First Impressions – Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?

Make your bets now! Bunny girls or humans who wins?!

That is one massive title for this series, but judging from the cover artwork and synopsis I think this series reminds me of Kore wa zombie with some C3 style artwork? Since everyone seemed to like my solo recording for Kotoura-san, I decided to give this series the same treatment! I hope you enjoy listening to it.

Welcome to moe Las Vegas

Izayoi-“I have to get all wet for the girls.”               Kurousagi-“You just killed my best friend…”

problem children (2)

You-“Fufufu I want to eat your ears.”               Kurousagi-“Nooo! I am not a chocolate bunny!”

Games, games and more games fill this series or as Kurousagi says they are gift games? Right off the bat I instantly thought hunger games meets anime because we have three different main characters who have been summoned to another world to participate in a series of games. Now we don’t really know much about these random humans other than the fact that each of them possess a special power, but is there something darker that she is keeping from our heroes? I think so! I mean you could call a special ability a gift right? That sort of tells me that our lead bunny girl is collecting powers or maybe collecting them for a master? While I am talking about the black rabbit I couldn’t stop watching her because she is so cute and constantly moving around! Yeah most of that movement caused some well-placed boob jiggle effects, but I just love the combination of cute looks for her design and crazy voice talent from Iori Nomizu or better known as Haruna from Kore wa zombie. So should our heroes help the black rabbit or should they look for a way to return to their worlds? I can’t wait to see what happens next time.

Fun with Kurousagi

Do not fear, Kurousagi! I will give you a hug if you are scared.

Look for that special event in the OVA…I think…

Like I said on the recording studio Diomedea is fairly new to me because I did not watch much of Campione, Astarotte no Omocha and Ika Musume, but I really hope this series turns out to be another Ika Musume in terms of production… Originally I wasn’t expecting much from this series when I started it especially with the idea of people traveling from other worlds? That has been used over and over again, but since we only have to worry about ten episodes I plan on sticking to this series. Besides the production stuffs I enjoyed the hyper energy levels from the black rabbit. I mean usually I do not care for the animal-ish style characters like fox girls, cat girls and any other human animal hybrid, but there was something about the design and outfit of the black rabbit that worked well together even though I can somewhat predict lots of random fanservice later on with her. I just want to see more fighting and other powers being used because I loved the short fight at the end with Izayoi against that giant water dragon that was just AWESOME! So, what did you like about this first episode and do you plan on picking it up? I certainly hope you do.

About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

Looks like you’re getting used to SoundCloud. Does this mean that you’re going to start using this in the MetaVerse podcasts in place of your usual audio program?

An interesting anime with some appealing characters. Definitely planning on continuing this. So this is where Daimon Kaito Shintarō Asanuma (Izayoi)is staying until season three of Phi Brain starts. I’m upset that it’s 10 episodes because it looks promising right from the first one.

What I like is that none of the leads fit the “useless and helpless” type of personality which is a serious plus. Izayoi’s attitude makes him look like a middle class Gilgamesh and more stable Accelerator and Asuka acts like Rin from the Fate series.

What I understood from each of them is that they were, in their own way, bored of everyday life because they have powers and don’t know what to do with them. Once they get swallowed up in whatever is going on and the appeal of the new world, I doubt they’ll willingly leave. They were bored before they arrived.

Black Rabbit was so moe when she came on screen that I almost died from high levels of HHHGGNNN. A big contrast to Iori Nomizu’s Haruna from Kore wa Zombie. Note to self: Wear a hazmat suit whenever she’s around. Her introduction had me under the assumption that they were all transported to some Las Vegas based world. I’m guessing she had them brought to help with something she and the habitants obviously can’t handle. Like in Hagure Yuusha no Estetica needing a human from another world to beat the demon king.

I want the next episode right now because I want to know how many species of creatures live there. I even heard there are those who live in the city because it’s set up to shield those that cannot be directly exposed to the sun, meaning vampires. A quick question because I’m curious and want to hear some opinions: was anyone actually hoping I’d miss that piece of information? I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping. Ku ku ku. There was a red eyed, blonde haired loli wearing gothic clothing in the song which pretty much gives away the idea of what she could be.

