First Impressions: Hagure Yuusha no Estetica [NSFW]
Meet the demon lord’s daughter and Akatsuki, the pantsu and bra collector.

Woooo! It is time for some more first impression with me, but this time we take a look at Hagure Yuusha no Estetica, which really screams Ichiban Ushiro no Diamou to me. So, can this series take off like that series? Then again I never had any high hopes for this series other than it being a straight up fanservice series like Freezing and possibly Queens Blade? Anyway time to start this review.

Hey there folks, time for the boobs portion of anime this summer 2012 season. I only care to write on what I enjoyed about the show since the negatives are in plain sight. There’s a lot of bad here, but one man’s junk is another man’s treasure, and that sounds really queer… anyways… |
Say hello to the main character! Doesn’t he look like a buffed up version of Grey from Fairy Tail?
Fosh: So what the hell was going on in this first episode? For starters I just have to say this is not as crazy as Ichiban Ushiro no Diamou but at the same time it shares a lot of similarities like students with magical powers? I don’t think they really focus on the demon lord part of the series. Of course until the other characters find out that Miu is the daughter of some demon king, but it appears there might be other special characters going to the main school aka people from other world. I hope so as I would love to see what other types of “special” characters are running around.
Miu-“Who dares look upon my body!?” Akatsuki-“That is a silly question! You have lovely looking plots.”
Jrow: Akatsuki was an enjoyable main character to watch. I really like his cool and cocky personality, and for me he easily trumps so many of the male leads this summer season. Instead of being wimpy bro or being an overbearing presence, guys like Akatsuki’s character, with attitudes like his, are always the fun ones to watch because you want to see guys do cool shit. Not on accident or thanks to a special power/kiss/etc; just because they are straight-up BAMF. If I keep watching for the story portion of Hagure, Akatsuki (surprisingly enough) can be looked to as a contributing factor.
Anyone else feel like they were listening to Accelerator and Misaka?! AND THEY KISSED.
Fosh: So in terms of crazy fan-service levels this first episode was of course fully uncensored! Yes, that is a warning right there because watching this with others might get a bit weird, but if you really like that sort of thing you then you might enjoy this series for your fan-service needs. Also the main character Akatsuki was stealing all the chicks’ bras and pantsu? What type of magical power is that really!? Then again if you think about it his magical power fits the theme of a crazy fan-service series, but it was still entertaining and besides he is voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto aka Rin from Ao no Exorcist and Accelerator from the index series. I did laugh when Akatsuki kissed Listy EL Da Sherfied because Rina Satou, who voices Misaka from Railgun…So yeah…just think about it for a minute Accelerator kissed Misaka! Ahahah yes it is so perfect.
Miu-“Can I return to my world? At least I didn’t have school there.” Akatsuki-“But then we would miss all the fanservice!”
Jrow: Boobs are also good, and to have a double-dose of AT-X uncensored lady nudity is very welcome. Arms knows nipples, so it’s standard-quality artwork from them. A character special with Queen’s Blade has already shown Miu and two others with extra shower scenes, so unless the show pulls more stunts like Miu’s shirt button exploding like she was in a Subway commercial, fanservice will come when water is coming out of a shower head or when they are being examined by medical staff.
Can you feel the bromance in the air between these two guys?
Fosh: Overall I would say this is an interesting series even though Akatsuki seems to be the “OH MY GOD I AM SO AWESOME” type. That mindset will get really old fast I can bet money on that, but I am interested to see what he does in a real fight! Seriously I want to see the action scenes. Then again I think this is going to be just epic fight, random fan-service shot, fight and stick in a pantsu or topless shot just for the hell of it right? Yeah I will give this two or three more episodes! BRING ON THE FIGHTING WOOO!

Jrow: Miu puts H’s Lisara easily to shame with her crazy huge tits (I’m paraphrasing what Akatsuki says) and she’s voiced by Yoko Hikasa, a favorite around these blogging parts. On the subject of seiyuu, we still have yet to hear from Marina Inoue and Hanazawa, so I think I might keep on the Hagure boobwagon for at least another week. The show’s on thin ice, so it’s got to do some surprising stuff for me to keep with actually watching the show and its story.

