Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S – 19

Febli wants to be your friend!

After the drama of Uiharu and Erii last week this time we get to focus on the mysterious Febli! Just who is this girl and what is her purpose in this arc? I hope we find out more this week, but one thing is certain Saten will probably take charge and protect her new friend. Also as a random plug I was recently on the fapcast over on Desu ed Machina and we had a mini talk about Railgun! So stop by and take a listen if you have some time.

Saten loves children

Saten and Febli are a great match.

Beware! Febli is quite the sneaky little girl.

I think you could officially call this a Saten-ish arc since I assume she will be the primary focus whenever Febli appears in this final arc of Railgun S but I know in the end it will always be Misaka taking center stage because after all she is the main character of this series! Still I will take anything that involves Saten doing something important. So what did we learn about the new girl? Honestly nothing major other than the fact that she is not listed under any database for missing children and that those evil scientists “need” her for something or are they just using her to get their hands on Misaka? While that remains a mystery I loved watching the character interactions this week as each character got a chance chat with Febli and become friends with her, but sadly Misaka was having a hard time befriending this new girl which was hilarious to watch! Thankfully she was able to make friends at the end of the episode. So what are your thoughts on Febli’s role so far? Is she going to turn into another Toaru mascot character or possibly something greater? I mean part of me thought she was a clone of Misaki aka mental out but that might be a little bit crazy huh? I mean it COULD work and her ability is quite overpowered if you think about it.

Extra railgun fun

Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg

End thoughts

I only have one way to describe this episode! HNNNGGG! I swear this was one of the best “cute” themed episodes for Railgun, but I know there are probably people out there that were like “this is cute and all, but where is the plot and story!?” That will come soon don’t worry and yes I felt the same because we have what only five episodes left? I just hope things are not rushed at the end of the season with some half assed reasons for Febli existing and why the evil team of scientists want Misaka; however I have a feeling it will come back to clones and the MISAKA network AGAIN! Did anyone else laugh their asses off when Pierce from the Index universe saw Febli? That was great and if you do not know about that character all I can say is he has a thing for little girls just ask Komoe! So what did you like from this episode? Personally I loved all the Saten x Uiharu x Febli moments because I think that they would make a perfect family.

Nice development so far and at least all the other characters are getting some screen time. Misaka really can act childish if things aren’t going her way. Like her not being mentioned by Febli. Eventually Febli warned up to her which is already a flag telling it’s going to be painful from here on.

If I had to guess and with these people are talking about an experiment and there’s no record on Febli’s existence, I’d say she’s close to what Last Order is. If she is a regular human, I wouldn’t put it past the chance she could have been genetically altered because something about her just feels off and there’s no definite way of explaining why. We’ve already seen a fair share of horrendous experiments when Last Order and Kazakiri were being manipulated in Index II and what happened in the last season of Railgun so there’s no telling what these scientific fruit cakes have up their sleeve.

    • Foshizzel says:

Truth! There are lots of times when Misaka turns on her childish mode and I hope nothing bad happens to Febli because it seems like everyone has grown attached to her and that can only end bad T___T

Febli is closer to Last Order minus the fact that Febli is probably younger in terms of personality? She comes off as being like five imo while Last Order acts somewhat older and yeah we have seen all kinds of evil experiments that take place in Academy City.

Didn’t you know that the S in Railgun S stands for Saten now 😉

Date check. Half a day passed in the episode so it’s currently August 26. 5 more episodes and 4 more days(because August 31 is a special day in Index).
Can they finish on time? One can only hope.

I don’t want to talk about the timeline issues though. It’s still hurting my brain. This whole original arc makes a mess on all things canon. Ugh.

    • sonicsenryaku says:

why is that; are you referring to Show ▼

      • belatkuro says:

No, and that’s the next day btw.
        I’m referring to Show ▼

Misaka plays a role in that day so they need to step up already in this story.

        • sonicsenryaku says:

          To be exact Show ▼

the timeline is still reasonably comprehensible

        • sonicsenryaku says:

          To be exact Show ▼

things have been switched around but the timeline is still reasonably comprehensible

          • belatkuro says:

I don’t really care about Angel Fall. Only the people who were able to notice it are affected by it, namely Touma and the others. Everyone else won’t notice it.

My concern is what I mentioned above. 5 more episodes and 4 more days in the story but we still know nothing about what this arc is suppose to be. What we only know so far is that there’s this Nyaruko blond loli, these wannabe bad guys who are anything but subtle in their evil plans and Shinobu. That’s it. That’s why they’d better step up the story already or they’ll run out of time. They just spent 2 days last episode just to send Banri and Haruue away.

