Show by Rock Series Review
Yep this is definitely looks like a final boss fight.
Welp Show by Rock is officially done and I decided to do a video style review of the entire series, but I am curious what everyone actually thought about this series did you like how things played out or did you check out after the third or fourth episode? I hope some of you stuck around to see how things went! Then again I wouldn’t blame you if never even picked it up to begin with.

Also, magica puella cyan.
Looking back, this is a show I took up without expectations and was surprisingly pleased by how it turned out. The music is quite catchy and I’m thinking off adding the Plasmagica cd to the OP/ED cds.
Also, The Goons from Studio Gooneys did a great job on the 3D. Rewatching it repeatedly, their movements actually correspond to what they’re playing.
The downside is probably a weak and fragmented storyline. Then again, they’re only using 5 bands out of the whole inventory. The traditional 2D probably could do better.
Overall, tempted to get the BDs but non-committed.

Retoree? She was alright but for the series she doesn’t really DO a whole lot other than crush hard on Cyan and get depressed when she learned the truth about Cyan coming from another world.
Sure Puella Cyan but with less cheesy plot.

Yeah I like the 3D look even though most fans find it to be EHHHHHHHHHHHH in this, but again I still defend my comments on early posts for Show By Rock. Have we EVER seen CG that good? I honestly don't think CG will ever hit a point in anime where fans find it "AMAZING" or love it, but maybe with more series like Knights of Sidonia? Also we have God Eater coming soon and that is another type of CG filled anime.
AGREED the story for the first 8 or 9 episodes seemed to be all over the place with little to no structure other than Cyan fighting with herself to reveal the truth, but instead the others find out anyway which causes a rift in the band for DRAMA! Yeah I guess if they got along for all 12 episodes it wouldn't feel as real? IDK I wanted more monster of the week and less BOO HOOO I WANT FRIENDS.

I liked the show. I am not as enamored with the Pixarblob animation as others, but it was well done and usually synced pretty well. I also don’t really like that the story had Cyan be so wishy-washy and scared of everything that was happening, I’d have liked her to get over it faster. There also wasn’t a whole lot of explanation brought into the show about what was going on, it was more just “This is happening! We have to do something about it!” And I wish it wasn’t “Grateful King shows up and saves everyone’s bacon”.
But minor quibbles. The show was fun, the music’s pretty good (I like the “woo woo!” parts in the OP song during the chorus especially). I think I liked ChuChu the best, with her pointy guitar.

Yeah I wish they only used the CG bits during the battle scenes instead of the live performances, but I don’t think Bones has ever done any series with singing and dancing even though the characters in this anime never really “dance” other than that it’s like a few people pointed out this is a cross thing with Hello Kitty so I guess they plan on making figures or something based off those CG characters.
LOL yeah p much it was half Greatful King showing up to give Cyan some extra motivation to transform into Super Cyan and save the day!
I like the OP/ED and yeah out of the main four girls ChuChu was the best because she actually had goals for the band while the other two were just there.
