Uzume is being too nice and naïve not putting her dolls on the offensive. It would have been bad for her if Manai was actually acting out of her free will. She better realize soon playtime ended ever since she made that contract.
Also, she can be quite a ditz not paying mind to her surroundings when she’s talking to Madeleine especially when it’s out loud and in the open. Seeing that tends to get annoying. On the other hand, Madeleine was pushing it telling Uzume what she can and can’t do. Anyone else would have snapped at her already.
That bastard misusing his dolls needs a serious beating. He’s so pathetic. I cringed every time he showed up on screen and felt sorry for the dolls that have to work under him. Hopefully Uzume will find a way to seperate them.

I know right? Uzume needs to wake up, but I kind of wish that Manai was acting for herself instead of the whole “being controlled” setup >.< Agreed on Madeleine being way to clingy towards her new master. I hope we see him return and Uzume kicking his butt and I bet money he is being controlled or is he? That final scene kind of reveals that he has a purpose for battling! I just want to know more.

I think this is definitely the ‘normal’ magical girl show for the season. I wish Uzume was a little bit more consistent. She oscillates between “Waaah, do everything for me!” and “Stop helping me!” Super-helpful Madeleine is still the best doll, tho.

I wouldn’t say it’s the hookiest yet because that OP has competition. There’s the OP 「Birth」 by Eri Kitamura from Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi that has nice melodies and good timing between classical and rock music, 「Shape My Story」 from Stella Jogakuin Koutouka C3-bu and 「Sympathy」 from High School DXD New.

I have to agree with you about Madeleine. At first I just liked her design, but I like her actual personality now too.

I think it was an interesting twist about her getting a bit clingy. Combined with the hints they keep dropping about their previous master, it helps deal with the bit of overacting that all the girls do: Sasara’s overbitchiness, Katia’s kinda-whinginess, Madeleine’s overhelpfulness/clinginess, etc. All of them seem like individual reactions to some amount of mistreatment / attention-starvation from before. It also helps to put Uzume’s term as their master in perspective, since we’ve seen two other pretty crummy masters, and one who got possessed. Yeah, Uzume’s not perfect, but she does seem to care about them, even if she acts like a kid about it a lot of the time. And more importantly, she’s becoming their friend.

I’m getting the feeling that over time, Uzume is going to get better at fighting, and maybe that Manai will join her and be some back up. Because Uzume needs some.
At least, if we end up with a couple different villains, we’ll have more dolls to see, like how this week there are those ones that belong to that guy, as well as Manai’s. That gives everyone a chance to have a few favorite designs from them all.
I’m also guessing that Uzume will eventually join the card club, and Tuxedo Mask will be the teacher adviser person, considering he’s the homeroom teacher. Although it’ll be kind of sad since Uzume and Manai haven’t connected the dots. There’s no way anyone else has that hair.
I’m just glad that the story isn’t a “villain per episode” format or “challenge of the week” kind of thing.

They’d get destroyed by the Stella girls. Heck, so far, the only reason Uzume’s won anything is because apparently her dolls are completely OP compared to everyone else’s. I mean, the first battle, Sasara just gets a sword and immediately chumps that other doll? The only time they’ve had a challenge was the ambush in the abandoned lab.
