1rste Eindrücke – Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma✫Illya 2wei!

Are you ready for some Kickass LOLis?!

It was a shame we couldn’t cover the first show originally. If I had been writing then, I surely would have. So with that in  mind, thanks for bringing me here Kyo! I got to blog a show I could have made time for way back then.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Illya 103

It’s important to introduce the episode just right…

skylion//  This is another one of my highly anticipated shows of the Summer ‘14 season, and with damn good reasoning. The first show was about the best I’ve seen. It pretty much had everything I love in anime with great animation, a neat take on magical girls, amazing combat scenes, an a brillant OP…. the list can go on. Silver Link did a great adaptation, and they haven’t slacked on this outing. The transformation and magical action scenes were so darn pretty, and the character designs are as lovely as ever. Now as for me, aside from the masterwork of Fate/Zero,  I didn’t really take to the Fate Universe in specific, nor the Nasuverse in general, but these two shows make me feel like I’ve got a nice slice of the bigger pie.  I mean, I know some of the supporting characters are from other franchises, but is that really all that important? In the manga they track very well as original characters, so I am hoping they bring the same feel to the anime.

Illya 104

Is Nanaki’s discipling of Tatsuko so normal now that that kid on right doesn’t even notice anymore?

skylion// Well, aside from the larger aspects, The Prisma Illya franchise stands firmly on it’s own feet, alternate universe or not. But, as I am wont to admit, I would have loved for this episode to deliver the same big joys of last season right off the bat. But establishing the mood, the supporting characters, and Miyu’s place in these things is important. Like any true magical girl story, these two not only fight for the world, but for each other. Having read the manga, Miyu’s growing role in this group of friends lives, and especially with Ilya, is going to become very crucial.

The Fate of the World

Illya 110

Welcome to the Fuyuki City Earth Day Celebration

skylion// But even with the emotional territory mapped out, we have to get to the bigger picture, the Class Cards and the effects they have on the world. As the stakes were shown in the last program, the Class Cards were causing disruptions to the Earth’s Ley Lines. So the plan is to use Ruby and Sapphire’s awesome mana channeling power to reset/ un-disrupt everything. You have to have non-disrupted ley lines, folks. They gots important Ley Line To Do Lists, and from what I hear, it is serious business. For one, the whole process can summon a LOLi! Oh, dat Kuroe! I can’t wait to hear Chiwa Saito next episode.

There’s more to the Ley Lines

As I should expect from premieres, you can’t all your cha-chas up front. You’ve got to be patient. But with such great material to work from, I get rather anxious. I mean, we only got like ten seconds of Kuro. Admittedly that was ten more seconds that we had before the premiere, so we should count our blessings. This is something we will see Kuro, Illya, and Miyu do in this run, be reminded to count their own blessings of friendship and familty. No matter it’s ties to the greater Fate Universe, it’s still Mahou Shoujo…just harder hitting.  It’s gonna be a wild little ride. BTW, was anyone else laughing their asses off that the soundtrack for Illya and Miyu’s transformation scene was both music and the awkward sounds of Rin and Luvia nearly drowning in bog?!

You did not show enough of your cute Nanaki. She is going to get tsuntsun on you. 😛

And stop kidnapping LOLis in your limo.

Anyway, half the episode is new material since half of the chapter was used in the last season. And damn… no morning kiss. 🙁

    • skylion says:

I told you, out of that crew I only have eyes for Tatusko…

      That wasn’t my limo…

      …agreed…

      • Wanderer says:

As folks had to remind me, the morning kiss actually was done in episode ten of the first season, in all its glory. That makes this the second time Illya’s tried to sleep-kiss Miyu, and if you look closely you’ll see Miyu was ready this time: she closed her eyes and puckered her lips slightly.

      • Di Gi Kazune says:

I do not know who this “Natsuko” in Prisma Illya is. If you really mean TATSUKO…… your membership in the Tatsuko club is being reevaluated as you made a major faux pas…

            *trying to stop laughing*

*ahem* if you’re trying to do your edits, at least please do it properly. Kyubey is on the way to confiscating the membership card. “Tatusko” *trying to really stop laughing*

      • BlackBriar says:

Hmm… the Tsukihime anime should exist!!! Arcueid for the win!!!