I really was underwhelmed by this show. I didn’t find the MC cool at all, just ordinary. Hey, he can de-lingerie girls just by being near them. And this immediately causes supposedly trained fighting women to drop to the ground clutching their newly liberated bosoms (of course they’re still wearing outer clothes, so it’s not like they were exposed, no?). And then he barely leers? It just seemed so rote.
I also didn’t care for the character designs. Something about Miyu just seemed wrong, like her face was too round or her hair didn’t fit. Akatsuki just seems like a big slab.
(It also didn’t help that the version I watched was a crummy encode with bad english, but it doesn’t look like there’s an alternative to that)

MC is definitely an oddball among the other characters and he has a strange ecchi themed power?! I admit that made me laugh, but really is that all he can do? LOL good job MC you are crazy.
Right those character designs were failing me as well the main guy looks wayyyyyy to ripped to be a “teen” but yeah anime age is always a joke xD
Hmmm yeah I think there were two different versions? Maybe episode two will have better subs? That said I don’t expect much from that series…

It’s nice to see another anti-hero after a long time… The last was Oh-My-Shoe, and he was no good doing it, seriously.
Well, back to the topic… When I was watching the first scenes, I thought that the action was so nice, just to be caught with my screen filled with pantsu and bras (and mommy in my back, watching the TV). -.-‘
Even so, I don’t regret watching it. The animation and the voice act is good and it has some funny moments XD mainly when the girl stuffed her chest, and the button exploded inside the car XD
I’ll give it a try and watch some episodes more.

Just like I told Croos on twitter. Hagare Yuusha no Estetica = To Aru Majutsu No Index (just look at the list of seiyuu; they’ve even got Kamijou Touma’s VA listed) + Queen’s Blade (those massive tracts of land a.k.a. PLOTS)
What I don’t get is: Miyu/Miu doesn’t sound like Hikasa Youko. I was expecting a Rias-like or Seraphim-style voice.

I agree. When I saw Yoko Hikasa on the seiyuu list, I was expecting a familiar sounding voice like the other animes she played in. This new voice from her feels completely out of the box.

After watching the second episode, I think I actually found out what the plan is for most of these characters: Lift them directly from characters in other shows that the seiyuus voiced.
Hanazawa Kana’s character – Short, softspoken but biting commentary, long hime cut hair – It’s Kuroneko (with green hair)!
Inoue Marina’s character – Long hair, aggressive attitude, quick to fight, seems to be above the camera a lot… – It’s Tsukiumi (with green hair)!
Hikasa Youko – hmm, we need to mix it up here a little. Ok, powerful magic, big boobs, so thinking Rias Gremory, BUT! Let’s add in a little of Akiyama Mio’s shyness! Then we don’t have to change the hair color much!
And as mentioned, Okamoto Nobuhiko as Akatsuki… well, let’s think about what Accelerator was like before they tried to twist him into a level 6? Powerful, quite mischievous, not tolerant of others bugging him… tada!

Hahahaha, you guys are tag teaming another ecchi series? Jrow, you must be enjoying this, and you’re corrupting Fosh and us along the way. But who cares? I’d join in, regardless.
Not much to say on this series right now. It was rather flat as a start. Not bad but not great either. But I will say it was a decent way to start the anime. I already see the tension between Akatsuki and the student council president Kyouya.
This feels a bit like Freezing/Seikon no Qwaser/Queen’s Blade meets To Aru Majutsu no Index/To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. And I don’t know why but the character’s school uniforms remind me of those uniforms from the day class in Vampire Knight. Maybe I’ll stick seeing there are three great seiyuus here (Nobuhiko Okamoto, Yoko Hikasa and Kana Hanazawa later on), especially with a male lead who doesn’t hesitate to make moves.
Right now, I’m unimpressed with Nobuhiko Okamoto’s character. If not for his charismatic charm towards Myuu and the others, I’d have considered him a musclebound blockhead. And just like my thoughts on Myuu, the voices don’t really suit the characters. It was difficult accepting Nobuhiko as Akatsuki and Yoko Hikasa as Myuu (I was expecting a voice like Inu x Boku SS’s Nobara, DxD’s Rias or Kore wa’s Seraphim).
But I do admire Akatsuki’s Stripping Drunken Fist style (Mayo Chiki reference) at the beginning. Quite the lecherous move, a cleaner version of Issei’s power from High School DxD, that only removes bras and panties and not a full on strip. Move over Mayo Chiki’s Nakuru and Issei. You’ve got competition.
Since Myuu is a demon and is seemingly ashamed of her powers, I have a feeling she’ll go beserk in the later episodes. She’s pretty powerful with some quick thinking and instincts.

Yeah decent start to a strange series and that short “fight” with Akatsuki and the student pres? That was cool but I wanted more.
Doesn’t it? AGREED! This is very queens blade/freezing those uniforms do look familiar maybe a bit like Persona 4 to me anyway and there is a bit of index/railgun because all of the students have some sort of “power”
Voice work is great and Miu is sooooooo quiet! Maybe she will talk more in the next few episodes?

I like it so far, it’s an ecchi anime with a BAMF as the MC. Really reminds me of Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, which I enjoyed watching.
