Don’t diss on the art, and Dr.Fluffyevilpants makes his reappearance~.
~Now this week’s Bakuman seemed to take really long to come out despite what I said last week! I think I’m starting to go crazy with stress…Thank goodness for American holidays to get me out of school for two days x’D Anyways, YAY BAKUMAN TIME! *insert Bakuman enthusiasm now*
Our manga boys are hard at work trying to create a manga for the Tezuka award, the award they boldly told Mr. Hattori they’d try to win. Yet every story idea Takagi brings out isn’t good enough…
Saikou is too picky probably…(I’m Shuujin biased, sorry x’D)
One night of writing however and the next day Saikou finds the perfect storyline, called “One in a Hundred Million”. They quickly discuss and decide on using that story.
YEAHHHH THAT’S MY MAN! Kicking your awful stories to the curb since 2008.
Now since I’m a lazy ass I won’t be explaining this story either, so here are some pretty screencaps of One in a Hundred brought to you by Saikou~. Personally, I think this story was waaayy more interesting than the first, and it has cooler art, heh.
The boys go straight to work, leading us in a musical montage of their working time between school and the apartment, finishing just in time for the Tezuka award deadline.
The next day they give it to Mr. Hattori, who is impressed with how much better they’ve done on this new manga of theirs. Since results for the award won’t be out to November, Hattori suggests that they work to get into Shonen Jack NEXT edition, which is a gateway for pros. Shuujin starts to work on more story lines, but again, none are as good as their past one.

Another day of school, and the boys are discussing ideas back at the apartment when they get a phone call for Mr. Hattori. He tells them that their manga has made it into the Top 8! (And with that excitement, it’s no surprise the boys get a little too cocky (and too imaginative) and decide to take a break until the final judgment is made.
Told you Bakuman Injections work…
After another music montage (because apparently life goes faster with music), the day Mr. Hattori is supposed to call about the results arrives and the boys are so nervous they can’t even sit still and read manga!
The call finally arrives, but unfortunately…our boys were cut from the final positions, only getting their names listed when the announcement is made. The two are pretty disheartened, especially Saikou, but continue to keep trying and at least make into NEXT. One day school however, Saikou is confronted by Ishizawa (a.k.a Ugly Douche face; excuse my language), the wannabe manga artist. He points out Saikou’s art from their listing in the award announcement and starts criticizing it, saying it doesn’t look like manga and that he’s holding Shuujin back.
Shuujin starts getting mad and suddenly…
…punches Ugly–opps, Ishizawa RIGHT IN THE FACE!
THAT’S WHAT YOU GET SUCKA!
As the episode closes, Shuujin keeps beating on Ishizawa, telling him to apologize as Kaya and Saikou try to hold him.

End thoughts: I’m not even kidding; I waited one week and this whole episode just to see Shuujin punch that sucka’ in the FREAKIN FACE! I hate that guy! Gosh, he looks ugly…and he sucks at drawing! I have lingering hate for people like that since I’ve had people like him tell me things about my art style once |’D (Hoshi was not pleased; I just doodle folks!). Anyways, this was a very music-montage filled episode; I guess to waste time again? Lately Bakuman has been doing this a lot, always making me wait for the good stuff until the end…Now because of this, I’m fairly pleased with this episode; no extreme rants from me.
I was re-reading the second volume of the Bakuman manga that I bought, and I’m loving how the anime puts some of their exact positions from the manga into some of the episodes. It cracks me up all the time x’D I’ve also noticed that the anime shows Azuki a lot more than the manga does. In the anime, you see her tiny moments when she’s talking to Kaya alone and such, but the manga (at least from this second volume I’ve read) hardly recognizes her at all; only when it comes to important conversations and moments between her and Saikou do you really see her. It’s not like I am complaining though, heh.
I’d like to know, is it too late for me to be complaining about the opening song to Bakuman? I know I did on the first post, but I’m really, sincerely irritated with it now |’D SOMEONE CHANGE IT PLEASE OR I WILL MAKE MY OWN OPENING; I’m serious. Anyways, sorry for my complaining! Next week’s episode is going to be GOOD; reading the manga totally kicks ass sometimes, hahaha~.

I was a bit sad that they didn’t cut it but then again that have been too good to be true. Eiji makes me edgy… (I know that sounds almost same but…) as I haven’t read the manga I hope he plays the good guy rather than bad, as he’s voiced by the Tohru/Usui/Accelerator seiyuu, Nobohiko Okamoto.

Well, I haven’t been able to read the Doukyuusei sequel myself so I’m sorry I can’t help you there ;A; The person who translated lost all her files I believe so =A=;

I enjoyed this episode. That purple-haired girl should be happy that Shuujin’s changed priorities makes the top spot available. Very happy about The Punch. Someone who sticks up for a friend is a GOOD PERSON.
I’ll also echo the sentiment that I hope the OP changes for the second half.
