The Rolling Girls – 06

Motorcycles are awesome.

Yay! Time for more rolling girls on Metanorn and I think it is safe to say that this arc is officially wrapped up or will we have one more adventure with these new characters?! I hope we move along to something else, but I wouldn’t mind seeing them again.

Well, that was a nice ending to that arc. I liked the relationships that they put out there, with Himiko and her father and between her and the motorcycle captain. The impossible bicycle race was awesome to, and gave me some kill la kill vibes for some reason, but I think that might have been the way it was drawn?

Anyway, I wonder where the girls will head next? And can somebody please tell me what the heck is Chiaya?! Can she somehow morph her body at will? Someone had a theory that it’s possible that she was infected by the pink heart moonstone while in the womb considering her mother is constantly working with them. Also doesn’t she have like a GIANT heart stone somewhere in her house, on top of all the little ones? I think they showed her standing next to it in one of the episodes? All that power in one house? I’m wouldn’t be surprised if everyone in that household had superpowers.

My best guess for Chiaya and her mother? I’m not saying it’s aliens…but it’s aliens… 🙂

Well, if we do go with that, and the stones are scattered around, perhaps she and her mother have different ideas about them. Chiaya wants them to go where needed and her mother wants to horde them. That’s my guess. I do go on and on about how the stones like to change hands, like adorable little One Rings….

      • Irenesharda says:

Well, honestly I wouldn’t rule out aliens considering all the weird things that Chiaya can do and all the stuff she somehow knows despite meeting people for the first time.

However, while I know her mother knows about the stones, I’m not so sure Chiaya does. She asked her mother why the stones were so important and why her mother cared about them more than she cared about her. Chiaya seems to be kept out of the loop by her mother, but she she still has the side effects or whatever it is, resulting from her mother’s work. It’s just so weird. 😛

I had gathered that it was never more important than just that. Kids do get like that…

So this makes Chiaya a bit of a mischievous sort…I knew I liked her for quite a few reasons…

    A couple of minor items!

The buzzard picking at the bikers after a rumble! vI thought of Road Kill

The White Takumi were back and built / launched the rockets!

Another stone fell and Chiya saw it!

If you watch the ending all the upcoming people are there!

And this going to be dubbed!

Major point I went and rewatched all the shows and Yukari brings up the poor coommunications / thus the use of letters and landline phones . I am very curious!

I agree that motorcycles are awesome. Unfortunately whenever you get on one, you feel like you turned into a MotoGP racer. Dangerous temptation those things are, yes.

    • skylion says:

Well, the last, and only time, I got on a motorcycle, it fell over. Luckily I can move quickly in times of emergency, or else the temptation of which you speak would have been injury and embarrassment…

    • BlackBriar says:

The way I see it, speed is a psychological drug no matter what vehicle you use.

      • akagami says:

True. Only on a motorcycle, you can get to dangerous speeds much faster than in a car, and first gear can take you easily to well above city speed limits in a matter of seconds.

        • BlackBriar says:

Mainly because a motorcycle is smaller and lighter than a car. I’m no authority on the subject but I assume the difference is also in the engine’s power.

It was a closing to a nice adrenaline fueled arc. Tomoki and Himeko make such a nice pair. I can see a lot of things going well for them together.

Himeko’s father was giving an epic apology and motivational speech. Too bad for him that she wasn’t there. 😀

For the asshole forced the race, who loads their bike with missles?! A bit early for this but I call Dandy for best role model.

You know what, I don’t really care about what’s happening on screen. The characters are just too bland and undeveloped for me to feel anything. I’m simply watching this anime because it has nice visuals.
