Well hello there anime series featuring the amazing voice talents of Kana Hanazawa and of course Yoko Hikasa aka are you excited for this series yet Mr. Tofu? I can seriously hear like a million plus fans drooling right now. Anyway, I noticed this season was filled with a lot of shows with girls swinging around swords and various pointy weapons, but hey I guess that works for this season…I guess it could be worse it could be just countless swimsuits all over the place. I do like the idea of gods fighting each other! Wait is this basically the harem comedy version of Fate/Zero? Only without all the drama and backstabbing every other episode!? So back to the voice acting again besides the two popular girls we have Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Array from Rinne no Lagrange), Eri Kitamura (Karen Araragi from Nisemonogatari), Rina Hidaka (Yuniko Kouzuki from Accel World) and finally Yui Ogura (Yunoha Shroor from Aquarion EVOL) and a few new voices. |

I liked what I saw in the trailer. Will it consistently have action at the same quality as in it? They do say never to trust one, and I was burned by MajiKoi which had some great scenes in the first episode and almost none else. Then again, MajiKoi was pretty funny and enjoyable overall, so if the show could exploit the similar setup for some comedy, it could turn out well. This show just might be crazy enough to work.

So, an eleven years old girl named Chitose likes an older guy named Hiroshi. She tries to hook up with him. Will Hiroshi succumb into the path of pedophilia?
Yeah, that’s what Chitose Get You! is all about. I don’t know what the hell SILVER LINK (Dusk Maiden of Amnesia) is thinking by animating this. Maybe they decided to animate something, um, “refreshing” for this summer? Whatever it is, I’m sad that SILVER LINK is animating this. And what’s more sad than that? Hatano Wataru (Lutz in Jormungand, Kazama Norio in Sasameki Koto) is going to voice Hiroshi. Just… Why? *sob* I don’t really care much about Chitose’s VA though, Nakaya Sayaka (Aida Orine in AKB0048). This anime will be Sano Takao’s debut as Director, so I won’t expect much from it. Heck, not even going to expect anything from this kind of story. |

There are times that I can only roll my eyes at such premise of little girls falling for elder dudes. Though, reading through some online references, seems like Hiroshi is not going to be such a hentai about it because even if Chitose keeps on nudging him, he would simply ignore her or play along as an elder brother, stopping all advances in their tracks. As this a 4-panel gag manga adaptation, expect funnies like Kill me baby! and don’t have too high expectations from it. |

Girls are treasure; tough to disagree with Ryosuke there. His love of women and his crazy sex drive do get him into trouble when he finds a cute redhead in the middle of the street who is being ignored by everyone. Lisara Restall, being the tsundere she is, is thankful to have someone notice her, so she goes with him back to his place where she stabs him. As a Shinigami, she needs energy to remain in the human world and ends up taking Ryousuke’s sex drive as a result.
This Feel series does seem a lot like High School DxD at first glance. Redhead heroine (Lisara Restall), a pervish boy nicknamed Pervsuke and an AT-X televised series that’s expected to be filled with plenty of nudity. There are differences between the series that need to be addressed. Lisara is more of a tsundere-type and could never fill out a bra the way Rias Gremory can, we’re looking at Shinigami instead of Devils, and comedy seems a bit more of a focal point than in DxD. Ryousuke has to give up his sex drive in order to keep Lisara in the human world, and it was pretty funny to read in the manga how he dealt with the lack of that sex drive; the pervishness is still strong with him in spite of his sex drive being taken away, and I don’t think he’ll play a fighting role the way DxD’s Issei did. I’m fully expecting this to be Summer’s top-tier ecchi show and hoping that it’ll be an enjoyable and fun story to follow. |

So this series made me think of the creators of both High School DxD and Astarotte no Omocha! getting together and they were all like DUDES! LET’S COMBINE OUR SHOWS IN ONE AMAZING SERIES! And then all of them signed in blood that they would create this random ecchi series or something like that? Anyway this hilarious line cracks me up! “to recover the sexual desire, Ryosuke has no choice but to help Lisarah’s search.” Oooooh I am sure main character wants to “search” for something…anyway…this series will get filed under watch out of curiosity or for the lulz watching. So yeah *puts on glasses* I bet good old Sunbeam-chan will make her appearance to basically interrupt all the good stuff and by stuff I mean ALL DA LOVELY PLOTS! OH LORD THE PLOTS…good luck surviving this series to any bloggers out there…I salute you.

