This episode was recorded on 1st July, 2011 with the MetaCast of Kyokai, anaaga, Hoshi, Ness & Overcooled. This is the first of it’s kind all-girls podcast on one of the most talked-about topics in animanga land: Yaoi/Boy’s Love/Shounen Ai… call it whatever you please. Metanorn has always been quite open to this genre not because girls ended up running it but simple fangirliness that is induced even more whenever BL is talked about. To a lot of people, it’s still a mystery and we have taken upon ourselves to unravel at least some parts of it. This was also one of the first podcasts that Jrow and I co-edited. Overcooled, I can totally relate about the whole one pairing intruding on your favorite pairing. I get so mad when the seme from my OTP gets paired up with his friend and becomes the uke. It totally made me hate his friend. haha!

There are so many things that a fangirl goes through while following yaoi/BL pairing or simple stories on how it all started.

So I had to listen in because I was mentioned. I’ll admit I didn’t listen to the whole thing, but it was pretty cute to see everyone fangirl. 😉 I got a little lost with all the titles–I haven’t heard of most of them. xD But this was definitely a perfect topic for Metanorn.
I’d be hard-pressed to watch a purely yaoi anime, but the best relationships in anime are usually same-sex. Usually the romantic implications there are just implied, but I’ve shipped a few guy x guy pairs.
Btw, I’ve been working two jobs plus school. School just ended, but I’ll be working still. But I’ll be blogging, too. 😀

You know, actually, I heard that most ppl like yaoi because of the connection between the two men involved. Shoujou anime and manga or whatever tend to be too cheezy, while yaoi is a lot more deep and closer to reality from that point of view.
“I want to become your bird”-my all time fav yaoi manga.Good recommendation. Everyone should read it.
