Rias and the lovely ladies of DxD join this edition of MetaFap
ECCHI IN THE NEWS w/ Jrow: A lot of ecchi announcements recently.
Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls will be getting a 2nd season. I really enjoyed the series, enough so to buy the BD from Sentai when it released last August. Aside from quality ecchi, the show’s artistic style was really good and it’s use of censorship during the TV airing fit right in with the theme of the show.
Highschool DxD will also be getting a 2nd season. DxD is one of those animes that, if you stuck with it, you saw that the series could be some fun to watch. A nice example of why would be in the bonus episode 13 which is just a scroll down away.
Maken-Ki! will also be getting more anime, though it’s unclear if that means a 2nd season, OVA/OAD, etc. I personally did not enjoy Maken-Ki’s premiere episode, but the images float all around the ‘net and there is some good to be seen.
Now back to regularly scheduled faptastic programming…

lvlln // If I hadn’t given up on it already, I would find Campione! very frustrating. It displays flashes of brilliance that indicate that it knows how to make a fun action show, and then it does the exact opposite of that for 90% of the time. Moments in the fight between Godou and Perseus were genuinely well done – the animated fisticuffs in particular – but every time it threatened to trip onto greatness, it had to make the exact same mistakes it’s been making since the start. Whether it be stopping the action to continue the boring mythology talk (Godou seems to be able to summarize volumes and volumes’ worth of information he gets via kisses in just a few sentences – raising the question, why couldn’t Liliana summarize it for him?) or Godou pulling another video game Campione power (the Camel being obviously modeled after low-health bonuses like Limit Breaks in Final Fantasy or the Unlabored Flawlessness in Ninja Gaiden), SOMETHING was always there to bring the flow to a screeching halt. And don’t get me started with the sword clashing scene, which was just a lazy equivalent of a Kamehameha battle from Dragon Ball (see the finale of A Certain Scientific Railgun for another egregious example – a rail gun inexplicably being able to accelerate its projectile after it’s left its rails, just so that Misaka could have a power level battle against a mecha).
I wrote last week that Campione had to go big or go home. It certainly tried with that kiss scene, extending it far longer than necessary while Perseus presumably fiddled with his thumbs. But there just wasn’t any passion in that scene, which was a problem. Even when it’s for necessity instead of love, such scenes can be emotional – look at Fate/stay night – but with Liliana’s tsundere act played completely straight, they were just going through the motions. I know it’s somewhat of a cultural thing, but 1. It’s the 21st century, and it’s just a kiss; grow up, and 2. I’m pretty sure Liliana isn’t Japanese. All the forced drama over what Liliana herself acknowledges is just a CPR variant is not cute or endearing and is no better than the crap we see in Jun Maeda’s works.
3 episodes remain, giving plenty of time for another arc. I just hope the next one is more lighthearted harem comedy. Because even if that hasn’t been great, seeing Godou take a fastball to the nuts is infinitely more entertaining than seeing him pull a giant boar out of his ass.

Jrow // First, the music in a couple spots this episode was pretty bad. The opening montage was particularly not fitting for the scene in question.
Secondly, I must give credit to an anime that has its main female character go an entire episode topless. I did knock on the show last week for just how common it was for Lisara’s nipples to be on screen, but there’s something fun about watching a girl go as such for an entire episode without a single care for covering up or in Lisara’s case reforming her battle dress.

Fosh // Welcome back to more MetaFap here on Metanorn and every week I am left to laugh and face-palming my way through THIS ANIME! SERIOUSLY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! So last time good old MC-kun had to fight the student council randomly during their special exam and Miu got kidnapped by that other guy with the lame ass name. Now this week was actually decent in terms of the fighting which is what I wanted to see in the first place, but was it amazing? HELL NO! IT WAS TERRIBLE! First off did they even really fight? I swear Akatsuki and Phil spent a good portion of the entire episode talking to each other over and over again…and sure I know why because Miu is technically a demon and she must be destroyed according to Phil! Speaking of Miu did she really have to strip down to nothing to keep the other guy alive? Then again this is an ecchi series and we are bound to have a few moments of random naked fun; however in the end Phil returned and powered up! I bet money he turns out to be a demon just like Miu.

