The breast moment of the series <3

Hello and welcome to a series review for Durarara!!x2 Shou! Yeah things got crazy with Akane, Shizuo, Mikado and Izaya! I just wish this series could keep going instead of doing the whole x4 split cour thing, but at least it gives us fans something to look forward to right? Anyway instead of a written post I figured I would just talk about the last half of the series so I hope you enjoy listening! Yes a Nanatsu no Taizai series review is also coming next time.

About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

I thought the series so far was fine, except Mikado at the end. I really don’t understand his character, and it just feels like he gets this “Oh yeah I’ll show you!” kind of reaction to the dumbest stuff that makes him act entirely in opposition to the way the rest of his character is. You could chalk it up to the rebelliousness of youth, but it feels so jarring in this show that it really takes me out of it. Maybe it’s just that I can’t understand that person as he is, but it feels pathetic that he’ll get pushed around and manipulated the whole show by Izaya, do nothing about it, maybe not even realize how much of a weak puppet he is and then get all upset when someone points out that he gets all pushed around.

I feel like this is a very wrong assessment of Mikado. Part of why Mikado moved to Ikebukuro was to stand out, but as we’ve seen mostly from the start, he’s been the small fish compared to the rest. When Rokujou didn’t even believe Mikado saying he was the Dollar’s leader, it caused the breakdown that made Mikado realize he needs to be more hands-on (pun unintended). It’s also not crazy to see a flip in his personality, as we saw that in season 1 when it was revealed he was the leader of the Dollars. I very much liked Mikado’s development at the end here.

Never a dull day in the streets of Ikebukuro. Well, no reason to be sad because there’s more on the way but it was great to have Durarara!! make a glorious return. Man, how glad I was deciding to marathon the entire first season to be up to speed.

The best parts of the series is when you think it’s animating disjointed segments, it doesn’t take long to show everything is connected down to fine detail. The show never slows down, never lets up, something is always happening, it’s bursting with energy so you never once feel like getting bored. That and abundance of unique characters who are fun to watch.

Personally, I find they picked a nice spot for the cliffhanger. Having the seemingly untouchable Izaya Orihara being brought down. Oh, how the emperor has fallen. He is mortal, after all, huh? 😉 See you all in Summer for Durarara!!x2 Ten.

Pretty sure Izaya is not dead but that was quite a cliffhanger ending.
