Eureka Seven Ao – 04

Do you have tickets to this amazing gun show?

So last episode we had to deal with a bit of backstory on the whole Eureka and Ao thing, but hopefully this week we get a chance to watch some action scenes with this episode! Also you can listen to me and Jrow ramble on about the special highlights on this episode.Plot this week has Ao defeat the giant G monster and joins up with Generation Blue.

Tanaka-“Join the army today and participate in amazing battles against monsters!”

Starting off this week we follow Ao aboard the Nirvosh as he heads out to fight the G monster for some revenge, but Generation Blue takes charge and prevents him from fighting for now. Yeah you might be the main character bro, but even you would get owned by that giant G monster. Elena comes to his rescue and they have a short chat before he decides to go ahead and try his hand at fighting the massive monster, however he needs a little weapon upgrade like a giant arm cannon? It sure is strange to see the Nirvosh using weapons like that… Anyway, Ao plans to basically get right on top of the monster and attack it at close range.

Soldier-“THIS IS SO AWESOME GUYS!”                Elena-“Well that was over quick for them.”

Elena-“At first I was like DIE DIE DIE!!”

Elena-“Just kidding! I can’t possibly pull off any Anemone impersonation…”

Fleur-“Remind me to take away all your anime after this mission, Elena.”

So with his fancy new upgraded cannon thingy; Ao makes quick work of the G monster leaving one amazing explosion for everyone on the island to witness. With the monsters defeated Generation Blue moves in and they “harvest” the energy from the Scrub Coral, but what do they want with the core? I thought it was some sort of power source for their machines? Anyway after saving everyone from the G monster attack Ao wakes up in a nearby city with a random member of Generation Blue, because apparently he has some sort of bounty on his head and is wanted by America… Damn bro what did you do to piss off America? I suppose stealing the Nirvosh from them might be one of those reasons?

Everyone loves an epic explosions, right?

Elena-“Awww man I wanted to blow up the giant monster this week.”

Eating ice cream with a total stranger is perfectly fine!

Gekkostate lives?!

Shortly afterwards Ao is reunited with Naru for a heartfelt moment together before he leaves her side to join the ranks of Generation Blue; most of us probably thought she would instantly join with Ao, but she did leave Noah behind with them so I have a feeling she will hook up with Generation Blue near the middle of the series? Oh and Eureka is out there somewhere with the other Nirvosh! I guess she disappeared… The episode ends shortly after with Ao boarding the Generation Blue ship to escape from a few American fighters.

Naru-“I wish I could cling to this moment forever…”                 Ao-“That pun totally failed.”

Naru-“I don’t know but it smells like extreme victory to me!”

Ao-“Cool all the main characters have colored hair like me.”               Elena-“….”               Fleur-“…..”

Extra super flying robot fun

Ao-“Damn I totally forgot Nirvosh got oh ma shoed last time…”

Ao has the best view in town doesn’t he, Jrow?

More like amazing sloth adventures.

Noah-“Tonight…you…”

Damn this was a fantastic episode for some great action scenes thanks to epic fight between Ao and the massive G monster, but it was also great to see more information about Eureka and how she disappeared? After hearing all of that, it really makes me wonder if maybe she traveled to the other world in an attempt to give her son a better life? But she probably had no idea about the G monsters appearing in that world. So what do you think? Was it just an accident that she ended up on this world or maybe it was planned from the beginning? Either way I hope Generation Blue finds Eureka or they discover the truth soon.

So Elena and Fleur’s machines seem to work as a special team as in Fleur sets up the targets and Elena unloads her missiles! I really enjoyed how the creators set that up, but does that mean Fleur is fully dependable on Elena’s machine? Or can they fight separately? Fingers crossed for them to combine machines! Just kidding I really hope that doesn’t happen. Did anyone else catch the possible Gekko state reveal at the rally/concert scene in the background you can see a huge GS logo behind the DJ booth, but since this might be another world I don’t think you will see any original members from season one appearing unless they cross over to this world.