Kurousagi was especially cute during the times when the started grabbing her ears >w< also when she started getting worried about provoking them lol XD

      • Foshizzel says:

When they grabbed her ears it was so cute <3

        • BlackBriar says:

It was cute but also funny when they thought she was cosplaying as a bunny girl. I admit she’d have been very convincing if she was a cosplayer.

    • Kyokai says:

Soundcloud is just for short recordings. Our official MetaVerse episodes will always be released via our powerpress plugin.

      • BlackBriar says:

So it’s something new that’s been found for personal use while you continue to use your powerpress plugin for collective uses like the MetaVerse podcasts. Does that mean the Metanorn bloggers will use SoundCloud added to their posts as a choice to better explain their opinion on anime if it isn’t done very well by writing? It sounds interesting hearing each bloggers voice individually.

        • Foshizzel says:

I also use SoundCloud for epic remix music! Lots of awesome music and some of them have free downloads. Hmmm not sure I just wanted to try some experimental stuff for the new season/new year! Just trying to keep things fresh, but who knows maybe it will catch on for the other writers <3

          • Yukarin_YY says:

I use soundcloud since lots of Touhou arrangers use it and upload songs there lol =w=

I MIGHT be a bit more addicted to Touhou than anime

    • Foshizzel says:

Soundcloud is just what I use and I will probably switch over to powerpress eventually like jrow, but I will do my best to continue with them as long as people like them xD

Hahah yeah I thought it was funny that they share the same voice actor! Maybe we will see more of Shintaro Asanuma in future action rolls? It seems to work for him.

Right I forgot about that the three main characters were bored with their current lives before they got picked for these crazy games.

I KNOW! Blackrabbit is so moe! That and I always like listening to Lori Nomizu even though most people find her role as Haruna from Zombie to be a bit annoying and we also have Megumi Nakajima who also voiced a character in Phi-brain as well~

Same I want to know more about their world and the other human looking characters from the opening <3

      • BlackBriar says:

I found out Izayoi had Kaito’s seiyuu just by listening to his voice. Both voices were similar but Izayoi’s was a lot lighter. Shintaro Asanuma has already started playing in a few shows where there a decent amount of action. He played in Yumekui Merry (Chris Evergreen: episodes 4-5) and Accel World (Takumu Taku Mayuzumi).

I don’t blame them for being bored with their daily lives. I wouldn’t go back to the real world if put in their place. Having powers and being able to use them would brighten anyone’s mood.

Iori Nomizu knows how to make contrast between her roles. From those like Haruna and Minatsuki Takami (Deadman Wonderland) to moe characters like Black Rabbit, FNC/Funco (Upotte!!) and that cute lightning demon Andou Mirai (Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi). So far, these are the only roles to my knowledge regarding her but she’s becoming a favorite.

So cat people and vampires are basically confirmed but I wonder if they’ll push the enveloppe by adding Succubi (plural for Succubus) in Little Garden’s population. It would be like Sword Art Online meets Rosario + Vampire.

  2. Highway says:

I’m not liking Iyazoi as an overpowered hero nearly as much as I liked Akatsuki in Hagure Yuusha, but that could change. The other two girls were a little better, especially the cat girl, and the hime-sama was less annoying later in the show than she was at the beginning.

Overall, this show has almost no subtlety, and seems very shounen. I thought it was almost painfully obvious what the setup for the show was. Black Rabbit is attached to a group of (being charitable, relative) losers, those guys hanging out outside the garden when they all walk up. They’re the weakest people in the whole place, but they’re probably really nice guys! And they’re getting beat down by the rest of the groups, and now they don’t have anything left to bet, and there’s probably some horrible consequence for losing everything in this world. So they recruited these three people with amazing powers to come and rescue their group, without telling them that they’re being recruited by the losers.

So the question is whether these overpowered people (I mean, come on, Iyazoi two-shotted a god) will stick with the loser group, or selfishly move on to the better groups. The dorama!!!!