Issei is suddenly a-ok with small breasts
Jrow // With excitement for the season 2 announcement comes a bonus episode doing what ecchi bonuses do with frequency – come up with some absurd comedic scenario in which girls are groped and their clothes being shredded. This time, I’m not exactly against bad guy Maverick Demon’s goals. A booby fruit that enhances girl’s breast sizes, and a process that surely is more natural than getting surgically cut up. If such a fruit existed in our world, women across the world would want some of them apples for their apples and men would be paying top dollar for their girlfriend to gain gravity-defying breasts. Maybe if Asia took a bite she’d be much closer in the Rias/Asia rivalry for Issei’s affection.
So is the nudity enjoyable? It’s nudity, so duh… especially when Akeno gets a rare chance for exposure. Is it funny? There’s a couple laughs with Issei (and Koneko) in the battle scene, especially when you compare him to the way Dakara’s Ryosuke is, far more of a gentlemen than Issei can ever be.

Karakuri // Hold on here. You mean to tell me that there is actually a real imouto?! After so many troll imouto, my skepticism keeps coming back even with all of the proof. The voice seems to fit the anonymous calls (not that she had anything to do with those; it’s probably the producers being too lazy to hire a new seiyuu) and Yuzurina even took over the mystery girl’s spot in the OP. …Now she WAS with the guy who was trying to sabotage his family business when her character was introduced, but the DNA test proved positive and Sugara hasn’t said anything, so I guess I have to accept that she’s the real thing. At least with the sister issue at rest, Shougo might finally choose someone to make an OTP with…? The chances of that seem higher to me since this is based off a light novel (which would want to make some sort of conclusive ending as opposed to a game where it’s up to the player and people get butthurt if it’s not their favourite), but Shougo seems to be suffering from indecisiveness for the 3824th time this anime. I assume next episode will be the final one for this season (assuming that this even gets another one), so I’m sure they’ll leave us with something non-conclusive in case this magically gets enough attention for a second season.

Campione: Actually, Godou and Liliana kissed before they fought Perseus, not during the fight. And on a park nonetheless. The people in there were looking at them when they got intense. I admit it was pretty stupid to have them kiss in the middle of the fight.
And well, the Camel really was kind of pulled out of nowhere. But the good news(sort of) is that there’s only one more Authority of Godou that he hasn’t shown yet so we’ll get one more instance where he pulls out something. He has 10 and he’s shown 9 so far with the addition of the Camel.
Oh and in the novels, it was Doni who killed Perseus, not Athena. But Doni didn’t get his powers because he cheated on killing a god so the goddess Pandora didn’t grant him her blessing.
Imouto: The DNA test is rigged, I can feel it. That woman who did the DNA test is suspicious, along with the new, or supposedly, real imouto. Plus, the witch sempai didn’t react to the new girl since she said she knows the identity of the real imouto. But ah, trying to make sense of this show is just me trying to make this more enjoyable for what it’s worth.
Konoe getting tickled is just misleading but it still gave me a boner. Ishihara Kaori’s voice is just sexy.

I recall the sequence of events being that Perseus hit Godou into a building, and it was inside the building that he and Liliana finally kissed. I don’t recall there being a park or people watching.

Hmm, I really liked High School DxD, but was ultimately disappointed with the series. I’m finding that I enjoy the ramp up to the story in Boku H a lot more than I enjoyed the final story in DxD. It felt like the first story in DxD was better (Issei learning of his powers, and fighting Reynalle to save Asia) and then the filler stories in the middle were somewhat fun, but then the last few episodes were a bit of a letdown. Maybe some of it was the same thing the SAO folks are going through, as I actually read the LN translation for the end of the story before the show got to it, but most of it was that I just ended up not caring for the pacing of the fighting, especially the end fight with Raiser.
Plus, I like Ryousuke as a character a lot better than Issei, and I like the relationship progress between Ryousuke and Lisara as they both realize how much they care for the other. Maybe it’s just that I like OTP shows better than straight open-end harem shows.
Plus, the boobs are better in Boku H. DxD they tended to get hangy and pointy (same problem Sekirei has).

