I’m the DDD’s official webmaster and now Metanorn’s Tech dude. I know 9 programming languages, including PHP, HTML, Python and Flash ActionScript. My obsession for computers started when I was around 7 years old when I had to learn my first programming languge, Python that is, because I wanted to be a hacker. Along the years, I found out the potential of programmation and decided to become a programmer. Then came my first website 3 years later, willisite.doesntexists.com. That was mainly a sandbox to learn PHP, HTML and CSS. During 4 years after that, I learned other languages like VB.net, C/C++. I also created my own Linux distribution which I named Will Server to host willisite.com and later the DDD’s blog. I got a contract for TVA (a television broadcasting company) at 16 which consisted in the programmation of a remote control on an iPod Touch. I also got some website contacts.
I started being an animé fan 2 years ago when a friend of mine, who goes along as The Suspicious Red Lamp, one of the DDD’s hosts, showed me Rosario+Vampire which I loved (now with more animés to compare it too, it’s plain crap). Then we both found out about other series and recommended some to each other. I mainly enjoy ecchi, mecha, slices of life and horror.
You won’t find any posts of me on Metanorn, because I don’t like writing much (well… except coding). But I’ll be around in the backstage taking care of the site’s health, maintenance and coding in general. My English might not be so good, since it’s not my native language, I come from Quebec so I speak French.

Hello everybody and indeed, I am Jrow and I’m the audio editor for Metanorn and the Metaverse podcast. I step in from hosting and producing the Anivision Podcast, which I’ve worked on for a few years now. Podcasting is a format I truly enjoy as a fun way to express opinions and produce a show that people can enjoy, laugh at and get them thru the day. I’m excited to help Metanorn put out the best anime podcast there possibly can be.
Anime has been a part of my life for 10 years as series like Ghost in the Shell and Dragonball Z served as the gateway to Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist and a couple hundred more series. I’m an ecchi fan, so putting some hot ladies in your anime will catch my attention, but I also enjoy action, drama, romance, sci-fi and sports series. I do some light manga reading, as I read One Piece and like occasionally picking up a manga volume from the bookstore.
My other hobbies include gaming and sports, both being how my Dad raised me. I currently game on the PS3 and 360, and a couple of my favorite games of all-time include Metal Gear Solid & Half-Life 2. I love sports of all sorts, my particular faves being American football, baseball, hockey and racing. My fandom is stuck in my birth state of Ohio as I root for the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

I’m Overcooled, the…cool one! Although, I think my fellow writers would be much quicker to call me “the violent one you need to be extra careful of.” Relax! I will only destroy you if you deserve it~. I applied to Metanorn on a whim just to see what kind of feedback my application would get, but I managed to not be so useless that I was asked to join the team. Since then, I’ve been writing up a storm without looking back. I love writing about anime and discovering what other people think of things so I can get a whole kaleidoscope of different views on the subject at hand. I post mostly episodics, but you’ll also see editorials and the occasional video game review from me.
My favourite types of anime tend to be dramatic, violent, dark and more on the psychological side. Don’t get me wrong, I also love really cheesy shows and slice of life, but anything bloody and full of ANGST always makes my day. I also love yaoi but I try to keep that to myself, since I find fellow fujoshi to be terrifying creatures that screech over their OTPs like harpies. I’m pretty open to anything with a good plot, unless it’s romance. Sorry darling, I just don’t do that sort of thing. Some of my favourite anime would be Shiki, Cowboy Bebop, Mushi-shi, Death Note and Durarara!!.
Outside of anime, I do other things (shocking, I know). I’m a third degree black belt who teaches at her dojo, and I also used to a whole bunch of other deadly sports before I got busy in University. I’m studying Neuroscience, and I hope to be some sort of doctor despite having a bit of a fetish for bandages and blood. This…might not go well. My other passion is video games, which takes up another huge portion of my life. If it’s not anime…it’s games. That is my life. Anyways, I’m sure you’ll get to know all of my little idiosyncrasies the more you read my posts. If you ever need anything, don’t be shy to rely on Cool. I’ll help you no matter how many people have to die~

