Don’t you know, puzzles are love? They have feelings too. The finale of season one was delayed to first April so the jury is still out on what would happen between Rook and Kaito’s epic fight. Even if he goes super saiyan, at least Kaito is surviving for another season. Now run wise, this series had its ups and downs, specifically derp animation but the uniqueness of puzzles (they have a special puzzle guy on staff!), the story progress and the bromance made it delicious. However, the second season looks even more promising because the new cast is HNNNGG worthy. No one’s getting replaced though and the additions to cast is Orpheus’s order, the opposing forces for our nakama group? Behold, the leader Freecell: Hiroshi Kamiya (Koyomi Araragi, Natsume Takachi, Orihara Izaya), Pinochle: Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki, Star, Hidenori), Doubt: Daisuke Ono (Koizumi, Shizuo, Satou), Melancholy: Momoko Saitou (Nazuna, Mami, Miho), Mizerka: Youko Hikasa (Mio, Maya, Literature Girl) and Whist: Katsuyuki Konishi (Kamina, Oga, Haji). See? This with the old cast, music to my ears. Add some badass puzzles and story; we should be set at least for a cour to be entertained. This time, along with Junichi Satou would be assisted by Hirotaka Endo on the director’s front. I don’t think anything could top brain diver but the song on PV is pretty good, so let’s look forward to Nano and ammoflight this time. |

You will need to have seen season 1 before watching this, so everyone planning on watching this probably knows what they’re getting into. For those who don’t, Phi Brain is about a boy named Kaito who is unlucky enough to has an armlet latch onto him and accelerate his thought when he’s solving a puzzle. This doesn’t sound so bad, but it makes him the target of an organization called the POG, who force him to solve puzzles. Still doesn’t sound harsh? If you don’t solve the puzzle in time, you die. Season 2 features 6 new characters who are most likely here to mess things up for Kaito once again and force him to play more puzzle deathmatches.

HELL YES! When I picked up season one to blog on Metanorn I had no idea what I was getting myself into. The plot sounded so dumb at first, I mean a comedy series where a zombie is the main lead? And you mix in vampires, magical girls and demons?! I honestly had the time of my life following it till the end. So, season one was solid as a stand alone comedy for me and they even managed to squeeze in a few d’awwww moments between Hellscythe and Ayumu, but agreed Jrow, Ayumu’s magical girl transformation was the best comedic scene of 2011! That moment had me laughing for a long time…So, yes I am really excited to see twelve more episodes with this cast of supernatural characters with a moe magical girl of course.
Voice acting side of this undead world looks great with Junji majima (Ryuuji from Toradora!), Iori Nomizu (Yumi from Another), Midori Tsukimiya (Nyankichi from Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi), Ai Shimizu (Mitsuki from Kyokai Senjou no Horizon), Aya Goda (Furan from Maken-ki!), Hiroyuki Yoshino (Bossun from Sket Dance), Hisako kanemoto (Yayoi from Smile precure), Hitomi Nabetame (Margery from Shakugan no Shana final), Mina (Minori from Maken-Ki!), Noriko Shitaya (Haruko from Maken-Ki!), Rie Yamaguchi (Yurako from Kamisama dolls), and finally a fan favorite on Metanorn by a selected few Yoko Hikasa (Rias from Highschool DxD). I can’t wait to hear the newest character join the insane fun with Chris! I think she will blend in quite well with the others. |

Ayumu is the greatest magical girl in the world (yeah, move over Madoka). Just sayin’. Anyways, this is another anime from DEEN, but (surprisingly), the original actually turned out pretty good. In fact, I’d even go as far as calling it freaking hilarious. Hopefully season 2 picks up with more of the comedic plot that kind of…died in the original, but in any case, a new harem character sounds good! The director this time around is the same guy, but to give you a broader view, he also directed Macademi Wasshoi! and the second season of School Rumble, so I’d say he has this comedy harem thing down.

I blogged Kore wa Zombie season 1, and I had a lot of fun with that show. Ayumu’s magical girl transformation was one of 2011’s funniest moments in anime, and his harem was really fun (except for Seraphim. Can’t call a guy a piece of shit when you fight like a piece of shit, you crappy Kyuketsu Ninja). So, yeah I think Seraphim’s a pretty crap character, but anyways, I really wanted a season 2 after discovering how much LN content there was and feelings that season 1 left a lot of things on the table for more anime.