The premise… is… hard to swallow. But I guess this is what you expect from the director and studio team that brought us such works as Aki Sora and Yosuga no Sora. Wait, those are actually pretty good works. And the director also has Spice and Wolf to his name. I guess this could be worth checking out, but I’m going to have a tight leash.

Ahahahahahah what the hell is going on in this series!? HOW DO YOU SCREW UP CHOOSING CLUBS? I guess being a harem lead pretty much requires that you have to be dumber than a box of rocks and completely dense to all those feels towards the girls, but yeah they lost me at Astronomy Club in the first place because damn that sounds really really boring; however I am sure there are a small handful of Astronomy nuts out there that can get behind and follow a series like that. |

This seems pretty generic sadly with the MC landing himself in the Otaku Club rather than Astronomy Club… Like Fosh said, how the hell can you screw up joining a specific club? Sure, you mixed up the pronunciation and there’s a crazy girl with a telescope there but still, how stupid can you get? Anyways, some hilarity will ensue and I’m there’s going to be some catfight related to get Itsuki’s attention. I have seen this too many times to care and Seitokai no Ichizon was really not that funny for me. If this is what you like, go for it. If not, stay the hell away. |

Alright Joshiraku you totally had me at “A group of girls discusses random things,” which to me personally translates to Yuri Yuri and Nichijou. However, if you are familiar with such shows you probably know how things usually play out right? For the most part those series can seriously take one thing and ramble on about it for hours of hilarious fun or it can crash and burn. That said I loved the hell out of the random fun of Nichijou and the crazy fun behind Yuru Yuri, but I can’t wait to see another series with character designs from Masayoshi Tanaka who worked on Toradora, Ano Natsu, Ano Hana and yes he even worked on Highschool of the Dead! which usually makes you laugh or bust out an epic facepalm. Voice work has a small cast consisting of Ayane Sakura (Hotaru from Hotarubi no Mori e), Kotori Koiwai (Yoshikuni XI from Ao no Exorcist), Nozomi Yamamoto (Yukimura from Haganai), Saori Goto (Moeka from Steins;gate) and finally Yoshino Nanjou (Sayuri from Another). |

I think…with these kinds of plot lines you have to have acquired some sort of taste for them, or else you won’t really enjoy it/stick to the show after the first episode, especially if the first couple of jokes aren’t instantly gratifying enough. Personally, I’ve come to enjoy these sorts of plotlines, so I know I’ll be checking out a couple of episodes. I’m pretty sure a couple of girls can come up with some interesting things to talk about for me to listen in on.~ |

YES, CHOCOLATE. Is it wrong to be uber-excited about a show just because chocolate is involved? *ahem* School club premise, check. AIC Build, check. Awesome VA cast (Asami Imai<3), check. I will definitely be checking out Chocolate the Animation (good one Kara!) this Summer, though I’m admittedly not expecting anything to blow me away since the premise doesn’t sound very inspired. I don’t care how “generic” a show sounds as long as it’s entertaining, and if this is even half as fun as Haganai was a few seasons ago then all the better!~ I find it interesting that the food research club starts with seven members, since typically in these club scenarios (or at least from what I’ve seen) the first few episodes are dedicated to gaining members or an adviser. Skipping past that means we’ll probably get to jump into those “issues facing the school” right away. The club itself is based around food which immediately caught my attention, I mean … who doesn’t like food?
The character designs from the trailer and promotional artwork seem to be very diverse and quirky, especially Asami Imai’s character, Michiru, who seems like a soft-spoken character. The brotag looks like your typical harem lead, but he’s not the only male character in the club. Elements Garden is apparently doing music for the show; I loved their work with the Symphogear OST, so I’m looking forward to more from them. With all that said, I’m trying not to set my expectations too high for Koi Chocolate but I have this feeling that it’ll be a very enjoyable Summer anime to watch at the end of a busy day. |

