Tsui’s Favorite Anime OPs: pt.1
Part 1 of the list of my favorite anime opening sequences. Before I begin the list, I want to say that they are just based on my personal opinions and bias-ness. And pic: unrelated. Out of the hundred other great anime OPs out there, choosing only 20 was really hard. I don’t have a certain specific criteria, I just go with how awesome the music is, and how unique and watch-worthy the overall sequence will be. So anyhow, let us start of the list with harem, a badass teacher, Samurai’s, mecha and teh USA!
20: To-LOVE-Ru – “Forever We Can Make It!”

THYME had just been my newest favorite J-band since their breakthrough act last year. The song’s catchy, the style of the OP is really cool, so what’s more to say. T0-LOVE-Ru starts off my favorite OP list.
19: Samurai Champloo – “Battlecry”

The animation style of the OP was definitely unique, and it’s accompanied by a very cool music. Really a stylish OP accompanied by each character introduced in there.
18: GTO OP1 – “Driver’s High”

And this one’s for the oldies. Good ol’ times since I was watching GTO a couple of years ago. And this one’s still remains a favorite of mine. For the first reason, L~Arc en Ciel, which is the only J-band I knew back ago. And GTO was also one of my favorite animu of all time so this gets the #17 spot.
17: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann – “Sorairo Days”

Gurren Lagann was awesomesauce. And it also has it’s own awesome OP as well. Well, it might not be amazing as the others, but props for the execution of the animation and the catchy tune as well.
16: BECK Mongolian Chop Squad – “Hit In The USA”

And #16 goes to the anime Mongolian Chop Squad BECK. This was one of my favorites ever and I just love listening to it. It’s catchy, cool and really something we can sing along with (it’s Engrish). Plus when we watch the OP, we’ll know what anime this is about, so points for relativity too.

To Love-Ru has a great opening (even if I pretty much hate the show). And of course anything related to Gurren Lagann is pure awesome. Ah…now I want to listen to Sorairo Days…
