Winter Anime Catalogue 2013

Welcome to METANORN’s Winter Anime Catalogue of 2013!

WINTERRRRRRR, you are killing me with your coldness already! After many years, I’m finally experiencing a worthy cold weather, which has pushed me to wear at least two layers of clothes. It’s akin to a lull after the exciting fall (oh that line-up!), which would be good. Winter is not known as a strong season (just count the number of 2 to 5 minute anime short releasing this time around). So, I’ll put my snide remarks aside but at least there’s Chihayafuru and Nekomonogatari to look forward to, while Jojo and Shinsekai continue.
It really doesn’t feel like winter until there’s at least a foot of snow outside your house and a new season of anime is there to ring in the festivities. Unfortunately, the winter shows don’t look very impressive at all so it’s become an exercise in choosing which one will suck the least instead of the best one. Oh well. I was treated kindly for Christmas so I shouldn’t be too greedy.
Goodbye fall, you were certainly lovely, winter’s coming in! …Only not really, because it’s always summer here in Singapore :c It’s so sad because I actually love cold weather. It’s even sadder that the winter signals the start of junior college, and the prospect of becoming even busier is daunting. Luckily I’ll always have anime to give me a weekly dose of fun and relaxation. Winter seems interesting at this point, I’m looking forward to Amnesia! I always have really high expectations for adaptations of otome games for whatever reason, even despite past *cougharcanacough* experiences because of all the romance and eye candy. Aaanyway, if things go wrong, I’ll still have beloved Shinsekai Yori to keep me entertained, so all’s well :3
Amazingly, I have even more spare time this season than the last, but on the other hand, I’m not really looking forward to much upcoming this season. Of course, there are exceptions (of course I’m looking forward to Chihayafuru and Amnesia) but really, Zetsuen no Tempest is where it’s at for me at the moment. We’ll see how the season goes and if I don’t have much to do, maybe I’ll FINALLY finish some of the otome game reviews I have half written. …Maybe.
Like last season I’m going to be taking it easy as far as the number of shows I’m watching, but the few I do intend to watch I’m greatly looking forward to. Three idol themed shows? What could be better! There’s also Chihayafuru which I’m hyped up for and Yama no Susume that piqued my interest. Anyway, I’ll be back to blogging regularly again so see you around!
I’m not too excited for winter because I ended up doing more things than the ones I planned to. I kind of stop getting excited for winter season anime because the list looks weak to me. Maybe I won’t watch lots of the new anime and continue with my Code Geass and Victory Gundam instead… (I know I’ll still end up watching lots of things). But like lvlln said, the continuation of the previous season’s 2 cour anime might entertain us this winter.
See ya later fall time to make room for winter to roll on through bringing us some cold weather, but it also brings out lots of new anime! I am looking forward to most of the comedies and a few more things this season even though it looks rather weak…
We go through this every 3 months, so I’ll make it short. I’m one of those who prefers not even to try to predict what will be good before a season begins. Certain studios or franchises will tend to pique my interest, but my method is just to check out 1st episodes of almost everything that has people talking, and pare my list from there. That said, winter 2012 is guaranteed to be awesome if only for the continuation of current season’s shows such as Shinsekai Yori, Pycho-Pass, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and (unexpectedly) Girls und Panzer. It will also feature the new series Vividred Operation, which could be in the same vein, given that it has the same director as Strike Witches.

As they say, better late than never. With the holidays season and most of us neck-deep in RL and studies, the compilation took its sweet time. However, we are done and this time we have made it compact yet comprehensive enough for you to read in one go rather than spend an hour scrolling up and down. Though, you might still just read on with

>> A scream of DIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOO like a Jojo-tard~ :3