Chocolate themed anime series?! WHAT is going on here have we really ran out of original ideas for anime that we now turn to food? Oh wait there was Ben-TO and that elf filled series about bread making… Nevermind! Sounds like Haganai huh, Jrow? That sounds really interesting to me, but I wonder if it will be anything like Amagami SS? I guess it helps to have the same character designs by GOHDA Hiroaki. I will probably give this a shot because of the designs alone and I have to say Michiru Morishita looks like a cat girl and boy does she ever look cute! I will try this series out, but hopefully it doesn’t turn out to be too boring like Bread the animation, which is also based on food as a central “theme”. |

Sooo a complete anime series based around the theme of body swapping? I know recently Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, Natsurio Kiseki and Sket Dance just did this type of thing already, but hey there are lots of other series that play around with that idea in one episode. So how in the world will Kokoro Connect pull that off? I seriously suspect the whole swapping theme to be played out during the random comedic scenes, but hey the creators might surprise us and throw in some drama with something like experiencing life through someone else body? That always leaves room for shocking discoveries right? And yes I know most of us are already thinking this…if the guys are constantly swapping bodies with the girls won’t that turn into some random ecchii fanservice stuff? Especially with any “bathroom” related thing or maybe things will it turn out just like Nyaruko-san after she learned that boys bodies are really great? Just kidding! I really hope they only drill that into our minds once or twice…
As for the voice work for Kokoro Connect one name made me instantly want to watch this series after hearing her hnnnnng voice in the trailer thanks to my favorite Hisako Kanemoto! Aka Ika Musume, Cure Peace and Yuki from Kore wa zombie and many more cute characters so HELL YES! I CAN’T WAIT. Anyway there are others to talk about right? Starting off with Aki Toyosaki (Chiyuri from Accel World), Miyuki Sawashiro (Yomi from BRS TV), Mizushima Takahiro (Yahiro from Guilty Crown), Kenji Fujiwara (Zen Fudou from Aquarion EVOL), Shizuka Itou (Koko from Jormungand) and finally Takuma Terashima (Umehara from Amagami SS+). So yeah! We have a interesting bunch of actors and a few surprise ones thrown in like Kenji Fujiwara? HELL YA Zen Fudou in the house! |

THIS IS A TRAP, GUYS. I CAN FEEL IT. It’s posing itself as a typical school-setting anime with cute character designs (and it might genuinely be; let me have fun exaggerating), but next thing you know they’re going to try to inject some intense drama to keep the body switching premise interesting. I can already see it now: “Hey, here’s some nice, mellow slice of life moments with potential romantic relationships ensuing–THEN BAM! DRAMA!” and then I proceed to cry, whine, and bite my nails. I have a feeling the story will revolve around, ‘It’s fun until someone gets hurt’… However, knowing the potential of putting myself through ridiculous drama, I’ve become quite excited for this. Body-switching may not be the most original plot action, but it’ll be interesting to see just how they come to body switch, whom they’ll body switch with, and what they’ll do with the bodies they’re switched into. Bring it on Kokoro Connect! I’m pretty sure I can handle you!~

Ahaha Fosh, the whole awkward gender situation came to my mind as well. That’ll be funny to watch play out, but I also hope it’s not a constant thing. From the trailer it seems as though it won’t all be fun and games however. The last scene of the girl, what I can only assume, committing suicide indicates that there will probably be some level of drama involved, which I’m actually hoping for. Like Kara said, the body swapping could get monotonous, but if they can involve the character’s personal issues and drama into the gimmick instead of it constantly being about comedy, then it might not seem repetitive at all! I guess it all depends on the direction. Loving the character designs by the way!

