Illya’s day was filled with friendship and LOLLipops

First, off, I hope all of us Cancer’s are having a good day. We know that Illya didn’t. Miyu is fine. My day was alright. All three of us are Cancers. But, maybe Illya should have paid that cheap TV horoscope some more mind, cause as I said, she had less than a perfect day. She’s had a good run in luck so far. Her powers give her a bit of an edge, narrowly avoiding whatever outlandish pitfall came her way. But it left a young lady beat. Not hacking up organs sick, much to her nurse’s chagrin, but tired nonetheless. As if that wasn’t enough, Illya Kuro now picks the time to strike big and with deadly earnest; and where those earlier outlandish things all by her orchestration? Kuro cannot take our heroine out at range, so with little choice decides to go in hand to hand. Luckily Miyu is swift on her feet, and is able to spoil the combat. Swift on her feet this time. So back at Luvia-sama’s manse they try to put the best plan together. At the moment, they aren’t exactly sure why Illya’s powers are at low order, but are sure that Kuro’s appearance has something to do with it. If you’ve read the manga, you already know. But if you haven’t, I don’t think it’s hard to put the little bit of evidence together and come up with a workable scenario. It won’t be Big Picture stuff, but you can see something in the foreground. Since Kuro is dead set on killing Ilya, the gang decides it’s best to stop that, and get a second bird by capture and question.

And of course that leads to the most harebrained and obviously baited trap in the history of harebrained ideas. At least that is what it appears to be at the outset. I have to give the production team credit for the 3rd act of this episode. Really tight, sweet animation to look at, and one heck of a neat plan to ensnare our errant Kuro. Credit goes out to them for using an previous plot device as part of the ultimate sticking point. They girls can learn from past mistakes and capitalize on new knowledge. My only issues is that the bog felt like a bit of an arsepull. So it’s anti-magic? Did they mention that last episode? At this point I also have to give credit to Chiwa Saito’s performance as Kuro. It had just the right pitch, and it felt like a natural character for her. Silver Link has not upset me in the slightest with this franchise. They are so pitch perfect in just about every department. It makes me feel quite anxious for the big moments to come. Show ▼

Oh, yes. Yes. Wow. Yes. More of the same next time please Silver Link. With some shows just not making good on what they have, and a few fire and forgets, it is quite pleasing to see a studio really mesh well with a franchise and take everything that makes it shine in the original. Yeah, some will complain that some of the racier bits are left out, but despite the Kissu of the Season, television and manga have different distribution standards. You can always read the manga again…your brains should have a better frame rate and higher image resolution anyway. So, what did you folks think?

    They left out NekoArc chasing Illya.

    Technically, since I realised it only now, Kuro and Miyu should have bad luck since they all share a July 20 Birthday.

    Hmm… The length of the transformation sequence depends on the situation. Rin and Luvia deserve long ones while drowning.

      That one Kuro Illya x Miyu kiss was better than all the Sakura Trick kisses between Haruka and Yu. By miles. I wonder what Kuro thought Miyu tasted like. 😉

    Funny thing is, that kiss was one the of lesser yuri scenes of the manga. And Silver Link cranked the dial up to over 9000 on just this one scene.

    Now I can’t wait for the even lweder scenes. Of course it will involve Kuro because she’s that awesome.

        What’s with that reaction? This is the Nasuverse where a power charge is synonymous to boning and has literal dickworms. The latter is particularly absurd because it supposed to be taken seriously.

        Erotic yuri kissing is pretty tame in comparison.

      You do know, I do watch anime on my tablet, on the bus. And so far, I’ve done without any of those “Is he watching porn” eyes. I think I got away with watching this on the bus, I kinda leaned over, pretending to hide the screen from the light….

        Well thank god for that, me and fosh tired to watch anime at a restaurant but it was laggy and we lost interest lol. So i dunno how you could do that on the bus, but im sure on a table it better then on a phone hehe. I need a tablet lol anime and drawing on the go!

    Well this was a crazy fun episode, I was mostly interested in how the two Illya’s would act around each other as well as seeing how they become friends if the OP/ED have anything to do with that.

    That Kiss though haha, woah woah Kuro Illya! take it easy on the first encounter, Though I dunno why she did it, maybe Kuro is Illya Dark desires, I have no clue but… ya.

    I honestly dunno what I was actually expecting out of her personality wise, guess i was too curious for my own good haha. Either way I actually like her, just need to see what the causally Kruo will be like hehe it should be a fun ride that’s for sure.

    Epic action episode. Kuro Illya is OP. If not for that bog, everyone would’ve had it.

    Damn, that yuri kiss between Kuro Illya and Miyu. She even stuck her tongue inside Miyu’s mouth. And potent enough to drain all her strength. That was so hot and lewd that I found myself repeating that scene multiple times. Woohoo!!
