Doctor *AAA*
Before we get started with everything, I forgot to mention this since episode 2 but I’ll have to say that… I ALWAYS LOVE WATCHING THE OP OF THIS SHOW ESPECIALLY THE PARTS WHERE THEY RECAP THE PREVIOUS EPISODE, FOLLOWED BY THE CHORUS OF THE SONG. SO SEXY AND AWESOME. LOL, JUST SAYIN’. Ok…
SHINRA IS SO CUUUUTE~!!! When the promo pics first came out and I have no idea about the characters yet, I thought that this dude is gonna be so crazy xD, And oh lol I guess that’ll be right. I LOVE Shinra so far. He’s very interesting, eccentric, and not to mention secretly perverted romantic as well.
This episode is narrated by Shinra himself, and it’s on a documentary-like presentation about the headless rider/Celty, who turns out to be living with him. This show really gets creative on every episode’s story-telling ^^. Fukuyama Jun voices heavenly as usual, and that really adds why I love Shinra SFM.
Lawl, these two must have been a lot of things already (needs spin-off slice-of-life “Shinra Living With A Dullahan” show), and it shows from the lame calcium joke, to Shinra peeking on Celty while taking a bath… It’s cute to see Celty’s reaction though, not like Shinra already saw her naked headless body way back then, lol.
More Shinra adorable-ness, he makes me go “D’awww~” as well because it’s very obvious (and admitted) that he has feelings for Celty, too bad it seems very one-sided though. Celty seems too much srs bsns on finding her lost head, and probably realize Shinra’s care for her. But I wish Shinra the best of luck though. He seems very interested so much on Celty, and it just gets me more intrigued in his character, it seems like he has something else to show more aside from being a eccentric doctor in love.
We only got very few of Izaya this week. But heck, he’s still made of pure win with his play of words and trickiness.
Shizuo also gets little screentime in this episode, and like Izaya, it’s with Celty as well. He’s not really always that violent, and it shows here. Nice to see Shizu-chan in like, tamed mode lol. Rage mode GARtender is much more awesome though, and I would love to see more of that later on~
Mooooving on now to our Ms. Centric Character of the episode a.k.a Celty, she’s a Dullahan from Ireland. Ya hear it right, IRELAND OMG! Needs a full episode set in Ireland NAO~! Ok, back again to Celty’s background. It all started when she woke up on a graveyard without a head, and her memories are lost as well. So she travels, and travels in search for her head. Then the next thing we knew her head flew off to Japan… I don’t know, I think I missed something I guess, there are lots of questions indeed. Why Japan, or Ikebukuro specifically? Why is she on a cemetery? Where’s her head now?
And much more importantly…
What the hell is up with the black smoke coming out from her neck? Is that something, or just a unique way of gore censorship? Geez, this show packs a lot of questions that need to be answered.
Eeeek. I guess this scene caught me off guard, and it reminded me of some medical torture movie xD… Not expecting this show to show boobies (with SHINING nipples. SHINING) But…

His dad is just… O__O; But yeah, that’s when Shinra fell in love instantly with Celty (lol, duuuude O_o). He discovered her first in their ship, then asked his father about her. Then they discovered her structure is like a living anatomical model, without a working nervous system, but with complete organs. Celty’s also cool for having auto-heal ability as well. Shinra just got more and more infatuated on Celty~
Aww~ these two just look so cute together xD.
Bottomline:
Another great episode! It’s not really “giffable”/lots of awesome, gif-worthy moments unlike the previous episode (I want to make Shinra gifs, but his scenes aren’t that action-packed and it’s just talking so I guess it’s better to screencap it instead of wasting time making gifs of someone’s mouth moving)… But anyways, it’s still very nice in terms of characterization and showcasing Celty and Shinra. Lol, so I’m betting they can be considered as this “twisted love story” this show states itself as.
We definitely see a more humane side of Celty in this episode. She’s definitely fleshed out already (so fast), and it’s proven she’s just not one cool headless character riding off a bike. About her head, I guess that’s the read-headed girl flashed in the OP, you can catch it but it’s fast, so keep an eye on it.
So yup, I’m really starting to lose interest on anime because of how bland this season is, and I swear I would have already QUIT watching anime for the meantime and focus more on my fashion hobby, but heck, Durarara!! just stops me from it once a week on how addicting this show is. Looking forward to the next episode. I wonder whose character gets a spotlight next time, and are we getting into the love triangle now? Uh-oh~

I really liked how they delved into the background for these two. Especially since Shinra didn't make such a significant appearance until now and Celty was just riding around town doing deliveries under the guise of an urban legend. lol, their little homey life is amusing to watch. And yesh, I so support CeltyxShinra, too~ :woo
And I would've laughed at the boobs/shining nipples if she wasn't being sliced open like that. That left a big scar on me. :scared
lol, as far as love story goes, I think it's going to get even more twisted. XD; And I'm not sure if I want too much drama or not but next week's going to be awesome, nonethless. Can't wait! x3!

Oh, the OP full version rocks, I love it to bits! at the beginning I thought that the singer’s voice was a bit of miscast, but then it turned out that it’s perfect for this song.

and oh yeah, SHINING nipples. Even though I’m laughing right now, it was a very creepy scene. WTH is with that doctor, torturing Celty like that.
I’m glad that Shizuo and Izaya appeared in this episode, even though it was focusing on Celty’s story <3
Also nice to see that Shizu-chan isn't stereotypical hot-blooded guy and he actually IS calm(like his name says)~ but his GARtender mode is love of course =v=
This anime season is really boring, but Durarara!! totally stands out and saves it with its awesomeness.

No kidding. Shinra actually comes off as rather creepy to me, because it’s quite clear that he doesn’t want Celty to find her head ever so their current living arrangement can be extended indefinitely. He knows that if she gets her head back she’ll want to go her own way.

I know what you mean about the smeeeexy OP, I replay it like 50 times each episode, and it’s most definitely her head, in the small shot of her head I managed to see, the hair was identical. Plus, it’s inside a glass case, so it’s affirmative :omg:

But even if I root for Shinra, I don’t think he and Celty look so cute together… Just think about it, how is a headless human supposed to be CUTE, for Christ’s pants?!!!