Oh hey look another generic little sister themed anime series for the summer season! I honestly think every season of anime has to have this just like how there will always be Queens Blade. Oh yes! I agree anaaga can literally smell the incest plot from a mile away, but I guess we will have to play guess, which character in the harem is the real sister! I will award anyone a million internet points if they can guess the right character.
As far as the actual voice acting goes I can only recognize Asuka Ogami (Touwa Erio from Denpa Onna), Ayana Taketatsu (Tsugumi from Guilty Crown), Ayane Sakura (Hotaru Takegawa from Hotarubi no Mori e), Kaori Ishihara (Madoka from Rinne no Lagrange) and finally Rina Hidaka (Yuniko Kouzuki from Accel World or last Order from the Toaru no Index series). |

I think we all know where this is headed. There is going to be incest. I don’t know the degree this anime will shove it into our faces, but with a set-up like this, it’s unavoidable. In fact, there is no reason to have this idea unless you were aiming for incest from the start! *sighs* If you’re REALLY in need of a romance story this season and don’t mind a little siblingxsibling “quality time” then…go for it. I won’t judge you (much).

Before I start fanboying like a crazy person, Tari Tari is the latest PA Works anime following Another from two seasons ago. The story however, as I’m sure you can tell by the premise, is nothing like Another. If anything, it’s a lot more in line with Hanasaku Iroha from last year, also produced by PA Works. The story will follow a group of mix-gender students lost in that awkward phase between adulthood and childhood making the most of their final year of high school (well, that’s what I’ve taken from it). There’s a nice mix of characters here who all seem to be diverse in their activities, but will be brought together by music. I expect Tari Tari to be very character-driven much like HanaIro, but unlike their past couple shows, PA Works will be animating a completely original series without source material.
Okay, now I can fanboy. PA WORKS WOO~ Anything labeled with them as producers gets an automatic watch from me. HanaIro was one of my favorite series of last year and Another wasn’t too bad either. But what stands out the most with their produced works are how beautiful and consistent they are. They captured the lighthearted, coming-of-age emotions attached to HanaIro, as well as the ominous and dark tones of Another perfectly, and I’m incredibly excited to see what direction they’ll take next. My only hope is that it’s more than one cour in length. *crosses fingers* From what I’ve read the director, Masakazu Hashimoto, has done small jobs for PA Work’s shows before, and has also directed episodes of anime like Fullmetal Alchemist and Prince of Tennis. I’m hopeful that he’ll do a great job with Tari Tari. The female voice cast has some very familiar faces such as Ayahi Takagaki and Asami Seto, but what I really love is that the male seiyuu are both very new to the industry. Nobunaga Shimazaki you might remember from Ano Natsu, where he voiced Kaito. I think he’s underrated and can’t wait to hear more from him. Natsuki Hanae on the other hand is voicing his first character ever. New voices are always a bonus! If my praise wasn’t indication enough, I’m incredibly excited for Tari Tari! |

BEHOLD THE POWER OF DA MUSIC! That is gangster yo! I wonder if they form the rival band to go up against Girls Dead Monster and those K-ON girls? I can imagine such things ending in a massive bloodbath… Anyway, character designs by Kanami Sekiguchi who worked on Hanasaku Iroha and Tari Tari is going to be produced by the great P.A. Works? The only thing I can say about that is ALL ABOARD THE AWESOME ARTWORK TRAIN! So yeah they have me pretty much sold on that, but I am still wondering about the storyline…I guess this will end up on my “watching list because it looks really pretty”.