Imouto?: I’m with belatkuro – the test is rigged, and that lady working for the Mikadono Group that he’s getting the tests through is in on it. Every week, we get supposedly let off the hook, and every week after that is back on the hook. This show will never pick a girl, will never let us know who the imouto actually is. He’s going to marry her, just because the story dicks around like that.
Campione: The Power of Love! saves Godou from Liliana being possessed. Riiiiiiight. I hope the 4th girl is better, because we’ve got Erica’s overbearing know-it-all-ism, Liliana’s overwrought tsunderity, and Yuri’s absolute power of helplessness. Maybe if you mixed them all together to find something in the middle, it’d be a girl I could stand. And if she looked like Erica.

Boku H: I actually thought this episode was more annoying because of topless Lisara than the last one. While I’ll admit that it’s certainly different to go the whole episode without putting any clothes on, I dunno, it just felt much more exploitative than the previous episodes had been.
I do like the story, and I actually liked that rock music at the beginning. I also really liked that alternate history thing with Lisara and Ryousuke. I thought it was really a sweet story, even if it was a total cliche.
And I went with the fully-clothed stitch. 🙂

Campione! — 10: Damn Godou for scoring so many kisses from hot chicks. He even got two from Athena.
Now that Liliana is an official member of the harem, it’s hard for me to decide who I like more: Her or Erica. Each of them have good traits in their own way.
The fight between Godou and Perseus was a bit entertaining but what I wish was they could have shown us exactly what Athena did to Perseus instead of just their shadows. That was half way satisfaction.

Thanks for the gesture, Jrow but the memory size is just too big and I have most of the High School DxD episodes. I’ve since found some anime video download sites that have smaller memory size but good quality as a show of gratitude: Cyber12, Anime Sensei, Anime 4 PSP and realityLAPSE.
The first two are free but you’d have to register up for the others to access downloads. I mostly rely Cyber12 as a primary but go to the others if they have a video that Cyber12 doesn’t.

Those sites are fine since you brought up the memory size issue. I don’t know if you know, but just to make sure, you don’t have to download the whole batch to get the ep you want. You can uncheck episodes you don’t want in torrent properties so you could get just ep. 13.

Frankly, I find Godou’s harem to be utterly boring, but among them I’d go with Erica, because she’s pure wish fulfillment versus Liliana who is generic tsundere and Yuri who is generic chaste girl. I do prefer Liliana’s design and voice, though – her personality is just aggravating.

Doesn’t that last line apply to all of them, tho? If you were making a ‘perfect’ girl out of them, for me it would be Erica with her controlling nature and knowitallism turned down from, say, the 9 she is now to more of a 6. I still love her character design, much more than Liliana’s. Unfortunately her personality has been getting in the way more lately.
So now we need more of Oda Nobuna in her battle outfit. 🙂

Hagure Yuusha no Estetica — 10: Personally, Akatsuki is way too kind. He should have killed that bastard Phil in one shot. Letting an enemy with no redeeming qualities like that alive is a mistake that usually comes back to haunt you and everybody you care about. Besides, once he’s dead, he won’t be missed.
Where fanservice is concerned, this show is soaring above the others. That scene with Miu stripping down was borderline hentai and it awesome.
Well, while Akatsuki was being poisoned, Miu said his body temperature was dropping. So what I understand is, she thought she could keep him warm with her body heat by pressing her body against his. Like people hugging each other to keep warm if they were buried under snow. And I guess for her, skin contact was the best option.

Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai — 09: First, I must say this anime gets a 100+ points for the female lead being almost naked in the entire episode without a care in the world. This is a rarity in of itself. I guess she’s become the type who’s too mature to care about such trivial things when there’s a crisis going on. I think it’s a good thing it’s become common that she’s being seen like that frequently. Since it’s ecchi, it wouldn’t be normal if we didn’t have a little flash of skin every now and again.
Though it wasn’t appropriate at the time, I liked the montages of Ryousuke and Lisara being a little more tame and acting like couple. Moreover that Lisara was hardly going tsundere on us.
Galderbroug’s motives were baffling. Everything that was done was shown as if something evil was unfolding and he says it was all well intentioned. That’s like saying it was all a necessary evil. The guy looked like he’d kill anyone that got in his way.
Who Is Imouto? — 09: Damn! The beginning was full of deceit! I thought he finally accepted one of the girls he investigated and cleared and got busy. All that huffing and puffing was just from exercising? That’s the kind of troll that slaps you in the face.
I know it’s for Shougo and the future of the company he’s going to inherit but in my opinion, his mother is putting too much pressure on him to find the right girl and her expectations are far too high. You just can’t find the right person overnight. It doesn’t work that way. You’ve got to know them thoroughly first.
So Yuzurina is actually the sister he’s been tracking down. Hmm.. Until the next episode comes along, I’m hard pressed to accept that right away, especially with all the past mishaps. There are still three more episodes left and any is possible. If Yuzurina is really his long lost sister, then the girls in his harem are fair game and he can stop worrying about making mistakes and accidently committing marital incest.
Hahaha, sexual innuendo is a flawless method to turn someone’s head. I never expected a girl to get a nosebleed from hearing such sounds in anime. It’s mostly the male characters. And with all those assumptions she made while trying to figure out the situation, it’s official that Yuzurina has a dirty mind. Not to mention she was whole heartedly sniffing Shougo’s bed for the scent of other girls. It’s always the most composed girls that turn out to be fierce closet perverts.

I thought it was pretty clear in Boku H. And well, it was evil, even if Galderbroug thought it was well-intentioned. His intentions were to kill lots of humans to balance Grimwald and Human dimensions. First his plan was to take over Grimwald, find the strong soul, and then use his power in Grimwald to start his pogrom upon the humans through the gate. Thanks to Ryousuke defeating him and destroying the gate limiter, now his pogrom can start without him actually beating Ryousuke.
Even though I thought Lisara topless for the whole episode was a tad bit overmuch, you’re right in the aspect that she was topless without being all conscious about it the whole time, or fighting one-handed (again like Musubi in Sekirei, although she’d been reprimanded repeatedly for not being modest enough).
And like I said, I really liked that alternate flashback. No tsun, just that initial kinda creeped out bit when they crashed into each other, but then a cute couple after that.

I only saw the BD’s for Hyakka Ryouran (so no censoring), but I still loved the art style, and the story was one I found interesting. That was also the first show that consistently surprised me with the end of the episode: “What, you mean it’s over? Awww, man.” So yeah, I’m really happy about the second season, but wondering what they’re going to do about the main character.

High School DxD — 13: I missed this show and it’s good to hear Yuki Kaji’s voice out of Issei again rather than Accel World’s Haruyuki. Issei and Ryousuke should battle each other. Which is more perverted?
A monster designed to help girls gain a bigger bust? That Maverick Demon is an unsung hero to guys everywhere and a potential consultant to girls despite his strange methods. Being imprisoned for that is an injustice.
Next to Rias, Akeno’s my favorite girl. Polite, somewhat perverted and sadistic. I love sadistic female characters. Is the nudity enjoyable? This is ecchi we’re talking about. Why wouldn’t it be? Bring on season2!! First Haganai gets another season and now this. Things are getting good.

I would support Maverick Demon’s goal all the way, but I thought it was really funny how Issei reasoned out that grabbing Rias and Akeno’s boobs far outweighed looking at everyone with big boobs. To reverse and retool the old saying, the boobs of the few outweigh the boobs of the many.
I enjoy Akeno to, I’d probably say my #1.
Man, Haganai was good. Problem is, we’ll have to wait for BDs for both uncensoring and better quality animation because AIC ASTA’s TV run of the series wasn’t exactly impressive.

I haven’t seen this OVA yet (waiting for someone better to release it), but I’m totally in the tank for Rias. Akeno is nice, but I’m not too much for the S when it gets over the top. We generally only see that from Akeno when she’s fighting tho. She does get a bit teasy in the intimate moments, tho.
I’ve been holding off on the rest of the LN’s until I can read Japanese. The translations are ok-ish, way better than the IS ones, tho.
