Saki supporters continue to push through the main characters of the series, and in what was one of the most exciting matches of the year Shizuno managed to take out TOSHINO KYOUKOOOO. The match itself brought in, what I believe to be, the highest vote count of any match so far, which is a good sign for the future. Yuru Yuri just hasn’t been lucky with match-ups so far with six of their seven matches ending in defeat! (Akarin slipped by wondrously, of course!) Yui and Himawari have yet to play, so the Yuru Yuris aren’t out of it just yet~
The biggest surprise of C1 was Tamayura’s Maon, aka whistle girl, who beat out both Laura Bodewig and Hayate’s Maria. Considering her friends weren’t nearly as lucky, it’s nice to see her going through to round 2. I get the feeling that will be the end of her run though.
… And so ends last year’s quarter-finalist Erica Hartmann’s second run for gold! (Defeated at the hands of cute little Yune, by 4 votes no less~) Yayoi killed in her match, but it wasn’t a good measure of her ability considering her two competitors weren’t exactly the most popular in prelims. Astarotte will also be moving on in hopes of reaching the final 8 once again. Her path, compared to other groups, isn’t as challenging, but I can’t see her coming out on top of C2. Ui’s victory is a good sign for K-On! Her more popular friends have matches coming up, so we shall see how they compare!
Two Asami Imai characters, oh how happy this makes me~ Kurisu’s chances were cut short last year by Astarotte, but the way the brackets are seeded she’s in a very good position. Ultimately I could see a Chihaya-Kurisu showdown in the future and how exciting that would be! Hinata and Sana came out of nowhere for me, but it’s nice to see more unique series getting through. Otherwise, not all too surprising, except for the defeat of Mihoko.
KARUTA LOST!? Oh noez, a lot of Metamoe people will be losing their picks. >< It was a close match, but she fell short by 9 votes. Saber’s victory was a pleasant surprise, Madoka’s as well. Otherwise, I still believe this is Nagi’s bracket to lose.

I’m surprised at Karuta’s loss as well, I would have thought she’d advanced farther. Perhaps Inu x Boku SS wasn’t that popular, myself I thought it was a decent show.

Wow. Eliminations are brutal and merciless. Too bad for Karuta. She was an interesting, gluttonous character voiced by Hanazawa. And even though they aren’t my picks, I’m glad to see Houki, Kuko (Cthugha), Madoka and Saber survive this round.
Yuuko Kanoe is up next. I’m anxiously hoping she’ll make it. She was awesome in Tasogare Otome x Amnesia which was a perfect anime. Go Ghost girl!!!

Then I strongly reinforce the recommendation of continuing it. It’s a really good series and has a balance of horror, humor and romance. The more you watch, the more you’ll love Yuuko’s character. Not to mention the OP and ED are awesome.

I have hope Yuuko will pull through because I think she has as much support as Takane. I saw the comments when Tasogare finished its run and there were a lot of positive remarks.
You’ve got to check out Tasogare. You won’t regret it once you start watching. It was one of the best animes of Spring season.
