We are back to Alaska, and with some biblical referencing to spice things up, things are moving toward an action-packed final set of episodes with the E-Pandora Rebellion arc. Very little has been touched on about the Nova’s existence to this point, and I think this might be the anime’s first time seriously questioning what purpose, if any, they are fighting the Nova. It’s an interesting point that could be expanded upon into its own religious cult kind of like the Wallists from Attack on Titan. The Nova are a mystery, but mostly because there’s not much unity amongst Chevalier personnel when Bridget has to speed back and defend Amelia Evans from Julia Munberk’s attack.

I think I’m now OK with the handling of Scarlet Oohara’s character specific to the anime. I wasn’t sure if the anime was trying to make me feel sympathetic towards her after many episodes of painting her as a core villain, but then her plan to go against the concept of “Divine Punishment” while finding a way to use Maria to help humankind makes her a villain separate of the group she’s working for, using available resources and the lives of E-Pandoras to achieve a goal that branches off of Chevalier’s path. Gengo Aoi appeared in the cold opening and a flashback, and with him and Howard el Bridget talking, we’ll have people that can make things happen in Alaska. For now, it’s fighting time.

To think that Julia wouldn’t be an issue if Cassie would just let her reach down low… While I am thankful for AT-X airing this on their network without censorship, the amount of steam in these bathhouse scenes has me looking forward to the much cleaner presentation that the Blu-rays can and should present. It sure beats the 960×720 from the first series broadcast, so there’s at least that much. The anime knows it needs to meet an ecchi quota, and without Elizabeth to swim around nude, they doubled up on the bathhouse scenes this week. I’ve taken a little bit of effort in filtering the images, because elsewise the finer details would be a little difficult to make out.

So that was a fairly standard fanservice episode, which is surprising mainly in that it took 8 whole episodes for us to get one. Then again, with how many gratuitous boob, crotch, and ass shots this show routinely displays, a fanservice episode might be redundant. In any case, it was a massive improvement over the past couple business centered episodes, if only for the eye candy. Though I still find myself confused every time All A appears on screen. How can that badass a woman be that feeble and weak-willed? It really should have taken more than “You’ve worn bunny girl outfits before” to convince her to change into a swimsuit to promote a rival shop. It’s probably part of the everyone-wants-Raul harem comedy bit, which has been pretty half assed so far.
There was the post-credits tease of the Amada executive wanting to run Leon out of town (did you really expect a rival business to go bankrupt within days of moving in on their turf? I understand you need to be cut throat to get to that level, but damn talk about unreasonable expectations!) while collaborating with someone who knows Phino. My best guess is that he’s a demon of some sort who wants Phino to come back to reign over the demons in place of her father and needs her to quit Leon to do so. Which I hope means more fighting is in store for the final third of the show.
Nice to see ladies with some muscle on their legs! Also, that bikini bottom design is excellent.

Bertille is a screenshot machine
You know, WalRoma has become a pretty nice show to watch, especially considering the great big handicap that it has, that boat anchor named Takahiro. This week, we get a training camp at Bertille’s Japanese-ish-style summer house (special guest appearance by a Singaporean Merlion) in advance of the Winford Jousting Tournament, and with it we get some pretty good character development, especially from Noelle. We also get typical training camp hijinks: pillow fights, onsen, group dinner, pillow talk, uncomfortable discussion of someone who might be someone they all know, but it takes Mio to actually say the name “Takahiro”.

Noelle and Takahiro share some of their history, with both having guilt about something. Noelle feels guilty that Mireille fell and can’t walk, and that her father gave up jousting, and Takahiro feels guilty about failing in a previous tournament and letting others down. Noelle actually uses her past as a reason to beg Takahiro to become her begleiter. And Mio comes right out and asks him about why he won’t pick someone, which turns out to be because he doesn’t want to let anyone down like he let down Celia’s older brother (who looks like a jerk, tbh. Dude got injured, why you pickin’ on him?).

I think I see the way forward for the show, in that Mio doesn’t have to win the tournament, just fight Bertille, while Noelle seems to be the main character favorite for winning the tournament against Celia. They’ll probably start the tournament next episode, but we’ll have to figure out what Takahiro’s going to do: fight in the tournament or become someone’s begleiter.

