Monster of the week is a term used derogatorily from time to time when discussing anime. While most of us love Jojo to pieces, we can’t just let this pass without addressing that this has been the way for a few eps and looks to be the way for a few more. A LOLi is never random? Yeah, this time I think random covers it; under the fanservice umbrella. I won’t complain.
I love how JoJo, in general, goes to great lengths to hit us with over the top absurdity. This one went to rather small lengths.
But, still some neat stuff.

I was under the belief JoJo’s smoking was censored because he was underage. Japan seems to have issues with depicting minors doing things they shouldn’t be on TV – hence why the beer drinking was cut from the island episodes of Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. On the other hand, there’s no law against non-human apes smoking. Or drinking, for that matter.
