Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma✫Illya 2wei Herz! – 8chte
Miyu and Illya leap into action!
Well, the show wastes no time, with a brief capper of the last important moment from the previous episode. Team Illya is faced with a nightmare, waking up cranky into the Real World. Given what -and more precisely how little- they know, it’s officially Backs Against the Wall time. |
Something Shouta This Way Comes…
“Fish and house-guests stink after three days”, I don’t know if Ben Franklin had the King of Heroes in mind
But, with Luvia, you have to account for someone being crazy magic prepared. With a little judicious foresight, she gem-rigged the whole subterranean shaft to the Mirror World to come down. That wall…the whole works, makes for a pretty good defense. And it’s just enough edge for the gang to the surface before…
…time to bail…
…Dark Archer dude decides to take a magic carpet ride to the mooooon. As always, he looks fabulous doing it to. Well, not always. I have to admit, during Fate/Zero that was about the most absurd thing in the world, seeing Gilgamesh fight modern fighter jets with his magic throne thing, high on magic, but always running low on Effs given. But, Hiroshi Hiroyama is here to keep things real, folks. This is a mangaka that doesn’t need to set he world on fire, just his little parcel of it will do nicely. Good to see that Silver Link is following suit.
This is plenty o’ Gil…
A few brief asides…
Well, they do take a small detour into some anime original territory, but more on that later. So, stunned with the sudden turn of events, the girls are at odds with what to do in this potentially world ending situation. Take the fight to the skies? Prepare for the worst? Continue to look stunned? Nope. Not even. They prepare for the world’s worst wardrobe “malfunction” joke, that’s what they do. Caren “what the heck is the point of you”-sensei wanders in, blows her cover as a magic church official, and tells them to screw heads on straight and do they best they can, just like always. But not before leaving Illya more than a little confused; which is saying quite a bit, knowing that that is her default state most of the time. But Caren proves to be useful in the information department, so I can forgive her a little.
…seriously, they spoiled in last week’s preview…
But then we break into the anime original territory. With Dark Archer basically taking his ride out for a test drive – I guess looking for the best place to spin a few donuts – and learning that Caren did a spell to keep the populace of the city safe, they gang decide to take a breather. This lets Bazett be “useful” and break into her former summer time employer’s beach diner for some tea time; Luvia paying as is her default state. Man, who would win in a fight? Tattsun or Bazett? The tiny terror never really had a reason to throw down until now…
…a singular trait of all Archers is Low Effs Given…
So with a bit of natter and Kuro’s naughty-time mana transfer, the gang get down to the words that Dark Archer uttered in the Mirror World, “Holy Grail”. This has been a recent focus, and something they haven’t given much thought since 2wei’s main series. It manages to take nearly all of them by surprise that all their trouble are in one bloody ugly and monstrous basket. But then they have to pony up and ride, as Dark Archer seems to have found what he was looking for, taking his chariot to the mountain. This gives the show a great excuse for something I love watching. Miyu hopping around on those magic discs of her. More on that after the spoiler cut below…
Unlimited Grail Wars (buy ’em all!)
It’s Big, Ugly, and Muddy….just what every Mage ever wanted!
It’s pretty obvious there is are a lot of big dots going down. But what, if any, connections are there, and what Big Picture does the connections paint? With the Holy Grail ritual of Illya’s world effectively ended before it started, what is Dark Archer after specifically? This world’s Grail is a non-issue, as are the keys- Illya and Kuro, both part of the lesser Grail- to finding it.
…they are still the key to something…
With the Mt. Enzou site being inactive and incomplete, the gang is left with one final assumption to make. There must be other media out there that capitalize on the Holy Grail War. It seems like there was an eroge, or something like that….there’s been a ton of games and anime series, if the comments on this series of blogs is anything to go by….
We didn’t need that mountain, Gil….
But all kidding aside, the conclusion is that there must have been another War, with another Grail, and another set of circumstances leading up to it all. But instead of summoned Servants, this ritual used the Cards. And by leaving the Tousuka’s out of it…the mystery deepens. So, is this a case of like being attracted by like? One war to rule them all in a mountain bind them? The root of all those questions, look to be somewhere in Mt. Enzou. Now, a reasonable person would try to find a way inside, and search for the clues necessary. But, when has Dark Archer/Gilgamesh ever been a reasonable person. He’s never been either of those things. So it’s Mega-Gate of Babylon time, and that just brings the whole fractured grail formula/magic circle to light in one fell swoop. I hope Issei is alright….
Maybe she should have said something after all…
This prompts both Ilya and Miyu to take action, as this is looking darker and grimmer than they are comfortable with. Illya presses an all out attack with the mind to get the monster as far away from the magic circle as possible. But before we get to the outcome of that push, we have just one more instance of There’s Something About Miyu. She recognizes the circle, leading us to believe that there is much more than she is letting on; could she know something about this other war? Then, it’s cuddle time! Well, let’s just say that Illya has a way of making new friends that is a cut above average shall we? It’s certainly a surprise, and keeping with the fine tradition of this franchise’s lovely form of skinship. But that’s after the spoiler cut…
The Long and the Shouta of It (plus Miyu!)
He’ll be caught by the shouta and curlies….
Well, as usual, I said quite a bit. So I’ll cut the final thoughts short. Aside from the Caren-joke derp earlier in the episode, this was a fine outing. We got more information about the world’s background, some sweet magical girl moments, and most of all…the reveal of Shouta!Gil. I hope the anticipation of that was worth it. But, it’s all just getting started!
…some fresh apparel…