This one is pretty known in the underground of hell’s kitchen. Well, something like that. It’s not everyday that you get a series with a strong female lead. The series follows a young arm dealer named Koko Hekmatyar (such a persian sounding name), who sells weapons under HCLI, a weapons corporation. However, she doesn’t follow the legit methods of selling weapons and slipping between international law enforcers is her hobby. The reason she travels with her team of bodyguards who are mostly ex-military veterans. Jonah, a child soldier becomes a recent addition to her crew. He is pretty skilled even if he looks like an albino shrimp but ironically hates arms dealers. The only reason for him to join Koko is to find the arms dealer responsible for his family’s death. I’m sure the anime won’t be able to show all the violence but I can only hope to never see the dark deathbeams that we saw in Deadman. However, following Koko and crews escapades around the world has to be interesting. It’s White Fox after all, so I’m already at ease. The music will be amazing with Taku Iwasaki (genius behind C, Katanagatari and Gurren Lagann) composing. Nagi has performed the ED (you know her more for supercell work), while OP by Mami Kawada (check out the PV). The extended trailer has a Persian/Arabic feel to it and I’m totally loving this. Season two will air in Fall so don’t disregard it as a one-cour show. |

White Fox seems to be keeping busy and slowly working its way up the ranks in terms of notoriety. From Katanagatari to Steins;Gate to the upcoming Jormungand – they might become a studio to reckon with. I’ll be curious to see how they handle Jormungand since it seems like a very action-based show. Action scene usually demand impressive (or at least…not sucky) animation to be successfully pulled off. I’m rooting for you, White Fox! Dazzle us with another title with smooth animation like Steins;Gate, and you’re sure to win over otaku’s hearts. Combined with the hit-or-miss director, Keitaro Motonaga, the story might turn out a bit dicey. Let’s hope he’s having one of his “good days.” What really has me intrigued with this show is…well…the usual thing I look at when deciding which anime to watch. The plot. I always crave something new and exciting, and a show about an arms dealer seems like a good way to scratch that itch. Mindless action shows are great – action shows with a fun premise are even better. It would be nice if the seiyuu cast had some of my favourites to make the deal even sweeter, but alas, you can’t get everything. Ah, they’re still talented seiyuu who have played a ton of characters (Mutsumi Tamura being the only exception. But hey, she sang the “Kill Me Baby” theme song!) but I don’t particularly feel the desire to fangirl over any of them. All in all, Jormungand looks like a nice fun show with lots of action.

This is coming from the same studio who brought you Steins; Gate, so already this sounds excellent. Even better, the director did Katanagatari. …He also directed School Days too, but let’s not go into that. The seiyuu cast also looks excellent, with Sayaka Ohara (Irisviel from Fate/Zero), Shizuka Itou (Himawari from XXXHolic) and Unshou Ishizuka (Dojima from Persona 4) all lending their voice acting skills for this production. Mutsumi Tamura (Sonya from Kill Me Baby, a TON of shota characters) is voicing a shota again, but hey, at least she’s proven that she’s good at it. Personally, this whole thing reminds me more of Darker Than Black more than Canaan (…don’t ask me why), but the life of an arms dealer sounds intriguingly badass to say the least.

Oh this anime has a very original anime beginning: our heroine Kaguya getting washed ashore the island of Wyndaria after a great storm… Usually it’s the guy who gets washed up like Star Driver, Guilty Crown, etc. but hey, beginning wet fanservice?! With her senses she has also lost her memories and emotions. So, this hunk of a girl meets a swordsman named Rick, who wounds up working at the island’s bakery. However, things don’t end here as all peace of Wyndaria is taken away with the advent of pirates who are after a special spirit stone worn around Kaguya’s neck (Does this remind you of someone?! Isanami from Brave10…. Oh god, such fail). So, Rick takes up to himself along with his co-workers (Nellis, Amyl, and Aerie) to help the damsel in distress regain her lost memories and bring back peace to island… Oh god, Production I.G, why the hell are you producing an RPG game?! I’ll only test this out for Hiroshi Kamiya but seriously, why I.G… Why…?! |

The only real thing I happen to notice about Shining Hearts, those character designs by Tony Taya!? I always liked his amazing artwork. Sure most of the stuff he works on is more on the H side of anime…and a fantasy setting really doesn’t excite me much. Usually I take a pass at that setting, but I might give this a shot and yes Kara the main guys name is Rick? Ahahaha good job! The only other Ricks I know in anime are from Macross and Arakawa under the bridge. We have a huge cast of voice actors! The only stand out ones for me the always popular Kanade Ito (Sena from Haganai), Hiroshi Kamiya (Araragi from Monogatai series), Chiwa Saito (Senjogahara from Monogatari series), Rie Kugimiya (Shana from Shakugan no Shana III Final) and Yui Horie (Chie from Persona 4).

