Foshizzel here bringing you reviews for Date a live three and four! I guess you could say I got a bit lazy? Anyway today I am trying a new experiment with a webcam for my very first real life video; however let me know if you like the change or rather I go back to audio and screencaps instead? I tried to combine the two this time, anyway I hope you enjoy my new approach to video reviews on Metanorn and sorry for the low quality screenshots for episode four…

I was expecting this show to be more about the Bang Bang Pew Pew Clash Clash, but a send up of dating sims is fine, too.
I love how the fate of the world is hinging on how well these people can minimize risk/maximize results;and how the guy that has a smartphone girlfriend is proving to be the least creepy of the bunch.

One thing I am wondering is, will they ever go back to the issue of Shidou magically healing from a bullet wound? 0_o. And will he end up dying again later on and get another do-over?

I thought the whole date sequence sucked. The girl going ga-ga over all the different kinds of food and eating enormous quantities of it is a meme that I tired of very quickly. There have been more than enough animes with that in it already. If you must have it in your anime, think up a twist on it.
Thank God Ep. 4 ended with some excitement and a mystery or I’d have probably dropped this show.

Episode 3: Poor, Shidou. He gets to be alone with Tohka and everyone is barging in with their own advice. The biggest blunder goes to one of the advisors trying to send them to a love hotel. This is not a hentai, you know. And Tohka has quite an appetite for a girl. Either she was starving or has a high metabolism.
Origami got a full mental breakdown shooting Shidou by accident. The girl was a wreck and intense depression and/or suicidal thoughts could be a possibility. Shidou’s revival needs a thorough explanation. His sister said even if he dies, he gets to continue. So I’m guessing he’s somehow linked to that training game he got from her.

Ahahahah ya the love hotel scene cracked me up, but yeah that was kind of strange for Kotori to push her brother into that and AGREED Tohka has a super fast metabolism…
Shidou is a huge mystery right now I mean is he human? Clone? Spirit? I just don’t even know anymore, but yeah I hope we find out the truth about what he really is.

Episode 3 was good, the best bit was defiantly the hotel. And Shidou getting capped, that was a bit different. It was good for origami to have her total moment of clarity, realizing she just killed another living person, proving that maybe deep down she is unsure of herself and killing for revenge
Episode 4 was another good episode, with the introduction of a new spirit. I want a puppet like the one Yoshino had. And the giant rabbit for the angel, kinda reminded me of boob ninjas. But there was plenty in episode 4, from a love triangle to the mysterious ending.

Episode 3 was so damn cute thanks to Tohka’s expressions and reactions to the world around her and YES Kotori’s idea to get Shidou to take Tohka to a love hotel was a bit random…I guess that is her idea of true LOVE? LOL
Episode 4 = YAY NEW CHARACTER who is also voiced by Iori Nomizu from both Kurousagi from Mondaiji and Haruna from Kore wa zombie? How can we go wrong with that? <3

I am really really REALLY glad that the show didn’t go TWGOK and ditch the girls after Shidou seals their powers. I have no idea how he’s actually going to get out of this with Tohka, tho, since he really did ditch her to go on a ‘date’ with Yoshinon. And Tobiichi still thinks that he’s her boyfriend, from his ill-advised ‘practice’ with her earlier. I’m about 100% certain that he won’t pick a girl by the end of the series, but I like the harem forming so far.

I actually wonder what Tobiichi will do at the end, she might cap Shidou again for hurting her. Never a good idea to get involved in crazy stalker chicks. Should have included that in his training. By the end, I’ll place my bets that he may choose one, but it will be a damn hard choice. It will be an interesting ending, especially with the different character personalities and how they might react to this potential situation.

Episode 4: I noticed every time the OP is about to kick off, a narrative concerning the events of the episode starts right before it. Almost like how Kore wa Zombie S2 did except that the narrative was after the OP.
Shidou, Tohka and Origami. An epic love triangle, one where I’m willing to support either one of the girls. But man, when it turns out like that, it’s like a splinter in your mind driving you crazy to make the final decision and there’s no easy way out. One must win and the other must forfeit.
As expected, the harem is unfolding but I don’t really see the Hermit as a candidate for Shidou. Simply put, she just looks like an increasingly moe mascot. How did Tohka find out where he was anyway? Female intuition must be one hell of a sensory ability.
