Are you prepared for your weekly dose of crazy fun? For a series I originally planned on skipping it sure has been addictive and hilarious every time! We start our random incest adventure this week with Akito hanging out and having some afternoon tea with Ginbei in her bedroom; however Gin feels that Akito doesn’t really see her as a girl because they are just normal childhood friends? Sad but true there Gin! The childhood friend character rarely wins in the end, at least he complimented that Gin looked cute in her outfit, but spilling tea on her was a seriously bad move which resulted in a giant slap to his face. After the tea incident with Gin our main dude was roped into helping Anastasia with her room again. That can only mean one thing right? Let the trolling or teasing of Akito start.
After the long winded dialog explosion it ends with Anastasia on top of Akito, but he touched her and she practically flew across the room due to high levels of embarrassment! Oh and the whole “playing with the stuffed animals” was wow…just…what and bananas don’t forget the bananas…so how can we possibly top all of that? I don’t know how about all the girls taking a bath together which involved the usual breast groping and breast size comparisons? Also we got the confirmation that Arashi actually likes girls and guys? I think that is kind of rare in anime or are there other characters like her out there? I think a close second would be Kanade Suzutsuki from Mayo chiki and third maybe Shizuku Sangou from Kampfer? But feel free to let me know of others! So yeah good times this week~

That one small line, filled with such emotion
That was funny how Sorata was being deep and thoughtful.
If Sorata’s gonna pursue his goal of making video games, he’ll achieve it by working hard while in the crazy confines of Sakurasou. His decision to stay after finding out the details of Mashiro’s manga being withdrawn is one that makes it feel like such a big point of the series… and it’s only episode 4! It feels like so much has happened in such a short time because of how invested I’ve become in the characters.
When I watched ToraDora just earlier this year, I was thinking about all the characters and the worries they’re dealing with, the people they like, etc. Sometimes, I’ll imagine myself trying to explain a series to someone who hasn’t seen it or just doesn’t even watch anime, and in doing so I hit a moment where I say to myself, “damn, I really like this series.” I did this while the Tanabata wishes we’re being read as the 2 girls’s wishes were directed toward their particular male of interest. Sorata staying at Sakurasou and his desire to change and find something to do with his life, Jin having a bit of a possessive feeling toward Misaki (no kids touching Misaki’s boobs, now…) even though he feels undeserving of her; there’s already a considerable amount of detail to use with these characters for the remaining 20 episodes.

Mikan versus Yami! Aka yuri-tastic fighting
Mikan and Yami have a strange bonding experience…
Continuing the crazy adventures of princess Momo this week we deal with random assassins named Azenda the Tyrant and a bit of story mode with Golden Darkness aka Yami oh and a bit of Mikan caught in the middle? I would call this more of a plot driven episode rather than ecchi, but of course we have plenty of pantsu shots and breast groping provided by Risa Momioka and Haruna Sairenji which is always expected from the To LOVE RU universe. So what was the main topic again? Oh right! Half of the episode followed Yami and Mikan’s special friendship and you can totally ship them together as a yuri couple. This week also showed off some decent action scenes thanks to Azenda mind controlling Mikan who was forced to fight Yami and do other ecchi things to her like play with her breasts, but of course things like that do not last long thanks to Momo arriving to save the day with her plant power! Also her expression in that scene was wonderful even if it went a bit yandere on us? Oh and then there was Mea who was so extremely disappointed with Yami because she wanted to see the true side of her sister aka the cold blooded assassin. Other than the action, yuri and random pantsu shots this was an entertaining and we got to see Yami smile not once but twice for some nice Hnngggg moments, next week we focus on Mea and Nana’s relationship.

OniAi has really pulled some great humor back into the show. For one that was looking really bad in ep 2, it’s had two great episodes, maybe not coincidentally because they’re focusing on Ana. The Ana-doll was a nice twist on the ‘Ana means hole” joke. And the banana dream card (and end card) was just over the top.
Ginbei seems like kind of a bore, tho. I don’t know what she can bring to the show unless she tries to ramp it up like the other three (Akiko and Ana definitely do, and Arashi sure seems like she will). The furo scene was really great this episode, and I liked the censoring with no sunbeam-chan or shadow-kun, or even without the freaky nipple-less boobs like Who is Imouto. It didn’t knock you out of the show nearly as much.

Ginbei I agree is kind of dull compared to the rest of the cast and I suppose she is there for the fans of quiet girls? I keep waiting for SOMETHING to happen, but ah well the bath scene stuff was more yuri than anything and LOL soap censors are way better than sunbeam-chan or shadow-kun getting in the way.

Gin is Win. I need you and everyone to remember that. This episode started her off in the “friend zone”. This is a low point for her character, I agree. But she has so much to rise up too. All of the clues the MC’s character indicates that he wants someone less complicated. Gin is that girl. She just has too show how she feels. She will capture his heart.

Same here. I think it’s unavoidable they get compared, and the longer that Sakurasou can stay with Toradora in these comparisons (of quality), the better. The story is obviously not the same, but the magic is similar, that feeling of being drawn completely into the screen while the story unfolds in front of you.
If there’s one thing I’d wish about Toradora, it would have been for less spinning out, less ‘get close and then pull back’ on the parts of Ryuuji and Taiga. But then I don’t know if it would have worked so well. And those two moments at the end of the series, that it all falls towards: Taiga grabbing Ryuuji’s hand, turning, and running; and of course, “mou ichido…” (just thinking about that scene sends a thrill up my spine!). It’s almost too much to hope for that this show has any moments like that, but inside me, that hope is there.