That’s pretty sarcastic, but that’s what I see the whole show being. Not that that wouldn’t necessarily be entertaining, but we’re not talking ultra-deep plot lines here.

    • Yukarin_YY says:

OP Izayoi doesn’t play games. I’m wondering if we’ll get some romance between Izayoi and Kurousagi. Hime and Dandere don’t look like they’re falling for him any soon, though this isn’t a romcom harem

    • HannoX says:

I agree with your assesment completely of this show so far. But perhaps later it’ll turn out that Iyazoi has a hidden weakness or for the first time in his life he runs into someone stronger and has to deal with that. It’ll be a pretty boring show if he can take out everyone they encounter with just a few punches.

But there’s got to be something more to the games than just straight forward fighting. Why else have the two girls with their special powers and why would Black Rabbit have recruited them if their powers weren’t needed? Merely to have two more powers that her group can bet? Got to be more to it than that.

I’ll stick around for at least two more episodes. I’m sure vampires’ll be showing up (got a werewolf already) and maybe You’s cat will hit on more cat girls.

      • Yukarin_YY says:

I can’t really pinpoint what Izayoi’s power is yet. Is he just like superman or something?! Also, not only does he have Falcon Pawnching skills, he’s smart enough to memorize the order of all the cards. Izayoi has both intelligence and strength. SO STRGG. yes intentional typo this time. feel the STRGGth

    • Foshizzel says:

I feel you 100% on this Highway! Thankfully it is only 10 episodes so we wont have to worry about to much~

    • XNihili says:

The guy is indeed overpowered inf fighting power but it’s all about games. It could be interesting how he could win a game that has his power working against him.

  3. BlackBriar says:

Ahh, Spammy is at his comment eating frenzy again. Next time, I’m going to have my torch and pitchfork ready for him.

  4. Liza says:

It is so painfully obvious that Iyazoi is over-powered. Like to the point that there probably won’t be any suspense because we know he will come out victorious in the end. The girls on the other hand… I don’t know. Talking to animals isn’t really that strong and whatever the other one has(what was her name again….) does seem pretty powerful(mind control?) but she personally doesn’t seem to like that power much.

I’ll probably stick it out for the ten episodes because it is amusing in a very odd way, however at the same time, I ain’t watching it for the deep plot, that’s for sure.

    • Yukarin_YY says:

Ditto. that Hime-sama’s power seems suwpiciously overpowered. Not only can she control birds, she got that maid to talk involuntarily. Neko girl seems to have the most disadvantage unless she can all upon the help of a dinosaur or something. Izayoi is totally like Accelerator =w=

      • Liza says:

        That would be something…

COME FORTH DINOSAUR! Kill them all!

Huge plot twist right there. She is the most powerful character of all and will kill everyone in order for her to be the winner.

        • Gecko says:

That would be the best plot twist.
Maybe the final boss is an animal and she takes over it to destroy the other two!
COME FORTH, FINAL BOSS! DESTROY THE OTHER TWO! I AND MY CAT SHALL BE THE RULERS OF THIS WORLD!

  5. belatkuro says:

It’s a fairly standard simple and cliched show. Magic, magical creatures, some “deep” plot, and one(overpowered) boy and 3 girls(plus a cat) all together in a different world. Didn’t dislike it but I didn’t like it that much. It’s still the first episode though(out of 10? Weird episode count) so I’m staying to watch. The art and animation is pretty decent and pleasing to the eye.
I-it’s not like I’m watching this just for the bunny girl you know…

The cat is already the best character with him flirting with the cat waitress. He’s good.

    • BlackBriar says:

It’s a mixture of shows most might remember like Kore wa Zombie, C³: Cube x Cursed x Curious and Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi. Each had different supernatural beings with a shallow but fairly passable and enjoyable plot. The animation and character designs are the best part. I’m also thrown off by the strange episode count. Maybe there wasn’t enough story on whatever material this is based on.

