I’ll put my choices up before making comments later. 2015 has been a good year.

    Winter 2015:
    Durarara!!x2 Shou
    Death Parade
    Tokyo Ghoul √A
    Akatsuki no Yona
    Ansatsu Kyoushitsu

    Spring 2015:
    Owari no Seraph
Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season
    Shokugeki no Souma
    Arslan Senki
    Kekkai Sensen

    Summer 2015:
    Durarara!!x2 Ten
Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri
    Overlord
    Rokka no Yuusha
    Senki Zesshou Symphogear GX

@IreneSharda: Concerning Arslan Senki. Arslan was 11 when he first met the boyish-looking Etolie then a three year time skip later, making him 14 years old and he turned 15 at the end of series where he began his campaign to reclaim the kingdom.

    • IreneSharda says:

Thank you BB, I watched and blogged the whole series and I still forgot. 😛

      • BlackBriar says:

No problem. And that was purely out of memory. Even if it’s a long way off since its airing, if it’s a series that’s caught my attention and I begin focusing on it, I’ll gradually start recalling details. Plus, there’s my anime filled external hard drive to help me out. 😛

That aside, for Sidonia, the Gauna placenta that birthed Tsumugi is a copy of the late Shizuka Hoshijiro and her more vicious counterpart piloting a Gauna-like mech is Benisuzume.

~Sad I wasn’t able to join in at the last minute ;; One of these days when I have time and a quiet place to record…

    Anyway, as for my picks:

(Sorry, I ended up writing a lot so I’ll just stick this in a spoiler tag lol.)

    • Foshizzel says:

No worries Hoshi! Always next time.

Kekkai: Same! Great characters, cool world, hilarious moments and an interesting story even though most of it was confusing, but yeah I loved it and I forgot it had a manga I haven’t checked it out yet so maybe I will one day…

One Punch man: Hahaah that was such a fun series! From start to finish it always left me grinning and agreed I have my fingers crossed for another season in the future.

Ore Monogatari: I just recommended that to my sister along with Gekkan Shoujo, but yeah Ore Monogatari was a lot of fun even though it had some slow points it managed to make me care about Takeno and Yamada, usually I end up hating one of the two characters in most romance series like Golden Time for example…ack…terrible…

Osomatsu: I’m like 5-6 episodes behind on that but from what little i’ve seen it’s great and it does have a similar Gintama feel when it comes to the odd humor and of course the first episode with all the parodies on a lot of popular anime.

Himouto Umaru-chan: I hope it gets another season! I know what you mean her bratty nature is just part of the character and taking that away kinda kills the character, but yeah eventually she stops being that way once she meets the other girls and starts to hang out with them instead of playing games and watching anime.

I assume you caught up to the Gintama manga or the anime?? Either way AWESOME! I wish more people would give Gintama a shot because it’s soooooooooo good!

      • Hoshi says:

~I caught up on the anime! I want to read the manga as well, but I’ll probably wait until the current arc is over since I believe it’s almost done and it’s just so epic to watch.

Yeah same here! I know you and Kyo have kept saying to check it out, and when I finally did, it was like “Holy crap why aren’t there more people watching this??”. I know the length is super intimidating, but I realized that because it’s so long, you got to know a lot more about the characters, and each season gets better and better because you know the characters so well. Plus there’s so much random shenanigans that happen it’s constantly entertaining lol.

I actually told a classmate from my Japanese class to watch it when she asked for me reccs and now she’s in love with it as well, so there’s at least one more person now lol.

        • Foshizzel says:

Aweesome! Yeah the current assassination arc is really good and ill agree watch it when it’s done, but I think that might be the last anime arc. I could be wrong? I don’t read the manga cause I love watching the anime version thanks to the actors.

I wish more people would try! I know Skylion watched 6 episodes of the current season without watching from the start which isn’t a great idea because like you said if you start from the beginning you learn and figure out all the characters and how they act around each other.

Wow nice! Yes spread the Gintama love~

    Best shows were:

    Winter 2015
    Shirobako
    Cross Ange
    Parasyte

    Spring 2015
    Hibike! Euphonium
    Yuki Nagato

    Summer 2015
    Jitsu wa Watashi wa
    Gate
    Working!!!

    Fall 2015
    Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry
    Sakurako-san
    Everything is F’d

    Some observations:

Kekkai Sensen: I watched about 2 minutes of this. I think it’s hilarious that so many people say they liked it, and everyone says exactly the same thing: “I have no idea what went on, but it was bright and had a bunch of characters and super fast paced.” I guess I understand being fascinated by bright colors and motion, but that’s not anything enough for a TV show for me, where I want some actual character development and plot.

Cross Ange: I will always go to the mat for this show. It was tremendous, even if other people were embarrassed by the show. It had great characters with significant development, a lot of really good action, a plot that never broke itself, even though it was frequently eye-rolly, and was the show that I looked forward to every week. The only other show that had that much expectation for me was…

Hibike! Euphonium: Unbelievably good. I’ve probably watched *every* episode 5 times now. Not just episode 8 or episode 13 or the special ones. All of them. That’s what happens when you make the best characters you can and let them be themselves living their lives. And that it was about a wind ensemble just added to the greatness for me, bringing back memories and even a desire to play those instruments again.

    • Foshizzel says:

Nice selection of stuff from the year! My biggest surprises in 2015 on your list were easily Jitsu wa Watashi wa which was a lot of fun to watch and Parasyte! That one always had something crazy going on and it kept me wanting more every week.

Kekkai: well sometimes people just want action and comedy while not getting much of a story it’s no different than watching a brainless action flick just to see explosions and cool fight scenes.

Cross Ange: I will applaud Sunrise for trying something new at least they are somewhat good at experimenting and they gave you Ange and I got Valvrave so were all happy.

Hibike: Yeah that one was cool I wasn’t as invested in it as others but it was an enjoyable watch! I never was big into music in school that is probably why I didn’t have it in any of my lists and I know you and everyone else that loved it will probably say that you don’t even have to be a hardcore music fan to enjoy it.
