Seikoku no Dragonar – 02

Loli-dragon punch! It certainly is not the vampire punch, but hey it gets the job done!

As you can tell there is not going to be a MetaFAP this season because I don’t think anyone is watching Kenzen Robo or Blade and Soul, but instead I am tagging with Skylion as we talk about the LOLi-dragon show, so I hope you enjoy reading these posts!

Hey, it’s great to be part of the continuing coverage of Seikoku no Dragonar. Thanks to Fosh for letting me in on the Tag Team. We got a fun episode, so let’s get down to the bare facts.

Best team ever!

After Ash finally met his new dragon partner it didn’t take long for her to switch on her tsundere mode after punching him right in the face, but I think everyone saw that coming right? I mean most of us were already calling her Louise 2.0 especially since she is really short and she has long pink hair! Thankfully she is not screaming at the main guy to shut up every five minutes, but I have a feeling those moments are just around the corner! That said part of me just wants her to become a loveable sidekick that doesn’t come off as super annoying and speaking of sidekicks it seems that Silvia has finally decided to be nice to Ash or is this just the start of the harem building? I don’t really know what girl I like besides Eco, Silvia and Rebecca right now, but at least all the girls are fun to watch! So which girl is your favorite so far?

LOLi Dragon Service

Yep, its fanservice make no bones about it. I liked the way they played it out thou, Barbie Doll anatomy is fine, and not even the uncensored broadcast added anything more in that respect; plus you get to see the dragon biting scene….lewd…well, not really. Eco is a fine character, and her introduction is one we find in most harem shows. She doesn’t have first girl status, but she does have the Astral Link connection, and status as Ash’s dragon pal. She is starting to be very clingy and dependent on him, despite her insistence on being the master and him the loyal dog.

I think we can take a few things to mind with this episode. We discover that dragons appearing as humans is a bit unprecedented and that calls for some special attention. Also, dragons are very susceptible to anthar/ansar, and in Eco’s case can lead to interesting situations. We also find that Princess Silvia is actually quite noble; being forthright in apologizing for the terrible insult she gave to Ash last episode. With the special attention in mind, we get our FK YA Mad Scientist, Doctor Angela Cromwell, foremost authority on dragon research. This for some reason translates to kidnapping, Naked for Science, and possible dissection. Good thing Ash has the power of the MC. Saving the girl is what they do. Getting clobbered quite a bit is also what they do. Oh, boy, you got harem lead on you now, son.

End thoughts

Interesting second episode since the main focus was on Ash and Eco forming a strange master and servant bond? Clearly she doesn’t understand how things work between humans and dragons, but that is probably the gimmick of their relationship and what about the fanservice? It was CRAZY even though it was mostly butt shots and mysterious phantom nipples! I guess that is something for the Blurays? So what did I enjoy besides Eco and Ash? Nothing much I just want to see the action and magic stuff finally kick in because I want to know if Eco can transform back into dragon form or is that not a thing for this series? Anyway thanks for reading!

In conclusion, I enjoyed this one. We get a bit more world building, but maybe a little less than I would like. I think my only real complaint is Eco’s VA. Mariya Ise has a long list of diverse performances; she was Ituska “Playma” Shiakban in Zveda last season. Heck, she played Stocking Anarchy! Why did they make her clone Rie Kugimiya? As if the show didn’t have enough Familiar of Zero comparisons. But despite this, I very much look forward to next week. See ya then!

I don’t think anyone is watching Kenzen Robo or Blade and Soul.
So this means nobody will be covering Marvel Disk Wars Avengers then? 😛 TM Revolution’s doing the OP you know…

But on a more serious note, is anyone here covering the Knights of Sidonia?

    • Foshizzel says:

Nope I can’t really get into the whole Marvel Disk Wars and I don’t think anyone is even blogging it or planning on doing so…

We have a FI post coming soon for Sidonia!

      • BlackBriar says:

But are we safe in assuming you’re covering Date A Live II or will it be a Tag Team? Fans need their doses of Tohka and Kurumi!!

    • d-LaN says:

I am following B&S. It interest me enough to pick it up atm.

And I still don’t know how I feel abt MDWA after all this while. i don’t even know do i want to watch it or not.

    • skylion says:

I was almost game for doing the Coffin Princess show. But I felt it too weak to even do an FI. The only thing I enjoyed about it was Chaika trying to bake bread with her mega-gun-magic thingy.

Obviously the spamcatcher is hogging all the lolis… and suceeding.

I’m watching Daimidaler, but man, that show’s pretty bad (it took all of a second episode for him to get tired of groping Kyouko?). And I’m not bothering with Bad and Soul after episode 1. If it turns super awesome, I might go watch it.

And this reminded me why I dropped Zero no Tsukaima after the first series. There are all sorts of relationships Ash and Eco could have had, but we get this one? I am disappoint.

    • Foshizzel says:

LOL Bad and Soul is a perfect name even though I am still watching Daimidaler as well for my mindless shows of the season…

Yeah the Tsukaima is strong in Seikoku!

    • skylion says:

At this point, we might have enough anecdotal evidence to conclude that there in an unwritten, but enforceable, rule that has a clear and awful punishment:

“If you have a LOLi powerhouse/badass, she must be tsundere. Said nature will always have a ration of 5:1 tsun to dere.”

    • akagami says:

I dropped Blade and Soul after episode 2. It was pretty much the same as in the first episode, just face-palming at a different character. I imagine they’ll change characters again for the third and I’ll be face-palming again.

A shame because I liked the character designs (well, except for the MC’s weird hair after she chopped off all of it except for a small section.

  4. BlackBriar says:

Anyone not watching Kenzen Robo won’t get any complaints from me. I dropped that series with extreme prejudice after how horrifyingly bad the first episode was. Didn’t even watch it the whole way through. But I’m still Blade and Soul because the story is becoming interesting with some good fights in tow. Besides, I’d rather a strong, silent female lead than an obnoxious and pointlessly talkative one.

What a bratty dragon girl that Eco is. If I were Ash, I’d have made sure establish dominance before moving forward. I hope it’s explained later why he’s the only one with a humanoid parr.

Hot chick for a homeroom teacher!! What more can you ask for?!

  5. akagami says:

I tried to like this, but it reminds me way too much of ZnT. Not a good thing. Speaking of, I somehow managed to get through three seasons of the show. I ended up disliking the first season overall. Picked up the second season, ended up hating it more to the point I really wanted to drop it. And then the third aired and I also picked that up, and ended up hating it. Don’t ask why I didn’t stop after the first, I don’t have any answer for you.

Non-clothed Eco just looks plain weird. At least add nipples or something. If you want to be more PG friendly, you could have added fog or went something like in Zettai Bouei Leviathan with scales or something similar. In here she just looks like a deformed mini barbie doll. Weird.

I’ll probably end up dropping this unless the show take another direction. A shame since I like magic and school combinations.

    • skylion says:

It is way to Familiar, I agree. I honestly don’t know how/why I lasted in it either. I even watched Final! I mean, being a sucker for a tsundere LOLi can only by so much, right?

If you can’t do something right, then don’t do it. But then it’s already been proven that they can air the censoring and get paid physical medium high price tages.

      Horribly deformed min Barbie doll.

It’s not use…they were dead before the hunt even began…

      • akagami says:

*hands back BB a broken shovel handle and torn net*

        *mumbles* I didn’t see it coming… I didn’t see it coming *mumbles*
