Kurumi vs Kotori?

About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

Things have gotten intense these last two episodes. For a shounen harem anime, I didn’t expect any graphic violence and gore being included, i.e that bloodbath Kurumi made in the park.

Awesome! Kurumi is effortlessly stealing the show. Everything got better since she arrived. That smile. I love psychotic female characters. With what happened in episode 9, it’s possible she has multiple personalities. I mean, she can’t be all bad. She does care for Shido in a way (even if she’s trying to eat him), she killed those implied rapists in episode 7 along with those thugs who were torturing that innocent cat. In my opinion, they got what they deserved. Kurumi may be an unhinged murderess but I like how she selects her targets.

Kotori was the last person I expected to be a Spirit but it makes sense. Why would an organization want to protect beings who cause disasters around the planet unless there’s someone inside who’s probably of the same species?

    • Foshizzel says:

I know right? The gore seems to be crazy so far, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.

AGREED Kurumi has pumped this series full of yandere and her smile is so damn cute and easily one of the best so far! Also Kotori’s face in episode 10, I saw the preair and DAYUM she has some of the best evil expressions xD

They explain that in the next few episodes about Kotori’s origins.

      • BlackBriar says:

She doned an Accelerator smile when things got serious. Kurumi is unique in her characterization. She’s fierce and near overpowered but she’s equiped with old school guns out of say, Pirates of the Caribbean. Another thing, what she does to survive is similar to what Kore wa Zombie’s Kyoko did in season one, killing and feeding on people to sustain her own life. Without the help of spacequakes, she’s personally killed over 10 000 people.

This is gonna be one of them, lot’s of the wrong people turn out to be right, and lot’s of the right people turn out to be wrong kinda shows ain’t it.

I am happy they finally found the right groove for this show, the psuedo-comedy they drug me around in made me wanna drop it hard. But it’s good to see a show bounce back.

    • BlackBriar says:

What I’m really grateful for is that the series managed to recover after what a huge mess episode 6 turned out to be. That one really ruined the mood.

    • Foshizzel says:

This has been an oddball series with ups and downs for the most part I mean the setup has been ACTION episode followed by a DATE/COMEDY episode and you repeat this for 12 episodes I could see a Date a live s2 depending on how things end.

If I wasn’t blogging this series I probably would have dropped it a long time ago, but thanks to the OP it kept me waiting for the bunny loli and Kurumi <3

      • skylion says:

Always anticipate the loli and the yandere….

      • BlackBriar says:

The yanderes are always worth the wait, Fosh. Trust me on that.

        • Foshizzel says:

          Some Yanderes are alright xD

          • BlackBriar says:

But it’s every man for himself if they ever reach Yuno Gasai’s level of yandere.

            • skylion says:

You’re all dere until they become yan? Take responsibility man!

            • BlackBriar says:

I do! Regular yanderes are alright to a degree but Yuno Gasai is definitely not ordinary. Anything she comes across has an unsual habit of withering and dying.

  3. BlackBriar says:

The date episode was fun to watch because we get to see Shido bumbling around to maintain the dates and couldn’t catch a break in between. Dating three girls at the same time? What a player. I can’t tell whether he has fortune or misfortune on his side.

The best dates go in this order for me:
    1. Kurumi
    2. Tohka
    3. Origami

I don’t know why but Tohka gets so cute when she talks about food and it was fun seeing her act like such a kid going to the aquarium. All she was thinking were ways to cook fish. LOL. For a girl, she has a big appetite.

The highlight was Shido accompanying Kurumi to go lingerie shopping. I knew there were going to have some sexy underwear but seeing Kurumi wearing that black garterbelt underwear knocked me for a loop. Whoo!! It’s getting hot in here!!! Speaking of which, Fosh, I can’t believe you didn’t put a picture of Kurumi in that glorious lingerie!! Shame on you!!

    • skylion says:

      yeah, fosh, the heck man…

With Tooka, I think a huge part of her life force was fueled by Spirit energy, with that all a twist, she has to fuel up the old fashioned way…lot’s of rustic bread, and all the fish she seas.

Of all of them, it looks like he had the most normal date with Origami. I clearly favour her, as she is the most forward.

      • Foshizzel says:

FIXED IT for you and BB! <3

Ahh yeah just like most Shounen heros! They need food to keep their bodies going~

Truth Origami is a fun girl <3

    • Foshizzel says:

Triple dates always end in a giant bloody mess…

For me I would go with
      1.Kurumi
      2.Origami
      3.Tohka

I love watching Tohka in her natural element aka when she is surrounded by tons of food~

Whoops I knew I forgot something! I shall add it asap in the extra extra LOL

  4. Sumairii says:

Time for some silly speculation. All but one of the girls with numbers in their names have now been revealed to be spirits. Does this mean the last one will be a spirit as well? =O

    • Foshizzel says:

I think Mana is a spirit! I just saw epi 10 preair and they said something that she was injured and they were using special tech to help her recover? I dunno seems odd! I know they explained in the same episode how Shidou can recover xD

  5. Highway says:

I think this show’s been pretty excellent. I’m still not a huge Kurumi fan, tho. I don’t particularly like her look, I don’t like her evilness, and I don’t like her motives.

I also want to point out that while I think we were talking about panties over or under garters at some point in the recent past, string ties on the panties make that moot…

    • Foshizzel says:

True Highway I can see why some wouldn’t find Kurumi as a great character because yandere-ish types are not for everyone! As for her motives it reminds me of Accelerator’s motives for power.

      Hahah yeah we were xD

  6. PanzerJäger says:

For all of Kurumi’s faults, I can turn a blind eye after seeing the lingerie choice. This show has been great in nearly all aspects, and Kotori is a spirit, talk about a curve ball to the face. I never actually anticipated it, but hey it’s added more spice to the show. And Mana, she’s spent way too long on the frontline if she is calm about killing. And I have to say, her armor is way cooler than the normal AST armor. Dat mecha suit. And with the addition of Kurumi, the potential harem only grows. Boy, it must be hard to be Shido. Can’t wait for the next episode

    • BlackBriar says:

Kotori turning out to be a Spirit has to be the biggest secret the series kept from the viewers. And she did well to keep suspicion off of her until now. With that evil look in her eyes from the preview, I’d say she’s just as unhinged as Kurumi.

      • skylion says:

Yeah, but they made it all rather obvious with the Ifrit/Kotori being Origami’s long lost enemy. Oh, noes, insert dilemma plot overload!

        • BlackBriar says:

I can already see that being resolved through Shido but it obviously won’t be easy to do.

      • d-LaN says:

Not to me apparently :/ I figure it out after I notice the spirit pupils in Kotori eyes….

sometimes i wish i was blogging this. Kurumi made the show 10x more interesting.
