THE BIG FIVE MILLION
We flaunt the organized chaos and take fangirling seriously. Heck yeah for another milestone achieved!

Another big milestone for Metanorn and it feels like yesterday that I announced the 4Million hits with a new team. In real time though, yesterday I was chatting away with Will after finishing some long-assed office work that was needed urgently because of year closing and blah de blah. I had other things to do though, like refreshing a certain stats page after every few minutes just to see those 999999s line up one after the other. And yes, you’ve guessed it right; Metanorn just went over the FIVE MILLION count! I’m guilty of being all misty eyed when I saw the screens Will took in my absence as I was too tired to stay up after 1am.
Of course, this sweet time didn’t happen in one day but slowly and gradually. The first million hit on Oct 31, 2009, while the second was lost during the hiatuses and trinity forming. The third million welcomed Metanorn’s first big hiring on Aug 8, 2010. Things slowed down after domain and hosting migration yet we went over 4 million on Dec 2, 2010. And we are standing on another milestone just after half a year with a growing team of new and experienced writers. We have reached quite far and it couldn’t have happened without our lovely readers/lurkers. Thank you!
Since I took the reigns in early 2010, my only goal has been presenting the fandom love just as the readers want it. The reason our Meta Projects go beyond the episodic blogging or news and views. To even think about a dating sim game (Met’Amour), Fortnightly Podcast (MetaVerse) and Web comic (Left to Right) was simply done for entertainment. I’ve heard people say there are too many cooks but I’d rather say, Metanorn is organized chaos at its best; just see the main image and you’ll catch my drift.
I’m glad to inform that the interactivity between the readers and writers along with regular content update is driving the site and I can’t thank enough our visitors in keeping up with the comment love as the best reward for any writer is feedback. This is also the time to thank my team who has worked quite hard in making all the plans a reality. Coming up with ideas is easy, flawless execution is what makes it all worth it. There are times that I’ve set challenging goals for the team, but every time they fulfill it so there’s a reason I’m a believer of team work through and through. Some special love for my team mates:
Overcooled, Hato and Hoshi: The first crop of team members who joined in August last year. Quite an eventful occasion and this trio has stuck around Metanorn through thick and thin. They are known as senpais for a reason and voluntarily run different projects under them; be it episodics, season reviews, podcast or special recommendations, they have got it covered. Much love, first-three!
Will: The Tech Guru, who is Metanorn’s proclaimed webmaster. I will say it again, the migration from KK would not have flowed like it did without him helping me out. He has tirelessly worked on my wishlist for design elements and coded the awesome Met’Amour. This is not the end though; we are brewing a lot more exciting stuff! Look forward to it.
Fosh, Ness and Hime: The second marvelous trio who have set their own examples. Do you see Fosh missing any episodic? Don’t you see those awesome banners and certain special post graphics? Do you see any flaw getting missed by the sharp criticism of Hime? No, Yes, No, right? Yeah, they are awesome.
Jrow, Karakuri, Junko Anaaga and Zabobinator: Aha, the new blood and what a brilliant quintet it is. The Podcast Editor, the Artists, the Yaoi Warrior and witty anibloggers to boot. You can already see how promising they are with their posts showcase. So, how can you not like ‘em? <3
I can go on with the spiel about my amazing team and you can tell that I’m quite proud of them but of course they have to add in their two cents too and share their love with the readers, so over to my lovelies:
| Ohoo, what do we have here? Five million marks already? Oh WOW, that word “million” being in the same sentence with “five” and “mark” is just…wow… I can imagine tenchou crying tears of joy inside xD I can never describe this feeling I have when I heard about this. Happy, joyful and thankful, but it’s a little bit mixed with awe because I know I only take a very little part of this five million mark. Since I’m new and all that, so of course the ones who made this mark happen the most is Hime, Ness, Foss, Hoshi, OC, Hato, and of course, Kyokai the Tenchou! I feel so lazy for partaking very little when it comes to Menanorn. I’m so bad (>.<) But of course, this “sets my heart on fire” (or something like that, watch Sengoku Basara’s Yukimura)! I love Meta too, so I want to a part of it as much as possible! Without Meta, I won’t know what is a “bad writing” (which happens to be what I do T_T) or “good writing.” Meta helps me to shape my grammar and English, little by little. I love how writing about anime helps me in my grammar too :3 Anyway, Meta is my second home now, and I know I’ll stick around here for a while. I will trouble you for a while, Tenchou, fufufu~ Once more, congrats Meta with your five million clicks <3 |  |
| Whoa! We have already reached five million hits?! This is amazing! I never would have thought I would ever see a blog get that many hits or be a part of it. Anyway ever since I joined this fun team I have reviewed and finished off three series so far, I have also got the chance to do some drawings for birthdays for other fans of Metanorn. Hell we got to make our own dating game! And we even started a podcast which I never thought I would ever do. And we have a comic?! That is really cool too can’t wait to see the rest of it. So I am really thankful to be a part of this team it’s nice to share in the anime fandom! Let’s hit ten million hits one day! |  |
