Robotics;Notes – 10
Airi-“There is a high chance of hot yuri action today.” Kai-“Awesome! Wait between who!?”
Welcome back to another exciting episode of Robotic;Notes! So last time we watched Aki, Junna and Subaru hang out together at a local festival while Frau and Kai tried their best to catch more Kill Ballad cheaters. However, the main event was the failed Gun Pro 1 experiment… So, what will Aki try this week?! I can’t wait to find out and this time you can hear me, Jrow and a guest appearance by Amuro from Anivision on our mini-talk on Robotic Notes~

Beware of raining monopoles
Kai-“So, what is this thing anyway?” Subaru-“Dude…I think its a pokemon or something!”
Aki activates her awesome air plane mode!
Something very interesting and random happened at the start of this episode, resulting in an odd brown rock falling from the sky or as Airi called it a monopole, but what is a monopole anyway? Subaru said it is basically a special magnet with only one magnetic pole like one north-pole or one south-pole and after checking some things online I think that stone is actually called a Lodestone. So, now that we cleared that up, what can the robotics club do with the monopole anyway? I know Subaru and Aki think it could be used as a power source and that is exciting because a normal engine is not going to cut it for the Gunpro 1; however, they need more stones to fall from the sky before they can attempt to harness the power of the monopole.
Talented club members
Frau-“Lulz you are a total noob sexy-glasses-kun.” Junna-“Why do I hang out with these people…”
Subaru-“S..s.s..sexy!? EHHHHHHHHHH!!” Kai-“Dude, I think she wants you.”
So, the Gunpro 1 was a failed experiment and for some reason Subaru decided to create a new layout for a possible new machine, but that required Aki to swallow her pride and finally go to JAXA and ask for their help. However, she is not giving up on the Gunpro 1 just yet and I fully expect her to complete it one day! So, what is the next machine the robotics club plans on making? The Gunpro 2! Yeah I know so original right? I love how the club is finally acting like a real club because hey they are involving everyone in this new build. Also I find it very cool how each member has something special to contribute to this new project. But I have to wonder what kind of skill does Junna bring to the club? Because I originally thought she was this amazing karate expert and Frau could do some motion capture thing with her allowing her to add more fighting moves to the robot. That is until I remembered she isn’t very good at karate. Then again so what if Junna doesn’t specialize in anything robotics, she can always use her amazing moe powers to get the club more sponsorship or she can just become the club mascot? I kind of like that idea…
Extra robots
Aki’s moe ninja power level is off the charts!
Aki is a true master of the rare sleep ninjitsu.
Frau-“Hey baby how about we do some special karate at my place?” Junna-“EHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
Frau ships with anything and everything I swear.
I think this is the first all robots themed episode since the start of the series and it sure was exciting. But I noticed Subaru almost took center-stage this week because he was pushing Aki to consider building a new machine. Also he helped with the presentation at JAXA? That was kind of a surprise to me but I think it’s clear to everyone that he really does love robots. So what else? Oh right we had that whole sci-fi twist as Amuro mentioned on the recording with the random monopole falling from the sky. That gets me excited because it introduces us to alternative power sources for the Gunpro 1 or the Gunpro 2, but we need more monopoles in the future. I laughed when Aki told Kai to make it rain monopoles and his “What do you think I am a shaman?”. Yes Kai you are a video game wizard…or the club could sell that monopole to some museum for extra cash. Other than that nothing really stood out to me, but I loved the fact that Frau is not in her room anymore. We have to see how long that lasts before she goes back into hiding.

Aki-“Screw the rules we have awesome moe powers bitches!” Kai-“WOOOOOOO….”
Time to build the Gunpro 2!

Aki is maturing. She’s realized it’s best for the club to start over with a new robot in order to secure funding from JAXA. So for the good of everybody she’s putting her dream of finishing GunPro 1 on hold, but is not giving up on it.
I’m sure the monopole (probably with more of them) is going to play a role later in powering either GunPro 1 or 2.
Isn’t Junna the granddaughter of the old guy who runs the shop where they’ve been getting equipment to use in building GunPro 1? If so, what she brings to the club is the fact that they’ve been able to get equipment from him either free or on credit.

I thought the point of Junna’s grandfather finally noticing her at the club was to dispel the idea that she’s been a key to them getting more resources for free or credit. Now, not that Junna brings much more to the table from a technical standpoint, so far she’s been more of a mascot character. But she’s also had an effect on Kai from a curiosity standpoint.

Yeah I can agree with that on Aki and I am really happy that she is going to finally work with JAXA and build a new machine, but at the same time she still has high hopes for the future of the Gunpro 1!
Eventually when they find enough monopoles they can throw them together and power one of the two robots~
Yep! She is his granddaughter…now that you reminded me about her relation with him I could see him assisting the robotics club as a way to get closer to her? I know she doesn’t really like being around him xD

Fosh, a lodestone is really just a normal magnet, it’s just a naturally occurring rock / ore that has a very high natural magnetism. Like all other magnets that we know of, it has both poles, like Subaru was talking about.
The monopole is a theoretical construct that, as was said, is only a single pole of the magnet. With any two normal magnets, there will be an orientation where they repel, and an orientation where they attract. But with any two monopoles, there would only be attraction (if they are opposite poles) or repulsion (if they are similar poles). Orientation would not matter, and you could never make them have the other behavior.