      • MR.KLAC says:

The transformation was great. Especially with Luvia and Rin ranting at the background. Made the it funnier.

I’ve been waiting for Kuro’s arrival since the first season announcement. She’s by far my favorite original character in Prisma Illya. She also marks the point where the yuri gets cranked up to eleven. Illya and Miyu already give strong vibes, but putting an Illya clone with them? Heck yes.

    • skylion says:

OMG, I was howling with laughter watching that transformation scene. Which was hard to pull off, seeing as how I was riding the city bus at the time. It was basically a send up of, “yes, the transformation happens in real time”

      • Di Gi Kazune says:

I believe that first season already hinted it was real time. This however was more amusing as Rin and Luvia were drowning while they were transforming leisurely with the full gamut of fanservice.

    • BlackBriar says:

Especially with Luvia and Rin ranting at the background. Made the it funnier.

If they had enough strength to rant then they could’ve afforded to wait on their transformation. 😉 But those wands have no sense of loyalty. That sinkhole an adequate place to dispose of the bodies? Shows how depraved Sapphire is.

    • Kyokai says:

      menage de trois…

    • thorgriim says:

Haha ya that was a funny scene, the background sounds of Rin and Luvia was great. Though best of all was how Illya was praising how awesome Rin and Luiva were and her face when they fell in the bog.. haha just great.

  4. Wanderer says:

    SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

*coughs* That is to say I am very happy to see this series, and I look forward to the delightfulness that Kuro is going to bring to it.

    • skylion says:

I’m especially anxious to see the quality of voice Chiwa Saito brings to the character. She has Sengougahara’s attitude, but Homura’s jealousy…

      • Di Gi Kazune says:

She will bring over the librarianess of Kokoro.
        The Masachuchucuhsetts of Becky.

And if I am not mistaken… The Christmas Cakeness of ANOTHER Becky. (40 years old…)

      • thorgriim says:

Yes after looking her voice actor up, I totally in the same boat as you, curious to see how she does hehe Can’t wait.. and i wonder how she will act.. personality wise.. 2 Illya”s oh my.

  5. BlackBriar says:

Let the Type-Moon fangasms begin anew! Not really one of my most anticipated this season but this magical girl’s return is enough cause for cheers. Welcome back, Prisma Illya!

The implied yuri stats have gotten higher than I remember. That kiss was so close. Bummer… Good that Miyu is opening up more frequently. Poor girl was acting as though she was suffocating since her general introduction. Hilarious with her trying to pull Luvia out of the sinkhole by tugging on her hair. I imagine it took a considerable amount of time to have it go into those drills.

Illya gave the most badass, attention grabbing fight against Saber in her Archer form last season. So it’s going to be interesting now having her as a complete individual.

    • thorgriim says:

Illya gave the most badass, attention grabbing fight against Saber in her Archer form last season.

hehe Ya that was a badass episode, I noticed it was on Crunchyroll last night so I had to watch it again only this time on the bigscreen with surround sound on hehe, Very epic indeed, so hopefully this season was give us another epicsauce fight!

  6. thorgriim says:

Yep this was one most anticipated shows for me this season, But there are actually a lot of surprising shows this season so my top 10 is very hard to place right now.. we still got time though!

So Yes Like BlackBriar says.. Welcome back, Prisma Illya!

This show has everything I like, Magical girls, Awesome overthetopish fight scenes, pretty artwork, and Cute girls doing cute things! So all this in a nice package. so I can’t wait to see more episodes and see if this one can top its first season.

    • skylion says:

      …eating ice cream…

    • BlackBriar says:

Then I guess it’s even harder for you to create a “Top 5” list, huh? This Summer season is unusually fierce against its reputation of mediocrity.

      • thorgriim says:

Yep pretty much, some reason this season has a lot I like so ya it hard to create a top 5-10 atm hehe. It’s rare for me to find shows that start off strong and I can tell if its going to be a good series just off that alone.

But we all know somewhere they stop being strong and turn ‘ehh ok, It has a good idea for an anime‘ or ‘ehh they tired, it was entertaining at least‘.