Hello~! Name’s Hoshi and I’m very happy to become a writer here at Metanorn because I live in a cultural wasteland, and I find very few anime fans here in my town. What’s a hyper fangirl to do?! So I went to this glorious thing called the web and met so many awesome people to fangirl with, and now that includes all of you wonderful people here! I’ve been an anime fan since I was in middle school, almost six years now, and I’ve never stopped loving it. I’m a quiet person, but once you start talking to me about anime, or even worse mention my most FAVORITE anime ever, I’ll suddenly get extremely hyper. It’s like unleashing the ultimate fangirl beast mwuahahaha!
I’d like to call myself a manga connoisseur; I own more than 100 manga in my collection, and I’ve read tons more titles here on the web thanks to scanlation sites. Manga-buying has become a huge hobby of mine; no matter how many times my parents say what a waste of money if I finish them in twenty minutes, heh. Being such a huge manga fan, I favor manga over anime any day. ;D Other than writing, another hobby of mine is drawing, even though I’m not so talented in that department. I do have a Deviantart and add me if you like! Just email me for the username. :3
I also live a Korean and Japanese music lifestyle, other than my anime one. I got into Japanese music because of anime; I really loved anime opening songs, and one day I just went to explore the genres they had, and tada~! became a Jpop/Jrock/Visual Kei fan. I’m also a fan of Korean music, and K-dramas thanks to friends. I become extremely fangirly with those things as well<3 I’m a bit new to blogging about anime, but I’ll be trying my best, and just pouring out my anime fangirling on to the web ;D This has been Hoshi, goodbye~!

Hey, hey! Foshizzel here one of the new writers/guest blogger for Metanorn and I started blogging back in 2009 on Banana Muffin with Ruby and slowly began to review and follow more anime. Found blogging to be fun and a different way to spend my time online.
I live in Lakeland, Florida; it’s a small area in between Tampa and Orlando. I started getting into anime back when I was 15, thanks to seeing shows like Gundam Wing, Dragon ballz and a few random shows here and there online. I tend to watch mostly Mecha themed anime as a primary choice; however, I tend to watch 80% of the new stuff.
As for things outside of anime, I draw my own characters or try my hand at some fan art. Usually if a character catches my eye or is my favorite from that series, I’ll try drawing them. I also love to play video games, mostly action, fps or rarely rpgs.

Why, hello there! I’m anaaga! I’ve been a lurker at Metanorn for a long time, but due to some strange circumstances, I ended up being one of the new members of the Metanorn Team. I don’t remember the first time I read/watched anime/manga, but I remember that I grew up knowing about them. Probably that’s why I love anime and manga so much now.
My country is probably the country that has the worst traffic jam in Asia. At least for me ^^; I don’t know how to describe myself, but lots of people think I’m chatty and random? At least the people I’m close to. xD They also think that a black hole exists in my stomach, but that’s another matter. I don’t think I’m pretty good at writing since I’m not even done with school. So, please forgive me if you find my writing to be extremely unprofessional and poorly written… >.< Also, I’m kind of anti-social, since I’m actually a shy person (surprise surprise). I’m working on this part of myself though, don’t worry.
As for my preference in anime and manga, I’m into anything. I don’t even know what genre I’m into the most, because I just read/watch randomly. Actually, there’s this one genre I’m really into, and we all know what it is. For those who don’t know, it’s Yaoi. But of course, I judge all anime and manga based on their story, not their genre. What’s the use of reading or watching something that looks pretty but has a shallow plot? But sometimes I hate or like things because of the silliest reason, so I shouldn’t be saying that.

