Nichijou – 06
Wrestling and cooking disasters!
Fosh: Another episode of Nichijou and that means anything and everything can happen! So far I love this series, sad to hear a few people dislike it but ah well, we all love different things. I recently drew some fan art to go with this post too! Hope you enjoy it.
Ness: Hello all! Wow, I have been slightly looking forward to watching this episode but so many things keep coming up. Finally! I have gotten the chance and here we are xD So exciting and yay for Fosh’s cute fan art~!
Fosh: Stories this week follow more school games with Aioi and Mio involving a drawing game and a soccer game with money. Also Nano deals with a cockroach, well sort of, while Mai, Aioi and Mio go on a fail camping trip together.

Mio- “Drawing contest… huh? Yuuko are you nuts?”
Mio-“She misspelled TAXI? Someone get Yuuko some help…”
After that random bit of fun! I haven’t played a game like the one Mio and Yuuko were playing, but I assume you draw something with the last two letters of the previous drawing? Sadly don’t play with someone who lacks spelling skills. Yuuko gets put in the hallway afterwards for missing homework where she witnesses the principal wrestle a deer. After all it is in the shows plot.
Deer- “OH SNAP, BRING IT ON HUMAN!”
Yuuko- “Okay, what the hell!? Is this Mortal Kombat?!
Ultimate deer power bomb!
Yuuko- “WHY ME!!” Mio-“GOOOAALLL!!!” Mai-“Ha ha owned.”
Coin games with Mai? You really love playing with fire huh, Yuuko? That was funny though coin to the face. After that bit of class room fun we join Nano as she deals with a cockroach she caught, sadly when she asks for help from Sakamoto and Hakase, it doesn’t work out. Oh Nano, why are you so fun to watch?
Nano-“Well, now what do I do?! I caught it….”
Sakamoto-“Ohh, are you going to eat that?”
Hakase-“Oh, are you going to eat that?” Nano-“…………”
Nano-“You have failed Hakase!” Hakase-“Muhahahaha!”
Hakase has no future in bug killing, well at least not yet anyway! Now we join Mai, Mio and Yuuko on a short camping trip. They actually trust Yuuko cooking the main dish too! Easily the worst mistake ever as she picks up the pot and drops it right on the ground. Mio gets angry and chases her only to knock over all the rice. Damn both girls messed up; well, even Mai messes up too releasing the only fish she caught.
Remind anyone of Sora no Otoshimono?
I would love to see Yuuko’s five second rule for curry…
Mio- “THAT’S IT! YOU ARE GOING TO DIE TODAY, YUUKO!!”
Camping, you have failed.
Mio- “we have no food guess we have to eat Mai….” Yuuko-“I was going to eat the sleeping bag”
Yuuko-“Screw this let’s get drunk!” Mio-“No! This is lighter fluid!”

Yuuko-“Go ahead trust me… It’s homemade!” Mio-“….Am I going to die?”
Hakase-“Wait, when did I install this!? IT’S SO CUTE!”
Sakamoto-“I can’t understand you with that expression!”

End Thoughts:
Fosh: What an incredible episode this week! The previous two episodes where alright, thanks to some random side events happening around everyone. This week is no different I laughed a lot during the whole drawing scene at the start, man Yuuko is so crazy! And yes, I started to use Yuuko instead of Aioi, mostly seeing people calling her that. I guess it is really tough to play a game with someone lacking the required spelling… hahaha, poor Yuuko.
And of course with any comedy anime like this, food plays a big role. I nearly lost it when Yuuko spilled the curry; however, I think everyone saw that coming from a mile away. Still that was quite funny and Mio even screwed up as well, not to mention her reaction; so priceless and epic, reminds me of Street fighter ink shading they did recently. Pro tip, do not let Yuuko cook your food! Or even feed you or bad things will happen.
My overall favorite scene was the deer wrestling! Yes, finally we get to see that happen, I loved Yuuko’s reaction during all of that so fun to watch her flip out over it. I also noticed the change in the music during the wresting and Nano with the cockroach. They really did a great job setting up the mood for the scenes of danger. I also noticed they shot a rocket at Sasahara in the courtyard looking area; I always end up watching those parts carefully just to see if anything happens; hahaha, so good!
Ness: The most EPIC episode by far! And my favorite!! I think that I laughed so loud watching this but good thing it’s not late at night or I’d get yelled at hah. But anyway, the main point is that this episode rocked and if someone says else wise, then PFFT!
The best part of this episode was the Principal vs Deer match. Yuuko is so lucky to witness such an extraordinary event. Not only was the wrestling moves awesome but the deer ramming didn’t die out. That Principal is one tough old man, especially for climbing on the statue but even more for the second round of getting down from the statue. Did anyone notice the Principal’s hand gestures during the ramming after he got down from the statue? Yeah! It was a double rock on! But to our surprise, even though the deer was winning, the Principal had that protective vest. Poor deer did not stand a chance. LOL @ toupee, most Principals are depicted as wearing one. So I guess this deer was actually the Principal’s run away pet? Yuuko’s reasoning for not telling everyone what she saw was good and even so, who would believe her?
After a few more scenes, I really forgot about the existence of Hakase and Nano in this episode. I actually would not have missed their appearance. The next best part of this episode was the camping! Oh man, you think Mai would have learned her lesson to not let Yuuko cook? But Yuuko is just so awesome when trying to play off her mistake. Barf?! Hah! But even better, Mio’s reaction was epic like she was a Naruto turning all Kyuubi. To top it all off, Mio spilling the rice and both girls end up bowing to Mai. We all know that the quiet ones are the scariest. Anyway, now that I have expressed my enjoyment for this episode. Let’s look forward to next week~
