When we left things off last week we saw Touma discovering all of Misaka’s secrets related to the clones, Accelerator, the level six shift project and the emotional breakdown of Misaka, but this time we will finally see the first half of the epic battle between Touma and Accelerator so please stick around for something fun!

Accelerator versus Touma round one!
Accelerator-“Is it hot in here or is it just me?” Touma-“I really hate your face right now.”
Touma’s fist of justice in action! Just look at that wind!
Holy plasma bombs, hurricanes and massive dust explosions batman! Yes it is finally time for these two dudes to square off even though I can already tell you that this will be another one of those “Meh I have seen this before.” And to that comment I would agree, but I wanted to see if the animation was changed or not, but I really have no idea if all of these “recap” episodes have been using old animation from Index s1 or if JC Staff did some new artwork? I assume they are using a mixture of old and new animation? Thankfully just like the previous episodes the quality of animation has continued to be amazing! Especially with the fighting scenes between Touma and Accelerator, but of course I think just about everyone watching this season of Railgun S knows the outcome of this battle thanks to a certain magical right hand! So what did you enjoy this time around? Besides the jump in animation I loved the soundtrack playing in the background during the badass moments and emotional stuff with Misaka and her sister, but overall this season has some great voice work for just about every damn character.

End thoughts
Well damn that was a great episode full of kick ass fighting and I have to hand it to Nobuhiko Okamoto for always doing his best voice work for Accelerator! I swear THOSE SCREAMS! I always find it funny that every character that he has voiced in the past seems to have some moment that requires him to scream like crazy starting with Rin from Ao no Exorcist and Daichi from Devil Survivor 2? That and he voices a lot of awesome characters like Knight from Sacred Seven, Io from Acchi Kocchi, Akatsuki from Hagure Yuusha no Estetica and Yumeji from Yumekui Merry! I probably missed a few roles, but yeah I always liked hearing his odd screams or demonic chants like during the build up for the plasma bomb? What the hell was that?! Anyway I don’t really have a lot to say about this episode other than the sisters arc should wrap up with the next episode? Also when I was looking through the old episodes of Index I found it funny that after Touma wins his fight in the Index universe they also had a mini beach arc with all the characters swapping bodies because of some magic, I wonder if that will happen in Railgun S?! Just kidding I think that was Index filler.

Don’t forget the crying and screaming Nobuhiko Okamoto did as Tohru trying to keep his humanity in Shiki. That was epic. 😉 He did similar stuff as Kamisama Doll’s Kyohei Kuga and did some damage as Code: Breaker’s Rei Ogami.

I completely forgot that he was in Shiki but I wasn’t a fan of Rei Ogami from Code Breaker he seemed kind of boring for the most part.

Yep, he was in Shiki and he made an impression and I don’t know what to call it since his character in Shiki was killed and turned by a hot girl. For me, Rei started getting boring halfway through the series.

Every single scene in this ep is new animation; none of it is redrawn, which i think looks good on jc staff because they went through the trouble of recreating that whole scene from the ground up and i hope that bodes well for the sales. They made a slight hiccup though; in the last ep, Toma had a smartphone, which just so happen to magically transform into a flip phone this ep. I noticed toma having a smartphone last week and jokingly mentioned that it was inconsistent within the timeline because toma was rocking a flip-phone at the time. I guess someone noticed that and changed it back to a flip phone last minute…i think they were better off leaving it a smartphone for consistency sake.

I just checked to make sure i wasnt seeing things but I pretty sure im not; those are different modeled phones; they are not the same phones from their respective episodes. I could be mistaken, but the phone he had in ep 14 is a nokia smart phone while this ep’s phone is a nokia flip-phone. Correct me if im wrong on what type of model phone it is but one thing is I know for sure is that those are two completely different phones in those eps.

Accelerator and his gibberish as he was lying on the ground summoning the wind. What was that!? Did Touma punch him so hard he momentarily lost all speech control? But hat off to Touma, he took everything accelerator had and still punched the crap out of him, that’s impressive. Love accelerators reaction, he couldn’t believe it. But Touma is win. Hopefully his final punch on accelerator is an absolute haymaker.

It’s finally here, the long awaited fight. Though it’s been almost 5 years since the original version, it’s still managed to be epic.
Man, sometimes it’s curse being observant enough to compare stuff. What I noticed was that insane and freaky but awesome chanting of Accelerator’s wasn’t there in the Index version, props to Nobuhiko Okamoto for his high pitched voice work and that the plasma was about 5 feet over his head with his arms in the air doing the compression.
Touma has come to pass judgment on evil with his fist! The haters can say what they want but he’s too awesome to deserve any form of negativity and he’s got guts to stand up to the strongest esper when he’s already a wreck. The fist to contact was great. I’d go as far to say that I could almost feel the impact every time. While things are good enough how they are, it would have been really something if Touma was able to give Accelerator the same kind of beating Levi gave Eren in Shingeki no Kyojin.

Indeed Nobuhiko Okamoto for the win! I think he does some great voice work as villains lately and other awesome dudes as well.
Truth! Touma haters can keep hating on him, but I think he is doing great things and it is not like Misaka did NOT try to stop Accelerator because we all know she did her best and Touma is just stepping in to help.

I’ll stick with the A Certain Skirt-flipper spin-off, although the Accelerator anime would have better music, if we’re going off of the tunes they’ve used in the fight scenes when Accelerator shows up.
Well, the fight was interesting, although I spent most of it worried about that dust explosion turning into a real fire. Then again, I guess Japan doesn’t have really serious wildfires like my corner of the world does.