Hello, I’m Karakuri and after a long time of lurking here at Metanorn, I’ve finally gathered my courage and decided to try my hand at blogging! I’ve never done this kind of thing before, so be patient with me here, but I’ll try my best to make my reviews interesting (and hopefully) easy to read. I’m somewhat of a closet anime/manga lover because of the lack of otaku where I live in Canada, so it might take me a while to get used to opening up and talking here. I’ll probably be shy at first, but I’m pretty open minded about the opinions of other people and willing to listen to their thoughts on any series.
I began watching anime about 12 years ago with Sailor Moon and it just kind of expanded from there. These days I prefer seinen horror, and psychological anime/manga but I also have a soft spot for genderbenders (and the occasional fluffy shoujo romance series, though I’m somewhat ashamed to admit it). I will watch pretty much anything if it interests me, though I tend to stay away from sports related series because those tend to bore me (though I’m open to recommendations). I read both manga and manhwa, but I’m a bit picky in because I have to like the story AND the art before I decide to read anything. As for gaming, I am a HUGE Persona and Final Fantasy fan and will happily try out any game by Atlus or Square Enix.
Outside of blogging, I translate here and there (not very well unfortunately) and enjoy drawing. I’m an underpaid, overworked, almost graduated high school student when I’m not online, and I hope to major in character design once in college. Once again, it’s nice to meet you and I’ll be doing my best here~!

Hello, my name is lvlln. I’ve been doing anime blogging on and off since mid-2009, including a one year stint over at Borderline Hikikomori. You could say that I’ve been an anime fan all my life, having grown up watching the likes of Dragon Ball and Voltron in the early 90s and just never stopping. Being a Korean American, I’ve dipped my toes into doing translations and subs; if you were a fan of Type-Moon in the last 5 years, you might have read some of my translations! I’m also one of the contributors to Mirrored Anime Screenshots.
I’m not too particular about what type of anime I watch, as I like to focus on the execution of a concept rather than the concept itself, and that’s something that transcends genre. That said, I have a very hard time watching works that are too light and fluffy. Slice of life is okay, but there has to be conflict! I’m not one to take anime too seriously, so comedies tend to be right up my alley.
Like a lot of anime fans, I enjoy video games as well, and I’m also pretty into the Vocaloid culture as a fan (my 2 favorite artists now: wowaka and supercell). I also have a passion for running, ultimate Frisbee, and fitness in general. By day, I’m a number cruncher working in Boston, which helps to explain why I’m a big statistics, finance, and general science geek.

Obviously, my name is Highway, and after twenty years of flirtation with anime, on and off, I started watching in earnest in late 2011. Since then I’ve taken to it like gangbusters averaging a high teens number of current series each season as well as constantly working on backlog shows. I first found Metanorn in May 2012, and have always really enjoyed the discussions and fun asides that the writers and the commenters engage in, racking up over 1700 comments in less than a year before I had the guts to apply as a writer. I got my aniblogging start in 2012 with SushiGoKart, and applied to Metanorn because it’s always been my favorite aniblogging site. Happily for me, I was given the nod and here I am today!
I make no secret of being a married over-40 guy, and that puts me outside the “normal” demographics of fandom, but I think it just goes to show that anime can appeal to all ages and types. At the same time, I’m trying to learn Japanese, so I use both anime and language as an excuse for the other one. Some of my non-anime interests are music – including playing bass, guitar, and singing in a rock band – and auto racing – mostly open wheel and road racing.
My favorite anime genres are slice-of-Life, rom-com, straight-up romance, and and I like a bit of ecchi as well. But that doesn’t mean I’ll shy away from other types, including some fighting, mecha, fantasy, and magical drama. Basically, I’ll try anything, and usually end up watching the whole thing. So if you have a suggestion, I’ll add it to the ever-growing backlog. Thanks for reading!

Howdy! I’m Sumairii. I’m an avid fan of anime, and have been in the aniblogging scene for about a year now. I first started writing at “Ambivalence, or is it ambiguity?” (AOIA), and moved to “Sushi GoKart” from there. That said, I still consider myself relatively new to the aniblogging scene, so any feedback and comments from you readers is very much welcome.
Unfortunately, I don’t exactly recall how I first got into anime. All I know is it probably involved me browsing the interwebs aimlessly one day. But from whatever started it off, my interest in anime has since grown into a passion; so much so that I now find myself rambling about shows to people on the internet. Which is why I’m here. So just what kinds of anime do I watch? Thanks to the technological marvel that is MALgraph, it would appear that I love mystery, thriller, and mecha. I’m not sure just how their algorithms work, but I’ll at least admit that I do have a thing for mecha, even though I’ve shockingly seen very little of the Gundam franchise. As for the other two top genres, it’s honestly up for grabs. What I can say for certain though, is that I’m not particularly fond of shoujo or josei. Let this speak for my gender.
When I’m not watching or blogging anime, I spend my time on university studies. As an aspiring mechanical engineer, I’m often asked how I have time for anime with the workload that engineers are reputed to have. The answer is simply good time management. Obviously I’m oversimplifying things, but you’ll be amazed at how much more time you actually have if you work like you have a purpose. The rest is a trade secret, I guess. In any case, I’m glad to be a part of the Metanorn team and look forward to your patronage.