And lolno. The timeline is already wrecked beyond repair ever since season 1. The biggest offender would be Kongou. She isn’t suppose to be in the story yet. Her transfer to Tokiwadai should have been around these times, before the end of August. And yet she’s already in here. Plus those chapters actually developed her as a humble person, not this pompous ojou-sama. Every appearance and involvement she does is void.
            Also, Show ▼

And let’s not forget in the first season where they showed Himegami already with the cross from Necessarius but the season ended in August 9, the same day Deep Blood arc ended and when Himegami is suppose to get that cross.

tl;dr Project Railgun team of JC Staff may be excellent in adapting the source material but they’re shit in doing original arcs and timeline issues.

            • sonicsenryaku says:

I agree that the timeline is not following the original light novel or anime (to be exact though, the anime’s timeline did end on august 10th); What im saying is that the anime respects its own timeline and stays fairly consistent with it. Show ▼

Things have been rearranged in the timeline for the sake of introducing certain characters or settings earlier but significant events still happen the way they are suppose to….At least in my opinion…that is not a big deal…things have been out of place since season 1 of index…like Show ▼

…but significant events dont really change and in that sense….JC staff is, at least now, still respecting the timeline…but making their own slight alterations to it for the sake of the anime.

    • Foshizzel says:

Fufufufu yes the S really does stand for Saten <3

Timelines would make my head explode xD

  3. skylion says:

OMG some much HNNNNNNNNNG. I barely made it out alive (Down, BB…it’s just a figure of speech).

So much pure comedy gold, from Misaka trying to get on Febri’s good side, to Piece (she was soooo totally right to leg it out of there, and Frog Warp Experiment….what is that?), and the best being that fake out “running to hug you” moment.

Yeah, something is up with Febri. As soon as they figure out those lollipops, things will get interesting.

As for the timeline, JC Staff doesn’t seem to worry about it too much, I’m not going to. Besides, if we see a repeat of Angel Fall, that just means another instance of President Kuroko.

    • Foshizzel says:

The hnnnggg levels were strong with this episode! Yet another season where a blonde loli becomes the cutest thing ever created xD

LOL that fake hug was brilliant! GO FEBRI <3

Yeah there is something about Febri and the lollipops!

    • Foshizzel says:

I just got this from twitter about Febri’s smile xD

      @Desbreko145
      @CureFosh After seeing her smile, I guess you’d need… *puts on sunglasses * a de-febri-llator.

Breaking news! Toaru Majutsu no Index’s Accelerator Gets His Own Manga

    • skylion says:

So….does this mean Last Order will turn into a skirt flipper?

    • sonicsenryaku says:

we all knew it was coming; it was just a matter time. Looks like Kamachi really intends on making franchise/universe extremely grand. The popularity of this series is going to skyrocket if hasnt already

      • BlackBriar says:

Two 24 episode anime seasons of two of his mangas and a movie… The popularity skyrocketed a long time ago.

        • skylion says:

Which kinda ticks me off. JC Staff should step up to the plate and invest in this franchise. Why I cannot see Academy City anime like the rest of the world watches The Big Three is beyond me…

    • Foshizzel says:

Whoaaaa about time we get a third manga because we already have Index/Railgun stand alone series, but as much as I love the adventures of Accelerator I would LOVE a Saten manga!

      Still wonderful news <3

      • skylion says:

        Yes…have the scanliators on standby.

My hope is that is is more slice of life, seeing more and more antics of Accelerator x Last Order x Misaka Worst would be an extreme joy!

Oh yeeeeeeeaaaaaaah. A Certain Rumor Sniffing Skirt Flipper manga is very very very much in order. With side dishes of yuri hana head band action…Goodness, I feel like Kuroko….

        • Foshizzel says:

Yeah hopefully it gets translated sometime I can’t wait to see what kind of story they go with for Accelerator+Last Order~

True if they even do a Saten only manga I could totally see it being more of a slice of life instead of pew pew action as we see in Index/Railgun…

          • skylion says:

Hey, if she has to defend Uiharu, and she has a baseball bat, we can have Pew Pew Action. I demand baseball bat x pew pew shipping in my Saten manga…

      • HannoX says:

Febli should also be in that manga so she can learn the fine art of skirt flipping.

  5. Gecko says:

Who cares about serious plot when we can see really a really adorable little kid with crazy lollipops?