Zetman is a series that’s both intense and unforgiving, and although it starts as a simple story of misfortune, it slowly develops into something much grander and dark as the two male leads take on their own versions of justice to fight against “Players”, the villainous baddies of the story. OC and Fosh are pretty dead-on with the American comic book comparison, three volumes in and it feels like a mixture of classic superhero themes and sci-fi/horror. There are 15 volumes released already and from what I’ve read the action rarely lets up, the plot is constantly moving along at a fast pace (there were literally three time skips within only a couple volumes) and I’m sure even though there are only 13 episodes that you’ll get to see a lot of bloody fighting no matter where they decide to adapt it to. |

Story wise, we have two almost opposite protagonists around whom this action-packed series revolves. One being a homeless boy who’s another face is a superhuman life form “ZET”, while ALPHAS, a privileged heir to an industrial magnate named Mitsugai Amagi, is his nemesis (from the trailer, he looks like a reincarnation of Sky High). Incidentally, Amagi Corporation is responsible for the creation of monstrous abominations known as Players, against whom both of them fight to save mankind. I still remember the time when the cast was announced and I was more than surprised at Mamo’s choice because he’s pretty choosy about his roles per season so doing another version of X-men/Batman just didn’t sit well with me. But hey, remember what we thought about Tiger and Bunny when the first episode aired? Though for a trial, this doesn’t have a bad start with a very talented voice cast helming the various roles. Also, don’t forget the power of bromance. It’s everywhere this season!

Kingdom is based on a manga helmed by Yasuhisa Hara that began serialization in 2006 in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump. A beat’em all videogame adaptation, entitled Kingdom: Ikkitousen no Tsurugi, followed its successs in November 25, 2010 on PSP by Konami. Now, it’s time for a TV anime adaptation by Pierrot, and the story will follow Li Xin and Hyō, two boys without families in the Warring States Period (475-221 BCE) when China had been embroiled in war for five centuries. Despite living like slaves, the boys strive to realize their dream of becoming warlords. Oh lord, is the action section filled with bromance this season…? |

Oh look, this in the Warring States Period of ancient China? Dynasty Warriors anyone? I have my fingers crossed for blood and gore, but they will probably point weapons at each other and use fancy words to do battle without swinging their weapons. Yeah I have to agree with anaaga on the artwork side of things, I am not too familiar with any other work by Jun Kamiya either. Voice work looks great! I recognize a few of the heavy hitters like Jun Fukuyama (Takanashi from Working!!), Rie Kugimiya (Shana-chan from Sukugan no Shana III Final) and Yoko Hisaka (Mio from K-on!), Masakazu Morita (Bunny from Tiger and Bunny), Rikiya Koyama (Kiritsugu Emiya from Fate/Zero). Damn that really is an impressive cast of actors.

Some otome game turned anime fabulousness right here. …Well, maybe not so fabulous because this is Studio DEEN, but you know what I mean. Anyways, just in case you missed Metanorn’s first impressions of this before, the basic plot is that a looong time ago, the first god turned himself into a sword, the Onikirimaru, just because and then all of the gods started killing each other over it. However, that wasn’t really productive, so they forced all of their problems on a girl called the Tamayorihime and now her generations have to seal away the sword. The heroine, Tamaki goes to live in the countryside with her grandmother and she finds out that she has the blood of the Tamayorihime, so she now has this great sword to look after. …She also gets 6 good looking guys by contract as a bonus to protect her. Or at least that’s the plot for the game (I know not all of that was explained in the first episode).
So if you couldn’t deduce from the plot summary, or that fact that this came from an otome game, this is indeed a reverse harem. W-wait! Don’t get turned off yet! I say this is a harem, but honestly, the game was mostly a bunch of fights with the antagonists. I’m not even kidding. While it was boring as hell in the game since it was just sprites, sound effects and lots of reading, I’m expecting more here since the characters will actually be moving. Tamaki will be sitting at the sidelines for most of the beginning, but that just means that the guys will be getting the screentime. So yeah, it’s DEEN, but judging from the preair, they actually put some effort into the backgrounds and the fighting scenes. As for the director, he’s the guy who did… Hetalia of all things. Lolwut? I have no idea what this means for Hiiro, but this should prove to be interesting. |

Voice cast looks amazing but DEEN adapting another game…?! I still have some scars left from that CG dragon in Fate/stay night even when it was termed legit by Nasu for a later expansion game but still… DEEN. I’ll be expecting a lot of derpiness but hopefully, the voice cast and some execution will keep us busy for two-cours? Let’s hope so.

