A bit of real talk, I myself have started to commute to Hellsalem’s Lot now for work. Sadly, no brain subways, but I do get the pleasure of some otherworldly smells at 8 in the morning. And who said art doesn’t reflect life?
Zapp: Putting the He in Hedonism
It isn’t easy being Zapp. Waking up with a lady of the night, binging on fast food, gambling the money you steal from street punks, and repeating this cycle until you die of diabetes/STD/random Draculer attack. Well, it is no wonder he is such a punk. I mean I wouldn’t want to be his friend and my moral compass was lost at sea years ago. But fortunately this episode isn’t solely about fulfilling each and every one of Zapp’s worldly desires. We also get to make fun of him.
Who is the real monster? As if that even matters in this show.
So after chasing a Draculer’s lower half (Sex Joke) through some kinda warp door or what not, we get another wacky cast member. This time it’s Zapp’s Mentor, a mistser Raju Jugei Shizuyoshi. (Quick side note, it is strongly implied that this guy is Indian, and maybe Zapp is Indian too. Can you name the last person in anime who came from that part of the globe? All I can think of is Shaman King.) Anyway, this guy is such a badass he gets around by STICK, sets a pretty neat bonfire by his blood flame, best of all are his awesome Zapp Slams. He’s all like “If you got a sack of snake and bug shit and formed it into the shape of a man, that would still be better than this scum”. If you feel even slightly bad for this sack of bug shit however, please refer to Muscle Rule #6.
Well, we all knew he was a dude. Just a really lame dude.
At least Zapp redeems himself? I mean lets be honest fellas (and fellas does include the lady folk): if all you had to do was seal away an ancient, deadly Draculer to score with your current crush, you totally would. I mean the sex would be terrible if both my arms got cut off by the Behelit from Berserk, but I will take those odds! But good for you Zapp, you saved the day! (Editors note: Sadly, it is against all the Muscle Rules that Zapp can be declared a hero. Even if he kills the top Draculer himself, Samsura cannot call him a hero.)
What is Black and White and Red all Over?
Not gonna lie, that looks like a fun crowd to hang with
So I bet what some of you readers actually care about is what is the deal with Black and White? My take is that there is a Draculer inside of Black, and that Draculer was involved with the Great Collapse that led to Hellsalem’s Lot even existing. I’m not gonna go on about the parallels between these siblings and Leo and Michella just yet, I want to save that talk for when all the cards are on the table. Suffice to say, I really hope that White didn’t approach Leo on the orders of Draculer inside of Black. It is pretty clear to me that he is gonna be the big mastermind character, what with his “I’m not forcing her, she chose to do it” line. Though really, who else but a villain would say that. That is like saying “I won’t eat your baby, but I never said YOU wouldn’t eat your baby!” There are still a couple episodes left, and look like we are all gonna board the east bound Brain Train to Plottown soon.
Also, let me make this official. The V word is permanently out of my lexicon. The singular is Draculer, plural is Draclers, and the species name is Dracus Draculerus. I hope you will all join me in this vital endeavor, but I will be generous and allow the use of the V word in the comments. But if you do, just know you really Suck (HAR).
I’m gonna be honest here folks, I kinda wish this show would pull a Space Dandy. I mean I don’t dislike the plot this story is telling, but I’m having SO MUCH FUN! Draculers are nice and all, but I for one am totally satisfied by all the Jazzy good times the show brings (not to mention all the other genres of music that get played.) Although, the true ideal is make this show as long running as Sazae-San, but keep this level of budget and creative staff going…

“Draculer”, huh? Are you going to join our vampire-lovers group now, Sam? Making a new term for Nosferatu certainly qualifies you. 😀
However, vampires have so many names depending on the series that if I don’t keep the correct name with the correct series, they’ll all get mixed up. So, I’ll probably be keeping to “blood breed”. My favorite vampire term is actually “vampyr” and I use that one in most of my fiction. But Draculer of the Dracus Draculerus is new. 😛
As for the episode itself, it was pretty great like the show itself. So Black IS two different beings in the same body! He basically did some kind of deal to protect his sister like Leo’s sister did for him. He however has some giant blood breed entity in him. Yet, it’s also like a split personality since there are things that the being does that he doesn’t remember, and the vampire can take over whenever he likes.
The two twins also used to be called William and Mary it seems, and their parents were casters that stopped the two worlds from collapsing. However, whatever they were using seems to be fraying.
We meet Zapp’s teacher this week, and the guy is pretty powerful even though no one can understand him. And while Zapp is scum, he’s very good when he actually concentrates.
So, White is perfectly fine physically? And what did the twins mean by being two-in-one? And what deal has she made with the blood breed half of Black?

As long as the Draculer sucks blood via his fingers or draws manga about Draculers who suck blood with their fingers in cool. I feel there has to be a catch with whites health, this isn’t the kind of show were someone is just possessed while wearing a spify coat. I’d say there are 4 puzzle pieces missing before everything makes sense.

“As if” for the former and “You’d do well to” for the latter. 😛 Already, it’s a given my reputation precedes me and the word “Draculer” is just too bizarre for me adopt, so I’m sticking with the basics. Short, sweet and to the point. Even “Methuselah”, “Progenitor/True Ancestor” or “Black Blood” is easier to retain.
Ah, it’s only a matter of time before one of Zapp’s “routines” becomes his undoing. Looking at how he’s pigged out, poor nourishment might beat everything else to the punch.
So one of my early suspicions did come true and Black’s body is being manipulated. The setting incites nothing but curiosity. Black’s body is fundamentally human but I wonder what happens when the Blood Breed takes over and how it affects his anatomy if it ever needs to be fed. It can’t be normal at that time if it’s consuming human blood. Aside from the crimson eyes, a change of skin tone is noticed when the switch occurs.
