Kimi Ni Todoke – 23

Episode starts with Sawako waking up and swooning over her new phone. This would be now the most precious thing for her because the accessory string was gifted by Kazehaya.

I simply lurve this Chibi Sawako!

In school, boys are gossiping about Sawako appearing in the after party, accompanied by Kazehaya (Masaka! *gossipgossip ad nauseum*). The idiots are girlying about when Yano stops them from going over their heads. Of course, being the first one to notice Kazehaya and Sawako’s feelings for each other, she is giving both of them time in figuring things out.

Sawako enters the class and greets everyone as usual. Kazehaya soon follows in and is greeted by the usual chatters of we-love-kazehaya crowd. Sawako notices Kazehaya and goes back to the blunder she made with the stomach belt gift. Kazehaya is over-excited to keep it even though he mistook it for a neck warmer.

Coming to the present, Sawako’s he’s so nice internal monologue is interrupted by his tie, after which she goes all Nakahara Sunako. (From Wallflower. Thank God there was no nosebleed! =P)

Arai sensei comes for a short visit and informs the students about his resignation to go and manage his wife’s sake brewery. Pin is their new home room teacher and for sure he would be up to no good. While convening for the last assembly before winter vacations, we get a glimpse of Kurumi.

I like this Kurumi way better! Reminds me of Ami Kawashima from Toradora!

Sawako realizes that after going home today, she won’t be seeing Kazehaya for some time. There are so many thoughts in her head to say to him but she hesitates. Kazehaya too, was burning to say something but Joe (Aho da ne!) as usual interrupts their conversation.

But Kazehaya turns back and calls out a bye bye. (Uwaaaa! This bye bye had such a heavy meaning all rolled into one!) :blush2:

The trio hangs out after school, where Chizu and Ayane make Sawako’s email address. They find out that it’s her birthday on New Year’s and an evil glint passes between them. Unknowingly Sawako fumbles to say she wants to meet them during vacations, when they nod in agreement. Of course, they would, Bakka!

Chibi Sadako/Sawako starts a bit grimly but happily transforms into a soul released from worries

Chizu and Yano-chin tell her their plans of going to the shrine with Ryu and her. Sawako quickly uses her recently acquired mobile skills and dials home to ask her mother, who conspires with her to go.

That is when the shipper friends conspires even more in motivating her to call Kazehaya and invite him to come together. She finally gathers some courage and calls him. Kazehaya is more than happy to receive her call and instantly replies, “I’ll go!”

With Yoshida, Yaho, Rye and YOU, right?

It’s like a dream, Sawako wonders. She would be meeting Kazehaya when she would turn 16.

On New Year’s Eve, Chizu and Yano arrive early, only to surprise Sawako in prettying her up. They wish her happy birthday and gift her a beautiful butterfly clip.

I liked this sequence of both friends prepping her up as if she’s going on her first prom. It is to the extent of which they really know her, how she tries her best in everything and would do anything to appear more girly and cute rather than a Sadako-look-a-like. Their strong bond is shown the way both of them fret over her.

DAWWW!!! Kawaaaiiiii~ (She looks simply beautiful!)

Unbeknownst to Sawako, the girls have a plan of their own of fixing an official ‘date’ between Sawako and Kazehaya (what do you like to call them? I like Sawahaya). The surprised expression on Kazehaya’s fase is sugoi! It’s clear that he’s bowled over by Sawako’s looks and how different she looks from school.

“Yano and Chizu aren’t coming. Sanada-kun too,” Sawako informs. Kazehaya’s expression here is unreadable but I can take a guess at two things. Either he is thinking what he thought of Sawako was different from what she truly is or he knows that their friends are meddling to make them meet alone. However, his nature is not taking someone’s help but doing things his own way and that is why he has been ploughing on in his own way for Sawako to understand his true feelings.

The episode ends with Kazehaya leading the way…. :angel1

*takes a deep breath*

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! Nande, nande, nandeee~! :baww2:

Why did Shiina Karuho came up with such a brilliant series and volumnized it so excruciatingly?! I want MORE. I want to see what happens next, even when I’ve read the manga till recent chapters. This Anime makes me re-watch each episode and capture the cuteness of each character and slow development. I’ve been waiting very patiently for the coming episode because it finally shows Sawahaya in prime, face to face interacting with each other. So, why does this week’s time seem like a year? Whyyyyy!!! 😥

I am also kind of feeling doomed, because KnT would soon end—26 announced epis alright—but I hope there is a season 2 and a lot more! Motto motto~!

^__^ this epie was super cute =) GAH i love kazehaya XD

I too want the anime to come out quicker! BUT i dont want it to end >_> a second season would be a good solution to that problem ^_~

    love the gifs btw!!! <3

ooooo….. Sawako is sooooooo beautiful… one word to describe… really really beautiful….!

A second season of anything usually ruins the original show. sage on this.

Besides, the manga series itself is about to end.

I really like how Chizu’s arc was settled in the end…much more than I thought I would. Out of curiosity, I read ahead again and the manga was great but I think for once, the anime wins cuz they gave us that scene where Chizu asks Ryuu to comfort her and who cannot go “aww” at that, huh? It was sweet…well, maybe a little bittersweet for Chizu’s heartache but everything worked out fine and she can move on which is all that matters. ^^
I also agree on what you said about Chizu not realizing just how much she depends on Ryuu. Hopefully now that she’s over the blind puppy love she had for Tooru, she’ll come to realize this sooner or later and then yay~ <3

OMG, when Sawako lifted her cellphone up to the Heavens made me LOL so hard, I don’t even know what happened after that. lol xDD; God, she’s so cute! <3

Always nice to see Kurumi again. Kurumi~

    And…I think I would like to give an award to Yano and Chizu for being the best female BFFs like EVAR of the year or something. They tease Sawako good-naturedly about her adorable crush but support her to the fullest and OMGAWD, I just realized I can’t really describe them for all their awesomness so not going to bother continuing. xD;

Kyaaaa~!!!! Post-makeover Sawako looks so cute!!!!! *runs around and squeals everywhere* Technically, this is her first unofficial date, hmm? Hehee~ x3

Haaa…yea, I find it a little sad that this awesome series will be ending in 3 episodes but I’m confident that they’ll have a sequel maybe next year or so. Given how popular the manga is and how well the anime is doing, it’s simply idiotic not to have a second season. It’s also one of the few shoujo adaptations that hasn’t gone utterly wrong so yea, they better animate the later arcs. I want something to watch on Wednesdays! haha

Xiao-chan, that is the reason I covered it. Chizu arc was too good to pass up! Btw, the comfort me part was there in manga, did you miss chapter 23? The hug scene was epic daww-ness! :blush2:

Let’s ship Chizu and Ryuu ahead so they realize their feelings mutually. Ryuu, gambatte ne~

Chibi Sawako is always kawaaaii~ Sawako is kawaii period! People just have to look the right way! XD I’m sooo looking forward to the next epi, only one day to go to see Sawahaya in action. Full of dawwwness I can bet.

There better be a season 2 of this for sure! Show ▼

@ umi_no_mizu, Arrigato~ I dunno what is it about this couple that I wanna just glomp them! Supper cuteness for sure! XD Only two epis left, I don’t know how they will give closure to this couple when so much development is left. Let’s see what Production I.G decides.

    @ Wolfie, Sabarashi ne~ :aww:

@ Ritz, I agree 100% on season twos but if you’ve read the manga, there is a lot of development still left in the characters and I don’t think 2 episodes would do it justice. Let’s see what the producers decide. o_O