Remember when I reviewed Sengoku Otome? No you don’t but that doesn’t matter now. Brain’s Base animating this is pretty interesting. I wish there was a whole lot more to say, but I know nothing of this Social Networking game. Animes that are based on pachinko machines, stickers or whatever always have an intentionally thin plot, and it’s also yet another sengoku-era show. Keiji Gotoh is directing this series, and the last time I mentioned his name, I was somewhat critical of his Penguindrum episodes (10 & 19) in terms of character designs, so I’m not terribly excited for this version of girls in Sengoku era fighting. Also, @Hawt: God, Samurai Girls was a good show. WTF, Hawthorne and every other Metanorn person? (except Fosh and anaaga) Also, Hyakka isn’t moe. God I’m so fake angry right now. |

YES! I was thinking the same thing as, Jrow! Sengoku Otome anyone? Yes Jrow I remember those amazing episode reviews! Yeah I am really interested in seeing what Brains base does with a Sengoku themed anime…Samurai girls was great! Those uncensored DVD versions? LOLOL Good times…this voice list is freaking massive I can only pick out the obvious choice Kana Hanazawa, Rumi Ookubo and Mami Noto! The rest are brand new to my ears.

After the 30th Queen’s Blade from the previous 2 seasons, Claudette becomes the Queen (champion Leina refused the throne). She starts off a good reign by abolishing heavy taxes and aristocracy, but somewhere along the line, things turn bad and her reign turns into terrorism. Annelotte, the Princess Knight of Rebels, forms a rebel army and declares war against Claudette.
I actually had only seen two episodes of Queen’s Blade before deciding to marathon seasons 1 & 2 just weeks before Rebellion’s debut. Sure, I could’ve just went to sites and checked out the weekly nudy photos, but I’ve watched plenty of ecchi so it would take a whole damn lot for me to want to gouge my eyes. The plot is of little interest past the binds that tie most of the cast and the only interesting part of the action is seeing Leina’s steel armor break off or Echidna’s snake slithering away from her nether region. But this is what should be expected in 99 out of 100 ecchi shows, and the character designs (each girl by a different designer) and the clothes ripping is the series’ draw. Menace was my favorite when I watched the show. It’s sad to see Claudette decline as she apparently is. I really liked her story of wanting the acceptance of Leina & Elina’s father. Judging from the casting list, it seems like most of the girls from the previous seasons will have moved on (the 3 Swamp Witch’s mistresses noticably absent). Speaking of the Swamp Witch, she had blinded Tomoe after the previous series, and considering that she is in fanart with Rebellion’s main character Annelotte, I believe the two are sisters and the Annelotte will also be fighting for her sake. |

Whoa, I see that Hoods doesn’t have a lot under their belt, and Mysterious Girlfriend X would be by far the least perverted thing they’ve ever done. The voice actor for Mikoto is also all new. Not that the manga was amazing, but it had a solid premise, so I’m looking forward to seeing how this unfolds.

It’s not misplacement but the presence of both Romance, Comedy and even school life that makes the RomCom Slice genre. There were just three titles part of Outcasts this time so to save pages, we put those three part of other categories like RomCom, SciFi and Mystery.

I sort of agree with Spinarakk , I would classify Medaka Box as mainly action with comedy. It reminds me of Naruto – action/martial arts (with some comedy) shounen. I haven’t really seen any romance in the 100+ chapters I’ve been through. I would think it fits more under the “Action-packed Circuit” category.