Bouncy Bouncy and the Hero Guy: Yep, took em this long to get to the service episode. I thought it was in pretty good form, a bit shaky in the animation, but that’s been something you have to get used to in this show.
Like yourself, I’m hopeful that they start doing the one thing they’ve done well on all production levels. A big bloody magical brawl. Should be a good way to get the gears changed.
GIMP? Good open source tool. For Windows? Or do you rock a Linux distro. I’m a bit of an amateur Ubuntu enthusiast.

I’m a Windows user all the way. Only Linux in my life is my Android phone. I used to use a pirated copy of Paint Shop Pro, but it got to be a pain activating a pirated copy each time I needed to install, so I decided to just learn to use GIMP for this. It gets the job done, but I gotta say, the UI is garbage in a lot of ways.

Yuushibu – 08: Well, this is weird. Swimsuits all around but no beach in sight. Not that it matters much since all the girls look hot (No pun intended due to the heat in the episode) and each swimsuit was showing a lot of skin. Too bad Lore wasn’t wearing one.
I’ll take a guess that the guy talking to head of Amada toward the end is the former demon lord’s right hand man.

Freezing Vibration – 08: Plot and PLOT! There’s no better combination when it comes to a show like this. So many hot girls going around nude I honestly can’t decide who is the best but Rana is somewhere near the top.
The biblical referencing is well deserved because those involved in the Mark IV project think they can do what they want so they all need a serious reality check. In a sense, the Novas are basically on equal grounds with the titans in Attack on Titan. I guess they’re a response to humanity’s arrogance. I don’t care how much Scarlet is being humanized, she doesn’t deserve any kind of sympathy.
Time to take the fight to Chevalier. Ironic name for a heartless company since it’s French for “Knight”. The E-Pandora girls injected themselves without a second thought. I hope they don’t end up like Gina. It’s already bad enough each of them had a rough upbringing doing what they could to survive.

Because it was stretched to its limits. A new fabric was being tested and it passed.
That bath scene with the girls washing each others’ back was pleasantly outrageous. I dare say I almost had a nosebleed and knowing there are three seiyuus that have played in hentai animes isn’t halting the situation.
So the tournament is about to begin. I want to see who goes against whom. They’ll probably list the rivals against one another instead of random choices.
It’s pretty much a safe bet Takahiro will go back to being though I wonder if he can balance being both a knight for himself and a squire for whichever girl he chooses. Maybe it can happen on and off if there’s some kind of schedule. Even if it’s Celia’s older brother, the guy looks too stuck up for my tolerance so I can’t see why Takahiro is so bothered.

Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!: It was the best episode yet and the match was awesome yet brutal. Those who wrote the show off after the first three episodes are really going to miss out. Jackal Tojo is a great character who knows how to put on a show for the spectators and doesn’t hold back with her moves. Ladies, do not try these moves at home! If only the girls from WWE were this dedicated. I still sometimes mistake her for Freezing’s Elizabeth Mably, only that she’s ripped in Tsuyoku Naritai. This sports show makes Free! look nothing more than a tame cake walk and it’s girls doing the fighting.
I especially like Jackal because she’s the sporting type deliberately easing some of the pressure so Sakura could have some time to shine, even acknowledging that she’s capable of surpassing her and Misaki after the match was over. In a way, I’d say Jackal used the whole match solely to promote Sakura because she has a lot of potential.
I really feel sorry for Fosh if he isn’t following because he’s missing out since his long awaited character voiced by Hisako Kanemoto is joining in and by the look of the end of the episode and the preview, she’s a newcomer who joined in at the spur of the moment like our idol-turned wrestler after seeing the match.

I’m still watching SekaTsuyo, but there’s not a lot to write about there. It’s definitely a sports show, cause it crawls along. I thought the Jackal – Sakura match was good, probably the best part of the show so far, and the ED was a lot better than the usual one. Some of those moves, tho, they’re just not realistic, cause they’re gonna break someone’s neck.