And now Naru is left all alone! Nooooooooo!! And she gave up her sloth pet to Generation Blue? Awwww now who will she cling to on those lonely nights? Hopefully she gets a chance later on to join her friend and reunite with Noah. So yeah now Gazelle and the two other guys managed to sneak aboard!? I guess they don’t want to be left out of the adventure. Overall this episode had lots of great action scenes, epic music and a really addictive story so far.

Excellent episode and excellent action! I find they kind of rushed it with destroying the G monster. Gazelle and his friends are getting involved in things they obviously shouldn’t. It’s going to be Curiosity killed the cat. The United Okinawa and Ryukyu Island’s technological society rivals that of Index/Railgun.

Ao has the best view of Fleur’s (Flower) butt. Elena’s battle style for her IFO reminds me of Chris’s arsenal from Senki Zesshou Symphogear with her long range weaponry hitting multiple targets.

Ok, we get more info on Eureka but I wonder what happened to Renton in the meantime and what caused the Nirvash to change color. They were inseparable when they were kids. Maybe he and Eureka got separated before she was seen falling from the sky.

    • Jrow says:

I dunno about rushed, personally. There wasn’t really a struggle which I could see being a point of concern, but with all of the other things they wanted to bring up in the episode, I’m alright with them having Ao get rid of the Secret in the way he did.

Agreeing with Fosh and you on Ao having the best view. If he were like that guy from R-15, we’d a got a fantasy scene. “What body part can swell up to 6 times its normal size?” LOL

Ahahah Gazelle and his friends are a interesting bunch of people I wonder what the crew of Generation Blue thinks about them sneaking aboard? I bet they get put to work cleaning, cooking and taking care of things! Thankfully there are no little kids running around.

Damn Fleur is rising to the top for my favorite female pilot for spring season! I hope Madoka can spring back in the summer time! Right I was thinking the same thing about the machines, well maybe not in Symphogear standards but it works xD

I have a feeling Renton never crossed over with Eureka to this new world, but we don’t really know much about Renton at this point Id imagine we might learn something soon? I think they both could have ended up in two different locations.

This is pretty much Noah’s world isn’t it? He is the nexus of all adventure.

Good mecha battle all around, I enjoyed his surfing chain gun action. And as a finale, find ways to use a weapon as a weapon even if you can’t pull the trigger. I’ve had a player do that type of stunt in a sit down RPG once. He essentially had a huge gun that launched sticks of lit dynamite. But it jammed up so much, he couldn’t remove the explosives fast enough for the combat round. With a massive steam powered tank with gatling guns bearing down on him, he chucked the dynamite gun under the tank, and in the same action fired upon it with his trusty revolver. Lucky for him he rolled well.

Is this like that episode of Community where you can build a story and do w/e you want so long as you roll high numbers?

      • skylion says:

I’m not familiar with Community over-much, but I am aware they have geeks aplenty in it.

RPG’s can go in that direction re: high numbers, indeed.
I used to run it that way, quite some time ago, as I would often say to a player, “Roll something and impress me”. Meaning I wouldn’t give a target number, nor say if they passed. Just that I was impressed and the events will no go as I say they go. It creates some tension which games like that can lack if you know what you have to pass, it also puts less focus on number and more on drama.

Noah! I love that little sloth…

Hell ya surfing/machine gun action and EXPLOSIONS! Wooooo Hooooooooooo! Wow that sounds like an amazing rpg Skylion!

Deadlands. Spaghetti Western with a Supernatural Background and a high steampunk quotient. Wizards are poker players, and the undead never end.

        • Foshizzel says:

          Wow! Sounds very interesting xD

        • BlackBriar says:

Nice ideas. I must ask: where do you come up with this stuff? I’ll always be rooting for the supernatural parts.

    I want a sloth hat…

    • Jrow says:

How about a Noah backpack that you can put his head over your shoulder?

    • Foshizzel says:

I want a sloth pet! But a hat is also fine or backpack <3

    • BlackBriar says:

I want a sloth hat and we can get sloth backpacks for the girls..