Yes!! Spring is here and body’s completely ready for it!! And there are so many shows to watch!!
Phi Brain Season 2: I’m pumped to for this to get started. I’m so sorry I thought of the first season as a joke and nearly dropped it and now, it’s become one of my favorites. Another thing, I’ve never seen a long running series getting a sequel so quickly. It’s baffling.
Kore wa Zombie desu ka: Of The Dead: The title still has me thinking of a parody of HoTD. Anyway, I’m currently being bombarded with nostalgia waiting for this and so looking forward to seeing Ayumu and the freeloading hot ladies again. But most of all, Yoko Hikasa being behind Seraphim’s voice again and verbally abusing Ayumu with variations of “Piece of Shit”. Seeing the trailer, Ayumu’s costume as a Maso Shoujo is different, more like the one he had when he faced the King of Night. Hahaha, Fosh, we finally get our wish of cross-dressing zombie, necromancer, magical girl and vampire ninja madness. It’s about time. And there’s an OVA?! I need to pace myself or I’ll die happy.
Jormungand: Looks like a decent action show and the animation’s top notch. I’ll give it a shot. The two characters on the poster look like albinos that remind me of Deadman Wonderland’s Shiro. The female looks like a powerfully confident lead and it’s the first time I’ve heard of a child soldier element in an anime. So it’s a 12 episode show because it’s going to take a break and resume in Fall. What’s with this sudden trend? They did it to Fate/Zero and Rinne no Lagrange.
Shining Hearts: It seems interesting and it has a role playing game feeling like the Final Fantasy or Golden Sun games.
Accel World: This might actually turn out to be fun. Remember the surprise success of Kore wa Zombie desu ka? This might pull off the same upset. A little cyber anime might be a change of pace. What has me a little discouraged is the main character but he’s voiced by Yuuki Kaji and the butterfly girl is insanely hot and seems wise so I’ll bear with it.
Eureka Seven AO: Another Eureka Seven? It’s a blast from the past. Thanks to Rinne no Lagrange and seeing a few episodes of the original series, I’m getting a little more into mecha. Bring it on.
Haiyore! Nyaruko-san : Interesting. I might watch it since Eri Kitamura is leading.
Fate/Zero 2: Finally!!! It’s time to see Caster bite the dust!! That wretch has lasted long enough!!! And Kyokai is blogging it again. I look forward to it, Kyo!!!
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia: It has a nice eerie atmosphere around it with the town that is in ruins and probably deserted. I find myself drawn to this show. The girl who is supposedly a ghost seems more like a demon or Kogome from Inuyasha. Plus, maybe it’s just me but she looks like she has a lot of lust for the guy she’s with. Sankarea: Studio DEEN sure is getting into the zombie thing with Kore wa Zombie and this. It’s disturbing hearing the way the girl was brought back as a zombie. Since she’s undead and will probably still try to act human, I wonder if she’ll fight to resist consuming human flesh. Definitely on my list.
Nazo no Kanojo X: Girl carrying scissors around wherever she goes? Is she a distant relative of Senjougahara? This I gotta see. LOL. She’ll drive that guy up a wall.
Medaka Box: Sounds like Maji koi Shinasai but if Nisio is behind the story, it can’t be that bad. I’ll show leniency a give it a shot.

Phi Brain Season 2: First season really sets you up for something amazing and often I find myself laughing more than anything, but season two voice cast!? OH MY GOD That alone has me interested ahahaha and I hope something happens "plot" wise.
Kore wa Zombie desu ka: Of The Dead- You know what? I was thinking the same thing about the HoTD parody! Come on zombies and "of the dead" YES! I AM SO FREAKING READY! Oh how I have missed Kore wa zombie <3 <3 <3 and an OVA to go along with it.
Eureka Seven AO: HELL YES! I can not wait to see that second series just avoid that movie it wasn't very good for the first series...anyway YES to mecha!
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia: I read like ten chapters of the manga and found it to be interesting, but I have no idea what to really expect going into a anime series so I will experience something new.
Sankarea: YES! YES AND YES! This might be the season of the zombie/ghost/supernatural stuff! That is another manga series I have kept up with so I can't wait to see it animated with music and voices.

