics, but with Kyokai’s encouragement she walks down the runway in the same way a robot would.
“Pose, you have to pose!” Overcooled calls out to remind them. That was a bit of a bad idea, given that Stocking’s “pose” had to be greatly censored. Sorry audience, but there’s no way we could rate that kind of model walk as anything less than R!
Once the girls finish, the Guys have a go at trying to win the challenge with their swagger. Let’s just say the guys weren’t as serious as the girls. Keima clearly wasn’t going to win, not with that PSP in his hands for the entire walk, at least. No matter how well you do in a model-themed dating sim, this is real life! Gintoki and Rin didn’t show much interest either; shuffling down the runway with their lopsided smiles and a look of mild embarrassment. Natsume seemed to be in a daze as if looking at something only visible to him.
Things only started to heat up when the Baka Ouji “accidentally” bumped into Date on his way back from his walk. He didn’t even give the Lord of Oushu a second glance, which led to six swords being drawn from seemingly nowhere and the entire runway being wrecked. When asked what came over him, he simply replied, “The dragon cannot be tamed.” As if any woman would question ANYTHING said by such a man.
The results of this challenge were announced amongst the rubble after a lot of whispering in between the judges.
“The winners are… Senjougahara for her posture and powerful presence and Barnaby for his thorough pre-understanding of a model walk! Congratulations!” Overcooled announces, “Next time you will win prizes for winning… and I’m afraid I’ll have to penalize people for certain, erm, actions.” She didn’t mean monetary compensation, that much was for certain by the way she cracked her knuckles.

Congratulations, Barnaby and Senjougahara on your sassy runway walk! Perhaps you’ve already won over some of our commenters! Now for the real bread and butter: the photo shoot. Time for the models to work their magic for Ness’s camera and impress the judges. Our theme is Summer Heat and beach being the setting, includes a large amount of sweating and a very little amount of clothing. Lucky judges. |

Interestingly, the Anaru and Yoko are still tied up and if there’s a tie, Judges will step in during the deliberation so no worries there. We’ll see how things are in the next three days. :3

Well, I wish the same but in the current selected theme, not much was available for our canvas as we wanted. Big examples: Keima and Anaru (it was just impossible to find him shirtless, while Anaru had everything BUT an appropriate pose for a beach theme… >.<).

True..I get your point. Though I think I saw a pic of Anaru that could be tweaked a bit to look like she’s in a swimsuit.