Greetings folks, it is I, the Skylion! I was the guy below BlackBriar on the comment count. Yes. I’m a bit of a mouth. I applied to Metanorn because the writing looks like so much fun, and it’s blast to talk about it in a fun, interesting, cool place. The Boss Lady has built a great site, and everyone gets along great. I love that there in no flaming at all.
I’ve been an anime and manga fan since about 1987, when as a sixteen year old high school student, I picked up the Viz Media translation of Hayao Miyazaki’s Nauusica of the Valley of the Wind. This was in the days when they actually had to reverse engineer manga to read like a regular left to right comic book! From there I joined a local university anime fan club where we didn’t’ watch much anime (too poor), lost a bunch of copies of manga, and generally misbehaved as often as we could. In my early days I loved Ranma 1/2, Slayers, Dirty Pair. If it was comedy and ecchi, I would probably watch it. This was back in the days we had to circulate the tapes. Today, digital streaming makes is much much easier, and far less expensive. I love romcoms, espeically cute romcoms. Toradora, Sakurasou, and The Hentai Prince are some of my favorites. I like a harem every now and again, and lots of action stuff. Mixing them is choice, as Bakemonogatari is a favorite, and Shinobu is Best Girl. I should really update my MAL.
Outside of anime I pretty much work. My main day job is a waiter at my local Irish Pub, The Claddagh (stop in for a pint), but I do night jobs quite frequently from home. I do freelance consulting work here and there for human resource departments and I’m do some oddball ad copy writing and business writing. All of it terribly formal, and not as much fun as this! My hobbies are fairly laid back, I enjoy writing, reading, and playing board and TRPGs with friends and family. I enjoy music of about any variety, with favorites being old jangle pop sounds, and am a bit of an old movie buff.

Bonjour! My name is IreneSharda, you can also just call me Irene. I’m glad to meet you all. I found Metanorn during the winter of 2013 when it happened to be the only site that was covering the one anime I was watching that season. After having come to the site for a few weeks, I quickly realized that this blog site was unlike any other I had ever been too. It was like an intimate anime family and I quickly found myself at home there. And now, a little more than 2 years later, I am so happy to be an aniblogger here. I’ve never done this sort of thing before, so I hope you guys can be patient with me. I like having fun and being casual, and I’m hoping we can have some fun times here together.
Some of my very first shows as a child were anime, and I became a full anime fan by 6th grade. I started following anime from season to season in 2013, when I came back to anime after having been on hiatus for a few years because of life, and I have no desire to stop now. In terms of what I watch, I like a bit of everything, my favorites though are mecha, sci-fi, fantasy, action/adventure, and romance. I love any story with the themes of revolution, redemption, or restoration of familial ties. I don’t do horror or gore, I have a pretty weak constitution for that. But I still find creatures of the night interesting. I like to think of it as more of an interest in supernatural fantasy than “horror”. So, vampires, werewolves, fae, and merpeople, they’re all cool.
As for more about me, I am a fun-loving Christian girl from Chicago. I’m a biochemist, currently studying as a full-time graduate student to become a high school science teacher. Though that’s just a pit stop on my journey to becoming a doctor in Virology. I enjoy Star Trek, Star Wars, superheroes, good political and epic fantasy and adventure. I have a very large media range over movies, television, animation (I am a huge Disney fan!), comics, novels, etc. Yet, despite my love of pop culture, I love just plain “culture” dearly as well. I am an avid patron of the arts and love a good play, broadway musical, opera, or classical concert. I’m an avid reader and writer in my spare time.
I’m glad to meet all of you again for the first time. For those who know me, you have a good idea of what you’re in for. For those that don’t know me…you will. ^_~