Yeah, I’m pumped yet anxious. It’s like they just can’t come fast enough.
Phi Brain Season 2: The first season started out as a joke for me then suddenly became awesome because, c’mon, puzzles as a plot that would be holding a show together? I thought the same thing about Yu-Gi-Oh! and Ben-To and look how pleasantly wrong I was about those two. Since important elements like the armlet and the scrolls have been crushed, I can’t begin to imagine how thing are going to start out.
Kore wa Zombie desu ka: Of The Dead: The moment I heard we were getting more zombie fun, I was so out of it I swear I was beginning to foam at the mouth. What killed my patience was that it was announced since July last year and waited until now to start airing. I would have died of anticipation.
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia: This looks like it’ll be an interesting ghost story though I’m not expecting it to surpass Shiki and Another in terms of horror because those two ruled without competition. It’s more like I’m hoping it’ll join its awesome ranks. Not to mention that it seems that the story will take place in an abandoned school. We need more creepy settings because it’s what helps sell the story.
Sankarea: Yes, I think you’re right about this season. First it was vampires, then mechs followed by all out yuri in the past winter season and now it looks like zombies/ghosts/supernatural stuff! are getting their turn. I wan’t to see how this will turn out. Should be a nice way to burn some time.

Damn! I can’t believe I left out Blood-C: The Last Dark. I’m so ashamed!! I deserve a slap to the back of my head. This makes one of the two vampire movies I’m waiting on: this and Kizumonogatari. Two that I must watch. Since we’re done with the slice of life element, there better lots of blood and gore (emphasis on the blood). I saw the latest trailer and I must say the sexy vampire heroine just got so much sexier that I might start to compare her with Underworld’s Selene. Not to mention that the visuals are lovely. I.G Production and CLAMP certainly got a bigger budget to do this one.
Not just Saya but an entire organization wants Fumito dead? Whoa, we knew the guy was underhanded scum but I didn’t think he’d be that bad. Then again, he had an entire town of people wiped out by giant bunnies for his amusement and to cover his trail. I still remember the graphic human blender. Ouch!!! I hope Saya finally gets her revenge.

Wow, Yamato. OK, yes, this is old school, but it is something I have fond childhood memories of. I watched this back in the Spring of 1979. When it was syndicated, localized, dubbed (oh how we made fun of that dub) and called “Star Blazers” . I watched the recent live action film, and was under-impressed, so I actually have high hopes for this series. The PV’s look great, and got my old blood good and fired up.

Jormungand – I LOVE strong female leads. They’re what keeps me from losing hope in the anime industry. Also the music – I love Taku Iwasaki’s work in Katanagatari (and a long time ago, on the Rurouni Kenshin OVA), plus OMG Nagi! Been a big fan of her ever since her collab with supercell. It looks like this is my biggest must-watch anime of the season.
Eureka Seven AO – YESSSS, this. The original series left a void in me, please let this one fill it. In any case, Ao looks like a descendant of Renton and Eureka (or could just be my shipping goggles) so that’s a plus for me. And it’s by BONES, dammit. This is going to be good. There are very few mecha anime that engage me, and Eureka Seven was one of them. I don’t think this is going to disappoint.
Hyouka – This seems interesting. I mean, I’m not much of a mystery fan – most anime labeled “mystery” don’t feel mysterious at all. But I love the art and most of the time you can’t go wrong with novel adaptations. Will try this.
Nazo no Kanojo X – AHAHAHA OMG. They finally decided to make an anime for this – what a pleasant surprise. It’s one of the very few ecchi series that doesn’t have a harem set-up so I actually liked this. Of course I dropped it a few volumes in but it was only because the art was jarring at times… but I can vouch for the story’s awesomeness. (Also, scissors-wielding was Mikoto’s schtick before it was Senjougahara’s. Heh.)
Kimi to Boku. 2 – I watched the first season and fell in love. That is all.
Not a bad crop, all in all. In any case, this is about the amount of anime my busy schedule can handle, so I’ll look forward to the aniblogs about the rest. Still disappointed that I still can’t see Durarara!! or Kuragehime Season 2 anywhere but I’ve come to expect that over the years… :/ Might check out the other series depending on how you guys will be blogging about them (and if I have the actual time, ahaha).

I am so excited for this Spring Season! Here are the shows that I’m planning to watch:
1. Eureka7 AO – I really hope that this one will be able to capture the magic of the original which I loved.
2. Hiiro no Kakera – I’m watching this because I’m curious to see what a shojou series is like. But, I don’t have much hope that this will be good.
3. Shining Hearts – Here’s another one I don’t have a lot of hope for. The premise looks completely generic and I’ve never been a fan of amnesia or emotionless girls. That said, I absolutely love fantasy stories, so I’m definitely going to give this one a try.
4. Jormungand – Grim action show with a strong female lead? Count me in! I’ve heard good things about the manga so I’m hoping that the anime will do just as well.
5. Ozuma – only six episodes, but from the first few episodes that have aired I’m already enjoying what it has to offer. Not fond of the leads currently, but the badass female captain is totally awesome.
6. Zetman – Another dark action show? Score! And it doesn’t look like this is going to be taking place in a highschool!

