Kana Hanazawa virus as a mouretsu pirate!?
Now this was a tricky one to think about because it covers a lot of random things that the Metanorn Team came up with! Like best Kana Hanazawa and Jun Fukuyama character of 2012, those two definitely did a lot of different types of roles this year. So take a look at this oddball list of interesting and fun topics.

Shows that are acceptable for nomination of the anime year 2012 are from Winter ’12 to Fall ’12 anime series. This does not include animes that will continue on into the Winter ’13 season that are 20+ episodes.

Psycho-Pass‘s Akane is my favorite, but alas, that show doesn’t qualify. So by default I’d have to go with Nadeko Sengoku from Nisemonogatari. I want to play Life with her.
Best FukuJun Character
Misaki Yata uses magic fire powers to make a skateboard stick to his feet in K.
Moe Loli Princess
Shinobu Oshino from Nisemonogatari was my favorite. Maaya Sakamoto’s voice never gets tiring, and she really brought a lot of life into this fun character. Louise from the worthy final season of the original Shana clone, The Familiar of Zero, gets a spot by default.
The Hawt Bishie
Tomokazu Sugita’s Yamada from Tsuritama must surely count as one? What a great character. I guess Nisemonogatari‘s Koyomi Araragi deserves a nod. Acchi Kocchi‘s Io Otonashi is kind of an idealized bishie.
That Smexy Bishoujo
This is a heavyweight category, but my perhaps unconventional pick would be Shinobu Wakamiya from Chihayafuru. She was hot kicking people’s asses in Karuta, even if she did let herself go a bit toward the end there. I’m very much looking forward to seeing her return next season. Other picks would be Koko Hekmatyar from Jormungand, Eru Chitanda from Hyouka, and Shinka Nibutani from Chuunibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai. Also, the teenaged Shinobu Oshino from Nisemonogatari was quite the beauty.
Best Weapon
The Tank from Girls und Panzer. Just that whole category of weapon/vehicles. Dual Swords from Sword Art Online because it allows you to defy the very game engine upon which the world lies. That’s sort of like defying god. Highway Turnpike from Nisemonogatari. Scissors in Mysterious Girlfriend X. Black Rock Shooter’s badass Rock Cannon from Black Rock Shooter. That talking sword from The Familiar of Zero F for basically willing himself back to life for the finale. Kuroh’s extending arm thing from K. How useful would that be for everyday life?

Moe Loli Princess: The Year 2012, The Ancient Mayan Propehcy was weakened by the Year of the Loli. I would place Shinobu Oshino as the Queen, with the Serenity Princesses, Gruier and Grunhilde as shared title holders. But man, if this year don’t half make you go Hnnnnnng. Sonata from AKB0048 deserves an honorable mention.
Hawt Bishie : Arata Wataya. Shy, skilled, focused. Looks good in glasses, and was a cute shota to boot.
That Smexy Bishoujo : Nibutani Shinka. She could chuuni my byou any time she pleases…..
Best Weapon: Unlimited Rulebook. I said with a posed look.