The trailer makes this seem so…boring, but at the same time I can’t help but feel interested in this. Maybe this is appealing to the music connoisseur in me, or to my recent taste for slice-of-life, either way with the classic P.A Works animation, I probably won’t be able to stop myself from catching this first episode.~ |

*Takes a deep breath* OH MY GOD! Hoooraaaaaayyy! MORE AKARINNNN!! And the great character interactions between Toshio Kyoko, Yui Funami and Chinatsu Yoshikawa? HELL YES SIGN ME UP PLEASE!! I remember I fell in complete love with the first season because of the character designs and I needed a comedic fix after Ika Musume S2 ended, but I will say after I saw Yuri in the title and originally had no desire to watch it; however I tried it out and was hooked. That said I have to say the overall comedy pushed the yuri themes in the background for the most part, but there was a certain episode in season one that was yuri filled to the max! Thanks to Chinatsu’s hilarious scene as she chased Akari around her house trying to get a kiss. So I can’t say this series has no yuri because there are a few moments when it happens, but Yuru Yuri does it in a comical way that makes you bust a gut laughing! I would say if you are afraid of the phrase yuri in the title don’t be. Seriously give it a shot if you want to laugh. |

I dropped the first season halfway into the second episode. One thing I had found disappointing was that there was no yuri to that point in a show that’s ostensibly about it. But I know this has quite the following, and I’m curious about trying rum raisin ice cream, so I think I’ll give this one a shot. Without catching up on the first season.

It took me a few episodes to really get into Yuru Yuri before I realized how absolutely hilarious the characters were. (Akarinnn~♥) It took me by surprise since I had read in a few places about how “boring” it was for a comedy. I can’t say I agree with them anymore because Yuru Yuri has some great personalities that never failed to make me laugh each episode. I have high hopes that the second season will be just as funny!

This summer season looks so good, so many shows I want to check out.
Recap of the last season, I think I’ve gotten better at picking shows I will enjoy, of the 8 I wanted to see, I kept all 8 (Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?, Acchi Kocchi, Natsuiro Kiseki, Accel World, Upotte!!, Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, Jormungand, Eureka Seven Astral Ocean). Only one of my seven on the fence shows did I pick up (Hyouka). I have Tasogare Otome x Amnesia on my list to check out (got the first two episodes) since people have recommended it to me.
Not too bad, 100% of my must-watch and picked up one or two.
For this season, I defintely want to watch the continuation of Horizon. But there are so many new shows THAT-I-MUST-SEE!!! This season looks like it’s going to be rough for me…

I approve of this list especially with Eureka Seven Ao! That series needs more love, but ah well sequel series are either fueled by the fanbase or it keeps new fans away because they haven’t seen the original Eureka Seven series.
I will be watching Horizon for the mindless fight scenes because the story is so damn confusing! AHHHHHH!! But at least the action is fine.

Hoping to see it jump over some of the AW fail.

