Finally some information about the extra episode to be released with the first DVD release named 12.5. The timelines would be just after the twelfth episode. I can write pages on the brilliance of Durarara!!, though not the best ending but a very well-rounded anime with a forage of lovable characters, who are properly fleshed out. Nobody forgot the main characters but one would even remember a guy like Kinnosuke, who you only see terrorizing the streets and Celty-chan on random in the second arc of the first season (look what I did here?) I’m still waiting for that second season announcement and even optimistic about it–Brain Base, please don’t disappoint me! If optimism doesn’t work I might go to this level… :hypnotize
So, what to expect from the episode?
Typical Drrr! Awesomeness~
In summary as described on the official site, Celty would receive a mysterious red bag, which will cause a chain of events around Ikebukuro. Almost all the favourite characters return so along with Trio (Mikado, Masaomi and Anri), who are supposedly enjoying a Summer festival. The Dotachin gang gets involves in the chase and even Izaya, Shinra, Kinnosuke and the Yakuza (Shiki?) are involved. The scene that made me go kyaaa~ was Shizu-chan uprooting a tree (hopefully he’s throwing that towards an unsuspecting Izzy). Simon is missing from the screen but an unknown redhead’s shown with a connection to the mysterious bag. Even Isaac and Miria will be back for another cameo appearance. And yeah, Aliens (Yu-Eff-Oh) in Ikebukuro? I can bet there’s some other explanation to those shiny objects in the Ikebukuro sky? Uh, fireworks?
Durarara!! Live Event
Anyway, with August 25 two weeks away, you can still have some good Durarara!! fun with a Live Event featuring the main seiyuu cast, Hiroshi Kamiya (Izaya), Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Mikado), Daisuke Ono (Shizuo), Jun Fukuyama (Shinra) and Yuichi Nakamura (Kadota). Those who were not present added some comments via video in between like Kana Hanazawa (Anri) and Mamoru Miyano (Masaomi).
I was not kidding when I said Toshiyuki was bullied. Yeah, Hiroshi is checking out his butt… ^^;
I couldn’t understand the whole thing but it seemed the main seiyuus were having more than fun and poor Toshiyuki was getting burnt by the industry regulars. The best was the parody by OD of Sebby from Kuroshitsuji. If someone subs this, I would be one happy camper! Masu, can you translate this? Anyway, till I’m done with compiling the Fall 2010 review, Ja ne~