Hahaha yeah I suppose you are right about that…guess I looked to deep into the whole monopole thing, but thanks for the info <3

Two posts of the same anime on the Metanorn list. You don’t see that every day. I’m glad Aki finally decided to let go of her childish notions and pride and accepted the reality of things while still chasing her dream. Up until the test run last episode, you could say she was living in the past.
Regarding that fallen monopole. Since it gives off magnetic energy, I speculate that it has something to do with the solar flares that are usually talked about. A solar flare is basically a magnetic pulse that knocks out electronics so there lies the probable connection and Sister Centipede is always monitoring the weather.
For someone who appears to not care about the Robotics Club, Subaru sure is putting some effort into it with his layouts, especially giving Aki new hope by suggesting Nae’s robot project. If he didn’t care, he would’ve quit already. I was amazed with his organized presentation to Nae explaining the flaws and benefits. After this, he should just drop the tsundere front. With enough motivation and good luck, they’ll make it but I’m skeptical as to what Junna can actually bring to table other than being a sponsor mascot because the others have something unique to them.
By the way, they should all keep their eyes on Frau. She’s unpredictable, hard to read her next mood swings and think she’s semi conscious most of the time. For example: Her BL outburst last episode and sniffing Junna like an obsessed stalker in this one. “Virgin Master Race”? LOL. Whenever someone tries to embarrass the other one by calling them a virgin, it usually means they are one themselves. That’s indirectly telling someone what you don’t want them to know.

Well, also remember that solar flares can associate with coronal mass ejections which actually launch material from the sun.
I’m curious as to what the connection is between the existence of monopoles at the south pole of the sun and the impending phase change of the sun, whether they’ve got some theoretical science behind that mechanism as well.
I think Junna’s contribution is going to continue to be something like she did before. She’ll have some knowledge of rumor or urban legend like Kagame Kagame that ends up tying things together. So basically, a plot device and a mascot.
POWUH: Meta Team and PreCure Mastah with 9203 comments
Oooh so the rock might be from the sun itself? That might be interesting…yeah I dunno what they plan on doing with the whole monopole thing yet, but I think the are going for a bit of both? Fake science and a bit of real science? I don’t mind to much as long as they don’t get crazy! Aka “aliens” or something with time travel >.< Aye Junna is a good plot device/mascot/occult fan and she is related to that old mechanic guy which might come in handy for any future robot builds~

Hahaha well I have to thank Jrow for his quick editing skills on the recording! He is such a boss, but yeah Aki is getting over her own pride and finally sees the positives with having a full club of talented members <3
I think you are onto something with the solar flares and the sudden appearance of the monopole! I can't wait to see what happens when they find two or even three.
I am quite happy with Subaru because he is finally showing interest in the Gunpro projects that Aki is so excited about, but I would credit that to hanging around with the others that might be causing him to open up and get comfortable chatting about robots? Either way I am happy!
Oh Frau why are you so damn amazing? Because she is the best ever! Frau x robotics club FOREVER <3

The thing I didn’t get about the monopole is, did they just leave it laying in the grass, or did someone put it somewhere safe?
POWUH: and Vampire Lover with 11746 comments
They probably had it covered up somehow to hide it since they can’t get close enough without getting electrocuted.
POWUH: Meta Team and Spammy Tamer with 7115 comments
I’d imagine they picked it up with something, although they did just kind of drop the whole thing for a while. And they *were* poking it with a stick.
I’m trying to think of how a monopole would really interact with other materials. The most obvious thing would be that it would try to line up everything around it by the magnetic properties of every molecule or item. This could cause some weird behaviors in things with liquid or semi-solid properties. I think the ‘electricity shocking’ stuff was not correct, unless there was some other property to the material. But hey, it’s anime.
POWUH: Meta Team and PreCure Mastah with 9203 comments
Yeah in the end we have to look at it as “anime science”
POWUH: and Vampire Lover with 11746 comments
Anime science is the best kind out there. If given the chance, I’d choose that over reality science any day.

They probably advertise for it on late nite blocks. Just a matter of staying awake long enough.
Personally, I want Incubator Science. Cause it’s entropy but it’s not entropy. But I can make Magical Girls…..
POWUH: Meta Team and PreCure Mastah with 9203 comments
I thought the same thing! I was like wait…did they leave the monopole outside!?
POWUH: and Vampire Lover with 11746 comments
No way they would leave a discovery like that out in the open. Finders keepers.

I was actually thinking about dropping this show. I am glad I didn’t. We are starting to see a very intiquing story develop. Lovin’ it.
All my Frau’s….

It’s a good thing you didn’t drop it. You would’ve missed out on an interesting story. I learned that lesson the hard way when I passed up the chance to see Steins;Gate.