Hagure Yuusha no Estetica: Looks like a good ride and what a great ensemble of seiyuus. Nobuhiko Okamoto, Yoko Hikasa, Ayana Taketatsu, Kana Hanazawa and Rina Satou?! Damn!! I’m sold so bring it on!!
Arcana Famiglia: Strong female lead for the win!! I’m getting some Black Butler and Ao no Exorcist vibes just looking at the cover art. The name Arcana Famiglia sounds like a mafia group and the father is using a medieval method of marrying off his daughter.
@Karakuri: Is the game version really good? Because Hiiro no Kakera was a game but I heard the anime adaption wasn’t doing good.
Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse: Satelight again? I’m seeing that name a lot since watching Symphogear and AKB0048. Seems I have another mecha anime to check out but I don’t know what to expect. Rinne no Lagrange 2: Finally it’s back!! It just can’t come fast enough. More mecha and closet yuri vibes to look forward to!!! No need to ask. I can feel the excitement. “So, what do you think we get to see in the second half of Lagrange?” First off, we’ll get the trio back together, more mecha battles, more suspecting on that shifty character Moid who reminds me a lot of Fumito Nanahara and more explanations behind those weird flowers coming from the robots along with that prophecy.
Sword Art Online: I’ll always consider watching an anime that shares similar cyber elements like the .hack franchise or Accel World. Even the part about literally dying after dying in the game sounds like The Matrix. Some of the cast is unknown to me but I’ll use this as an opportunity to familiarize their voices.
Campione!: It might be good but the First Impression is needed to be confirmed. The blonde girl seems like a strong character. Yoko Hikasa (Tofu, you must be loving this), Eri Kitamura and Kana Hanazawa?! *flatlines* CLEAR!!! *zaps* Sorry about that. My heart couldn’t handle the sudden rush of happiness.
Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai: I have to agree with Fosh and Jrow. This feels like High School DxD. Not to mention the girl has red hair except thankfully, the beautiful Rias Gremory wasn’t a tsundere (That can be a problem) and the guy sounds like DxD’s Issei Hyoudou but the trailer show different elements. I’m still onboard to watch it. Fill out a bra the way Rias Gremory can? Rias is one of a kind. She’s hard to top.
Binbougami ga!: I’ll give it a go. The story is weird but will be considered since it has Hanazawa as the lead.
Oda Nobuna no Yabou: Feudal Japan as a setting is a start and the blonde girl looks like the strong silent type (given what I’ve seen in the trailer). I hope it doesn’t disappoint. And I’m already prepared for some possible sexually suggestive screencaps.
Nice strings of specials (Inu x Boku SS, Persona 4). I’m even inclined to watch the Guilty Crown special.

THE GAME VERSION OF ARCANA IS SO MUCH FREAKING FUN. …I’m working on a review that will hopefully be out soon, but yeah. It’s my favourite for so many reasons.
Let me tell you right now, Hiiro was an EXTREMELY boring game (the anime fixed that kind of, but there’s no fixing DEEN’s shitty animation). It made me extremely apathetic due to the sheer length and amount of things it wanted me to read. Arcana is more action and Felicita is 189234789021 times more awesome.

The suits for the girls in Muv-Luv reminds me of the suit Guilty Crown’s Tsugumi uses when she’s doing her hacking. But it also brings back memories of HoTD, mainly Rei and Saeko showing off their curves. And giants robots are here. Gundam, anyone? We can only hope it turns out good.
It’s about time Rinne no Lagrange returned to us. The wait was agonizing. More of Madoka, Lan and Muginami along with mecha action. I’m still bummed it’s 12 episodes again. Well, nothing’s perfect. The only fact that might be liked is that when it’s over, we’ll be here just in time for the second half of Jormungand.
I don’t even care if this Guilty Crown special turns out ridiculous or not because I’ve watched the full series. I’ll watch it simply because it’s there and I want to know what the story is about. I miss the pulling weapons out of people’s bodies, though.

Yes. How many rom coms shows are you going to watch this season, Skylion? All of the Rom Coms! ALL OF THEM!
Yuru Yuri. One of the things I love about this show: As a writer you try to find the perfect alchemy between tropes. Comedy tropes and Yuri tropes. The first outing worked that alchemy to perfection. I don’t expect the second season to fail. If anything it will take the sting out of No More Acchi Kocchi.
Campione! I like the premise. It sounds like a good mix up between shounen and shoujo styles. Plus, beautiful, strong girl in an elegant red dress with a rapier. I’m in.
Chitose. I’m still a fan of Kodomo no Jikan. That manga takes you by surprise. So, we have roughly the same premise but with comedy, and the main male lead being a decent fellow. I’m in.
This is why I can’t have Sex: I loved High School DxD. It was goofy, dramatic, oppai, and lot’s of fun. That this mildly imitates that is not a negative to me. Besides, this lady has a scythe. I’m in.
Astronomy Club mix up show: Yeah, I’m in. I mean, why not?
Joshiraku: This seasons equivalent to Lucky Star!? Sure, I’ll start a 5:1 betting pool on that. I’m in.
Chocolate: So, I can’t watch you NOW. That really sucks. I’m in.
Kokoro Connect: So, K-On’s character designer, and Sliver Link is doing it. I mean, they went from Nice Try Guys, to OMG the last three episodes of Dusk Maiden was so fucking METAL. I wouldn’t exactly say Haru is the Shu of Accel World (Though they both have the same seiyuu). He’s more resistant. He doesn’t wallow in his self pity for long and he’s quick to getting back on his feet. I can honestly call that an improvement.

