Twilight Manwha…
*insert facepalm here*
I’m practically not surprised anymore by this announcement of a Twilight adaptation for a manga, or a manwha perhaps (being done by a Korean artist).
“The North American publisher Yen Press will release a manhwa adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight teenage vampire novel series by Korean artist Young Kim. The Entertainment Weekly magazine reports that “Meyer herself is deeply immersed in the project, reviewing every panel.” More details and illustrations will be published in the magazine’s next issue on Friday, although the publication date of the manhwa itself is still to be determined.” [ANN]
*Le sigh*… But hey, Yen Press for sure will make lots of money outta this. Edward looks a little bit more closer than what he is described in the novel. Other than that, I’m not going to say anything more XD. I’ll leave it up to you. What do you think about Twilight getting a manga/manwha now?

I had RAGE~ :rage: when I first got heard the news. *hits head on the desk* The book wasn’t that bad. It was the annoying overrated hype for it. Oii…anyways, I’m pretty bothered and annoyed by more hype for it. Next thing you know, there’s going to be an anime (I hope not). x_x But it’s true, they’re probably going to make lots of money from it. >_<

All I can think about is how the last thing the anime fandom needs is more crazy fangirls. Manhwa brings them too close! :baww:
Also, I admit that the rebirth in “Harry Potter vs. Twilight” comparisons that don’t immediately say “Harry Potter wins because it has an actual continuing plot!” has me feeling especially bitchy (to the “Die Twilight! Die!” extent). Awful timing really.
Oh well. No stopping it now. I better pray for my favorite series to end before any invasion could start.

Well yeah, probably the good thing is that they’ll make more money. And I agree that Edward looks indeed closer to what’s been described to him on the novel. Thank god it’s not some Robert Pattinson who looks like on some drugs 😆 .
But still, not planning to check it out. Not a personal fan of manwha in general.

Twilight is just terrible. I can’t say anything “good” about it and it’s a really sad fact that it’s highly overrated by everyone. What irks me so much is that the creator is giving a really wrong way of interpreting vampires. DO NOT WANT SPARKLES. :rage:

-__- *Sigh* The biggest surprise in this for me is that I’m not even that surprised. Since the adaptation of those Meg Cabot and James Patterson books as ‘mangas’ *cough cough graphicnovels cough*, I had a feeling that this would pop out of the wood works sooner or later. I’m not reading it, except maybe to laugh at it or, you know, so that I can criticize it without looking like an ignorant fool. The thing I’m dreading the most is going to be the sheer amount of *****SPARKLES***** that’ll be put into the pictures of Edward.
Note to self: never, never, never let those Twilight-obsessed people in school know about it. If I do mention it, put it in next to an actually good work of fiction, eg. The Alchemist, Death Note, Haruhi, etc.