You are so quick today. Must be the amount of Pure Love in this week’s episode.
No, only Miyu leaps. Illya flies. 😛
SLICE! OF! LIFE! 😛 I advice certain peoples to skip a certain part of this week’s episode. 😛
There, fixed. 😛 Caren Show ▼
approves. Is that even a spoiler…?
Anyway,
Gilgamesh: YOU think mere mortals can stop Gilgamesh with a few million tons of rock??!?!
Gilgamesh: I R H4Z 4 SP4C3SH7P!
This week on Prisma Illya. Kerbal Space Program! Gil: I R HAS DELTA-V! (Okay, signs been playing too much KSP…) I do hope they fix Vimana in the BD edition.
YAY! MORE! LEZBIAN! LOLI! ACTION!Did not say that. >_> It is still just pure love without any connotations.Naked Young Shota! Truth. Also, Illya, the Shota Molester. She should be more gentle, although I doubt Shota Gil would mind some S&M.
In other news, apparently Zwei Herz BD1 has… more… “Oh! Sweet Neko LOLis” as the omake from reports.

It looked like we wouldn’t have a post out for the 11th. So I got it out…Pure Love is always with me, so it’s no special reason…
RE: Leap. Figure of SPEECH!
..fix Vimana for the BD? Why?
Ah, nice to know about the Herz! BD, you have to up the NEKo LOLi ANTe. Brings to mind the official art I posted for episode six.

Vimana is missing the green wingy bits. Its present in the manga.
Miyu does not understand the meaning of figure of speech. 😛

The green wingy bits look stupid. It looks kinda stupid the way it is, as some shadow rocket, but the green wingy bits look worse.

Did you read the description in the link? Goodness, but someone had a fun word-salad day making that one up.
…but I guess this sort of thing is just an average day for Gilgamesh?

Gil has the original prototype of everything, including wierd ass spaceships! Also prototype nuclear weapons.

Illya has now touched, the ORIGINAL PACKAGE. Actually, she is lucky its only Shota Gil, Adult Gil would have blinded her.
I do find it amusing that Shota!Gil is voiced by Aya Endo. Gil is Sheryl Nome! Being the same voice to one of my favorite female anime characters ever is hilarious.
POWUH: and LOLi Defender with 10998 comments
…in so far as blinding is concerned, for Illya is six of one, and half dozen the other. But she was wearing gloves, and that has to count for something…at least for her.

Given Gilgamesh touched and stole Ilya’s heart in Fate UBW, I say it’s only fair Ilya gets to touch his little spear. Pity she couldn’t steal it for payback…

…and now you’re making me image her getting the Sabre Card from Miyu for some quick, in-and-off-and-out style Install. Don’t know if I should bless you or curse you, but it’s my imagination, so I’ll deal…

Today I learnt two new things:
1) Why the adults are not worried about young girls like Illya & Co going adventuring at night.
2) That episode “Beserker’s first errand” in Carnival Phantasm.

It’s a coincidence outside my anime fandom, but I do admire the real sense of independence the Japanese have; we have helicopter parents here, and it’s very tiring to watch them.
However, it does come with a warning. Today’s independent child could very well be tomorrow’s independent JK, and all the unsavory things that could entail. At least that’s the paranoid outlook.
And, Berserker’s First Errand is too funny not to link:

As I feared, it’s Gilgamesh, even if it’s a miniature version. I only hope he’s not as arrogant as his Zero/UBW counterpart. That’d really get on my nerves.
Like what’s presented, I think the message is the Holy Grail War can applied in different ways. It isn’t restricted to a single outlet to be put in play. Illya and Kuro’s roles not being necessary pretty much confirms but this theory still feels loose.
More Kuro kissing scenes are always a plus.

Canon dictates that even KoGil wonders how the adult version ended up quite a disagreeable person.

I’ll let the golden cat out of the Gate of Babylon (you can’t just let any old cat out of any old bag when it comes to Gilgamesh!), and say he is pretty darn arrogant in this version. But he’s also as cute as a button while doing it. For some, that means levels of terror that should be left undisturbed, but….take it as you must.
I don’t like to spoil, so I’ll go with a clumsy simile. You have pre-heated the oven with your theory. But, you’ve not really set a fair list of ingredients. But, by the next episode you’ll see what will pop onto your grocery list…
..and the kissing scene would have been a plus, if not for Caren….but we take what we can get, eh?

KoGil’s harem of Illya, Miyu, Kuro. Tier two would be Rin and Luvia. Also, since he IS the King, he wouldn’t mind August and Shirou in his male harem. I believe his Charisma Ranking is… A+. That is indeed good.

Why are you leaving Issei and the rest of Illy and Miyu’s friends out of the Harem Plan. It’s good to be the King, after all!

What do you expect of someone who pays his bills with bricks of solid 24k gold. Literally brings a new meaning to shitting bricks (of gold).