I watched UtaKoi and thought it was ok. It’s one of those that feels like there’s a lot of nuance and expectation and cultural ‘DNA’ that isn’t in the dialogue, and so it doesn’t get translated. But I’ll definitely watch more of it.

3. Campione (Hot Girls with Swords always sell well to me; having Hikasa Yoko in the cast is a plus too)

4. Sword Art Online (Rumours are flying around that the male protagonist of Sword Art Online is actually the father of Accel World’s Kuroyukihime. Can someone confirm this?)
5. Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse (For the Mecha)
6. CODE GEASS Hangyaku no Lelouch: Nunnally in Wonderland (Always nice to see Lelouch and company again after he died in R2)
7. CODE GEASS: boukaku no akito (The EU better have cooler Knightmare Frame designs this time around. The Panzer Hummel Knightmare Frame in season II of Lelouch of the Rebellion was sort of a disappointment – it was boring but practical, but when the Lancelot Air Cavalry arrived, they got decimated)
8. Nazo no Kanojo X Specials (Urabe Mikoto + Drool + Panty Scissors. ‘Nuff said.)

If I remember what my light novel reading friends are telling me, yes, SAO and AW are in the same “universe”, and SAO is sort of a prequel to Accel World. That’s assuming Kazuto Kirigaya/Kirito of SAO is the dad of AW’s Kuroyukihime. I think the AW internet collar is a derivative of NervGear technology.

1.) Kirito from SAO time-traveled into the future, which is Accel World, and may or may not be related to Kuroyukihime.
OR
2.) AW and SAO take place in the same time and in the same universe, and Kirito is not Kuroyukihime’s dad. Aw. T_T

Also, AW belongs from the same timeline as SAO, with SAO taking place a few decades earlier.

OK. Just watched the Campione pre-air.
First: Animation quality it pretty good. I suspect that the full version will be even better.
Second: Characters. So far they seem to be cut from the basic of tropes, but they do have something…
Third. Exposition between the workings of the Heretic Gods and humans is just damn intriguing. This exposition was very well weaved into characterization of our main leads, and the supporting cast.
Fourth: Solid magical stuff. None of the arcane stuff should surprise an average anime fan, but they do put a good spin on it, and make it their own.
Fifth: I like these two main characters; earnesty goes quite a long way for the female lead, and sheer guts for the male.
In essence it looks like solid entertainment. It has a good deal of eyecandy for the female lead, and the male lead doesn’t look like a complete dork. The romance starts in the first episode, and that, in and of itself, is something of a draw. She really digs this guy for reasons she may not be aware, so expect a slight tsundere attitude from her, with the compliment WTF from the male.
IOW: I had middling expectations from the show, and it managed to exceed them. I’m glued.

Oda Nobuna no Yabou After Sengoku Collection, I just cannot afford to miss out on this genre. The character design is appealing, and the action promises to be something to watch. Now, Sengoku Collection had something of a vignette approach to it that I really loved. but Oda looks to have more of a “long range” story approach. I will be checking this out.

Unexpected side-effect of Metanorn 2012 Summer Preview Post:
My backlog of old shows has grown almost larger than the new shows I’m hoping to watch! And that’s after finishing Yuru Yuri season 1. I wonder if I should stop while I’m ahead? Well, I’m certainly not going to hope that an upcoming season sucks to catch up, because better a big backlog of great things to watch than a hole with nothing good to see.

I really enjoyed Yuru Yuri. Lots and lots of fun. 3 episodes into Rinne no Lagrange, and it seems a lot of fun so far as well. I should be able to catch up before falling too far behind S2. 🙂