| I swear Metanorn hits some sort of important milestone every month. There’s always some sort of amazing event going on here, whether it’s celebrating how many years we’ve been around for or the anniversary of Kyokai founding Metanorn from Kanzie and Tsui. It’s kind of amazing really. I love writing for Metanorn, and it feels good that all of the team’s hard work is getting recognition by you guys – the site visitors! Lurkers and commenters, we love you both, and it brightens my day to see new commenters springing up here and there. Let’s keep this millions of hits thing going strong, shall we? | Wow wow wow~! 5 millllliiiooonnnn hits already for Metanorn. Now that is something! Uhh, congrats to Metanorn! heheh. As well, to my fellow teammates. | Oh Metanorn, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height… Or I would if the site actually had a physical presence. Anyways, 5 million hits~!!! It seems I joined the team just in time to celebrate a bunch of milestones. Even after almost two months here, it’s still hard to believe that I’m actually part of something this big and epic. I can’t even imagine what I would be doing if the site wasn’t here anymore (other than maybe finishing the stack of books on my table, but that’s what summer is for) and it’s not just the written things here that make the site worthwhile, but the people here too. Really, it’s the people (writers and readers!) here that make Metanorn what I love and without them here, this site would just be any other aniblogging site out there. I’m so glad I stopped lurking and actually decided to join in here, these past couple months have been really fun thanks to all of you! |  |
| I think this might be the 3rd time I’ve written for a millionth post, which makes me super pleased. I’m still not at a year in Metanorn but I feel like I’ve been a part of the change. The domain move, the new podcast ( which I love hosting! ) and my new fav, Left to Right. We’re all so involved and contribute around the clock, it’s such a community now. I’m painfully typing this on a crappy cellphone from a funeral ( dedication! ) so this isn’t as witty others, sorry about! And finally, long live Metanorn! |  |
| To hear that Metanorn has made it to 5 million hits is definitely exciting, and right now all I can think about with giddy excitement is how everything will be when the big 1-0 is hit. Sure, it’s pretty far but hey, it doesn’t hurt to imagine that far away. The fact that I’ve been here for those 3, 4, 5 million certainly astounds me. I’ve been up against a lot of challenges and ill forces in the past months (some majorly serious, and another called excessive procrastination) but I will continue to try my best and pitch in my part to keep the amazing Metanorn rolling to 6 million hits, 10 million hits, and beyond~. |  |
| Oh my oh my has it been a busy last two months! Ever since the 3 year celebration post it seems like it’s all go go go! Between pulling together Left to Right and staying up into the unholy hour of 4 in the morning for the newbie podcast (and a lot of other unmentionables *winkwink*) I think I need some sleep! Oh well, it’s nothing but fun everyday, and I hope everyone who comes to Meta enjoys their time and will continue to in the year to come! | WOOH! We’ve reached 5 million hits!!! You know? I’m not very surprised. I remember when I first found Metanorn a little over a year ago it was super awesome. Needless to say, that status quo hasn’t changed much. If anything, it’s gotten better. xD There have been so many cool projects such as Metamour and Metaverse and, I assure you, it only gets cooler from here. I’ve been with Metanorn for about two months by now and I have had SUCH a fun time. Being able to write about the shows that I love and talk to everybody (that means you, my dear commenters!) has been so great! My posts are starting to get really long too. xD The Metateam is of course crazy awesome as well. Like, seriously, I know I say this a lot, but everybody is SO COOL. I’m so glad to be a part of this. It’s been hilarious and fun and just amazing. Hell, I even got married! xD I’m still getting used to aniblogging, but thus far, I’m just super excited about everything. Congratulations to Metanorn for the big 5M and to Kyokai and the rest of the Metateam for making this all possible. I freaking love you guys. 🙂 |  |
| HOMG, 5 million hits? That’s friggin incredible. My hairs gone all windswept like I’ve just been on a rollarcoster, my mind is that blown. But really my heads been doing that since I joined Metanorn back in 2010. Man, were those first couple of posts a struggle. I thought I’d become the anti-technology I had so many little screw ups. Maybe I wasn’t cut out for this? I thought. It was very time consuming and I’m a lazy sod, lol. But getting into the swing of things, and writing about the good, the bad and the ugly of anime proved to be it’s own reward in the end. My experience with Metanorn has been very much like a rollercoaster, all the ups and downs and laughs that come from being part of a great team who’ve all helped. Metanorn reach one of it’s most impressive milestones! |  |
| So we reached 5M hits! YAY! Awesome milestone! That made me wonder, from 2008 to October 2010 (~3 years) we received 3M hits and from there to today (8 months), we received an additional 2M hits. Confirms my theory, Metanorn is exponentially more awesome as time passes xD According to my calculation and if the trend continues like so, we should reach 10M hits in 2 years only!!! |  |
| So, there you have it! Team has spoken, while Will has predicted that two years milestone. Can we reach it? Time can only tell but expect more awesomeness from Metanorn because we have our Ideas Bank churning and who knows what we unveil next. Like every other time, you will be surprised? Count on it! Also, if you have been listening to our podcast, you must know that most of the writers have told their story of how they found Metanorn. I would like to ask you the same question, how did you find Metanorn and what made you stay/comment/lurk? I would much appreciate response from our lurkers and regulars. Oh! I love you guys so much. It’s so impressive what you guys have built. You guys have truly added to my anime experience with your opinions and insight. You guys completely deserve your one million views. In fact, it’s thanks to you guys that I’ve decided to start my own blog. I’m gonna try to gain experience in blogging and try to build a team of my own. I just built a really simple website today! No posts yet thought since I made it really late at night and I’m too tired to write a complete episodic or a recommendation right now. I do apologize that if you guys check it out that a lot of it seems modeled after your guy’s website. I just love it so much. Maybe once I’m on down the road the design will change to one of my own. A MASSIVE congrats for the achievement, this is such a mindboggling feat. It’s so rare to see a blog reach such astronomical heights and the best thing is, it’s only going up and up from this point.
It’s been such a huge pleasure meeting all of you guys and it’s definitely a life highlight to have witness this rise.
