Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S – 12

Tiny Misaka is bringing back the cuteness this week.

Spring is officially over for the most part but Railgun S thankfully continues right on into the summer season along with Majestic Prince and Attack on titan! So last week followed some great interaction between Misaka, Touma, Kuroko and new developments with the Tree Diagram, but what can we expect this time? I assume we are following in the footsteps of Index season one episode eleven since episode ten was the focus last time.

Misaka and Touma part two

Misaka 10032-“What do cats taste like?”                 Touma-“….”

Just like the last review this one follows certain events ripped right out of episode eleven of Index! Namely Touma’s strange interaction with MISAKA 10032 and her desire to take care of a black kitten; however if you know the chain of events you will know things are headed for more sadness for certain characters. While the first half followed Touma’s adventures the second half pushes Misaka to investigate the Tree Diagram and her attempt to destroy it, but to her surprise the Tree Diagram has already been blown up because Academy City kept everything hidden from public? I suppose it would have caused some kind of mass panic if everyone knew that their super advanced space computer was blown up by a little nun with magical powers huh? Still with it destroyed it doesn’t really prevent Accelerator from continuing on with his quest to level up. Thankfully the days are counting down till Touma introduces his fist to Accelerator’s face, but until then I am curious to see what happens after all this flashback business wraps up! I just want to move to the good stuff that happens after all this cloning business went down.

I hope Misaka avoids all the sonic the hedgehog fanfiction…

End thoughts

I wish I had more to say about the episode as a whole but this episode was technically a recap of things we already know, but I loved the hilarious back and forth interaction between MISAKA 10032 and Touma because they have a strange sibling like relationship and I died laughing when she named the black cat she found dog? Good job MISAKA 10032! On a side note I thought that this clone developed feelings for Touma because she said she had “chest pains” but I know that was more about Misaka’s comment she made to the clone last week. Besides that stuff I loved watching the bits with tiny Misaka at the start with her mother which made me think wow she was such a cute kid back in the day, but the same can be said of Last Order. Also the return spider-Misaka who shows off her awesome powers once again as she made her way into the main Tree Diagram headquarters, but her expression after discovering that the Tree Diagram was blown up was priceless; however like I said that doesn’t really stop Accelerator from doing whatever it takes to level up.

Quite honestly I can never get enough of the clones, their random emotionless that baffle people always amuse me to no extent.

Dog shall forever be the coolest cat ever and with Touma back in the picture for this season there’s bound to be even more hilarious scenes involving him and the Misakas.

after long hour of combining the method..here the conclusion oral, schoolgirl, PETTANKO and maybe vanilla

    • BlackBriar says:

Aren’t these Doujinshi tags? What the heck?!! 😛

      • skylion says:

vanilla may be exempt, but it could also be inclusive.

    • Foshizzel says:

Tatsuya’s comments are like fortune cookies xD

      • BlackBriar says:

Are these fortunes considered good or bad? 😉

        • Foshizzel says:

          A little of both xD

          • skylion says:

            “That wasn’t chicken”

            or

“There is a killer LOLi behind you”

            These are bad fortunes…

          • BlackBriar says:

            A double-edged fortune… Perfect… Hope it’s more good than bad…

            • skylion says:

“Here is your Summons: The Legendary Cat with Fleas that Won’t Go Away” The Grail War sucks….

    Recap episode is recap.

    +1 Spider Misaka.

    +1 Inu.

That realization that your computer was destroyed by a little Blue Nun….priceless

    • Foshizzel says:

Spider Misaka is the best character ever <3

      Inu!!!

LOLOL Yeah Tree Diagram owned by a loli nun xDD

      • skylion says:

They used to have celebrities, back in the Seventies, endorse Blue Nun here in the States. I saw like Burt Lancaster do a commercial. I wonder if they could use Index to endorse that wine in Japan?

Index next to a wine bottle. Which Blue Nun would you rather have….such misfortune….

“Dog.” “Tokugawa Ieyasu.” “Schrodinger.” Then there was the earlier clone’s interaction with Misaka. The sisters have a dry sense of humor and like to mess with people’s minds.

This is a great story arc, but since we know how it ends I’m looking forward to it ending and seeing what happens next. Hopefully, we’ll get more of Misaka interacting with her friends (some of the best stuff in Railgun) and learn more of what happens with the sisters after the Level 6 experiment is cancelled.

  5. BlackBriar says:

Chibi Misaka!!! The HHHGGGNNN levels are so high they’re almost fatal!

It’s always sad seeing the clones developing as individuals, interacting with other people only to end up getting killed in the long run. The scenes with Touma and the clone Misaka discussing over the cat’s well being was as much a highlight as the original heading off to destroy the Tree Diagram. Touma getting scolded about not concerning himself with the cat. As if he didn’t have enough misfortune as it is.

Poor Misaka. She just can’t catch a break. Risking everything for her mission only to have the glory of destroying her target stolen by one gluttonous snapping turtle of a nun named Index (If there are those here who saw the first Index season). Now I wonder if they’ll show the parts where Awaki managed to get the remnants for the Tree Diagram. Because in Index II she confronted Misaka who tried to take them from her.

Accelerator is on his reign of terror once again. Academy City really has a corrupted order if they can let a beast like him walk around freely. I’m beginning to see Railgun S’s version of Touma kicking his arrogant, overpowered ass.

  6. Highway says:

I couldn’t help but think of Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko along with the MISAKA scenes. In both cases, I think it’s obvious that they have some pretty strong emotional responses, and lack the means to show them in the way that normal people do.

Yeah, I’m really hoping that we don’t need to sit through the whole Touma vs Accelerator fight again, but I’m afraid we’re going to have to. They already made us go through 2/3 of the preamble again.

    • skylion says:

Well, the preamble can be seen as a breather. And I’ve liked the point of view as presented. What gets me is, can they go behind the scenes as the did with the first 10 or so episodes, or is it really gonna be as you say…

      • Highway says:

I don’t know if I’d characterize it as ‘behind the scenes’ or as more of a (using my work background of water resources) ‘separate upstream tributary.’ We’ve been getting the headwaters of the story from Misaka’s side this time, as opposed to Touma’s side from Index. But ultimately, the story flows down to the confluence of Misaka vs Touma, and then Touma vs Accelerator. And I don’t remember Misaka doing much of anything (or even being around) for Touma and Accelerator’s fight (I could be entirely wrong, tho, I had a lot of fight fatigue by that point in the show). So maybe after the bridge fight with Touma and Misaka, she goes home to Kuroko and we’re done with it. But somehow I just don’t see that happening. So then we’ve got to see something with that final fight, and we’ve already done that…

        • skylion says:

Awesome analogy; water will seek it’s own level. Yeah, Mikasa was there, Touma got all kinds of pissed off at her.

I work food service part time, consultancy part time, and copywriting part time; it all behind the scenes. All the stories you never see that contribute to the focused experience. But once you see them, you will wonder? How do they even get food to the table; did they follow the advice, and someone wrote this crap?

    • d-LaN says:

I was waiting for the fight lol. I never get tired of seeing Touma giving ppl the life changing punch XD

    • HannoX says:

I’m afraid we will have to sit through the fight again, although I agree with you about that. The anime team has to assume there are people who haven’t seen the fight in Index I. But maybe they’ll shorten the fight up a bit or we’ll see it more from Misaka’s point of view.