    • Foshizzel says:

I am in it for the sexy-moe-bunny-girl <3

Besides 10 episodes is nothing to any anime fan!

      • BlackBriar says:

I second that statement on the bunny girl. Cosplayers in anime are good, real ones are better.

That depends on the off chance it’s anime you really like. Just look at what they did to Kore Wa Zombie: Of the Dead.

  6. PrimeHector says:

Izayoi is the most powerful of the three. Cat girl is the weakest sorry.

    • Yukarin_YY says:

Izayoi is the only one who’s shown off most of his powers. Currently he looks the most OP. but it’s the first episode, and honestly we don’t really know what any of their powers are.

You’s seems the weakest right now, but like elior1 said below, if she could copy abilities if animals then that would make her quit threatening. Also don’t forgot the possibility of her summoning a dinosaur lol 😉 but considering all those, she’s highly reliant on animals, which could be a fatal weakness.

As for the Ojou-sama, her powers could range anywhere from mind control to Divine Judgement. Two things are sure though, she can control other humans (which is pretty OP enough for me), but she’s reluctant to use it, as she was kind of shy to talk when her powers were mistaken as the same as You’s.

      • Tofu says:

I think that Tohsaka Rin was reluctant to say it is because there might be conflict between trust if she was to tell them “oh hey you know, I can control you and you wouldn’t know it” like how Code Geass played out. Maybe she’s scared of being treated like she’s suspicious? Not sure XD I’m just throwing out whatever right now.

    • Foshizzel says:

True Izaoyi screams POWER just watching him tells me he loves to fight as for the cat talking girl yeah it does appear to be a weak power, but she did appear to take on the abilities of a car and who knows maybe she can use other animals in the same way? I can’t wait to see how everyone uses their powers.

    • Gecko says:

Izayoi might go too far though, because he knows he has a lot of power.

    • BlackBriar says:

You could tell that statement simply by looking at him. His presence screams someone that has power but doesn’t know what to do with it.

  7. elior1 says:

from what i seen the girl which hold cat is the most powerful becous it looks like she can gain the powers of animals for example when they was chase after black rabbit she was jump like a cat

    • Foshizzel says:

Ahhhh yes! I did notice that when she was jumping around trying to catch the bunny girl at the start I just hope there are powerful animals that she can take over, also that random character sitting with them at the cafe place made a comment about it being a useful power.

  8. Tofu says:

I’m watching this for Tohsaka Rin and her Geass! ;D

  9. akagami says:

    Wacky. I like it.

Could do without the headphones though. Or at least take them off your ears? Unless they’re not really headphones but waterproof…um…some other high-tech device?

    • Foshizzel says:

Wacky is one way to word this series.

They are probably glued to his skull xD

      • BlackBriar says:

Or maybe he’s worn them for so long that he no longer notices them unless someone points them out.

  10. akagami says:

And dat cat is a playa! o.O Even though he has You. Hm hm.

  11. KLACMAN says:

well after watching it might some hmm give 3 people with unique power travel to different world.

meet bunny girl who explain there games to play seem give so far more going on give head-phone blonde guy seem very “hmm” sense something going on while beating a big sea dragon.

at least only 10eps sure whole nymph as bunny girl wonder how this go?

  12. Gecko says:

This seems fun, and I can’t say I’m expecting anything deep.
But at least all the protagonists seem to know what they’re going to do and have a plan of action! Very pleasing to me.
And all their powers seem pretty different. I like You’s power the most- it seems like she will have her chance to shine when there’s an animal game. She also has a lot of diversity. Rin will probably have the most problems when she has to tell the other two what exactly she can do.
Izaoyi obviously has some kind of strength and memorization and those dumb headphones. Maybe someone will take them off, and he will turn into a ‘shoe’… hahaha no, that would be terrible. Absolutely terrible.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeah same here Gecko I don’t really have any high expectations with this series because hey 10 episodes tells me that they either A ran out of content or B not enough budget for three extra episodes? Either way I am curious to see where things go.

Izaoyi is super powerful! I just hope that means he will keep us entertained even though his power is CRAZY!