To Love-Ru Darkness – 04: A good balance of yuri and action. This week has done To Love-Ru justice. More manga comparisons to help us bear the burden of putting up with these censors. About mangas, Fosh, did you take a look at the mentioned last time? If you did, I bet you found it really funny and the leads do look a lot like Rito and Momo.
Azenda didn’t do it for me. She was annoying. Her character was over the top. Guess it comes with the territory when you have over-inflated ego. Yami did the right thing knocking her down a few pegs. Having Mikan getting involved by fighting and messing around with Yami is low and she’s only getting arrested. Her punishment must be more severe.
Mea isn’t liking Yami’s personality changes. She’ll probably use some trick to seperate her from everyone else.
Momo is really selfless and she can be extremely violent if anyone mistreats her friends. Flowers that spit acid is crossing the line into yandere territoy.

I just want to say that I support Momo’s concept of a Harem ending 110%. “All the girls get the boy” is completely acceptable to me.
Aside: Do people have a different definition of yandere than I do? Or do I just understand it wrong? “You try to hurt my friends, I hurt you” (Momo’s attitude here) to me is distinctly different from yandere, which I thought was completely rooted in “If I can’t have my beloved, NOBODY can! *slasher grin*” (with the result that either the beloved is in danger, or the competitors are in mortal danger). But people last season were saying that Chisato in KoiChoco was yandere (even though she didn’t threaten anyone, ever, at all) and now Momo? It seems to be a definitional break, and to my mind overinflates the brokenness of people when it’s misapplied.

No, I think the definition is still the same. It’s that most of the time, even though being mischievious, Momo is nice and easy going but she can also get extremely violent in a pinch as if being nice was just a mask. She values her friends, they’re important to her so if they’re threatened in any way, she’ll will cause serious damage. Same as Mirai Nikki’s Yuno. Yukiteru is precious to her and if anything happens to him, she will start killing people.

OniAi has me wondering if I should have watched WHO IS IMOUTO last season. So damn funny every episode. Anastasia is an excellent deadpan sadist, even if her facade does break when push comes to shove. Minori Chihara is doing a fine job with the voice, reminiscent of Nagato Yuki or the youngest Minami sister. I’m also liking Eri Kitamura as the eyepatch girl. She’s so bold and confident, and I loved listening to her in the bath scene.
Definitely one of the funniest trashy shows I’ve seen.

OniAi is stomping the heck out of Who is Imouto?, so much so that there’s no comparison. While Imouto was frustratingly dumb and had giant plot holes, OniAi doesn’t bother with that overall story stuff, and just throws the funny at you. As disappointing as watching Imouto was while it was airing, I can’t begin to think how much worse it would look if you’re comparing it to OniAi.

Even though Akiko should be the top favorite girl for those watching the anime, I’m struggling more between Anastasia and Arashi. They’re the funniest girls here followed by Akiko. I’ve noticed this is the third straight anime produced by SILVER LINK that Eri Kitamura has given her voice to. She must have really gotten friendly with the studio. The first two animes were C³: Cube x Cursed x Curious (Kirika Ueno) and Tasogare Otome x Amnesia (Kirie Kanoe).

OniiAi – 04: OniiAi continues to be good entertainment each week.
Ginbei is trying to be interesting but she is still last on my favorites list with the girls. She’s just so plain that there’s hardly any appeal to her.
Anastasia is still funny as ever with her perverted implications. And that fantasy with her and the bananas, I don’t know exactly who imagined it but whoever did has watched a lot of hentai. I’m going to go with Akito. No matter how many times the girls try to twist something perverted into something subtle, he catches on pretty quickly.
The second half was the best. Nothing outdoes the bath scene. They could have added Seraphim or Saeko but Arashi more than makes up for the absence. She’s my top favorite now. Akiko’s reasons for not wanting a group bath was hilarious and I didn’t realize Arashi swings both ways, which is somehow really nice to hear. But on the other hand, Akiko is still incestuous so it’s a perfect match up for opposition. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, taboo for taboo. And after watching the whole bath scene with everyone rubbing up on Ginbei, it wouldn’t surprise me if they were all bisexual.

There was so much yuri in the bath scene that there was danger of an epic nosebleed. Nothing was held back and it was all practically uncensored (if you pay mind to the soap covering the private parts).
Arashi is the most interesting now that we know she’s bisexual because she’s dynamic. When it comes to women she is obviously the dominant one. While she can also be dominant with Akito, she has stated in the earlier episodes that she wouldn’t mind be submissive to him if that’s what he wanted. Not only is she bisexual but she’s at the same time a sadist and a masochist.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo – 04: Huh? Remaining 20 episodes? I understood that it was only 12 episodes. Since the total is 12 episodes, I wonder if it will be divided into 4 episode arcs. Like Highway mentioned, they could pass for OVAs.
The show follows its genres to a T with comedy, drama and romance. There was a lot of it during the interactions of Mashiro and Sorata. With the place being a total loony bin and everyone seemingly enjoying Sorata’s personal issues, he might find enough inspiration to make his video games as Mashiro does for her mangas. Since the characters in her manga are based on her and Sorata relationship, wouldn’t her switching the roles of the characters fall under the gender bender genre?

Finally watched the Upotte! OVA. Did L-chan always have huge boobs? That sure wasn’t a focus during the series. And I don’t think they could have bent over more often if the whole show was “Toe Touches with Funco and Company.” The way the show was going, I was expecting, after we saw all their bikinis up on the line, for them to just be wandering around cooking naked. But they managed to save that for the Hot Puddle they found.
Otherwise, typical one-off OVA.
