First Impressions – Infinite Stratos 2
The international harem league is back!
Infinite Stratos is back after a 2 year break! You know what that means… It’s harem time! Rather than doing the usual post formula, we’ve decided to try for a live-watch of the series this time. So sit back, relax, and enjoy our reactions to the harem to end all harems. Who knows, if this is received well enough, we just might make live-watches a regular thing in seasons to come!

Oh my god this series is finally out and yes this is the Metanorn’s international harem league, but I am sure all the commenters will love to root for their favorite girl and clearly Charles right? So I’m the one who hasn’t seen the first season of IS: Infinite Stratos. Didn’t even start watching it and dropped it, just never felt interested. But I’m always down for a live watch, and this series does have its proponents, so why not give the second season a shot to see what I’ve been missing out on? I’m grateful for my fellow bloggers for helping me out, because this was not the most welcoming of season openers to new viewers. I didn’t quite get what I was expecting, but what was there gave me enough laughs.

It’s kinda great to have Infinite Stratos back in our lives, the best of the worst harem anime. It doesn’t get any dumber than Ichika, and it’s fun to be annoyed at him while arguing who’s Best Girl with the MetaBros. Let’s go!

Woo! Time for some great harem members, and the worst harem lead! Fosh can keep his favorite girl, because she obviously loses out to Houki. But watching this show with these guys was a bunch of fun, and we got back into the story (kinda) of the IS suits and international intrigue!

What is this overwhelming Tag Team and has it really been more than two years since the last season of Infinite Stratos? Time sure flies. As for the favorite girl, I’m torn between Houki and Charlotte. Don’t judge me! I just can’t decide! 😀
Not even halfway through and Ichika’s thick headedness surfaces already. Dude, get a clue as to why all the girls are upset. For a starting episode, it centered mostly on Charlotte and Laura’s outing. Laura was alright in the maid outfit but I couldn’t help remembering Mayo Chiki’s Subaru as Char wore that butler’s outfit. It suits her more than the maid one but both girls are cute in those cat pajamas.
One of the new girls shows up at the end. It’s going to get interesting. The series seems to be focusing on the action now what with Charlotte and Laura defending the café from the robbers and that girl, who I’m sure is Ichika’s sister Chifuyu (That dream he had about her is obviously foreshadowing something), infiltrating that military base. Even more, it looks like people might actually get killed this time.

I think I’m again slightly ahead in the light novels (which are nowhere near as good as DxD), so I’ll try not to spoil too much stuff that wasn’t revealed. But there’s more to Chifuyu than we generally see.

Well, the fan base is interesting. We get to enjoy a bad character because it is just sooooo bad. Sigh.

Hahaha, you misunderstand. I mean it as that kind of sentence is one that could start a feud. And you can rest easy, I’m not interested in Laura. As I said above, I’m torn between Houki and Charlotte.

A lot of Laura’s image problem is her status as Last Girl from the first season. That’s why she seems to have less mindshare. Plus her tsuntsun routine towards Ichika for a while, because she was trying to reckon with Chifuyu. But she definitely made strides this episode, both in cuteness and in understanding.
I just think it’s weird that Charlotte is willing to help Laura towards the same (exclusive) goal that Charlotte has, although Charlotte definitely has a better handle on what an idiot Ichika is (like the “Do you do this on purpose?” lines from the first season).

Perhaps, just perhaps, given her savviness, Char is going for a harem plan ala TLR Darkness? Now that would be… delicious.

Yes. I only watched episode one of the first series, so I didn’t get to Last Girl. I will remedy that sooner rather than later. But from what I have seen here, she is obviously Best Girl.
