Hidan no Aria – 05

Butei Rule Number 9! …10? I lost track…

Buh. You know what sucks? I’m done with exams but teachers are giving me work. My math teacher is making me write a sonnet. DOES THAT EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE?!?! Ah well, at least Hidan no Aria is getting pretty interesting. I was actually very surprised at how good I found this episode even though they were in an airplane pretty much the whole time. It was really intense!

So we begin with Aria getting shot in a critical region. Kinji quickly takes her to a room and administers first aid treatment. He pretty much stabs her in the chest with a fat needle. You know; no biggie. Aria wakes up and starts freaking out, partially as a result of the medication he administered and partially because her shirt was undone. I think her anger is rather justified personally. xD

Damn. And I thought MY shots were bad…

She starts screaming at Kinji as he won’t let her go to fight against Riko. She argues that she knows that he hates her and that she can handle everything on her own. All of a sudden, Kinji kisses her to get himself into Hysteria Mode. WOW. HE KISSED HER. WOW. THAT WAS FAST. WOW. OK. WOW. Ok, I’m done. It turns out that not only is it Aria’s first kiss, but it’s Kinjis’ as well which is actually pretty adorable. Anyways, Kinji assures Aria that she can trust him to handle things.

Meanwhile, the Butei back at school have heard about what has happened to the flight that Aria is on and realize that there are more Butei on board (i.e., Kinji). Back on the plane, Riko has found the room that Kinji and Aria are in and busts in to defeat them. However, their teamwork is too much for her and she is forced to escape. Kinji chases after her and she invites him to join the EU. When he asks her what the EU is, she tells him that it is a “heaven” and that his brother is in it! She makes her final escape by blowing a hole in the plane and turning her school uniform into a parachute. Well then!

At least Riko’s got style…

The plane then gets hit by missiles sent by the EU. At school, Mutou and the others are unable to reach the plane and discover that the government has cut off communication with the plane. By this point, Aria and Kinji have regained control of the plane and are trying to fly it back to safety. The plane is quickly losing fuel due to the missiles knocking out two of the engines – they won’t last much longer in the air. They all realize that the government intends to sacrifice the plane instead of risking a failed landing at the airport!

Kinji plans on using Empty Island as an emergency landing strip for the plane as a runway must be at least 2,000 meters and he has no other choice. He prepares for the worst, but Aria has faith in him. Their friends at school set up lights on the island so they can see where to land. Ah, this was such an intense moment!

The next morning, after a successful landing, Aria talks to Kinji about how she’ll have to find a partner. She asks Kinji, but he says no. She is rather upset and leaves by helicopter. Kinji comes running after her and tells her that he will be her partner after all! Aria JUMPS out of the helicopter and they live happily ever after! Hah! Just kidding. They return back to Kinji’s place where Shirayuki finds them and goes into a rage at finding a girl other than herself with him. I knew I would find her annoying…

End Thoughts: As mentioned previously, I’m rather surprised at how much I like Hidan no Aria so far. Typically, I don’t go for these super boob-filled, action type shows because a lot of them tend to be pretty cliché. However, I would say that Hidan no Aria has enough originality to offset the typicality. Hysteria Mode? That’s gold!

So, although Hidan no Aria got off to a rather weak start, I would say that the pace has definitely picked up. This episode was really exciting! It was a really good blend of drama and action; I was fully engaged in what was happening. I especially love how everybody worked together at the end and I really hope to see more of Mutou and the others. Kinji’s got some pretty bamf friends there!

Among the highlights of Episode 5 was DAT KISS. Talk about budding romance! Sucks for you Shirayuki! That WAS pretty fast though. They haven’t even properly worked together! Either way, I quite like Aria and Kinji together. They complement each other pretty well. It’s cute. ;D

Obviously, the EU is rather central to the plot here. First of all, I would REALLY like to know what they even are! Riko made them out to be a sort of “heaven” but I highly doubt that. I can’t take anything she says seriously after that whole stunt with the parachute clothes. What really intrigues me is that she claims that Kinji’s brother is in it! This worries me – he was supposed to be dead. I really hope he doesn’t end up being the evil mastermind behind all of this.

Hopefully, she’s not as annoying as she seems to be…

Prepre for yandereness, School Days style…
Sorry, had to do that, ;P Honestly, I had been a little bored from the last few eps but giving faith in Hidan no Aria, I’m glad I haven’t dropped it, especially when there is an invention called the seifuku-parachute…*proceeds to drool….
Can’t wait to see what’s in store with Itou’s Kinji’s harem and how many he’ll collect (Can he beat Touma’s record? Not withstanding the fact Misaka Mikoto is an automatic win but…yeah)

I have actually never seen School Days…not sure if I should start. xD

DUDE! THAT PARACHUTE WAS CRAZY!!!! I had to like…go back and replay it again to comprehend what had happened.

Yah, he really IS building up a harem. I like him with Aria though. 😛

Guess Kinji is back to being a slave…

That kiss! And he didn’t get slapped once… xD

    • Zabobinator says:

Yah! That was intense! I wish they had actually shown the landing. xD

Slave…maybe. Aria seems a bit kinder now. And yah! She didn’t slap him! WOOH ROMANCE!

Sooooooo many places to tackle with, but for this series, tackling means losing, so i will stay shut and just watch as the story flows

I’m so conflicted about this show. For one I like the characters and the premise but I hate how the main people are the fourth generations of Lupin and Holmes. Lupin would never try to kill anyone yet thats exactly what his great grandaughter did(fanboy rage). This show seems fun so far but there’s no need put those names in because Sherlock Holmes and Arsene Lupin are way out of this shows league. It almost makes the show seem worse by bringing up those gods of fiction. I guess the kiss was interesting but it almost seemed functional to me. Doesn’t he go into hysteria mode when he’s aroused or am I just getting confused. The idea that his brother didn’t die and is working for IU is interesting I guess but it kind of reminds me of the whole Sasuke thing in Naruto. I am loving this show can’t wait for the next episode. It’s so action packed.

    • Zabobinator says:

Yah, I’m with you on that whole thing. I didn’t like the literary references. They should have left those out.

He used the kiss to arouse himself I suppose!

I can see parallels between Kinji’s bro and Itachi from Naruto. That’s an interesting thing to notice!

This has to be the only plausible ecchi I’ve ever seen.

    • Dan-go says:

plausable. well yes, i’m sure a british fictional character’s decendent would becom a crime fighting dual pistol wielding underage mercenary. fighting blonde girls who can use their hair strands as weapons. and stuff…btw this is REALLY not ecchi…at all!

    • Zabobinator says:

      Plausible? xD