Just saw a pre-air of Natsuiro.
I forgot to mention that I was really looking forward to this, so I had some expectations. First, great pop music by sphere. Second, lovely character design. Third, a plot that didn’t try to hard, but would relax let the story unfold.
The OP is a bit lacking, none of the dynamism I expected based on past work (Hazy from Hanasaku being one of my all time best loved pieces), but the ED more than makes up for that.
Character design is well developed, but we see some doppleganging with the Index series (shared designer). I can comment on the quality of animation as this is a pre-air (boy, I got a bunch of fuzz).
We have a slice of life story. It doesn’t have to be ambitious. But it has to have it’s own unique hook. In Tamayura, we had the beginning of new friendships in a new place. Here, we are in a transition story. It looks like things are going to end before they begin. Then a wish comes true. Nice hook.

Natsumi (Kotobuki Minako) is made of some of the dignity Tsumugi from K-ON, but with a bit more fire.
Saki (Takagaki Ayahi) has some elements of Mitsuba (Eldest from Mitsudomoe) with a big old dash of Chris from Symphogear. Will we see some tsundere histrionics? Oh, I think we will.
Yuka (Tomatsu Haruka) has almost none of her Princess Serenity, some of the goofiness in her Anaru (Ano Hana), but mostly the enthusiasm of Nagi from Kannagi.
Rinko. It’s Yui from K-ON, not being Yui at all. She plays it quiet, but with a dash of her head in another world.
Oh, and I must correct something from above “I can’t comment on the animation yet, as this is pre-air”. Just cut, copy and paste that…

Good to know! I’ve really been looking forward to this and I’m glad to hear there’s great music too, that’s one of the aspects of the show I’m most looking forward to in the OP/ED, as well as a relaxing pace. From what you described the characters sound incredibly interesting. o.o
I’m tempted to watch the pre-air … but I feel like it’s probably better to wait for the better quality release. I’m torn! XD

Seeing that enjoyed the pre-air so much, with it’s very fuzzy quality, I would assume that the quality release would be much more enjoyable. I need the OP to grow on me a bit more.

Are you kidding? I live in SoCal as well, and it’s never balanced. Spring is the silliest season- summer is hot, winter is cold-ish, fall and spring are just random junk weather thrown together.
As for the anime, Jormungand doesn’t sound bad- the “strong female lead” is definitely pulling me in. I’m ready for a girl who can stand for herself. Not to mention the plot sounds pretty cool. The weapons aren’t really drawing me in, but if the plot is good enough I’ll ignore them.
Tsuritama sounds funny, but if there isn’t something promising in my eyes, I’ll probably drop it.
Hyouka sounds great! I don’t even know why! It’s sooo pretty, even in the trailer!
Shiro Kuma Café… I shall watch it, even if it is a little weird. Here I come, Penguin-san!!!! And look, Lelouch is the panda. It’s perfect.
Thermae Romae: well, looks like the mini-architect in me is ready for something like this! Can’t wait to see what this has in store….
And I guess that’s it for me. I get the feeling I’ll really end up only watching all of Hyouka and Shiro Kuma Café, since the other two are kind of only half-appealing to me, but oh well~ Lots of crazy things happen for me right around this time, so it’s probably best if I limit myself.

~Really? Maybe it depends on the city/town? Where I live it’s mostly 70 degrees with clear/semi-clouded skies in Spring with occasional rain fall. Fall is our silliest season as it randomly goes from ridiculously cold to ridiculously warm (I’m pretty sure we can agree summer is just always excruciatingly hot lol).
It seems the “strong female lead” thing is pulling everyone in for Jormungand, and Lelouch as the panda is just…just so WONDERFUL~.

Yeah, perhaps it does depend on the city/town. I probably live in the most mild region, except for that one time when we had hail, thunder, and sun all in 20 minutes. I just know that spring means random weather, every day, from rain to sun, within the week. It might just be this spring though. But my general memories are basically: “Can I wear jeans? Yes, but then I’ll get hot… No, I’ll be too cold. Dang it, what am I supposed to do….???” Fall is shorts and jeans later; winter is jeans; summer is shorts and sweat lol.
