This show’s had a lot more seriousness than I expected, even given the background we had for Funabashi. I do think that the main takeaway from the last couple episodes has been “Satoru’s a kid and needs to work on growing up”. But hopefully that’s what he’ll do. It’s pretty lame the way his aunt is, tho. That’s a pretty evil-stepmother type of character there.

Satoru and Haru may have been uptight brats but they have a rather endearing relationship. Episodes 4 and 5 had a lot of emotional depth due to their interactions. And I feel sorry for Satoru being emotionally bullied as a kid after his grandfather died. His aunt was truly an ugly hearted person where personality is concerned. Serves her right for being denied the right to truly run the shrine.

Satoru and Haru are interesting characters! I like the emotional stuffs with them even though it was super cheesy after Satoru realized that he needed Haru around? Still good stuff! I hope he opens up more to Makoto in the future.

I love this show. Gin is that gruff but lovable (or is it lovable but gruff) uncle sorta character. It will be fun to see how Haru fits in there.

DAAAAWWW, the feels in the current episode. Loving the kawai herald and of course the cuppa-haired boy.
This makes me pause and notice how this hairstyle is becoming an in-thing this year. Along with Satoru, Wamiya from RDG, megane ghost from Meganebu! and Hiro’omi from Kyoukai no Kanata just to name a few.
